We stayed here on an impromptu trip to LA; we initially got reservations for just a couple of nights but incrementally extended our stay to five nights.
This is, without exaggeration, the best motel I think I've ever stayed in. First of all, we were very late getting here - their website says reservations are only held until 1am, and we ended up not arriving until 3am - but a quick call to the front desk around 10pm and they assured us that was no problem, we'd have a room, and please have a safe trip so we could enjoy our stay.
When we arrived, the night clerk - Mike - was incredibly helpful and efficient as well as being a delight to talk to; even though we had an early morning to get to, we ended up chatting with him for half an hour before stumbling back to our room to sleep.
While Mike was a particular standout from a socializing aspect, all of the staff we interacted with were delightful, helpful, and competent, and went above and beyond many times in taking care of us; from helping us with stay extensions to telling us how we could get an important package overnighted to us.
Our first floor room was absolutely lovely. Clean and pristine king bed (could even be a california king - it seems like it's long enough for me at 6'7"), table and chairs, and an amazing feature I didn't even know I should be looking for: solid, probably concrete, floors. No grungy motel carpet here! Just a nice smooth solid surface that hasn't gotten my socks or my bare feet dirty.
The free wi-fi was functional; did not try a video call, but it chugged through web browsing and email without a hiccup and never went down or lost connection that I saw. The bathroom was a bit cramped, with a small toilet, but the shower is roomy, the water is hot, and the water pressure is great. There was a mini fridge (very useful), an iron and ironing board (which we didn't need, but it's lovely to have), and an AC/heater unit under the window. Nothing particularly of note about the AC aside from that it worked just fine.
They warned us their private lot is pretty small; it's around back, with walkways through to the motel courtyard, but we didn't have any trouble parking at any point during our stay. If we had run into problems, Mike assured us during check-in that they'd take care of us one way or another.
The surrounding area is lovely; barely a block away from the Warner Brothers studio lot (and the iconic water tower), on a street with groceries and restaurants aplenty within a few blocks, and relatively little traffic. The mexican restaurant next door has tasty food and enthusiastic and friendly staff; the ramen place a block down serves delicious noodles and broth and an array of fantastic appetizers as well; there's lots of other lovely-looking options we simply didn't have time to try this trip.
We'll absolutely come back to this motel specifically in the future, even if next time it isn't the most convenient to whatever our LA plans are.
