The Tannery

This was a beautiful spot. It was great to see the old building transformed with new shops — it creates a special mood and unique vibe. There are plenty of shops and cafés, which made it a perfect place to spend time with my wife. I’ll definitely be going back regularly.

Indoor and outdoor mall of interesting shops. Beautiful building with stained glass and wood. Some wonderful finds. Take time to stroll and browse - don’t miss HAPA for imaginative items from local creators. Tea room, used-clothing store, gift shops, jewellery, old-fashioned apothecary... There’s also a cinema. Fabric shops and Bellbird Bakery are among the Boardwalk tenants. Bellbird has some good vegan options.

Really lovely spot, it is so beautiful inside, just nice to walk inside. There are so many lovely shops that I would have bought so much if I could! Amazing clothing shops and homeware shops (one had such lovely pottery). There is also a great Mediterranean shop. Great parking. Really glad I found out about this place for leaving Christchurch !

What a beautiful place! There are plenty of shops, though I have to admit it's generally on the pricier side. Still, I loved browsing and admiring the stunning architecture. The staff I encountered were all very friendly, and the car park has plenty of space.

Love this place - cool shops - beautiful building. One thing I do think though is there aren’t any real ‘stand out’ places for lunch and this lets the place down. I often leave earlier than I would like as I am hungry and nothing there is that great. But great wee shopping centre to visit.

I loved The Tannery. There are so many great little shops, and it's such a beautiful shopping centre, and very different to your typical mall. The cinema has great service, and the other shops are so unique. For example, there's an apothecary, a sewing shop, a 2nd-hand book library, a 2nd-hand clothes store, and many more! Can't wait to go back.

Lovely to visit here. Some nice places to stop for lunch or afternoon tea. Great movie theatre. And some nice little shops.

A beautiful boutique mall with a vintage vibe Even though I’ve lived in Christchurch for most of my life, I only visited this gem for the first time while attending a wedding, and I was absolutely blown away. It offers a great variety of shops, fantastic places to eat and drink, and a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. Whether you’re looking for unique shopping experiences or just a place to unwind, The Tannery is well worth a visit
