Google
I love this place! I have been getting into tea recently and this place has anything a tea enjoyer could hope for. Plenty of delicious blends, tea equipment, mugs and so forth. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable if you have any questions about what is in a particular blend. The bags themselves also have recommended temperatures and steep times depending on the tea you buy. They offer discounts if you buy in bulk and have a section of discounted teas as well. Overall, this is a fantastic place to go if you're looking to buy things regarding tea and I strongly recommend it!

Google
Awesome place to buy loose tea locally. I really appreciate their eco-friendly stance of offering small discount if you bring in your own containers. I highly recommend buying some mini mason jars for this purpose. They're relatively inexpensive, air tight and you can reuse them forever.

Google
Tea Lab has knowledgeable staff- Dee rocks! They can help you find the tea that suits you best. Don’t forget to get a hot or iced tea while you browse, it’s a great way to sample a new tea. Love that their cups and bags are compostable (no microplastics). Their tea travel mug is the best- made for loose leaf tea- I’ve gifted at least a dozen!!!

Have to give up caffeine for a long while so I'm switching over to caffeine free tea - got a lot of help with selecting my tea and it's so delicious, I'm obsessed with it! Peppermint Pattie is amazing. Can't wait to come back and get more flavors.

Google
This is the best tea shop in Cleveland. There are so many teas to choose from and there’s always new seasonal blend to try out. What’s even better is that the staff is so knowledgeable about the product and will go above and beyond to find the perfect tea to fit your needs. I recently discovered their lactation tea and it’s hands down the best one on the market - all the spices that are part of it make it also a perfect fall tea.

Carlos and the Tea Lab were fabulous and helped us create a wonderful custom blend of tea for our holiday gifts for real estate clients! Definitely recommend!

Google
Super friendly and awesome! We tried an earl gray adjacent tea and the Pistachio, both iced, was ready in minutes. Very reasonable prices. The girls working were a hoot. Thanks guys!

Google
Best place to purchase all my accessories and tea, the owner is very knowledgeable. Love so many of their homemade tea blends will definitely be back soon

Yelp
My favorite herbal tea place. You can make your own tea mixture. And enjoy a fresh cup of hot or ice tea!

Gina D.

Yelp
The Tea Lab has a huge selection of tea, super cute and cool tea pots, cups, mugs, and other items perfect for keeping, or gifting. You can order tea to go too. Every year they have a booth at the Lakewood art festival and you can get cold tea and walk around the festival. The green mango tea is my absolute favorite, but they have so many different types of tea, if you're a tea lover you need to try The Tea Lab!

Yelp
Very helpful in helping with choosing a tea as a newbie. Lots of teas and related merchandise. At that time there were a few stools to sit at . Next to Alladin's on Detroit Ave.

Yelp
I'm a bit of a tea snob as I've spent $$$ on certain loose teas and enjoyed a fancy high tea or two. I wasn't expecting too much, but since I was in the area and it started to snow I stopped in for a hot drink. The shop is small, but organized well with a color coordinated wall of tea tins. They sell various tea accessories including pots, storage containers, mugs, honey, tea infused chocolates and candies, as well as items for a tea ceremony. There's even a bargain tea box of two ounce bags that are 40% off. There is an extensive list of teas you can order. A hot cup of the 'tea of the day' or your choice of a wellness tea is $2. Unfortunately at 4pm they no longer had the tea of the day left. Other teas are $3/cup. Extra $2 if you want to add a matcha boost. The Jasmine Green Pearls I got were lighter in flavor than I expected. Seemed the tea should have been steeped longer? Upon request I got a packet of honey to add. They are very strict about wearing a mask in the shop. They will provide one if you don't have one. There is no parking lot (like more places in Lakewood) so you'll need to find street parking. Go on a weekend when meter parking is free! I'd stop by if I was in the area and needed a hot tea, but otherwise nothing I'd specifically seek out.

Yelp
My husband got me a few teas for Christmas and I've gone back several times since then. Today was the first time I went into the store. The staff was friendly, the girl that helped me was very patient as I had a list of teas that I wanted. I'm not sure if their pricing is high or not, since I haven't bought loose leaf tea anywhere else. But it's nice to be able to get an ounce of things to try and not spend a lot of money. The store was clean, nothing fancy. Every tea I have gotten here I have enjoyed. Overall I would recommend stopping in.

Sandy L.

Yelp
As always great customer service. She helped walk me through which flavor she suggested. The cost is always affordable. Will definitely return again and again

Yelp
I love tea. Specifically black tea that are from parts of Asia like India, China, Taiwan, etc. The products the Tea Lab fit my needs perfectly because they just have SO much tea. All the tea here is priced fairly, which is great because tea prices have rose in light of COVID. Tea drinking tends to be a more expensive hobby to partake in. I bought the Jinxuan milk oolong tea and their masala chai. I haven't tried the jinxuan milk oolong, but I have already tried the masala chai. The masala chai is excellent. Would highly recommend for people that are new to tea drinking, or like spices such as cardamom and fennel seeds. I had my eye on the ceremonial grade matcha they sold for only $28 per ounce. Shocking when the average cost of ceremonial grade matcha is around thirty bucks. Parking is scarce. The area the Tea Lab is in looks like an outskirts of downtown. Kinda bare all around, and parking is always gonna be metered. But the tea is worth the struggle of finding parking.

Yelp
I'm happy that I finally visited The Tea Lab last weekend (2 June 2018). As soon as you walk in, you can try the sample tea which I did. The tea of the day was called "Fruit Bowl" which is a mixture of green and white tea with passionfruit and strawberries. It had no sweetener but it still tasted refreshing. I would probably add honey to it if I were to buy it. This store is small but there is a vast array of loose leaf teas available to sample, buy, or order to drink in-house. If you order a drink and sit inside, please note, there is very limited seating. There is a section in the middle to smell a variety of teas. I also got to go up front and smell the teas in the containers. I eventually decided to buy a mixture of green tea and ginger because I LOVE ginger. I got home and made a cup of tea and liked it. It isn't my favourite but it isn't bad either. The green tea that I got is light and not too strong which helps. I spent a good 30 minutes inside just asking questions about all the different teas. The person working behind the counter that day was super friendly and helpful even though it was a bit busy. They sell some sweets/snacks up at the front counter. You can also buy tea holders (tea pots) and honey. If you are not a coffee drinker and love tea then definitely stop on in. I'll be back for sure. P.S. I got 5% off my purchase for checking-in with the Yelp app while at the store so that was nice. **** This is my 117th Yelp review overall. 71 reviews for 2018. I am aiming for 100 reviews in 2018.

Yelp
I love tea and often feel sad at the lack of tea culture in Cleveland. But places like The Tea Lab give me hope that tea culture can exist here. I adore The Tea Lab for their superb selection of loose leaf teas. Whether I'm looking for a wellness tea (like Dandelion Root), a "fun" tea (Sweet Orchid) or an Ayurvedic tea (ancient Indian healing teas), you can find it all here at reasonable prices. Purchasing about 2 oz. of any given tea will be in the $5-6 range, make about 12 cups and will be sealed nicely. They also carry a wide selection of tea pots, steepers and other accessories. If you have a tea lover in your life, this is the spot to find them a gift. My friend recently purchased me an Ayurvedic tea with actual little rosebuds in it - and it was almost too pretty to drink. I love stopping in this location when I can grab a convenient metered street spot. Everything is nearly perfect here, though I wish they had ergonomic seating. The only thing preventing me from using this as a workspace is the hard metal stools. I would LOVE to stay in work here, but the seating is too rough on my bad back. For me, I'll stick to coming in on the fly to browse teas and give them all my money.

Yelp
I've been trying to make it into The Tea lab for a few months now, and I'd finally ventured in yesterday. Man, oh man. The fragrance that envelopes you once you walk in is so pleasant. I can't believe it. Their prices are also phenomenal. I was blown away by how affordable their prices are. And the choices seem endless. Ever since Teavana closed I needed somewhere to fill my tea desires. With their prices and selection, they're easily better than Teavana. And still carry both tea and honey for all of your needs. While brewing tea fresh in store for you. If I'm correct they have over 100 choices of tea, in all different types. White, green, black, chai. You name it. My wife and I walked out with Moroccan mint and orange grapefruit herbal blend. I was shocked that between getting an ounce of each. We only spent $6. I'd been so accustomed to buying from Teavana that I was expecting to pay $15+. Man never again. It's quality tea. The Moroccan mint is amazing. I can't wait to go back and just start filling my cupboard with teas, and even get a teapot from them. Small businesses forever.

Yelp
I have tried many many tea products from extremely expensive, to moderately priced, but The Tea Lab is far above any other tea I have tried. I typically stick with the Tisane (can't have caffeine) and the flavors are unbelievably good. Lucky for me my kids get this for me for almost every occasion they can. It is extraordinarly delicious.

Ashley W.

Yelp
We were visiting out of town and on a bit of a tea kick. This place was fantastic. We left with 4 teas. Try the Goddess Earl Grey and the Root Beer teas! The employee was very nice and knowledgable to explain to us their products and blends.

Nick R.

Yelp
Amazing loose leaf tea that's dirt cheap. Compared to Teavanna or any of those chains, you are getting ripped off at places like that. After you go to the Tea Lab you'll see! Freshest tea, most reasonable prices! Great accessories and selection of white, green, black, herbal teas, seasonal teas anything tea related really. Plus the instructions on the tea satchels are spot on. 20$ in this shop will take you very far! Just go there! Go there, and have yourself a tea like you probably never have had!

Yelp
Just wanted to give a shout out to small tea shops that hire baby witch apothecaries to temper that awesome hot brew for my sleepy time and menopause. Lots of fun, and our Tea Queen was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. 10 out of 10 would recommend

Jessica O.

Yelp
They have amazing honey which I bought A LOT of this winter and used in my 'boiling ginger, adding lemon and honey, go away sickness' remedy. Also, super tasty GF snacks. I park in the back lot and walk up the small alley in between buildings since I can never find parking on any Lakewood street. Friendly staff, cute interior and good prices. Win :D

Yelp
I was really lucky when my normal Latin American goods store ran out of yerba mate this week. I stopped at the Tea Lab thinking I'd get a little bit of the expensive stuff to see me through. Bottom line, the yerba mate is more expensive than when you find at local stores and online retailers. But it's definitely worth the money. The Tea Lab's yerba has got that bright green flavor and smoky sweet after-taste that is characteristic of the best yerbas. It's got fewer sticks than the Argentine brands that you see around and it's just a lot less ... dusty than what I've found in Ohio. Wherever the Tea Lab is sourcing their yerba from is on point. So get your mate, your bombilla, and your credit card. It's worth it. I'm a convert.

Yelp
The tea lab is for sure my cup of TEA! I had been ordering loose leaf tea online but my supplier went south and so I thought I was out of luck seeing as Teavana closed. But I stumbled upon the tea lab in Lakewood and I am hooked! The inside is nice and clean, smells awesome and has every tea perfectly organized and categorized and have such an AMAZING assortment of teas. The clerk was very helpful and nice, knowledgeable and even gave us some sample packs to take home before we bought bigger ounce quantities. We ended up with a Moroccan mint tea and a orange grapefruit tea, both were out of this world! The tea was very reasonably priced and they also had a nice selection of antique kettles and fandom kettles, some tea infusers and cups. I was really pleased with the Tea lab and I cannot wait to come back!

Christina D.

Yelp
I try to stop by whenever I'm in town and stock up on Queen of Earl. The prices are really good for loose-leaf teas, there's some discounts, and they have rock sugar! I love rock sugar. It's definitely a great place to try out something new, as well as to stock up on known favorites until the next visit.

Meredith W.

Yelp
I love this place. I can't say it enough. I was introduced to this place while searching for a loose leaf tea shop that wasn't Teavanna. I have allergies and I have to be very careful of what is in my tea and I almost had to go to the hospital because of a blunder at Teavanna with them not checking the ingredients despite me telling them about my allergies. I digress, this is why I give the Tea Lab 5/5. I have been here on three different occasions and have been pleased each and every time. Because of my allergies, I have to ask a lot of questions about what is in all the different kinds of tea. I've been helped by 3 different individuals and each one was very patient with me, checking each tea to make sure it was safe for me to drink. All the employees I have interacted with are very knowledgeable on what goes in their tea. My favorite tea is their "Evening Comfort", an herbal tea with peppermint and lemon. Perfect for night time drinking and it even helps me sleep. There are so many teas that sound so good. And the tea is super affordable. There are many teas that are $3.00 or less for an ounce.

Sarah S.

Yelp
Favorite place to go for loose tea. Staff is always friendly, patient, and helpful. Great selection of teas of all kinds. Small selection of tea related wares as well.

Alex Z.

Yelp
This is a loose tea shop that also serves hot tea and has a couple tables. And wow. I wish this place had been around when I lived in Lakewood, because it is awesome! I love it and I am so glad I discovered it when I visited Lakewood recently. Big array of loose-leaf teas, properly stored in metal tins away from light. The tea is very good; I'm especially fond of their pure (unflavored) teas, although they also sell a number of flavored teas too. I run RateTea and have sampled hundreds of teas, and I know tea prices. The prices here are very reasonable, and I also like that they sell the teas in sizes as small as 1 ounce, which is an ideal size to sample something without buying too much if you tire of it. The storefront is bright and they've made it look spacious even though it's not the hugest space. They also have a fairly large selection of teaware; it tends towards a bright, modern, cheerful aesthetic, and the tea infusers sold here are of a practical nature. I actually bought a basket infuser which I am very happy about. The prices on the teaware are also reasonable. This place also brews and serves hot tea, and there are a few tables in the front where you can sit down, sip your tea, and watch the street, enjoying your fine view of the 26 RTA bus as it rolls down Detroit avenue. If you want to read in-depth reviews of specific teas sold here, I've been posting them on RateTea; there are two posted as of me writing this review, and I have two more on their way; you can find them here: http://ratetea.com/brand/tea-lab/455/ Basically, you can't go wrong with this store. Forget Teavana and the other overpriced chains: shop here. The tea is better, cheaper, and you're supporting a small business in the downtown Lakewood business district. Oh, and there is a parking lot in the rear of the store.

Christy W.

Yelp
There are SO many varieties of tea here -- and they're all super affordable! The staff is very knowledgable and patient. Definitely a place to go to stock up on your favorites or try new and exciting things. :)

Gina C.

Yelp
I love drinking tea, but it can be really intimidating to walk into a loose-leaf tea shop like this. I appreciate that they give me the option of just buying a cup (hot or iced) of any tea they sell. That way I can treat myself to some excellent, interesting tea without the commitment. I usually walk out of tea stores empty handed bc I feel like "The instructions for making this are too specific, and I know I won't do it right. I should just stick with the bagged tea from the super market."

A H.

Yelp
I love their tea and until recently didn't know I could get a glass brewed to take to go. Wonderful! They also have gluten free sweets that are AMAZING!

Cassie B.

Yelp
I loved this little tea shop. You have so many choices! They can also make any tea iced, which is my preference. The wifi password is available upon request. I sat here for a few hours, reading, and sipping grapefruit orange iced tea. The staff is also very friendly, and it's not crammed with customers. Definitely a new favorite for me.

Dave C.

Yelp
I live in the Chicago suburbs. I was in Cleveland last summer (August 2018) and stopped by The Tea Lab because I'm always looking for a new place to buy and try tea. I've been a tea drinker for over 20 years and have traveled a lot in that time, both domestically and internationally. I'm usually disappointed by something in most tea shops; either the knowledge, service, selection or price. I didn't have ANY issues with ANY of those things at The Tea Lab and I've been buying my tea from them ever since. This is exactly how a tea shop should be.

Alex W.

Yelp
This place is so great if you love loose teas. They are what Teavana should be. I when in for the first time to get a corporate gift and the staff was very helpful in helping me find the right teas to get. As I kept looking I couldn't help getting a cup to go. I got just their basic black tea (sorry don't remember the exact name) it was very good, not to harsh or bitter as I sometimes get from loose teas. She also showed me many more that I will definitely go back to try such as Green Tea Chai and their Earl Grey with Blueflower instead of lavender. She also informed me that as of Feb. 15th 2016 they will be serving pastries to go with their awesome tea. Did I mention the reasonable pricing!? Most of the teas are around $2.50-3 an ounce. I think I find a new place to get my hot beverage fix from now on, Starbucks who!?

Jen D.

Yelp
The service is great and they know a lot about the different types of teas. They have a great selection and the prices are better than I expected when I walked in. I also love the location in Lakewood. Right around the corner from my house and in the middle of a ton of great stores.

K M.

Yelp
I really like coming here for a quick, fresh cup of tea. I try to buy a new flavor when I visit (to drink AND some to take home). I have yet to be disappointed and the prices are more than fair. I was apprehensive because of other tea places but this is a very fair place that allows you to explore and scent the teas on your own through a little display set. I love being able to peruse at my own rate!

Mario H.

Yelp
Very cool place. It's one of the only places that I can find pu-erh tea consistently. They have a great selection of teas, and the people who work there are very helpful and knowledgeable about the different variations of tea.

McTori E.

Yelp
Oh my gosh, the selection is overwhelming! So many delicious flavors... They have a tea out for you to try, and all of the teas in small containers for you to smell before you buy. The staff were fairly helpful - they looked at me a little cross-eyed when I asked questions about the different teas, but overall they were pleasant. Can't wait to come back with my parents and explore some more new tea options!

Kelly B.

Yelp
After months of false starts, I finally just paid a visit to The Tea Lab. Long story short, I love it! The smell when you walk through the doors is just lovely. The selection of teas is overwhelming, but they all sound amazing. There is a nice selection of teas set out for sampling, and I spent ages checking each of them out. I went in with plans to find a nice mint tea (which I did!), but I couldn't resist trying a couple more. I figured you can never have enough chai, and they had planty of nice options (the Chelsea blend was my favorite). And I just fell in love with the fruit flavored black teas. I ended up choosing the apricot black tea, which I highly recommend. All in all, a nice little shop to visit!

Rachel M.

Yelp
Stopped in the Tea Lab for the first time and I was glad I did. I'm not much of a tea snob but after being at the tea lab it make me want to be. I made a couple small purchases and plan on going back again to try some new teas. Not knowing much about tea I wish I would have received a little more help but still a good experience.

Cara L.

Yelp
What a cool place! I only bought a gift card but the girl working was very friendly and explained to me how much tea you can buy with certain increments of money. Can't wait to go back and buy some of their delicious tea!

Cory R.

Yelp
An excellent tea shop, perfect for gifts and priced very reasonably for the quality. The employees are very helpful as well.

Chris C.

Yelp
They slang tea.. This spot is cool. you def should check it out. The people who work there are friendly and helpful. Bomb!

Jai H.

Yelp
If you're a tea lover like me, then this is the place for you! I have officially turned into a tea snob.

Diana W.

Yelp
We live in Canton, OH and had seen the article in the Ohio Magazine about the Tea Lab. Since our daughter and son-in-law live in Lakewood, we visited that store on Saturday just before closing. The young lady behind the counter was very helpful and suggested the French Breakfast tea, among others. I love it! It has a smooth taste and not bitter at all. Quite a welcome addition to my other breakfast teas. The Maple Taffy tea is also very tasty. My compliments to the young lady working while we were there. She didn't rush us, even though it was close to closing time and was very helpful by explaining the different teas. I have shopped at Teavana and found the Tea Lab to be more personal and more reasonably priced. I like the aspect of being able to buy just one ounce of a tea to try. I will definitely return when I am back in Lakewood! Diana W.

Jen O.

Yelp
Loved this place! Wide variety of different teas and they always have samples for you to try before making a selection. (Taste or smell) great place for gifts for other tea lovers like myself.
