Since my order was delivered, I can't speak much for the restaurant in itself, but the food was great ❤️ I think I found the best vegan burger I ever had! The only thing that would make it perfect would be if there could be gluten-free bun added 🙏the salad was really refreshing as a side dish ❤️ I will look forward to order (or potentially visit) again ☺️

This is a burger place run by two Americans. One from the West Coast and the other from the South. The combination made their food a little taste of home. We had the local original burger and it was excellent. It was one of the burger places recommended and I can see why. It is saturated on top of a hill. You can get there by metro or tram. With the tram, you'll have to walk up the hill. Overall, it was worth the visit. I would definitely go back and try the other burgers. Besides, you can spend some of the calories you consumed by visiting the Radio Tower, which is nearby.

Google
We randomly found this place and we are beyond satisfied. Definitely one of the best burgers ever we tried. Prices are very affordable (comparing to those in city centre) and the portions are big enough. We tried Danish blue and bacon burger and Tower Power. Both amazing! Definitely recommended place and if we visit Prague again, we will come here for sure.

Google
The Tavern is a charming and cozy spot, though it is quite small, so expect to be seated close to other diners. I would highly recommend to make a reservation in advance to secure a table. The food here is excellent, with the chicken hamburger featuring Danish blue cheese being a standout. They also offer a large variety of vegetarian options, which is great for those looking for meat-free meals. The drinks are tasty, but be prepared for a bit of a wait as they were served at the same time as the food. Due to its location, you’ll mostly find foreign-speaking customers here. Overall it's a nice place to come for a burger and nice drink with friends or family.

I can see why the won an award for their pulled pork burger because it was amazing! Service was lovely too and so was the atmosphere. 10/10 would recommend

Google
Hands down the best burger I've tried in Prague, and considerably cheaper than anything in the city centre. Those pulled pork fries on the side are a real treat.

Google
Here is a place you definitely must visit if you're looking for hamburgers. Forget about McDonald's or Burger King; come here and enjoy the feeling of sinking your teeth into a full, hearty burger with a cola and a side of fries. It will improve your mood for the day, along with the attentive service provided.🙏🙏

Google
The hamburgers we tried, including the ones loaded with mushrooms and the classic versions, were absolutely delightful. They were so good! But what really caught my attention was the cozy and cool vibe of the restaurant. It felt like stepping back in time, in the best way possible. I couldn’t help but think this spot has everything it takes to become a go-to place for hanging out with friends.

Yelp
Everything about this place was awesome. Ambiance was wonderful, staff were perfect, food was fantastic. I got the big daddy burger which has their famous pulled pork, coleslaw, and ranch over a perfectly done patty. My buddy got the pulled pork sandwich, and we shared the pulled pork cheddar fries. Everything was delicious. Probably the best ranch I've had outside of the US (which isn't saying much because it isn't really a thing outside the US), great bbq sauce and a really good coleslaw. affordable. Would return 10/10

Yelp
The fries were really the star of the show here. The basked of different kinds of fries and waffle fries is awesome. Decent burger too.

Yelp
I had the double pulled pork sandwich and caramel cheesecake and it was very tasty. The service was quick and the staff were friendly. Highly recommend

Yelp
Look, I am an American and I have to admit that this place serves a really amazing pub burger. It's a tiny hole in the wall spot that's charming and quaint. Great for a dinner date, meeting up with friends, or grabbing a bite solo like I did. High quality meat and the servers were actually decent for Prague (not my experience anywhere else). Salad was on point too!
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered the Danish Blue. They had an option to order it "naked" aka without a bun, which they sub in extra lettuce and a side of coleslaw. It wasn't very Blue cheesy, but it was still delicious. Generous amounts of bacon and perfectly caramelized onions. Delicious seasoning on the fries. Pleased that particular outdoor spot was smoke free! Hard to find in Prague. Service was friendly. All the waitstaff seemed to know English pretty well. Hip neighborhood. 12/100

Yelp
A fun, little (true) tavern off the beaten path of Prague. If you're in need of a good burger or an American missing home (like me), this is the spot to go.

Yelp
THE FRIES! Oh lordy the fries are things of dreams. They call it a "Tav Mix", which is essentially a mixture of normal fries, curly fries, and waffle fries all jumbled together. We got the Pulled Pork fries, and my only complaint would be that theywere gone too soon! I could eat those fries all day every day. We also were treated to Zizkov Mule, which was heavenly! Infused there on the spot, the ginger vodka is marvelous! The atmosphere is excellent too, it is small, but extremely cozy and comfortable, the perfect spot to grab delicious food and drinks!

Yelp
Burgers here rock! You have got to try these if you are around or even if you are not it is worth the walk to Prague 3 neighborhood because there are other places and pretty good things to do around the TV tower. The service was EXCELLENT. Good variety of local beers in tap. Burger and pulled pork sandwich menu is huge. The place itself has great mood and super great old classic rock music which was just great. I would go again to try some more goodies. Absolutely a burger place must.

Yelp
Great burgers! BUT: "dish" is even better! We stayed in an apartment close to dish and had both restaurants close to us. We liked both burgers a lot.

Yelp
After the horror show that was Peter's Burgers, I needed a decent experience with a burger place to cleanse my pallet and since Stepan spent literally HOURS the previous night raving about this place, I figured I would give it a shot. Still filled with the typical hippster waitstaff, the vibe upon entering was totally different. They were ridiculously helpful, understood my broken Czech, and got the order perfect. Now on to the burgers. Seriously some of the best burgers I have ever had, not just in Prague, but like EVER. I had the chicken bbq burger. Somehow they managed to cook the chicken breast so it was perfectly done. It was amazing, messy, and flat out heavenly. Then, they had ranch dressing. RANCH DRESSSSSSING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, now that I got that out of my system. I will definitely be heading back.

Yelp
As someone who is from America but lived in the Czech Republic for 2 years I know what good attempts are at American food. Some hit the nail on the head and some places quite honestly suck. The tavern is really really good. I would feel confident putting it up there with some of the better burgers I have ever had. The place is somewhat of a hipster joint but they sure can cook. Feel free to speak either Czech or English. There are always people who speak both. I love their BBQ sauce and have liked anything they cook. Try their breakfast items on weekends!!!

Yelp
This is one of the best places to get burger in Prague. Very favorite. Make sure you make reservation - not sure actually they make it. So you might be waiting. It reminds me burger from states and the fries are yami as well. Prices reasonable.

Yelp
We tried to make reservations but their website said no reservations for brunch. When we arrived they asked if we had reservations... Even though we didn't since we arrived right as they opened they found a spot for us. 4/5 of us ordered the brunch burger + hash browns. It was delicious and we were stuffed! My son ordered the waffle with blueberries and forrest berry syrup. It didn't stand a chance against a hungry 7yo. We will definitely be back but will be sure to make reservations to guarantee a spot!

Yelp
I first came here in 2015 and it was outstanding. Recently, since I was living nearby, been many more times as well as ordering take away. Sampled various different menu items and all were very good. One of the best places out there to get a burger. Food is awesome, service is great. Has outdoor seating and is dog friendly. You can speak Czech or English here and there are plenty of visitors and expats as well as hipster locals in attendance. Highly recommended and worth a trip. Location is great next to one of the best parks in Prague. Have a few beers in the beer garden before or after your visit to The Tavern.

Yelp
Awesome food! A great burger place that is very warm and inviting. Lots of travelers, especially from the U.S. Good selection of beers as well as damn good burgers. Try the fries (both the chili and the pulled pork were fantastic). The place can get a bit packed, so go for an early dinner. There is also a great beer garden in a park next door, and it is next to a metro station as well. Cons are that they are cash only.

Yelp
Brunchburger was absolutely divine. My friend had a classic burger with fries (burgers Dont automatically come with fries so you have to ask for it as a side. My burger was comined with a Virgin bloody Mary it is exactly what you need for a Sunday brunch. Also very chilled music and sweet service. Menu English, but cash only.

Yelp
I've been craving In-N-Out ever since I arrive in Europe, but haven't brought myself to try any burgers here because I didn't want to believe they could live up (and really wanted to try the cuisine of each country I was in). However, a friend of my brothers who lives in Prague told us that The Tavern had some of the best burgers in the world. Naturally, we made the trek out to find it! It's about a ten minute walk from the metro stop. We got there at about 8 p.m. and it was packed, as it's a pretty small place. Maybe around 20 small tables total, inside and on the patio. We were lucky though because a couple left about 5 minutes after we got there. The menu is half in Czech and half in English so there's really no confusion at all. I got the classic bacon burger, with a side of their "tav" sauce. I had no idea what the sauce was but felt I might as well try it! My burger came about ten minutes after ordering. It was a pretty large burger, with the insides falling out everywhere. The bun surprisingly didn't fall apart too badly though which was great, considering so many places in America have buns that crumble up or get soggy nearly immediately. The burger itself was definitely not the best in the world, but it hit the spot and was for sure a good classic bacon burger. The sauce was simply ketchup and mustard, but it was a little overpowering on the mustard side. I ordered a side of fries as well and dipped those into the Tav sauce. I wasn't a fan of the sauce, tasted like mayo and BBQ sauce (a bit too sweet) but my brother seemed content with it. The fries themselves were classic skinny fries, with a few random cross cuts thrown in there. Accident? Who knows! All I can say is they were a bit disappointing, a little too hard for our taste. We ended up not being able to finish both the burgers and fries, it was definitely a filling burger!! Overall, if you're craving a burger, hit up this joint and see for yourself what it has to offer. I can assure you it will satisfy your burger cravings! :)

Yelp
This place is the closest taste to American burgers you will get in Prague. Tavern is pretty small so to make sure to make a reservation beforehand. We forgot to make a reservation and ended up with getting pretty crappy seats. I got the Classic Bacon- Cheddar Burger, Oh god! it was delicious. I could literally taste all the ingredients. The bacon seem to be a little over cooked, It tasted pretty hard on the burger. As bacon on burgers need to be a little settled. But can't complain, who doesn't like bacon? I also ordered shared fries with their special sauce. It's a mix between mayonnaise and BBQ sauce. I'm not a big fan of BBQ sauce so for me it was just "eh". All the burgers are cooked medium rare. If you'd like your burger well-done, make sure to tell your waiter.

Bethany K.

Yelp
Great burgers!! Try the Blue Smoke burger, the pulled pork sandwich or the Lokal burger, all great choices. The side of fries is big enough for two. Loud atmosphere, good place to start a night out.
google avatar

Pamela D.

Yelp
Amazing food! My friend and I split the fried chicken sandwich and the local burger, both were great. The fries are a mix of waffle fries, curly fries, and regular fries, and the house fire sauce was delicious. We both got the raspberry margarita, which was delicious as well!
google avatar

Miguel S.

Yelp
Great burgers in Prague. Good meat. Good bread. Great bacon. Ask no ketchup. Awesome fries! Good service. Book ahead if you can. Good ambient. Just a little bit off the metro station.
google avatar

Yelp
Best burger and best (strictly) American food that we had in Prague by far. All of the servers looked like stereotypical surfers from California. Service was quick, portions were filling, and the food was everything it claimed to be. The Tower of Power. I'm upset that I didn't find this place until my last day in Prague. The amount of food was so overwhelming that we actually had to scrap our plans for the afternoon.
google avatar

Tim K.

Yelp
We come to tavern every couple of months and it has never let us down. The Swiss burger is good but the classic bacon cheese is the shining star here. My only recommendation is to get it dry and add mayo, ketchup, mustard to you own liking. It is just a bit too much for me when they put it on. The tav fries and tav sauce are great. Others may not like tav sauce but that's why you can always use old faithful, ketchup. We plan to try their brunch in a few weeks and I'll give a new review of the biscuits and gravy once we try it. Overall, we come back to tavern because they've got solid, tasty, real burgers. If you crave a burger while in Prague and want to escape all the tourist traps then come here. The service is also great. Only downfall...Cash only.
google avatar

Ed C.

Yelp
The burger's here are insane. Up there with the best I've ever had. The fries are delicious as well and the meal can be washed down with a selection of nice beers from a few microbreweries around the countries. The waitstaff are relaxed and friendly and overall the vibe and atmosphere is great. Make a reservation if you want to eat before 8pm.
google avatar

Kevin L.

Yelp
A small establishment on the corner of Riegrovy Sady houses probably some of Prague's best burgers. It's usually pretty crowded so you should either book ahead, or go on a sunny day and order 'sebou' so you can go sit in the park and enjoy the beautiful view of the city. If you're lucky, someone might be smoking some 'special cigarettes' in the park and give you an extra reason to enjoy your burger. Swiss cheese and mushroom burger is great, and the pulled pork sandwich is good. Not the best pulled pork I've had, but since it's not so common in these parts, I'm not going to complain.
google avatar

Tomáš P.

Yelp
Very great place with even better burgers. I totally recommend you to use the outdoor tables during the summer, as the indoor place is quite hot. Food worths the money, definitely!
google avatar

Charlie A.

Yelp
Huge fan of The Tavern as well as their sister restaurant, U Kurelu. What sets these two places apart from all of the other burger places in Prague is almost stupidly simple. It's their ranch dressing. While I'm not a huge fan of Ranch, it's usually fine, I'll sometimes eat it when it's there; this stuff had me reminiscing about nostalgic parts of the States I didn't even know I liked. Besides their incredible homemade ranch, they use an American-style bacon, which is reason itself to indulge yourself here. The pulled-pork and chili fries are likewise good enough reasons alone to stop. You'd be missing out if you went to a few of the other burger places (many of them wonderful!) in Prague without giving The Tavern a chance.
google avatar

Diana N.

Yelp
If a burger at the Tavern is the best burger you have had in your life, then I feel bad for you. Ideally, the meat of the best burger in the world should speak for itself. My lokal burger spoke to me. It was tender and nice, but it lacked the juiciness and the oomph of an amaze burger. The fries that accompanied my burger were crunchy but it did not crisp as if it came fresh out of the frier. There was a slight staleness to it. Service bumps the 3.5 stars to 4.
google avatar

Mario S.

Yelp
To start make a reservation before you decide to come here. It's a very small pub so seating is very limited. That's probably one of the main reasons I love this place so much. The burgers and chili fries are so good and cooked to perfection. My better half had a veggie burger and she loved it. Also if you love ginger try the vodka infused with ginger shot.
google avatar

Olivia K.

Yelp
The staff here are so friendly and all speak English which is nice because you're outside of the touristy area. I had the Tower Power burger which had really nice flavour. The fries were my favourite item though. They had chili and cheese and green onions and they were fantastic! And they brought out the food really quickly. Pub atmosphere and really good food!
google avatar

Martin V.

Yelp
Small burger place close to riegrove sady. Few places for sitting inside but there are some tables outside. Burgers are very good i have enjoyed my lunch here. Unfortunately you can pay only by cash.
google avatar

Emma G.

Yelp
The Tavern has awesome burgers and fries and it is just all around a great place. The "regular fries" consist of 3 types of fries including curly fries. The inside seating is somewhat small so I recommend making a reservation if you are going at a busy time. Wait staff is nice and they speak decent English.
google avatar

Greig W.

Yelp
Not bad. Never been to a Burger Bar before where you are not asked how you want the Burger cooked. Mine arrived quite rare which was okay ,but not what I wound normally want.
google avatar

Luke M.

Yelp
The best burgers in Prague. Tav fries are a thing of legend. A must go to if you are in Zizkov
google avatar

Sam N.

Yelp
I had never before experienced the sheer volume of fries available at this comfy burger joint. Westerners missing cholesterol packed reminders of home and Praguers in search of the best burger in town could do a lot worse. Fantastic friendly service and a great park side location. Totes amazeballs.
google avatar

Taryn R.

Yelp
I'm currently in a food coma from the delicious burgers at The Tavern. It deserves all the rave reviews, I just had the basic burger (Lokal I think it was called), which was excellent. Or at least I think it was, I pretty much inhaled it. Good buns, not sweet like a lot of European breads can be, perfectly cooked meat, lovely sauce. Quick service and very busy - make sure to book (I think the insist on bookings Thurs, Fri and Saturday nights anyway). Every table in the place had at least 3 reservation slips on them and we were there at 5.30!
google avatar

Derek D.

Yelp
Easily one of the best burgers in town, and many people feel they are responsible for the burger explosion that has hit Prague in the past couple of years. And the pulled pork is nothing to sneeze at either. Yes, it is quite small and cramped and you might have to wait a while if you want to sit down. But if the weather is nice, grab it to go and hit the park next door. The service is usually great (with a couple of dud servers) and the food is so good, you will order more, even though you cannot possibly eat another bite.
google avatar

Yelp
As a burger aficionado/ self proclaimed burger snob I am easy disappointed. After reading how the burger is taking over Paris, I lit up with anticipation for my impending European vacation. After sampling Parisian burgers I was not impressed and I'll leave it as that. Then I came to Prague. After a short search I ate at Nase Maso. Nase Maso is a great boutique butcher but the burger is only hype. Again disappointed I moved on and decided to try The Tavern but had little expectation. That is when life changed for me. I ate the end of days burger (rare). This burger was art. Art! If DaVinci was behind a grill this is what I would imagine would be the result. This burger shit on any burger I have had...ever. Specially sourced grass fed beef, English cheddar, six slices of bacon, and all the fixings perfectly compiled. This was the most sensual food experience I can remember and is still dancing through my taste buds. I will dream of this burger. I hope to dream of this burger. End of days burger, I truly hope not, cause I plan to come back if there is any way I can. If I lived in Prague I would try to keep it a secret.

Neal P.

Yelp
We tried their famous smoked BBQ pulled pork, loaded pulled pork cheddar fries, and #1 southern fries chicken sandwich. All three were delicious. Good service and reasonably priced. I'd recommended.
google avatar

Annie K.

Yelp
First off, they take only cash. My boyfriend had to go 1 km each way to get cash. What restaurant takes only cash in 2014? Although we were seated immediately, our order was not taken for another thirty minutes. The food was tasty once it arrived, although the burgers did not seem hand- patted. Overall review is that the food does not compensate for the out of the way location.

Chen M.

Yelp
Good burger place with decent prices and service. However my fries came out pretty stale lukewarm.
google avatar

Berto N.

Yelp
Best burgers in town! Excellent service and very friendly. You must try the loaded pulled pork cheddar fries, you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Lars M.

Yelp
The Blue Smoke Burger was excellent, as was the pulled pork. Fries not exceptional, but fresh, get the house fry sauce.
google avatar

Romana M.

Yelp
Great burgers, drinks, desserts and unique, very friendly service! Like a lot! Dogs are welcome and get a great service too :-)
google avatar

Bella G.

Yelp
Great burgers, nice atmosphere but a bit small and crowded. Best to go with reservation. Good prices. There deserts could be a bit more special as homemade us cuisine otherwise all great.

Lynda G.

Yelp
Terrible. Only gave it two stars because the service was good. If you're looking for a good hamburger, go across the street in the park. There is a nice, inexpensive restaurant there with good food, including much better burgers and far better fries. At The Tavern, we tried the basic burger and the blue smoke burger and a basket of fries with a couple of their sauces. Sauces were good, and the coleslaw was good. Beer was good. Wine was rot gut. Fries must have come from a freezer bag. Don't know where these other American reviewers came from who gave it such good reviews. We're from a foodie town in the US, so perhaps our standards are higher.
google avatar

Jen S.

Yelp
Tavern Tavern Tavern. If you hadn't treated me badly, I could give you the 4 stars you deserved for your food. But frankly, my server was lazy, unfriendly and thanks to her my food was cold, cheese barely there on my "cheese fries." Our drinks took 15 minutes to come, and all I got was a sprite....Our food took about 40 minutes, which was strange because a table near us that had come way after us and ordered also after us got their food way before us...not sure what is going on at this place but for 4.5 stars they did not live up to the hype. I got the pulled pork which was good, their BBQ sauce is homemade and on the sweet side, so if you don't like sweet BBQ sauce I wouldn't go for it. Otherwise I must say they did not make me want to come back at all. The highlight of my trip here was when leaving a server we didn't even have struck up a conversation with us and at least left a nice leaving impression, sadly not enough to undo what his colleagues had already done.

Jared-Lee B.

Yelp
This place rocks, hands down one of the best burgers I've had in Europe. Even better than that though was the fries, first thing is that one order is enough for two but it comes with a mixture of regular, waffle, and curly. Also it was fairly cheap and the service was really good. I would defiantly recommend this to anyone craving a good burger.

Eduardo L.

Yelp
Nice burger place. They have vegetarian options and decent prices. Be advised: cheesy burgers are REALLY oily. Remember to bring cash, since they don't accept credit card payments.
