The Tasty Yolk

We thoroughly enjoyed our freshly made breakfast sandwiches and cucumber lemonade nestled in the front window counter-top-nook while listening to upbeat, club tunes. The egg was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of moisture and piles of crispy bacon. Driving through Connecticut this was a choice local spot for grabbing a quality meal.

I live in Stamford, but was in the area, so a friend recommended I stop into tasty yolk for a quick breakfast. The banker which has two eggs spicy aïoli, and brisket was unbelievable. The brisket was so tender and flavorful and it was the perfect breakfast sandwich it hit the spot! Christina was such a sweetheart at the register and gave me a lot of great recommendations. She’s super knowledgeable and very friendly. She those the menu inside and out. I wanted a low sugar drink and they carry spindrifts so she recommended that as well. Thank you so much for the help Christina you are awesome and this place is great! Food is 10/10!

Absolutely phenomenal breakfast sandwiches. Ordered The Tasty and was pleasantly surprised by the portion size, with a delicious sandwich and the rest of our party enjoyed. This was further enhanced by the vibrancy of the establishment when we went, full of locals, all enjoying the space and surrounding area while grabbing a bite to eat. Only issue, was a bit of a long wait time, but an understandable one.

One of the best breakfast burritos I’ve had in a long time (I had the one with bacon). It was a little smaller than I expected, but definitely worth it for the taste. This place is living up to their name with the eggs.

Burger Craving Satisfied- level 10/10. We just picked up takeout after a hard day- we needed some comfort. lol. We had never tried youre burgers before (only awesome breakfast sammies), but holy hell. That burger crunch supreme- WOW. We got that and the Porch burger and a side of hand cut fries that were perfectly salted and super hot and crunchy. The whole meal was everything we wanted.. and I'll prolly be back within the week for another supreme cuz I'll be dreaming about that one. haha. Nicely done Tasty Yolk- thank you!!

I've been here a handful of times, and each meal is just as, if not, more delicious than the last! Highly recommend Tasty Yolk- while it is easy to sit down and eat- theres many places to picnic nearby! Convenient location, fresh food, & they take mobile orders! Prices are as expected

First time here.. service was great upon arrival. They greet you right away. Food was really good.. I had a breakfast sandwich with eggs and brisket, it was quite tasty! The wait time was average to receive Food. It's a small place but the food is really good and the portion size was fantastic! I will be back!

Tasty Yolk was my first breakfast sandwich shop I tried when I moved to CT and it’s still my favorite 5+ years later. The toma hits the spot everytime and I love that I can text my order in. Well worth the drive now that I live further away.

I've walked by this business for months and finally got a chance to try it this morning. My party tried the banker (brisket), the pig (bacon), and the tasty (chorizo). These were breakfast sandwiches on a roll with cheese and your choice of meat. All three sandwiches were tasty and had a good serving of meat. The establishment is small with indoor and outdoor tables. There is only street parking here. Its a cool place to pop in for lunch or breakfast in the Black Rock/Fairfield area. Looking forward to trying them for lunch. Prices are reasonable.

Decent sandwich but the bread on the cubano wasn't toasted enough so it was a bit soggy. Also they don't have a bathroom for patrons which is kind of ridiculous. Had to go in smoother nearby restaurant which was a little awkward.

Great food, great eggs, great selection. I think they put a lot of salt on their chicken so I ordered mine often without seasoning. They now have an option where you can text your order ahead of time. The space is never really packed it generally fluctuates every time I'm there. Most of the time I order takeout definitely a good option for grab and go.

Black Rock is the fancy part, best hidden gem of Bridgeport, Connecticut, and must-visits are The Tasty Yolk for the perfect Bacon, Egg and Cheese (BEC), and Saint Mary's by the Sea, spectacular walkways that offer stunning views of Long Island Sound and Black Rock Harbor with the amazing smell and high dose of the freshest salty sea air wafting towards me! Craving cherished McDonald's Egg McMuffin, The Tasty Yolk's gourmet version of an Egg McMuffin is the one that you'll want more, and for the same price. The unboring The Tasty Yolk's Egg McMuffin, "Pig" - Bacon, 2 pillowy over-medium organic eggs with gooey yolk, melty American cheese, on a toasted Parker House Roll is really a marvelous egg sandwich first, with bacon and cheese!

Another great taste experience at Black Rock Tasty Yolk. We tried 2 of the July specials: Hoo Dat and the Good Morning Clucker. They were both so amazing that we went back and had them again. The cucumber lemonade is so good and we like to get that every time we visit. Be sure to text ahead your order to avoid long wait times. And if you pay in cash you get a slight discount.

This is a breakfast egg sandwich lover's dream. So many menu options, but unfortunately I was only able to pick one. As much as I wanted to eat something sweet, full of bacon and cheese, I opted for the Slenderizer to prep for beach season. I swapped full eggs for egg whites and the Swiss cheese for Feta. Also got the smashed potato on the side. The wrap was lovely, packed to the brim with spinach. It was light but very tasty and filled me up. The green hot sauce was a nice condiment for some spice. The smashed potato was just a half of a plain white potato smashed with a spatula. No seasoning or spice, so grab some hot sauces for dipping. I totally would love one of these in my state and neighborhood!

A lot of different foods than most any other Cafes or restaurants and or breakfast cafe's. Tasting Yolk is great snd newish how they make their food great sandwiches !! Go and see n eat everyday you won't miss a day with another taste of their !! Believe me the trucks snd the building restaurants thrre are two one in black rock snd another in Stratford. I haven't been to STRATFORD JUST BLACK ROCK THE TWO THAT STARTED Tsty yoke are the main cooks in Black rock ! The two of them are greatests in Tasty yolksters ! Just go and see then TASTE YOU WILL GO BACK DAY AFTER DAY THE FOOD IS THE BEST OVER MOST OTHER SELLING FOODS! I don't really write reviews, but this place was GREAT. Especially as a gluten free eater, their GF bun was sooo good, almost like a biscuit, not like most places dry cardboard like GF options. The staff was friendly and helpful to first time visitor, and my chorizo breakfast sandwich was on point. Don't skip the hot sauces offered when you pick up your order, we tried both the green and red, and both were delicious. Worth the wait!

A bacon egg and cheese is the way many people in this part of the country begin their day. It's a simple, comforting, and reliable. The people at The Tasty Yolk decided to one up an already perfect breakfast sandwich by adding a burger patty to it! And it works, PERFECTLY! The website lists this crazy sandwich, The Egg Burglar, as a "special", which leads me to believe that it's a limited time only menu item. I hope they reconsider its limited time status because this sandwich was love at first bite. I also ordered the Good Morning Clucker, which I think is also a limited time special sandwich. This thing made my head spin-- it was massive, sweet, salty, crunchy, soft and a sticky mess once you pour the syrup all over it. It's the type of deliciousness that'll make you want to sign up to a gym the next day. This place is a must try if you're in the area.

A few weeks ago, I visited the Tasty Yolk in Bridgeport as a part of my tour of the 2022 CT Yelp Top 25. Tasty Yolk is Number 2 on the List. They're open for B, L and D most days and serve creative breakfast and non-breakfast sandwiches, burritos, etc. But I was moved to drive an hour for a Breakfast Sandwich Special that had an All Star Team of fantastic ingredients. Two eggs. Heirloom Tomato. Arugula Pesto. Roasted Red Pepper Relish. A Terrific Fresh Bun. Sounds great? Now add Foodie Fav Burrata! They called it the Burrata Bing. It was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had in recent years. Oozy. Juicy. Acidic. Colorful. It was awesome. The iced coffee and potatoes with house hot sauces were good too. The shop had a nice modern aesthetic. There was some seating, but you wouldn't plan a big group meeting there. Most people got takeout when I was eating there. Service was friendly. If I'm anywhere near a Tasty Yolk, there's a good chance I'm stopping to try more of the menu. Five Stars

Wonderful breakfast spot! The shop itself had a tasteful design and cute indoor and outdoor seating. Even the logo for the restaurant is adorable. But the breakfast wrap I got... The Fatone... Though the name almost deterred me, the breakfast wrap was wonderful. By far one of the best breakfast wraps I've had in awhile. The bacon inside was crispy. Egg whites were cooked correctly. And the added mango aioli had a smooth taste. I ate the burrito even faster than the already fast service. Although I will continue to call the wrap as a one word of Fatone opposed to "Fat one" to ease my mind, I will surely come back if I'm in the area

Local Favorite , a great breakfast spot located in a little and old charming business corner. I tried there Slenderizer with sautéed spinach, mushroom, 2 eggs and Swiss cheese in a spinach wrap, it's tasty and seasoned right, however a bit greasy. Other than that it fills you up for breakfast. The place is good for people on the go. They also serve burgers and burritos. I'll try them next time when I'm in town.

What a gem! I love this place! The fries are salty, maybe cut fresh? Tender, lightly crisp ketchup is in a to go container with a lid, just right for dipping. Ok so egg sandwich, The Slenderizer is my go to. A couple of eggs, Swiss cheese mushrooms and a large amount of sautés spinach. I switch it up to a brioche roll....wow at least two servings of veg on this breakfast delight. It's super tasty and filling! I have been welcomed through the door every time! Service is quick, friendly and consistent. Space is cozy, great view with comfy barstools around the perimeter of the dining floor. They have made this tiny space feel much bigger, private and comfortable even if there's a line of hungry happy customers! Great job!

I had such high hopes for a place with a 5 star rating. I'm not a fan of sandwiches with eggs on it so I chose the kids meal scrambled egg box with bacon and a side smashed potato. The potato was whatever. Literally nothing special in any way. The eggs though. Gross. These were not scrambled eggs. This was an egg laid flat and then folded. Nothing was scrambled. I could see the different parts of the egg which then makes them inedible to me. I understand others might not have food aversions like I do but don't call something "scrambled eggs" when that's not what you're serving. I tried to scramble them myself but it was not an enjoyable breakfast

Went here for the first time; excited because of all the positive reviews. Pros: the service was quick, and the price was very reasonable. The lady who welcomed me and took my order was very nice and friendly. Cons: The breakfast sandwich which I ordered (the one with brisket, something resembling an egg, cheese, and spicy aïoli has to be one of the most memorably bad breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. Served so piping hot that my scalded tongue is still in recovery, this greasy slop slid apart into the gooey mess that it was, with nothing redeeming about it. Topped off with a very mediocre stewed coffee (sitting for too long) and no decaf (which is what I'd prefer) on the menu. Two stars because the lady was very nice. That's really it.

Great food. Family environment. Amazing staff. Definitely a place to try when your in town.

The Egg sandwiches are very good and highly recommend them. But there is a constant issue of customer service besides a middle aged woman who I assume has been there longer and knows how to greet and talk to customers. The wait is always said to be 10-15 and ends up being 30. Last time we were told 15 max it was ready in about 20 but we were never told I had to go up after 30 minutes and ask for it.

This is a must stop & eat; especially breakfast. The fatome (breakfast burrito) and the pig (breakfast sandwich) both perfect. Their hot sauce is SO flavorful; it's a great balance of heat and flavor. Service was top notch, and the vibe is chill, or "ambiance" as Yelp wants you to say. I wish we had pictures but we both ate our food so fast. Just go!!

Mary was extremely slow and rude during our visit. She ignored our multiple requests for ketchup, and clearly couldn't care less about customer service. The food was good but they should fire that red head lady.

Me and my son ordered the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich it was amazing! Hands down best chicken sandwich I've had! Highly recommend going there.

overpriced & 35-40min for just 2 burritos...2nd time here too and definitely won't be back because first time was also a 25min wait for just a egg sandwhich.

Ordered online and picked up a breakfast sandwich. Easy enough to order online (I think you can text in an order too? ). I got the Fatone. Excellent. Fresh, well wrapped and easy to eat. Great flavors. I'll try something different next time.

I used to come to the Tasty Yolk for breakfast, and shared with all my friends because it is just delicious! My favorite is the Fatone, Bacon, pico, 2 over medium eggs & cheddar served in a toasted flour wrap (Burrito). SOOO GOOD. Then yesterday, I ordered tacos for dinner, they have it Tuesdays and Thursdays. OMG so delicious! I had the Pork Arepa and the chicken taco, sorry I do not have a picture, it did not make it home.

We were very surprised when we got our order. not only our sandwich and wrap looked great, they were extremely delicious as well. Can't wait to go back and try the other items on the menu.

Really great sandwich spot. I sometimes have some small adjustments and they're able to execute perfectly, every time. I like that they have brioche buns available, and the various sauces they have are (chef's kiss) mwah! Also, they always have some creative special that makes me want to try. I usually go to the Bridgeport store (which has a good vibe). My oooonnly wish for this area is - people, people, people... can we Pleeeease get some alternative breakfast meats on deck...? ...like turkey bacon, chicken sausage, etc, etc...??? Is it... is it Really that hard to keep in the freezer...?

Love this simple but tasty spot for great egg sandwiches, with a solid breakfast and lunch menu this is definitely a neighborhood gem. Check it out if you live in the area or are close by. Friendly staff and interesting menu options. My only critique is the ice coffee only comes in one size and it's not the best tasting. The food and service is fantastic overall, it's a great place.

YUMMMMM yum yum get the Fatone. Get the fcking Fatone. Fatone is good, heat it up, say yes to both of their house made hot sauces red and green, pour both those babies on each bite and sink yo teeth into the soft, cheesy, eggy, bacony, pico de gallo-y goodness that is this burrito. Holy mother clucker. We loved it. Also got the classic the Tasty which is a breakfast sandwich with two eggs, cheese, and chorizo. Simpler man but a good man at that. The chorizo is a nice differentiator from other bkfst sandwiches and this man had a good head on his shoulders too but the Fatone was just a wild crazy circus dude that you can't not devote your attention to ya know? The girl at the counter was super nice and bubbly, she liked my bucket hat so I liked her. Congrats on the storefront establishment brothers, a step up from the food truck, y'all r killing the breakfast sandwich game and keep it coming. Hefty, solid portions, you def are filled up with yummy eggy goodness after a trip to the Tasty Yolk! Oh yeah! You can text your order to the phone number on their website!!! I don't know why other restaurants aren't doing this like why this isn't common practice cuz it's so convenient for the customer and I'm sure the employees too! Like I literally texted can I order the tasty and the Fatone for pickup and less than 5 seconds later they texted back got it your order will be ready for pickup in 15-20 minutes and they texted again when it was ready. Like huh it seems so obvious to order like this but I haven't heard any other restaurants doing this. Maybe because it opens the door to scammers or like random ppl texting? But seems like they've found a way to make it work well!

The Tasty Yolk is a food truck located on Fairfield Ave. I've heard plenty good things of TTY, and planned for a while to go there myself. Today was that day, when a couple of us decided to get together for some breakfast. I ordered the Banker, and added the potato on the sandwich. The order was ready in not time, and I was pleasantly surprised, and amazed by the looks of it. The egg, the perfectly done steak, and the taste of potato by the first bite. Yummy! This is a gourmet breakfast sandwich that deserves my praise! Lovin' it! If you have the chance you should try TTY yourselves to experience what I did. I will be back for sure for some more.

Whether it's one of their trucks or their shop, the Tasty Yolk never disappoints. My go-to choice is the Slenderizer, which is a wrap with egg, mushrooms, spinach and cheese cooked to perfection. But don't let the name fool you, I've been so impressed with their evening offerings. At night the chef shows off his skills with dishes you'd find at fancy restaurants. Those specials change, so check out their site. They're so good with online orders, you get text updates and everything. Check them out!!

Went on a Saturday around noon and got a Bacon egg and cheese. Was very good. Only down side was that it was Very busy and took around 45 minutes to come out.

Y'all know I love a bomb breakfast sandwich, and The Tasty Yolk truck offers some delicious ones. You can make your own, so that's what I did, as I don't eat eggs. My cheddar, bacon, and tomato sandwich with hot sauce was amazing. I wish I had ordered two--I'm legit wondering how/when I can get back here. The individual products are high quality so the final product was fantastic. I appreciate that it's wrapped in foil, so it stays warm longer. The Tasty Yolk truck parks in front of one of my favorite coffee shops, The Source, so I was pleasantly surprised when I pulled up on my drive back to D.C. The staff is so friendly and helpful. If you are anywhere in the vicinity, you must stop.

I've been eating from here since they've been just food trucks. I usually only order the Fatone breakfast burritos, I've tried other things but they didn't compare. The burrito is usually pretty good but is sometimes inconsistent, some days it tastes better than others. My only gripe is it's gotten expensive...and they spin the monitor around at the register asking for a tip. This isn't really their fault as it's just the software but this tipping culture has gotten slightly out of hand. It's slightly uncomfortable. I always leave a tip but now I'm paying like $12 for just an egg sandwich and nothing else. I tried a coffee once out of the Stratford location...I couldn't even finish it it tasted so bad and I'm the type of person that'll even drink gas station coffee. I want to keep coming here because I like supporting small businesses and their food is good but little things like this are making me reconsider.

Delicious!!! Simple as that.... Their sausage is homemade not sure if they make it or get it from somebody local but it is DEFINATELY homemade it's not that generic frozen patty you get from most places. Very generous servings 2 eggs meat cheese on a large bun (not sure the proper name) but also not your standard hard roll, their guns are much better.... See pictures included!!!! Their COVID-19 protocols are spot on.. social distancing and masks being practiced and they have have a sign posted outside only 1 customer at a time (inside) and have a phone number posted on window you can text your order in and wait outside which is great in these times! Great place will DEFINATELY go back soon as I live very close

I've traveled all over the world and never tasted a breakfast burrito as good as this one. Not sure what about it makes it so delicious but I keep going out of my way and coming back for this one. TTY also has great hot sauce, perfect coffee, and super nice staff who know they are the bomb.

This place is great for breakfast sandwiches. Doesn't matter if you go to one of the several food trucks conveniently spaced throughout the area or the main storefront in Black Rock. Never had a bad sandwich there.

The Banker breakfast sandwich. Brisket, 2 eggs, cheese. Phenomenal. Great menu- difficult to choose what to order!

We loved this place! First of all, the location is great as it is walking distance to the water and right down town. The food though.. it worth the 5 stars on its own! We got the pancakes, eggs, & the smashed potatoes cakes. All were so so good! We did have to wait about 20 minutes, but considering how packed the place was, that was pretty good timing! Would highly recommend!

I would have to say that this is the best breakfast wrap I have ever had. Seasoned so well and smells so amazing. The first bite hooked me in and I will definitely be going back. Great and friendly customer service, very clean location, and just great energy in general. Definitely a place I will recommend others to go too.

Quality over quantity is how I'd describe the Tasty Yolk. They are a stationary food truck with 2 regular locations in Bridgeport and have a small, but delicious menu consisting of 5 egg sandwich variations (with occasional rotating monthly specials) and one side order of a loaded potato. I am not really a burrito fan, but their breakfast burrito (The Fatone) is by far the best breakfast sandwich i have ever eaten. Especially delicious with their local made Titos' hot sauce and smashed potato for an extra $1. The burrito is grilled crispy on the outside and is lightly salted, possibly from the grill. That combined with the eggs, bacon, cheddar cheese and pico on the inside makes for one outstanding and filling sandwich. For $7, you really can't go wrong. It kept me full until many hours later. Also have tried the chorizo sandwich and the steak one both served on hard rolls....all very good! This location is conveniently located off 95 in front of a local (Source) coffee house and you are welcomed to eat and/or wait inside. They also offer text-in orders, especially convenient if in a rush or if weather is too cold to wait outside. Even though it's a 20 minute drive I plan to come back again and again.

Horrible service I went 2 times and both times I paid in full for my meals and they had me wait an extra 20 mins even if I ordered 20 min prior .....I recently went for the 2nd time and they only gave me 2 out of the 3 items I ordered and then won't respond to fix the issue McDonald's has better service

Found by accident, and was outstanding! I love the text in your order feature. I had the veg head with some extra hot sauce, husband had the Tasty, each with a side order of the smashed potatoes - incredible! Food was absolutely delicious, and we're already thinking when we can go again. Was disappointed to see some other patrons not following the clearly stated rules about 1 party in the storefront at a time. The employees were all very kind and clearly working very hard on a busy Sunday late morning.

Really delicious place for breakfast. Their monthly specials don't disappoint and the egg and potatoes are delicious. Love that everything is fresh and made to order with friendly customer service. On their Facebook page they have clear instructions for ordering. They are also on door dash.
