What a clean and hip boutique motel. The breakfast pastries were great. The room was perfect for me and my wife. So many restaurants within walking distance. We stayed here a couple of nights to visit Universal Studios and was very pleased with the proximity. Staff were friendly and always helpful. Would stay here again.

If I could give more than five stars, I would! My family and I travel quite a bit and normally we stay at the Marriott and use points BUT lately, that chain hotel HAS NOT been up to par .||We were absolutely lucky to find this hidden gem in Burbank Ca!! ||It looks exactly like the Photos!! It’s super cute, and It’s in a beautiful neighborhood that you definitely feel safe walking at any time of the day!|Next door was a bakery, a burger shop Asian food, all within one minute of walking from the hotel. ||Not to mention, Warner Brothers Studios that was less than a five minute walk along with Universal Studios. Everything was in walking distance!!!||Check in was a breeze and they even have check-in at 11 AM not the standard 4pm!! You can’t find this anywhere else without a ridiculous charge. ||They also offer free parking, which is a great deal because every other hotel charges you a ridiculous fee for parking daily. Parking was safe. It was right at the hotel with cameras and lights.||I went to thank Kamal, Michael, Makena who went above and beyond with their customer service, making sure we had everything we needed! Including the free breakfast in the morning which consisted of delicious coffees, espresso, or teas, then fresh baked goods from the bakery next-door. They even have a water machine that you could fill up your water bottles anytime you like., for free! ||If you needed anything extra towels or have questions about the area, they were there to answer and take care of you!||We will definitely be back and stay with them again. Thank you Tangerine hotel for making our trip even more special!||Maria, and Kate and tom

Great Stay – Friendly Staff and Good Vibes||Stayed a couple of nights at The Tangerine and had a great experience. The staff were excellent—really friendly, helpful, and made the check-in and stay super easy. The room was clean, well set up, and felt fresh. Parking was a breeze, which isn’t always the case in LA.||It’s in a great location too—close to the freeways and an easy walk to some excellent restaurants, cafés, and food spots. Overall, just a great little hotel with good energy. Would definitely stay again. 5 out of 5

I am an avid traveler and most of my lodging is set in a large hotel or resort style accommodations. I found The Tangerine being just as or more thoughtful, welcoming with charm, making it a really nice place to be for a motel-style hotel. What I experienced from the time I checked in to the time I left was friendly service, a place where I felt cozy and comfortable with all that I needed and expected for the short time I was there, and most importantly, safe. Oh, and the free pastries from Home Boy Bakery and the complimentary coffee and tea....so delicious! I appreciate the fact they support local organizations with a good cause. I look forward to my next stay on the next time I'm in Burbank.

Google
Cute little hotel on Riverside drive. I only stayed for the night, but it was perfect. Bed was comfortable, AC unit was perfect, and I loved the decorations in the room. Continental breakfast is just coffee/tea and pastries, but they were fresh and from a non-chain bakery. Staff was very friendly - I left my Kindle charger in my room after checkout, and the desk clerk immediately called me. Will definitely consider staying there next time - I definitely want to use the outdoor pool!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Tangerine. It was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast pastries were wonderful. Also loved the 24 hour access to coffee, hot chocolate or tea. Would definitely recommend and would stay again. Easy walk to restaurants as well. A jewel in the heart of Burbank!

Google
A fantastic stay. All staff from the hardworking cleaning crew to the manager were extremely accommodating and friendly. Sherri was wonderful and went out of her way to make sure that three girls had the safest room on the second floor, considering that two of us are from the East Coast and knew nothing of Burbank. The entire area is very safe and there are plenty of shops and eateries in walking distance. The coffee machine and Dough Boys bakery items are excellent. Everything was spectacularly clean and comfortable. No complaints. Stayed 4 nights from 6/9 to 6/13. Thank you Tangerine Hotel! EJ Christopher

We booked this hotel due to the vicinity to Warner Bros Studio Tour. We had an overnight stop before flying from LAX and I thought the tour would be a nice thing to do on our last day before flying. It was a very warm welcome with nice facilities and a lovely room, perfect for a night or twos stay. As we booked directly with the hotel we also received a 20% discount on all food and drink at Don Cucos which was next door and was exceptional! The day of departure we had the studio tour booked and as the hotel was quiet we were able to park for a few additional hours while we did the tour which was only a 5-10 minute walk away. It was a lovely stay and I wouldn’t hesitate to book again if we’re in the area.

Yelp
We decided to take a quick trip to Universal Studios and needed a hotel that wasn't overly fancy but also not a subpar motel/inn. After finding The Tangerine Hotel on Tripadvisor with great reviews and an even better price, we gave it a shot, and I'm so glad we did! This isn't your bougie luxury hotel, but it's clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Our room was spotless and neatly arranged, parking was super easy, and the location was absolutely perfect. When I checked in, Kamal (I believe that was his name) was incredibly welcoming and friendly. He even made sure that my special request for extra towels and pillows was taken care of before we got to the room - such great attention to detail! The area felt safe, and as a nice bonus, they gave us $20 coupon for the Mexican restaurant next door (though we didn't get a chance to try it). There are also several other restaurants just down the street. Check-in and check-out were smooth and hassle free. If you're looking for a great place to stay near Universal Studios without breaking the bank, I highly recommend Tangerine Hotel!

Yelp
What a great little hotel. Conveniently located to the Warmer Bros and Universal Studios Hollywood! Walking distance to a large variety of great eateries. The room is basic but very comfortable. The front desk staff was amazing!! We came during the high winds and fires (we lost power for 3 days) and got one of the last available rooms. What a life saver it was too have a comfortable bed, warm room, hot shower and place to charge our electrical devices! A Continental breakfast provided by Homeboy Bakery and specialty coffee for breakfast was perfect. The front desk lobby has a nice sofa and big screen TV to watch anytime while enjoying hot beverages. This is a two story walkup with pool. (Not sure if it's heated in the winter, but it was so windy, no one willing would be outside). I can't stress what a great location this place is for tourists and out of towners! And Burbank is a great town, just on the edge of Toluca Lake, North Hollywood and Universal. Worth a stay

Yelp
We flew in from NJ to do a road trip throughout California, Arizona and Nevada. Our first stop was the Warner Bros Studio so I picked this hotel because of location and price. It had a motel vibe and it made me nervous, but most of the ratings were positive. I was pleasantly surprised with this place. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Light breakfast (pastries) in the lobby. Great location to studios and a lot of restaurants.

Yelp
Sherry was very helpful in arranging our reservation and getting us checked in. Parking was great, the pool was great, the location is outstanding. I booked it with my two sons, age 8 and 13 and it was safe, clean, and very enjoyable. Can't say much more but it's just a super cool place and I recommend it highly.

Yelp
My mang and I had some business to do in this area. We know nothing about so ca. I made these middle of the week reservations on the fly, and I love this lil motel. I prefer this to a big place with elevators and hallways and tons of people coming and going. The folks at the front desk are there 24/7. The pool was great! I don't want to divulge too much because it is such a cozy lil secret. Mostly, I want to let the hotel know, thank you for having us, we will be there again

Yelp
We stayed here for 3 nights as the last leg of our LA trip last summer (July 2023) after staying at Disney Grand California Hotel for few nights for our Disneyland trip. We booked thru Expedia and it came out to be approximately $293 USD/night which is not bad at all for a hotel that is centrally located for visiting Universal Hollywood (10 minutes Uber ride) , Getty Centre (20 mins Uber Ride), Hall of fame (10 mins) etc. walking distance to nearby eatery. Hotel is well maintained, 2 queen beds, ample of counter space, an outdoor swimming pool. Also, free breakfast daily with delicious pastry made by HomeBoy Industries. Checked in was quick and easy. 1 hour from LAX airport. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend others and likely return for our future LA trip.

Yelp
I had a brief stay in Burbank for work and decided to give The Tangerine a try. It's a retro style hotel with in-room art fixtures and a heated pool. I failed to bring a bathing suit. I booked a king room and was given the room in the very back of the hotel, next to the room service closet, with the window that faces the alleyway behind the hotel. I was only here for 1 night so I didn't make a fuss of the location of my room. However, it did get quite loud in the morning while room service was getting supplies. Nevertheless, I slept well at night. I do like that this hotel is located within walking distance of a variety of highly rated restaurants, bars and coffee shops. I'll be coming back on my next work trip to LA.

Yelp
Me and my son stayed here for one night before spending a day at the universal studios. Hotel is small but really pretty. The room we were in was on top of the pool and for the 2 of us was great. Tv screen is a bit small however we didn't even turned it on. We went to the pool which is heated to 85degrees (still too cold for me but my kid loved it) and we had a good night sleep. There was plenty of restaurants around and the neighborhood looked very chilled. In the morning we got pastries and cappuccino in the lobby. Parking is limited but that is the only downside. What made it great was the guest service we received. Kamal (I'm assuming the manager) and the other guy (I don't remember his name) were both super nice, they were so sweet with my kid (he is a big talker hahah ). I would definitely stay there again

Yelp
A slice of freshness in the city of Burbank bordering Toluca Lake... The Tangerine is ripe with charm, convenience and comfort. I checked in on Friday for my birthday in much need of a staycation and some exploring of one of my favorite LA/San Fernando Valley areas. I'd probably passed The Tangerine more times than I could count over the years and finally decided to try them out for myself and let me tell you... I was glad I did!! Check-In was as early as 1PM/2PM which is like the best thing ever and as late as 11 AM though I believe there is some flexibility to noon. Book direct with the hotel and save an instant 10% off your stay, but even booking with third party sites like Hotel.com you still can get a great price. They have great specials, but especially for a king size bed and four parking spots in the main entrance (which can be a tight squeeze when full) and additional parking in back through their alley which is monitored. When I finally checked in around 430ish PM probably a little closer to 5 I got the best welcome. Avery is/was amazing! Great customer service, smooth check in, great parking suggestions, local recommendation and overall invitingness... That's a word!! Aside from Avery I interacted with two other great people in the main lobby/reception area where you can also enjoy some continental treats (baked goods via Homeboy Bakery) in the AM from 7 to 11, hot coffee and whatevers playing on TV in their chic lounge. My room was on the 2nd floor which was more than ideal in getting a slightly better view of Riverside Drive. The TV, free wifi, plugs, huge table w/ giant cushioned chairs, clock radio + dock, mini fridge, coffee machine in room, safe, closet and dresser space were more than I expected and the vanity area became my mini bar for the night. Blackout curtains, AC and light dimmers for the main portion of the room gave me new life at night and especially in the morning... No brightness detected!! The shower was perfect and the water pressure was powerful... Maybe too powerful at one point lol (the sink mostly - some backsplash), but no complaints here. The bed was extra cozy and made for plenty of space for myself and my friend Mario who stayed over with me coming down from San Bernardino to hang and help me celebrate my birthday. I had a small handful of friends over and we had a great time, so grateful for everyone who came out to hang in Burbank and enjoy my little slice of safe space care for the night. Some of us got food late and had plenty of drinks as one should. Two of my pals had stayed here in the past and even recommended The Tangerine to me as well as their families and friends over the years. I'm glad I listened! The "Rine" I believe has been in business since 2005 where it was renovated into a boutique style inn/hotel. Tangerine has several vending machines (mostly in or near the pool area and one beverage machine directly outside the lobby across from a well placed water fountain) near staircases. Great photo opportunities all over the place! Unfortunately the pool hadn't been heated so I didn't opt in for a dip, but next time for sure since it can be heated! Close to Bob's Big Boy, Jinya Ramen, Red Maple Cafe, Something Vegan, Don Cuco (get 20% off gift card with stay), Forman's Whiskey Tavern and a long list of both local small mom & pop and cool chain eateries not mention near all the major banks, Trader Joe's heading west, Whole Foods going east, and Vons or even Smart & Final Northbound. CVS and tons of supply & personal care stores nearby... All drivable and some even very walkable. A few transits/Metro buses do run alongside Riverside for some green sightseeing fun. You can catch tapings, tours plus more at the Warner Brother Lot... Short trip over to Universal Studios as well. My friend Mario actually caught the LA Metro Bus 155 over from there which stops across the street. Basically a five star place + stay in so many ways... But that ONE ice machine ALL the way over by and actually in the pool area... At night in December when the valley drops to 40s... O.O... Gonna need ice access on the 2nd floor please or at least on the front side near the main staircase/vending machine... please and thank you! Overall I can't recommend enough or say better things about all the staff! Future staycations for myself for sure as well as suggestions for people visiting from out of town.

Yelp
Great location. Room was clean staff were super helpful and friendly. Pool was great for hot days plus they play music. Pastries every morning. 2 parking lots small in front more spaces in the back. Plenty on food options near by. Free WiFi Would definitely stay again

Allison R.

Yelp
Rooms were clean and quiet. Location was perfect and the coffee and pastries in the morning were just what we needed. 10/10 would stay there again.

Yelp
My family has such great experience here. It's less than 10 minutes to universal studios. We Uber to there. $12 to go there and $14 to come back. It's much better than finding a parking there. The drop off location for Uber was very close to the front gate of the studio. They offer free pastries in the morning 7-11. They have espresso machines that can make dirty chai 24 hours a in the lobby. Many great restaurants are walking distance. I mean within 5 minutes. A very good French bakery, 2 nice Japanese restaurants, and many other good restaurants are near the hotel. I feel the neighborhood is very safe at night too. The customer service is another wonderful reason that I gave 5 stars for this hotel. The front desk people are all very friendly and are always there to help. There is probably one thing I think the hotel can be better is parking, very limited parking spots.

Yelp
My kids and I stayed here for a trip to Universal Studios Hollywood. It was very close and convenient. The room was small but clean. We had no microwave but a small coffeemaker. The rooms were brightly painted with orange doors/counters and there was a pretty mural on the wall. The room had lots of counter space, a large vanity mirror, a cute little 4 drawer chest and ample closet with ironing board. The bathrooms had sustainable shampoo and lotions which is great. I wish more hotels did this. The noise from the freeway can be heard but it sounded like it was raining outside. The sunlight was peeking through the sides of the curtains so it was quite bright in the morning. The parking lot in front is very small as there were only 4 spots plus handicap but there is more parking around back with video surveillance. There is a pool, but during our visit it was under construction. Everyone we spoke with at the front desk was very friendly and the amenities in the lobby are great. The coffee machine is a definite must try. They also had water machine and microwave for guests. In the morning, they also had complimentary pastries. The kids talked about the next time they stay there. So it was a win. Definitely worth a stay.

Mike R.

Yelp
Staff were extraordinarily kind and welcoming. Reviews are extremely positive so my expectations were high. If you are familiar with the hotel /motel marketplace in Los Angeles, you will find this overpriced and disappointing. It would be fine for about $100/night (and should be called a motel not a hotel.) Not enough parking for all rooms /guests so it's first-come first served and others have to find street parking which is time-restricted; meaning you will have to go out and move your car in the morning. There are no rugs on the cold, polished concrete floors. In my room, the heat/AC unit blew mildew-smelling air. Rooms have a mini-fridge but no microwave. For a microwave, you will need to bring your food to the lobby.
google avatar

Dan B.

Yelp
Space looks cool on the outside and the customer service is good with the host. The room interior was outdated, carpet ripped and unclean in some spots and the bathroom wallpaper was coming off, the bathroom drain must of been clogged as the bath kept flooding during showering and it was very uncomfortable. So my experience with this place wasn't that great. I told them directly and also emailed them with no response.

Yelp
We stayed at the Tangerine in Burbank from 7-21-24 to 7-24-24, we traveled with friends who stayed at the Hilton. When we checked into our room there were 2 covid masks laying on the desk. We thought that was weird. We actually even through them away. On our last day my husband became very ill we ordered a covid test to be delivered to our room and sure enough he had covid. Then I got it and our disabled son got it. HOWEVER, our friends who did the EXACT SAME activities that we did our entire trip who stayed at the Hilton DID NOT get covid. We contacted the hotel before check out to alert them of my husbands status and that we had found masks in our room when we checked in. They said they would look into it. I got so sick I had to go to the hospital. I contacted the hotel and asked them for a refund and to contact the prior guests to check their covid status. I got an email back saying that I was lying and no way were masks left in the room, which why would I make that up? And we asked them for a refund and they said no. My advice to you is... NO MATTER HOW CUTE the pictures look... YOUR HEALTH COULD BE AT RISK STAYING HERE!! BEWARE!!!

Yelp
we are Angelino's, who had the good fortune to stay at the tangerine under exigent circumstances. The staff was beyond kind and compassionate to our situation, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The room was a perfect size, very clean, easy access to information ( TV and Wi-Fi ), and a refrigerator. All of our needs were met. Everyone may encountered, from the manager Kumal, and everyone on staff (Michael, Daniel, Miguelito) were wonderful and went out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay. We will certainly recommend the Tangerine without hesitation to anyone looking to stay in a quaint spot in the middle of a vibrant part of Burbank. On the bright side, our circumstances gave us the opportunity to discover a wonderful little gem right in our backyard. It's an easy five stars to give! Thank you, Tangerine!

Yelp
Great location- close to Universal studios, WB, and walking distance to several restaurants! Staff were amazing- Allison was super attentive and helpful and Avery was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was simple with an offering of fresh pastries. The 24 hour espresso machine was my favorite amenity! The hotel itself was clean and stocked with the basics. No frills, but within budget and fine place to rest after a long day out and about.

Yelp
Stayed for 1 night after a day at Universal Studios Hollywood. It was only $199 including all taxes, way less than many of the big name hotels. When booking, I couldn't figure out why this hotel had higher ratings that the competitors. Now I know. They thought of all the conveniences. The office is open 24/7 and stocked with a fancy coffee machine, hot tea, filtered water, microwave, ice, etc. the room had a comfy bed, small fridge, hair dryer, soaps for the shower, coffee maker, etc. It was near the street, but noise was not an issue. Free parking and wifi. The staff was super friendly. And the icing on the cake was that the doors and one countertop were orange, my girlfriend's favorite color. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Yelp
Terrific hotel! Staff was amazing. Super friendly and helpful. Plenty of places to eat that you can walk to. Hotel itself was really cute!! About a 15 min drive from universal.

Yelp
We had a staycation in Burbank recently. Needing a place to stay, I saw I bookmarked The Tangerine a while ago and so we decided to give them a shot. It's nicely located near Warner Bros. and is a short drive to Universal Studios for any tourists into that. There are also plenty of restaurants within walking distance if you don't want to venture too far. The Tangerine stands out with lots of orange everywhere. There's a small parking lot in front - 4 tight spots plus 1 handicapped space. Upon check-in you receive a parking permit to hang from your rearview mirror for when you park in front or in the alley out back. We stayed in room 120 which turned out to be convenient as its right next to the rear parking. Definitely don't plan on going out too late - we considered going out for dinner but all the parking spots were taken already. We didn't want to risk losing our spot so we just walked next door. We had a King room that has a big mural behind the bed. There's a table by the window and AC (which is on the loud side), the TV has basic cable, and there's some wood in the corner (art?). There's also a mini-fridge and a bottle opener for drinks. The bathroom is on the small side but has a surprisingly deep bathtub. The staff was friendly and professional but all the little things started to add up quickly making for a so-so experience. After check-in our room key wouldn't work. The woman at the front desk came out and showed that you have to pull the door towards you when you insert the key or the key won't work. Whenever we stay anywhere, we always bring disinfectant wipes to make sure our room is clean. Unfortunately our room wasn't clean as there was gunk/dirt on the switches and handles. We also found two stains in our sheets when we inspected the bed (always gross). We called the front and they replaced the sheets for us (after they asked if we needed help to change the sheets, like we were expected to do it ourselves which was weird). The bathroom door didn't close all the way (even after supposedly locking it) so it'll stay cracked open unless you prop the trash can against the door. The toilet ran for a long time after flushing it at night. It went away after jiggling the handle - hard to rest when you think the bathroom is going to flood. There was also a noticeable crack in the bathroom ceiling, as if something heavy fell in the room directly above. The bed is squeaky and the walls are kind of thin (bring headphones). At first I was glad we got a room right next to where we parked but I regretted it soon after. Since its right next to the back lot, we could loudly hear every time someone left/entered. Some people decided standing by our window in the middle of the night was a good place to catch up and socialize. And we couldn't help but listen to everyone else struggling to enter their rooms - of course jiggling/pounding on doors in the dead of night also doesn't make for peaceful sleeping (nothing like what sounds like your room being invaded to give you sweet dreams). The Tangerine is disappointing but we've stayed in worse places. Major points lost for lack of cleanliness (especially during a pandemic). Also, interesting choice in having an out of place chest of drawers directly next to the bathroom. It looks like something picked up from IKEA or Target and doesn't fit the room at all. The placement right next to the bathroom is not the smartest as I'm sure people bump into it all the time. Maybe also ditch the pointless wood on display. Finally, The Tangerine is a motel not a hotel so adjust your expectations accordingly.

Patrick H.

Yelp
Such a great stay here!! The receptionist gave us amazing reviews and we're always available! Very personable and kind!!!

Yelp
We stayed here on an impromptu trip to LA; we initially got reservations for just a couple of nights but incrementally extended our stay to five nights. This is, without exaggeration, the best motel I think I've ever stayed in. First of all, we were very late getting here - their website says reservations are only held until 1am, and we ended up not arriving until 3am - but a quick call to the front desk around 10pm and they assured us that was no problem, we'd have a room, and please have a safe trip so we could enjoy our stay. When we arrived, the night clerk - Mike - was incredibly helpful and efficient as well as being a delight to talk to; even though we had an early morning to get to, we ended up chatting with him for half an hour before stumbling back to our room to sleep. While Mike was a particular standout from a socializing aspect, all of the staff we interacted with were delightful, helpful, and competent, and went above and beyond many times in taking care of us; from helping us with stay extensions to telling us how we could get an important package overnighted to us. Our first floor room was absolutely lovely. Clean and pristine king bed (could even be a california king - it seems like it's long enough for me at 6'7"), table and chairs, and an amazing feature I didn't even know I should be looking for: solid, probably concrete, floors. No grungy motel carpet here! Just a nice smooth solid surface that hasn't gotten my socks or my bare feet dirty. The free wi-fi was functional; did not try a video call, but it chugged through web browsing and email without a hiccup and never went down or lost connection that I saw. The bathroom was a bit cramped, with a small toilet, but the shower is roomy, the water is hot, and the water pressure is great. There was a mini fridge (very useful), an iron and ironing board (which we didn't need, but it's lovely to have), and an AC/heater unit under the window. Nothing particularly of note about the AC aside from that it worked just fine. They warned us their private lot is pretty small; it's around back, with walkways through to the motel courtyard, but we didn't have any trouble parking at any point during our stay. If we had run into problems, Mike assured us during check-in that they'd take care of us one way or another. The surrounding area is lovely; barely a block away from the Warner Brothers studio lot (and the iconic water tower), on a street with groceries and restaurants aplenty within a few blocks, and relatively little traffic. The mexican restaurant next door has tasty food and enthusiastic and friendly staff; the ramen place a block down serves delicious noodles and broth and an array of fantastic appetizers as well; there's lots of other lovely-looking options we simply didn't have time to try this trip. We'll absolutely come back to this motel specifically in the future, even if next time it isn't the most convenient to whatever our LA plans are.

Yelp
This is a really cute motel/hotel. It looks like a motel but the rooms are pretty nice. I'd say it's no frills. It's clean. There's an outdoor pool and there's complimentary breakfast pastries from Porto's that are SO good. We could walk to a lot of restaurants; it's in a good location, safe neighborhood. We could also walk to the Warner Bros Ranch which is where we needed to be that day. I really liked it and would stay here again for sure!

Yelp
Funky retro 2 story motel had a cool look and vibe to it. The outdoor pool was a big plus. Reception gave us pool keys to hang out at as we were there before check in time. She then let us check into the room early which was greatly appreciated. -Lobby had the best free hot beverage station I have ever seen. The machine dispensed a large variety of drinks from Chai Tea Lattes (my favorite! ) Mochas, Cappuccinos, Various teas and other hot beverages! -Lobby also had some sort of pastries as the breakfast offerings, but they were snatched away before we had time to try any on the first day. I did manage to get a few on the day we checked out. They were ok but calling it a free breakfast was a stretch ... -Pool was very clean and nice. It had a vending machine with low cost snacks, but i couldn't get anything as i didn't have the my credit card and they wouldn't accept what i had on me at the time. -Pool was a bit on the smaller side. Perfect for when i was alone or with a friend, but at night time it was packed, and they closed at 9 (too early) -Rooms were renovated and very clean. Large variety of channels on TV. -A/C was perfect, beds were extremely comfy. -It was a very convenient location. Walking distance to CVS, restaurants, gas station with lots of alcohol to chose from. - Safe and quiet. -Staff was ok but not overly friendly, more like aloof. No problems with them though.

Yelp
I always enjoy staying at The Tangerine Hotel. The staff are terrific, always welcoming and treat guests as one would a friend from out of town. The rooms are comfortable and the pool is always clean and ideal for a refreshing swim during the hot summer days. I can't say enough about how great this place is. The complementary morning pastries are amazing, and if you're looking for suggestions of things to do while visiting, simply ask and you'll be surprised by the recommendations; dining, tours, sites, events, simple things to do. Again highly recommended.

Yelp
This sweet little motel is situated at the crossroads of Burbank and Toluca Lake. It's a typical 50's-60's motel that has been nicely renovated and retains it's vintage, but updated vibe. The rooms have a kind of funky vibe and feature very clean, but cold polished concrete floors. The furnishings are very IKEA-esque and cheap considering the Booking.com price tag of the room of $170 per night. The TV was much too small and the refrigerator served no purpose. Oh...and there was an IKEA chest of drawers situated right outside the bathroom where you would never expect anything to be. I must have bumped into that damn thing at least 4 times. All in all, I did not find the room to be very comfortable. I think that someone tried a little too hard to "design" a cool room on the cheap, and forgot the comfort. The staff, however, provided the most exceptional service. The parking lot is about the size of a postage stamp and only holds 5 or 6 cars. There is additional free parking in the alley along the back side of the building complete with bright lights and security cameras. The pool area is very nice and is up front. My heart of hearts wants to give The Tangerine 5 Stars mainly because of the staff service, and also because I love that this little jewel is a survivor of a once very cool LA. I applaud the ownership for keeping this little gem alive. The room itself rates a 1 star due to the lack of comfort and cheap feel for the cost of the room.

Yelp
We had a good stay here. We chose this motel due to its price and proximity to Universal Studios. It is a motel, so it doesn't have all the comforts of a big chain, and we were ok with that. Our room was clean and everything was in working condition. Pastries from the cafe next door and coffee are served for breakfast. The staff had excellent customer service skills. I appreciated that there was no carpeting, just as someone who is allergic to dust mites. Downside is that you can hear neighbors talking (and I'm hard of hearing) There are only a handful of parking spots in front and we were able to park there on all but one day. There is parking in the back which isn't far at all. The area itself seemed safe. There are plenty of good businesses within a 3 minute walk. We ate dinner at a yummy Japanese BBQ joint and brunch at the Maple Cafe. Vons (grocery store) was a 5-10 minute walk

Yelp
My octogenarian parents recently stayed at the Tangerine. I'm so glad I found this place. It's reasonably priced the rooms are nice and clean and the location is excellent with coffee, shops and restaurants all around it. The biggest selling point of the Tangerine is it staff. Everyone from the management to the cleaning staff were all so nice friendly and helpful. I will recommend this place for anyone that comes to visit visit me in California.

Yelp
We chose this hotel because of the location to the Warner Bros Studios. It's a great walk to restaurants too. It's a pretty clean hotel. The air conditioner did not cool fast enough for me and the faceplate was held up by a piece of paper. The shower head was loose, and the first night when the shower was on the water sprayed everywhere. The rug could be cleaner. The front lobby offers fantastic coffee and they have very friendly staff with fresh pastries every morning. The pool is really nice and clean. They do not have an elevator. And they are not equipped for handicap. We did enjoy staying here and it was very quiet.

Yelp
Location, location, location! You can walk to so much great food! But happy hour next door is delicious and convenient. Rooms are clean and fun and the staff is hardworking and feiendly. The pricing hurts a bit, but parking is free and did not need an UBer for meals...so it kinda worked out. Neighborhood is very safe and has a fun mix of the best of Los Angeles, literally blocks away is the iconic Bob's Big Boy...don't leave town without going there! We will definitely be back to The Tangerine

Yelp
Was a bit skeptical to try a motel but the reviews didn't steer me wrong! This spot is really cute, felt very safe and the room was a bit more spacious than I expected. It comes with a mini fridge, a very comfortable bed and daily housekeeping (even without requesting it). They have complimentary filtered water, coffee and tea at the front desk, as well as a microwave in case you want to warm up leftovers. They do offer pastries for breakfast but they didn't look appetizing to me (even though they come from a local bakery that is super popular) so I skipped those. Instead I tried some of the many fantastic eateries on the block and truly that's the best part - the location is really walkable and there are so many options for every meal, which made my stay so pleasant! So those were the hits! The misses are few but are as follows: *The AC/heat units are LOUD. Since I had to work remotely I ended up turning it off entirely while on Zoom because it was too noticeable. I'm not a light sleeper, but if you are, I recommend earbuds. *The shower amenities are overly scented so I highly recommend bringing your own if there's even a slight chance of being allergic. *There's a wooden statue in the room that is supposed to be decorative but it doesn't complement the space and because it's so large it's just weird and in the way. None of these are dealbreakers for me, but wanted to share to give my full review. I still highly recommend this location for your stay. My only regret is not trying the heated pool but I will definitely stay here again and will make sure to add pool time to my schedule.

Yelp
Thank you Eric for getting our reservation quickly. We resurfaced our tub and wanted to get out and the Tangerine is just up the street and a local icon so what the heck. Clean rooms, a small fridge for drinks, and close to everything in a hub of restaurants, coffee, and shopping. Very enjoyable.

Yelp
Excellent hotel with great staff, fun rooms, and nice location. I spent a couple days here with my son. We were very happy with everything. We used the pool and had a great time. We also had their nice morning pastries and made good use of their coffee/hot chocolate machine. I'd 100% stay here again the next time I'm in town.

Yelp
Not bad but it's basically a motel and has no business charging $300 per night. Location is decent but on a noisy thoroughfare. Best thing is free parking and decent homeboy pastries.

Yelp
I picked this Hotel because it was close to a friend I was visiting, and because it looked really cool. Also, the orange decor everywhere matched my orange luggage. The staff was very nice, the room was decorated neat and everything was clean. I also loved the vintage look of the place, it felt like I was in an old school movie.

Yelp
Considering the area, finding a hotel that isn't a hovel, but also doesn't force you to take out a second mortgage is a find in and of itself. What I didn't realize until showing up was how close it was to about two dozen restaurants and coffee shops. We only stayed three days, but we could have stayed three weeks and not eaten at the same place twice, all without having to drive. The only real complaint I have is that the water pressure could stand to be stronger, and I wished the poolside vending machine took card, but those are the smallest of nitpicks. Affordable, perfectly located, this place is going to be my go-to for trips to Burbank.

Yelp
This is a cute little spot perfect for your visit to Los Angeles. Located near everything (gas stations, cafes "we recommend the Red Maple cafe for breakfast" and a Mexican restaurant next door , Warner Bros studio tour, Universal Studios & City Walk. Great location , free parking, free coffee, and a fair price. The pool outside was really nice, warm, and welcoming and a great way to get a tan or relax in the daytime. Our room was exceptionally clean, included a mini fridge which was a huge plus since we brought takeout back to our room. It was really comfy & cozy overall and the bed was very comfortable. The staff both evening & morning was very welcoming, talked to us about our trip, even allowed us an extra hour to check out which is huge for us. I would definitely stay here again!!!

Yelp
Great little find for a super busy weekend in LA. And what a great time we had. This hotel stay was a party of that greatness. Great location. Great staff. Great pricing. Friendly tenants. Quaint and intimate. Headed Pool. Only downfall, was the inability to utilize the parking lot as it was under repairs. We were told it would be avail soon, but that was not before our leave. Decor is modern and trés chique. The name is tangerine and the lobby smells as such. Lots of little eateries within walking distance. Parking in the rear is available.

Yelp
The room was very spacious and the staff was super kind. There is well lit parking with security cameras on the backside of this property that feels safe. Definitely walk/drive to Bea Bea's for breakfast. You will not be disappointed. Our room could not use the deadbolt due to a door flaw which also allowed air and sound in. It made us feel unsafe. Luckily, this neighborhood felt safe and we were able to sleep ok.

Yelp
It was pretty cool staying here - basic 2 story motel setup though definitely cleaner. Comfortable room, price was decent for the area. Staff was relatively friendly. Enjoyed the coffee machine in the lobby. Decent food and beverage places within walking distance.

Yelp
This hotel was great! We stayed here for a night when we came to visit Universal Studios. The staff was super nice and helpful when checking in and checking out. There is a filtered water station, tea and hot drink section in the lobby that is available 24 hours. I am a very picky person when it comes to clean rooms. The room we were in was squeaky clean and the bed was comfy. Our room was located on the first floor and we didn't hear any noise from our neighbors or upstairs. All around great experience and will be booking The Tangerine for our next Los Angeles adventure!

Yelp
The Tangerine is my favorite hotel in the whole wide world! Have I been to every hotel in the whole wide world? Well, no. (What a grand life that would be!) But you know when you've found something truly special. Is this place a motel? In the strictest definition, it is. But like none you've ever seen. The love in this place is tang-ible (pun intended). Every room has a unique and GORGEOUS mural behind the bed, refusing to be ordinary. Every detail of the room is coordinated with their incredible citrus-colored retro-chic theme. You'd never think so much orange could make you feel so tranquil, but they found the way. The room also includes a small fridge, and a highly stealable engraved wine bottle opener. The exterior is just as cool! The only thing that could be considered a hiccup is their primary parking lot in front is super tiny, but they have a private dedicated lot behind the building easily accessible from the main hotel area, and even arriving back to the hotel in the late evening hasn't been an issue for parking as long as you have your parking tag on your rear-view. A big beautiful pool, snack and drink vending machines, breakfast goodies from local legend Porto's bakery along with a snazzy coffee bar, and tons of food options in easy walking distance in a very safe and chill neighborhood. You're also a short drive or Uber ride away from the Warner Brothers Studios and Universal Studios. When I visit LA but don't want to be in the crush of downtown, Burbank is where I hang and The Tangerine is where I hang my hat. Just typing this review made me miss this joint. I CANNOT WAIT to return for more adventures!

Yelp
I've stayed at a lot of hotels all over the place, and this one really impressed me. Kind staff. Pleasant smell upon entering the nicely decorated room. Great sized room with a comfortable king bed, a table, and a couple chairs. Plenty of closet and dresser space. A mini fridge. Free filtered water available at the front office. Excellent included breakfast pastries from the popular local Porto's bakery. Iron and ironing board in the closet. A safe available, although I didn't use it. Two large wall mirrors and a pivoting magnifying mirror. Multiple good dining options within walking distance. I was also impressed that even though I sometimes left in the early afternoon, I never once recall housekeeping disturbing me, yet every day once I returned back the bed was made and everything tidied up by them. Would definitely stay again!

Yelp
Very friendly staff, night shift and day shift. Coffee machine is awesome, and pastries in the morning were very good. Plenty of parking. Bed not so comfy- but all in all, was a great little stay.

Yelp
The hotel is in a great location; very close to Universal Studios which was why I chose it. There's plenty of parking although you wouldn't know it when you first drive up. We accidentally found additional parking at the rear of the building when we went around the block looking for street parking. The room was really big and the decor really cute. I appreciated the sweet smell of tangerines that came and went throughout the evening. The smell reminded me of the old Soaring over California ride where you fly over the orange groves. I enjoyed my stay but I would have slept better if the bed was firmer. Also, there was a black dresser placed in a very unfortunate location between the bed and the restroom that I kept walking into in the dark.

Yelp
Superb!!! This place is amazing. Frequently stay in motels in the city and WOW this place takes the cake. The location, ease of parking, cleanliness, staff and safety are all exceptional. Will absolutely be back. Really enjoyed the stay.

Yelp
Imagine a Motel 6 dressed up for Halloween as a Hotel. That's this place. It's NOT a hotel, it's a motel. I'd be willing to bet money that prostitutes turn tricks in these rooms and drug addicts get high in them. I stayed here last year and have been neglecting this review draft for a minute. We found this place on Hotels.com. Hotels.com be on straight BS when it comes to the quality of the place you're booking.... They be having paid reviews on the site, so you gotta be careful. Beware. Nowadays, when I book a hotel, I rely on Yelp and not the 5-star paid reviews on Hotels.com. You should do the same. Anyway, the pictures on Hotels.com made this place look cute. Real eclectic. It was all a DAMNED lie! Eclectic my ass. The lobby is cute. The staff were friendly. The rooms is where things take a turn for the worst; they're hella low budget. I'm talking a touch above a Motel 6. When I saw the room, I zipped all my bags up because I was scared they might have roaches or bedbugs or something, and I'll be DAMNED if I get bit or export said bugs. Notwithstanding the appearance of the room, we stayed. It was late af and I was hella incapacitated. Check out was a breeze. They had fancy muffins and basic coffee in the lobby. The staff were helpful and guided us to a breakfast spot up the street. Because of their staff, I'm giving them 3 stars. But the rooms need a hella makeover. STAT.
