Google
We got happily surprised when we stumbled upon this little gem in Scottsbluff! A beautiful place with a modern touch, good wine selection and exquisite cuisine! We loved the tapas idea and loved that they offered food from all over the world. I only wished the meal would be a bit smaller, so we could taste even more. Sadly the atmosphere was a bit too loud and the tables was a little wobbly, but everything else was very high quality

Google
This place was highly recommended by a friend. We tried different plates and my thought was the portions were too small for the price. The plates we do recommend you order is the brussell sprouts and the pesto ravioli. I would go back and only order these two items and drinks. We tried the beef ravioli, the duck wings and ribs but they were okay. Again very small portions for the price. ($18-22 each plate)

8/17/2024-Still fantastic and a treasure to the dining community. Beyond words thrilled, we were kindly greeted at the door, promptly seated with great options both inside and outside with a great ambiance. Liz our host for the evening lined us up the drink selections of our choice and then the food, oohh my what a dining experience, fantastic presentation and everything tasted fantastic! I Highly recommended a visit and a this is a new addition to our favorites list.

Google
Traveling from DC area and Stopped in for dinner. Absolutely amazing restaurant. Food was delicious ( the beef ribs were the best I have ever had, the fried chicken sandwich was also great according to my husband). The service was super fast and friendly- Tim and Jill waited on us and really impressed us with their hospitality. I would give it more stars if I could. highly recommend.

Google
Great little restaurant- might have been an old service garage? Very comfortable casual dining experience, good variety of beers, whiskeys, and cocktails. Food very good. I would describe as eclectic? Flatbreads were very good. Staff friendly & service was good. Tried a pickle lager beer, canned in Lincoln, NE, not bad!

Google
It is a cute restaurant, nice atmosphere, a little bit loud inside, servers were friendly & attentive. However, we did not enjoy or like any of the dishes we ordered. We tried quite a few options and nothing was exceptional, we felt the dishes were not very flavorful. I did like the salad we got. They do have a patio which is nice if it’s warm out, it was very windy so after starting our meal on the patio we moved inside midway through.

Google
An absolutely beautiful restaurant with intimate seating. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Food has been A+ excellent every time we go. Can't recommend enough.

Google
My husband and I had an excellent dinner at this cute spot. The food was delicious and the service was also very good. Our server was friendly and offered advice on both food and wine choices. Excellent selection of wines by the glass.

Yelp
A delicious meal: above the usual local fare. Our appetizers: parmesan fries, cheese curds WITH raspberry jalapeno jam (seriously? Yes: amazing) artichoke dip. This was a great start. Our group of six were all pleased with our meals. I had the chicken katsu with gochujang Korean bbq spicy sauce. So crispy outside and retained great juiciness. For an evening where our work group overwhelmed the wait staff and kitchen, we waited about 20 minutes for a table on a Wednesday night at 715pm, and then an hour for our food. Our patience was rewarded. Our dishes were so well prepared. We are sorry to have been such an unexpected dining crowd for dinner: probably an extra couple dozen diners beyond the usual. The food: amazing, thank you!

Yelp
Stopped in for our first visit to Nebraska. Found the place on yelp and couldn't wait to try. Sitting we were told the daily specials and knew right away what we wanted. The server was welcoming and extremely personable. She checked in on us numerous times. The decor is simple and fun. Music played but nothing was over the top in volume. It was a comfortable experience. Our food came out hot and absolutely beautiful. It was a delicious meal and we were very pleased with our selection of restaurant and menu items. *I would give 6 stars if possible.*

Yelp
Good food. Trout always good to get and taste amazing. For a small town this place is a gem. The pretzels are good as well. Always brought the jar back for a refill

Yelp
Good selection of items. We had the cheese curds and the jalapeño artichoke dip for starters and they were both fabulous. The drink I had, a mixed berry margarita with mezcal, was delicious. My Flatbread was good but after a while was very over powering in taste. Fast service. Outside and inside seating available. Great find.

Yelp
The chicken parm was the best I've ever had. High-end presentation. Was extremely impressed with the quality and service. Went back the next night I wasn't town and wasn't disappointed.

Yelp
Excellent food, the grilled trout was delicious, brussel sprouts were cooked perfect and with delicious flavor, short rib ravioli was delicious. Whiskey mule was great. And local beer. They have happy hour and plenty of cocktail options. The restaurant ambience was cozy and pretty, the staff was friendly and professional. food didn't take long. A great find!

Yelp
Excellent food! We're from Chicago and rate it right up there for delicious & inventive preparations. Our server was super helpful. We started with nice cocktails, then split the Melon Salad, Brussels sprouts, and Katsu Chicken with house made kimchi. Will definitely come back again!
google avatar

Yelp
The atmosphere is nice. The staff were kind and helpful. Had ahi tuna and an appetizer of baba ganoush. Dessert was awful. The creme Brulee peeled. Tried to mention it to the waitress felt minimized and ignored on that.but everything else was very good

Yelp
What a gem in an unexpected location! Wonderful flavors, great presentation, tasty cocktails, and friendly, helpful staff. If you're a foodie and think you're out of luck in W. Nebraska, au contraire, mon frère. The Tangled Tumbleweed is not to be missed. The space is very laid back and music is lively/up tempo without being overbearing. Outdoor seating available, too.

Yelp
The food was fantastic and so was the service. My only warning is that the food may be a little over priced. I ordered to soft shell crab sandwich and was surprised by how expensive it was considering it doesn't come with a side. That being said, it was a good portion and I didn't leave hungry.

Yelp
One word for this place. AMAZING! We were traveling through and stopped for the night. The hotel clerk mentioned some other places but I found this on Yelp and I am so glad we did. What a treat! What a treasure! If you like tapas - which I do, you will love this place. Everything from the short ribs to the mac and cheese was perfectly prepared to bring out the best flavor in all the foods. The wine list was as robust as the food coming out of the kitchen. I'm trying to find something wrong but the only thing I can think of is that my stomach was just too dang small!
google avatar

Craig L.

Yelp
Great service and outstanding food. The modern take on classics like risotto, trout, and Brussel sprouts reminded us dining in more metropolitan areas. Western/country decor with their wine selection proudly on display made us wish we lived closer and not just passing through.

Yelp
Great food! whipped wasabi is delicious!!!! Excellent service!! A little snug, but very comfortable!

Yelp
After sire seeing all day we stopped here for dinner. So very happy we did! The restaurant was clean and quiet. The servers were friendly and efficient! The food....AMAZING! We could not have been more happy or more full! Thank you for all your hard work to make this a special place.

Yelp
This place is so adorable. Reminds me of a restaurant I'd find back home in Denver. It's trendy and has a really cute atmosphere. Parking is easy and free. Becca is so chill and chatted with my mom and I, everyone working here was nice! We had quite a few different tapas and everything was delicious! Loved the poutine especially. The beer I had was great too. Best restaurant in town for sure!
google avatar

Melinda S.

Yelp
Food was awesome, service was amazing, and ambiance was chill/relaxed!! Because we ventured off course and found this cute spot, I'm disheartened to know I probably won't ever have another chance to visit. The owner stop by our table multiple times and were amazing!! She tried to guess what state we were all from (Mississippi, Arizona, California and Colorado) and I believe she got 2 of 4. 10 stars out of 5!!!

Yelp
Dining here was an absolute pleasure. We ate outside on the patio, which sadly had a number of annoying flies, but the ambiance is great. The patio furniture gives it a great neighborhood backyard picnic feel. The menu is also all tapas which is perfect for someone like me who wants to try a bunch of things and share with the table. Honestly you can't seem to go wrong wit this menu. I was especially a fan of the jalapeño artichoke dip which actually had some nice heat to it and really crisp crostinis for a base. I'm so used to seeing spinach artichoke dip so this was a pleasant surprise. But then there's also the meatball skillet, the short ribs, and the ahi tuna, all of which you shouldn't miss out on... and maybe even order two.

Yelp
Wonderful stop on our journey. Darling space with great wait staff. Food was out of this world. Highly recommend the shrimp lavosh. Truffle fries - crispy and delicious.

Yelp
Came here while passing through Nebraska and had such a great experience. Originally I planned on sitting outside with my dog but after arriving here the waitress said it was okay to sit inside with her, in the ac. She recommended the berry margarita and was it delicious!! I'm a huge margarita fan and my favorite is usually mango or strawberry but this one quickly became my new favorite it was that good! I ordered the Greek pita and added chicken to the meal and it was absolutely delicious, I loved the combination of fresh produce and crispy pita and tender chicken. Definitely a 10/10 meal and a wonderful experience. I wish I knew the waitress name to rave about her but I unfortunately I don't know it. She was amazing though, very sweet and helpful.

Yelp
I have so many great things to say about this place. First, the food is AMAZING! I have yet to try something I wasn't a fan of. The fig and Brie bruschetta--my favorite, hummus--amazing and so creamy, short rib--delicious, the biscuits and gravy--to die for!!! Secondly, the service is good. They stay busy so have some patience because it's worth it!!! Lastly, the atmosphere is so warm and cozy especially on Thursday nights when they host a cigar and whiskey night! Oh, their drinks are spectacular...my favorite so far is the Italian Margarita!!! As a traveling nurse from Dallas, I was missing all the great food my city has to offer but this place makes me feel perfectly at home.

Yelp
Pricey, but fantastic food, options and service. Wish they carried more of the local Papa Moon cider options.
google avatar

Yelp
Good service, good food, nice atmosphere. Would have like to try several things but the portions are larger than normal and I got full!!
google avatar

Adriana K.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere, surprising whiskey tasting available. Good wine and the tapas are enough as small meal. Really liked.

Yelp
The short rib is excellent and I paired that with a strawberry salad that was fresh and very flavorful!

Yelp
Great food, wine, staff and atmosphere! Highly recommend - culinary delights you won't find anywhere else in town

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised to find a tapas restaurant in semi-rural Scottsbluff. Service was attentive and food was good. I had Avocado toast (Greek; there are two other varieties); husband had chicken skewers and a salad and he enjoyed both. Raspberry cheesecake (husband) and triple berry tart (me) completed the meal and both were good, although we should have done what we usually do and shared a dessert.

Yelp
We went to The Tangled Tumbleweed yesterday while we waited for our hotel room to be ready and we were very pleased. We had a glass of Malbec from Basel Vineyard and the staff were very friendly; we knew we were coming back for dinner. We ate dinner on the patio - very relaxing, music playing - it was wonderful. Their Tapas menu is great! We had the special of the day - Ceviche with Shrimp & Octopus, Baked Brie with Kahlua & Pecans and a bottle of the Basel Vineyard Malbec - all we're EXCELLENT! Go for the experience, go for the Tapas, go for the Wine selection. Just GO - you will be pleasantly surprised to find this gem in Scottsbluff

Erin E.

Yelp
Really enjoyed our meal while visiting Scottsbluff! Delicious and very creative tapas and salads! Glad we found The Tangled Tumbleweed!

Yelp
First let me start by saying I'm a cook, my father was a chef...I like GOOD food. So if my review seems a bit on the critical side....c'est la vie. There's nothing else like it in this area and for that it should get 5 stars. My wife and I have been there 2 times and she thought the food was great. I thought the food was good. ...Let's start with the Pork Belly. I've had Pork Belly in New Orleans, Berlin, Denver & I make it myself. This was like eating a smoked pork chop with a lot of fat. The flavors were good but the cooking technique left it 'chewy' and on the tough side. Pork Belly should melt in your mouth. This last time I ordered the Chicken Salad Sandwich. The first thing I noticed was the chicken was cooked & picked through real well. No pieces of tendon or gristle i.e. very well prepared chicken. Veggie's were cut to a perfect size with the right amount added to the Chicken Salad. Well Done ! A little Tarragon, Pine Nuts and a bit of apple would add little extra flavor...but still, Well Done. Lastly. The beer selection gets a 0 (zero). There is nothing on tap. Domestic beers are all light beers in bottles and the rest is (generally) over hopped 'craft' beers. (in bottles). A full bodied American Lager would be just fine, thank you very much. So with all of that said, I love this place. My wife and I will continue to enjoy the food, service and atmosphere of this Great unique little restaurant...as you should too. ..see you there. Cheers

Yelp
Perfect date night location. So cute inside nice outdoor space. Had the Mac and cheese and the seared tuna both amazing and let's not forget about the pretzels. So many drink options!

Yelp
Here are some photos of our valentine's dinner. The tumbleweed does an amazing job, as always, every time we go. If you're loving your food, buy a round for the cooks!

Yelp
Fantastic food. Was looking for anything half decent while driving across the country and absolutely blown away to find this in rural Nebraska. I would be a regular here if it were anywhere in USA. Salad, fig and brie bruschetta, fried catfish on fried green tomatoes, all excellent, and our favorite was fried brussel sprouts with blue cheese, bacon, and pickled grapes. Only nitpick is they don't have espresso drinks on the menu.

Kasey M.

Yelp
What amazing food and employees. I love going here when I want to treat myself. If your from out of town this is one place you don't want to miss. Stop and take time to get a good bite to eat. Unique food and clean environment.

Yelp
decent food, but bring more money than you think. flavored pretzels cost me over 5 bucks once, and a shot of scotch was $13. it's a cute place. the food is okay. but keep in mind that they serve appetizers, not actual dinners. also gives a little bit of a snobby vibe.
google avatar

Tim T.

Yelp
This place is great. Love the service, love the staff, love the little seasoned pretzels. Valentines pre fixe menu was excellent. Appetizers of salad and soup yummy. Steak cooked to perfection. Both wife and I cleared our plates. Desserts were good. Not a fan of the lemon tart. Have somebody make creme brûlée instead. We shared a Manhattan before dinner and some wine during. Recipe for a solid nights sleep. We will return again and again.

Yelp
Visiting from California and this place is really cute. The inside is decorative nicely and they have a great selection of wine. My boyfriend and i ordered the humus, Brussels sprouts, and pesto pasta and was really good and filling. Our server was amazing.

Dave M.

Yelp
YIKES, this place is FABULOUS, no disrespect, but I can't believe I am in Nebraska. New York or California.....but Nebraska. Wow, incredible. Creative Chef combinations of culinary delight. We will be back tomorrow. Service was exceptional and presented with a flourish

D+K S.

Yelp
Good food and good drinks. Service is decent. Thursday nights are cigar night on the patio.

Yelp
Passing through Scottsbluff and found this gem. Excellent food and friendly service. Cute space. If it were in my town, I'd be here every week. Highly recommend.

Yelp
This place was great! We were traveling through town looking for a good place to eat after being in the car all day. The menu is very unique with some great choices. Service was good, and food was even better. We had the brussel sprout skillet, prime rib skillet, won tons, and lavash. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Tabz S.

Yelp
Surprisingly good for the town it is in. We went in at 6 pm on a Saturday and it wasn't busy but got busier as the evening went on. Food was great - menu was a bit bready, cheesy and fatty - in short, amazing! We shared 4 apps between 2 adults and 2 kids (one fell asleep which made for a great dinner) for $48 before tip. Service was friendly but a bit slow. Overall, very good especially for our low expectations of the town where chili's made the top 10!

Brittney O.

Yelp
I'm in this area once a year. I only stay overnight to eat dinner at The Tangled Tumbleweed....sometimes two nights in a row! This chef is great with unique flavor pairings and he elevates classic ones. Bulgogi. Short ribs. Lavash. Bruschetta. Even dessert is delicious. In a work week on the road full of French fries and subs...this place is such a welcomed relief.
google avatar

Dale V.

Yelp
We went there two nights in a row recently when we were in Scottsbluff for the Tour De Nebraska bike ride. Great wine selections. All the small plates were creative and very good. My favorites were the lavash and the Brussels sprouts. Also got my wife a gift of sea salt wash.

Food C.

Yelp
You will be surprised. Salads, flatbread, dessert compete with the best elsewhere. Flavorful and creative. Definetly don't miss. Prices are very reasonable.
google avatar

Annika S.

Yelp
Let me start off with these darn pretzels.... I enjoy these pretzels more than dot's pretzels, and if that doesn't say something I'm not sure what will. Great menu selection, especially since I'm from out of town, and did not expect this in Scottsbluff. Cute dining area outside, nice to relax in the shade! Pork sliders were excellent as well.

Joe B.

Yelp
Amazing find in rural Nebraska. Stopped for late lunch on our way through and couldn't have been happier. Fantastic food and really great beer selection too.
google avatar

Marty S.

Yelp
This was a rare find. The food was creative and delicious and they have an impressive wine list, many of which are international. The service was also wonderful, making this a great experience for me and my wife.

Susan G.

Yelp
Incredible food! Super friendly staff! Great selection of adult beverages. Love this place!!!

Yelp
Fantastic food and wonderful service. We were en-route from Rapid City to Boulder and stopped in Scotts Bluff for lunch. We were pleasantly surprised by the menu since we were in the middle of Nebraska. I had the foie gras French toast and hubby had blue corn skillet cornbread. Really delicious!! Highly recommend stopping there instead of fast junk food on the road!
