The Tannery is an amazing place. I have been going here from 2014. From spray tans to more. I highly recommend the Tannery. I have sensitive skin and their products they use are top-notch. The people working at the Newport location are great. They make you feel comfortable in uncomfortable positions at times.

Very nice and friendly, also, every time I come every single person that works there just does an amazing job at sugaring. It honestly feels like you’re just hanging out with one of your friends chatting about the weekend or what you’re doing this week. It’s very relaxed and very welcome welcoming.

Great experience at Tannery as always! Thank you for helping me get vacation ready! Today I was tanned by Jessica and although she has only been with the company for a few weeks, she did an awesome job! She was so friendly and helpful and really took her time to make sure that my tan was even and looked amazing! Thanks again!

I usually visit Mercedes for my Brazilian sugaring appointment. She is very welcoming and patient with nee customers, and is very quick at her service. Needless to say I am impressed and would love to continue visiting if im in the area

Definitely will be back for my tanning needs! The spray tan I received fooled a makeup artist at a wedding two days later. Clean shop with fun jewelry and boutique shopping aesthetic. I did the quickie tan and was very happy with the staff, service, product, etc. Location is on the second floor of the address. My only thing is I definitely smelled like tanning product for a few days of course. If anyone has any tips for that I would love to hear them. They also offer a new customer discount which is really generous of them. Super close to John Wayne airport to Grab a tan on your way home from work.

Oops, my original review said machine sprayed me, but it was a person that sprayed me. It happened so fast, I didn't fully recall. I remembered going into a room on the right as you entered the business near cash register/front desk. It was dark/black walls with tinted/ blacked out glass/window and one chair to set your things. ----------------- I didn't need a spray tan. Naturally have some color to me, but I got a giftcard for Christmas and finally decided to use it. I wanted to be darker than I already was for a cruise. This was my first time ever getting a spray tan, so I read all of their FAQ online. Booked an appointment through their online portal. Arrived and this location was clean with cute merchandise for sale and ac was definitely on because it felt like an ice box. The female staff member that helped me was nice and friendly. I told her I wanted something darker than what I am now. I believe she suggested their level 3, or whichever one was the darkest. I was advised to wear what I felt comfortable with or nothing at all. WTH-- I just went nude because why not. I personally don't mind. Hahaha. They give you sticky feet things to stand on. Quick and painless. She came back in to spray the areas that were missed by the machine. Once done, they full blasted a fan on your naked body, haha! It was cooolllddd, but necessary to make sure you're dried before leaving. In conclusion, the tan developed, but it was underwhelming for me. I wanted to be darker than I was. If anything, it just added a nice even glow. My ankles weren't even, so there were streaks. My family said I looked about the same. I probably won't get a spray tan again anytime soon. The experience wasn't bad at all, just the result wasn't what I wanted.

I absolutely love the tannery. These girls are always in a good and uplifting mood. They always make sure that you are comfortable no matter what service you choose! They absolutely kill every service i have had done and i can honestly say that i will not leave the tannery anytime soon. 10/10!!!!

So amazing!! Officially my new go to spot! I need a spray tan for a photoshoot and it came out flawless and super natural!! Annissa was fantastic!

Tan was stunning (I got the medium shade quickie and left it on for 4.5 hours) , office was beautiful and clean & the girls were so nice and so helpful. I also got the "tan extender" kit and it did definitely help with keeping my tan even while I was in and out of the water in Hawaii. Tan faded evenly and didn't leave me patchy.

Talk about a 180 turn around, this establishment has gone down the toilet. Miranda was my waxer and I kid you not I had scabs for a month after she did my Brazilian sugaring. Understandably I would have anxiety to return here, but I've been taken good care of by Kayla. Whoever was on the phone today was the rudest, abrupt, and crappy service provider. Seriously she had a very negative attitude towards me on the phone when I was explaining why I did not want to be placed with Miranda, it's alarming that I was even booked with her when I asked to have a note on my account that I would never have to see her again. Unfortunately they already have my $ so I'll finish my last sugar and never come back. I first found this place as a referral many many years ago, and now I see an extremely high turn over and Inconsistent employees. Today was definitely the last nudge needed to be officially over this place & felt the need to not recommend publicly.

10/10! I made an appointment over the phone and the receptionist was SO nice. I showed up this morning and this place is so cute inside! It's clean, smells really good lol, and they have cute boutique style items you can buy! Mercedes did my airbrush tan & she made me feel so so comfortable and very welcome! I was also surprised with how fast I was in & out of there, and my tan looks gorgeous! I will definitely come back in the future & recommend this spot!

A+++ customer service!! They were able to squeeze me in just before closing which basically SAVED me because I had an event the next day and wouldn't have had any other time to go anywhere. The girl at the counter was very nice, helpful & friendly. I'm pretty pale so I requested the "medium" spray tan. The process was like most places that use hand spray (not auto machine spray). Fairly quick. I wasn't supposed to shower till the next morning but decided not to shower esp cause I was running late. Everyone complimented me on how great I looked with my tan. It wasn't too sticky and didn't smell like fumes, spray, anything bad, or artificial, the way most other spray tans smell. I hate taking showers after getting a spray tan because I feel like it gets too much lighter and then on my skin it starts looking patchy. So for me, personally, spray tans last as long as I don't shower. Aside from that probably a couple days. (This is also bc I wear a lot of transdermal medical patches so those areas collected more spray tan than my regular skin heh).

I called and spoke to Laura. She was very kind and helpful, she answered all my questions. This is my first spray on tan. I just wanted a light color on my legs only. I made an appointment for the next morning. The shop is small but very clean and nicely merchandised. Crystal, my technician, was a darling. The whole experience from walk in to out the door was 15 minutes. I am very happy with my results and will return. I showed my daughter (she wanted to see for future reference) and she was impressed. You made 2 new clients!

I love coming to the Tannery all the girls are well-trained. I always come out with an amazing tan. I highly recommend the Tannery.

I came here too get a spray tan right before my Valentine's Trip to aruba and it was by far the worst spray tan i have gotten. I was so embarrassed to be in my bikini or to lift my arms. You can see in the photo how terrible my spray tan was.

I went to the Newport location because the girl who usually does my spray-tans was traveling. The place is super cute and the young woman at the front desk was friendly and helpful. I only waited for a few minutes and then was taken back to the tanning room by my specialist, Mercedes. She's adorable and totally professional. **I got $10 off because it was my first visit, which I didn't even know was available, but Mercedes hooked me up! My tan was FLAWLESS for two weeks! I WILL go back to Mercedes next week! The ONLY reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I wanted my friend, Kelsey, to get a reward for referring me, but they don't have a referral system which is lame, but that will hopefully change soon :)

I went to The Tannery for the first time yesterday & I'm not kidding when I say this is the best tan I've ever gotten. Annissa was so sweet, quick, & did an incredible job. The tan is so natural, doesn't smell, & is the best/most realistic tan I've ever gotten. I'm so, so happy & will 100% be back!

I've been going to The Tannery since 2019. And I met Mercedes a couple years ago, and have been going to her since! She's amazing, and she can honestly get my sugar done so quick, sometimes in under 10 mins. But she isn't just my sugaring girl she's a friend, we always get to catch up during my appointments! Before I know it, the hard parts of my sugar are over lol. Mercedes has done a spray tan for me once too and it was great! She's also a great teacher, she will train the newbies sometimes, and one time she asked if they could practice on me and I said yes. She was in the room and guided them as they sugared me, and they did a phenomenal job too. And it was perfect because I went back to one of them when Mercedes was on maternity leave. I always try to get my group of girlfriends to switch from waxing to sugaring and when I refer them to the tannery they always ask for my girl Mercedes. Also the membership is super convenient if you like to get consistently sugared each month, it saves you money and then you get a certain percentage off if you need any other services done. 10/10 recommend this place. Found this place because my usual gal was unavailable and I needed a tan stat. The girl who did my spray tan was super sweet. Absolutely no complaints about the experience! Felt super comfortable and relaxed. However, after my tan developed within 10.5 hours, I noticed some patchy spots that developed in certain areas. I suppose they're not terrible due to the fact that they can be covered up with shoes, etc. but was hoping for a more even tan in some areas. So far though I love the results on the rest of my body.

I have gone in twice now for brazilian sugars and honestly I have had the best experience at the tannery that I've ever had anywhere! the girls are amazing and so sweet...the vibe of the office is adorable and so comfortable. I tell everyone to go here and I will continue to be going myself!

I had an amazing first spray tan experience with Miranda! I'm going to Vegas for my birthday at the end of the month and wanted to do a trial run of my spray tan. Miranda took the time to listen to what I wanted and my concern about looking orange, and she made me feel very comfortable with the whole process. I chose the Quickie Tan and am so happy! It looks very natural, even now on day 4. I will definitely be back for the birthday weekend tan!

Quick and easy! Looks like a sun tan rather than a spray tan. My tan stays for a week!

Went in yesterday and had Jillian spray tan me! This is the best my spray tan has ever looked and it was so quick and easy! The tan didn't smell either I am so happy with it! I did the darkest tan for 10-12 hours!

Mercedes is amazing! She is very dedicated and enthusiastic about her work and cares for her clients! She is extremely gentle when I get sugared and very patient. And she always takes her time with her work. And when I have a big event or vacation she is my girl for my spray tan! I always leave the tannery feeling refreshed from my sugar and looking extra good after a spray tan! I will continue being a loyal clients to Mercedes!

I want to update my review after having the manager, Mercedes call. You can tell she takes pride in the business and was super apologetic for my tan situation. She explained to me why my tan turned out the way it did and offered to have me come in again with her to get personally sprayed. After speaking to her she put me at ease and I'm willing to give this place a second shot. Thank you for being so kind over the phone and acknowledging all my concerns

Best in class, I've been using tanning saloons for the past 10 years, The Tannery is the best no doubt. Appointments are easy to book, when needed they waited for me 10 minutes before closing just to make my day. They are not cheap when it comes to cleaning and using the best cleaning matterials Thank you for years of services

My medium tan went on smoothly and lasted pretty well considering how long I spent in the pool the next day. I appreciated the pointers I was given to help prolong the tan.

1st of all, Im so glad I found this place! Close to where I live. I booked with the Tannery at Newport Beach location on Yelp With Mercedes.. they got back to me shortly through email and text And for reminders for up and coming appointment. From the minute I arrived, the front desk greeted me. They were friendly. And kind. No attitudes!! Mercedes came out and introduced herself , I booked a spray tan with her. She was awesome!!! And she made me feel at ease. This was my 2nd time ever getting a spray tan. I was nervous! But that all went away with her the organic spray tan was great!! I got a double dip Mercedes knows what she is doing!! Her and the staff were so professional and the spa was clean and orginized. I will be coming back soon!! Thanks guys

I found The Tannery a few years ago and have never looked back I've done spray tans and sugaring and both services are top notch. The tans dry extremely even and look so nice!! The sugaring is the least painful and longest lasting sugaring I've ever had (and I've tried a few places). The staff here is super friendly and make you feel so comfortable even when you are getting your lady bits sugared I've enjoyed my services with everyone I've worked with here!

Heard about their sugaring groupon and decided to give it a try for the first time. Sugaring was definitely painful if you haven't tried it, but Lindsey was super friendly and would calmly talk to me the whole time I was in pain. She was pretty efficient and finished within 10 minutes! Love how they decorated the interior where the sign-in area is and even added a nespresso machine. My only concern was the girl at the cashier, who acted pretty cold. After I paid, she said I was good to go without even looking up from the computer. No "thanks for coming" or "see you soon!"

Came here at first with a Groupon and though they are a little on the higher price range fir sugaring they are absolutely worth it! Super kind, helpful, and understanding staff. After a scheduling mix up at a different sugaring salon I was in a need of an appointment ASAP. They squeezed me in that day! Though they were super busy I never felt rushed, left behind, or uncomfortable. In a pandemic it is tough to feel comfortable doing things but this salon is SO clean, well maintained, and everyone is actively attentive to safety. Definitely would recommend The Tannery.

My first spray tan ever & will absolutely be coming back! Mercedes was amazing, she made me feel so comfortable & answered my millions of questions. The place is super cute. My tan turned out PERFECT! I was nervous since DHA tends to irritated my skin, but I didn't have any reaction with the organic tan. I went with the medium shade which was a perfect sunkissed shade for my winter pale skin. I didn't smell like fake tan too too bad, a little bit prior to my first shower but afterwords, nada. I'll be looking like a bronzed beauty in Miami this weekend!
