Fantastic cafe , delicious food (beautifully presented, poached eggs perfect) & silky smooth coffee . We ordered Smashed Avocado with Halloumi & 1 added poached egg & Savoury mince which comes with 2 poached eggs. Large portions too. A great find whilst on holidays here. Plenty of seating indoors & outdoors , friendly staff. Dog friendly also.

I enjoyed the coffee and the coffee & walnut slice. Although on a sweeter side, it was exactly what I was looking for . The service was lovely also. The bathroom is clean. The cafe is very close to the beach front.

We just ordered drinks anf they were fabulous! Really authentic atmosphere and super nice staff and service!

Nice place for breakfast. I tried flat white, good with moderate strength. Wide range of food in cabinet. I have salmon panini, also good but nothing special. My friend has breakfast on tennyson, it looks good!

Only tried the coffee here. Not a bad brew, good flavour, and strength, only problem was not hot enough . Food in the cabinet all looked fresh & delicious. Lots of seating available both inside & out.

I came here with 4 people, friendly staff, decent place but we sat upstairs and it wasn’t very clean. Some of the things we had were the pasta and the squid which was enjoyed. I had the eggs Benedict which would have been good if the eggs weren’t overcooked which is very disappointing for a cafe. The last thing one of us had was the burger, this was very soggy at the bottom and “tasted like a dish cloth”. They were shocked someone could make a burger inedible.

We were told the egg bennie here is good with nice creamy hollandaise. And they were absolutely right. Both the salmon and bacon varieties were deliss. Friendly no fuss staff.

Overrated café. Nice architecture, decent selection but expensive and uncomfortable. I paid $24.90 for mince on toast - the menu said poached ‘eggs’ but they only serve one egg and mine was overdone. I asked for ‘no butter’ and watched the open kitchen as the chef made it as usual then had to remake it… and just let the egg sit there and get overcooked then reconstructed it and served it - I complained and they did make another egg with an acceptable yolk but it’s just a bit crap if your paying a premium. Just charge less, serve less mince and the two promised eggs cooked properly. The mince was ok - but way too much of it. I liked that they had water dispensers and the staff were very kind… but it’s just not somewhere I would want to eat again. Not that it matters, but I also despised the artwork. Trite.

Great hip vibe. Busy cafe with good staff. Toasted cheese scone very tasty. Husbands decaf coffee excellent but my regular latte a bit weak. Happy to go back. Food looked very good.

Went there for dinner. Service was excellent as was the food. Nice French vibe. Most enjoyable!

Looking to get a late lunch around 3:30pm but most places had a limited menu at this time. Fortunately this cafe had a nice menu and served until 5pm. I had a delicious gluten free summer vegetable frittata with a sweet red sauce that was sooo yummy! Accompanied by a nice large cafe latte, it was the perfect meal. It was also nice to be able to sit outside on this beautiful day. My hubby had the ham & cheese croissant, heated, and a large beer which he enjoyed. If you are looking for a nice, quick and delicious meal or a beer or coffee late afternoon, Cafe Tennyson Bistro is the place to come! Centrally located a block off Marine Parade on Tennyson!

This cafe is fine and seems to be quite popular. It has a relaxed atmosphere and service is good, prompt and responsive. If you are a carb-aware diner you will do best to construct your own dish from the range of separate items available. I had poached eggs, avocado, mushrooms and tomatoes. Salads all involved grains, pasta or rice. Coffee is good. I'd probably come back.

Wonderful breakfast place. Go early, it fills up by 9. We had eggs and coffee. Simple but very well prepare.
