The food is very bland and the meat didn’t taste like anything. Extremely disappointed with the food. The prices on the menu were different that actual charged prices. The atmosphere was nice, which was the reason we came in. The service was ok. The food came pretty quickly. I wouldn’t come here again though.

Wouldn’t go back. They did a great job with the decor and it’s supper fun and well done, I wish they paid that much attention to the food. The food was not good. The rice and beans were incredibly bland and all the different meats didn't taste like much at all. The prices are for food are decent, except paying $17 for one tequila slushy isn’t quite worth it. The portions were good and the food was hot, but that was the only thing it had going for it. The service was good, but this is the reason white people can’t do Mexican food.

I have read some of the other reviews on this place prior to writing my own. I have to say I don't understand the negative reviews that pop up because I really enjoyed coming here for a meal. After finishing with a gruelling hike up Mount Crandell, I was convinced to go here and not the Subway across the street by the fact that it's a local eatery and the sign said it was voted best in the Southern Rockies. The food was nice and fresh. Bonus as well was the homemade hot salsa, although slightly more spiciness as a personal preference would improve the overall meal. The service was excellent and extremely friendly, I will probably return here next time I come to Waterton.

It took a little longer to get our food in this tiny, cute, little place, but it was totally worth it. I had the mouthwatering spicy pollo and carnitas tacos, they were a bit small so make sure you get at least four. Kinda wish there was some sort of discount for getting many tacos. Loved the various types of hot sauces available to try. Wish I could have had some chips and guacamole with my tacos, but they were out of guacamole after lunch. Staff was very nice and seemed to be working really hard yet to keep the line moving.

I had the shredded garlic pork 'bowl in a bag'. The flavors were amazing, and the perfect ratio of meat, rice, beans, veg and chips! The Churro was crispy and chewy to perfection as well! So good. Sad I discovered it so late in the season!!

The Mexican food here is hands down, the worst I’ve ever had. So bland and tasteless. Black beans and white rice in a watery bowl. We sat outside and it could be a really nice spot but the seating is also just as bland. Also, no shade so you’re eating under the hot sun. Avoid this place. *Edit - Clearly I’ve hit a nerve with the owner who cannot take the experience of their customers to heart and effect change. I don’t need to argue with someone that is clearly not able to take feedback or who is clearly not able to be reasoned with. Yes, the Taco Bar has now taken top place in my world of the absolute worst Mexican food I’ve ever had. I did fail to mention in my initial review that the bowl had spinach in it. Spinach in Mexican food - well, this was a first for me. The food at the Taco Bar was underwhelming and I left feeling dissatisfied, regretful that I wasted a meal on this place and hating the fact that I spent over $15 on a “bowl” that was so disgusting. The outdoor space was tacky and cheap and no, there was no table seating available with shade. Some umbrellas would’ve been nice. Please consider the owners response as an indicator of how this restaurant is run and his/her attitude towards their customers. Still. AVOID THIS PLACE.

Fresh, flavorful, and delicious tacos at a fair price. Nice indoor and outdoor seating areas.

Charging $15 odd for mini tacos with tasteless salsa, some chicken and lowest quality tacos I have ever had leaves me with no option but to give lowest rating. Customer service was fine though.
