I recently stayed at The Terrace Hotel in Perth and had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel incredibly welcome. Everyone was warm, professional, and went out of their way to make sure my stay was perfect. You can really tell they care about their guests. The location is unbeatable — right in the heart of the city, close to everything yet tucked away enough to feel calm and relaxing. It’s the perfect base for exploring Perth. And the food… wow. The on-site restaurant serves up some of the best meals I’ve had in a hotel. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with flavour. Whether it was breakfast, dinner or just drinks, the service and quality were top-notch. If you're looking for comfort, class, and outstanding hospitality, I highly recommend The Terrace Hotel. I’ll definitely be back!

Although our stay was very good the level of cleanliness in the room when we arrived was lacking. Carpets in the lift, corridors and the room needed a good vacuum and the level of dusting has been neglected for some time. Steel doors in the lifts need some attention to look shiney and cleanLocation and value for money was very good. The food was very good standard, well priced and was delivered very quickly. Staff were excellent. Special shout out to Casper for arranging a birthday surprise for my wife. Nice touch. ThanksOverall a pleasant stay. Thank you.

Was warmly greeted on my arrival and host was very welcoming. He explained where everything was and gave great directions to my destination. Very accommodating. My room was beautiful and with a separate lounge room. Bathroom amazing and bed comfy. Food was delicious. Great location and would love to stay there again. Lovely hotel.

A truly charming escape in the heart of Perth – old-world elegance with modern comfort From the moment I arrived at The Terrace Hotel, I was struck by its olde world charm — warm interiors, beautifully preserved heritage details, and a welcoming ambience that instantly made me feel at home. The attention to aesthetic detail, from the vintage fireplace setting to the intimate seating nooks, evoked a timeless elegance rarely found in modern hotels. The service was exceptional throughout my stay — attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely warm. Staff were friendly, accommodating, and ensured every aspect of my experience felt seamless. The beds deserve a special mention — quite possibly among the most comfortable in all of Perth. After a long day, returning to such plush, well-appointed rooms was pure bliss. The dining options are another highlight. Whether enjoying the hearty Caesar salad with perfectly grilled chicken or indulging in the decadent chicken-and-waffle dish with poached eggs and pickled garnish, the menu consistently surprised and delighted. The food was flavourful, generous in portion, and very reasonably priced, especially considering the quality. A bonus was the in-house guest card, which offered a complimentary glass of wine with a main — a lovely touch. The location is unbeatable — right in the CBD, yet it feels tucked away from the city’s bustle. Whether you’re in town for business or a relaxing solo getaway, The Terrace Hotel is an ideal base. Highly recommended for those seeking comfort, style, and soul — this is a gem worth discovering

If you like grand old buildings with a lot of history and character in a great location, you can't pass up this place. Lodging comes with hot breakfast. Rooms require some maintenance, no customer service/reception at hotel side when I was there for the two nights. The pub service in the morning is slow so you need plan for additional time for breakfast.

Unfortunately, the food was extremely disgusting. It tasted like it came straight out of a packet. We ordered the scotch fillet, but what we received was definitely not that cut. It was well done when we had asked for medium rare, so we sent it back. The replacement wasn’t any better, it was dry, tough, and honestly felt like eating cardboard. We didn’t end up eating it as it was completely inedible, and we asked for, and received, a refund. We also tried the lamb shank, which was drowning in a thick sauce that tasted more like something from a canteen than a quality kitchen. The only redeeming part of our visit was the service. The young man with short curly hair was polite, attentive, and genuinely tried to make our experience better. His customer service was excellent, thank you to him.

Google
I went for a coffee and croissant. There was a steady flow of coffee orders through the counter and it took the usual 7-8 minutes for my coffee to come out. The almond croissant however... the biggest issue wasn't that it was stale. I had to ask 4 times for the croissant and it took 26 minutes to be served. There was also zero acknowledgement that I waited 26 minutes. I won't be returning there.

Spectacular room, poor service. My partner and I stayed for one night in room 1 a beautiful and elegant suite. Well kept and cleaned, everything worked fine and we really enjoyed our stay. A big improvement needs to be done with service and the training of staff members as it doesn't give justice to the venue and to the price paid either. All young staff members so I'd like to blame the inexperience. Apart from this we really enjoyed our stay as the room was very cozy and had everything we needed!

Yelp
The Terrace Hotel is a beautiful place in the city for a night out or a night at a hotel. I attended the Terrace Hotel for a wedding reception and overnight stay on the weekend. The courtyard was decorated with flowered and lights during the reception creating a wonderful atmosphere for us all. The reception drinks consisted of a cocktail hour of Steve McQueens and beer, wine and soft drink. The canapés served renamed from cucumber and salmon, to arancini balls, to mini-cheeseburgers that were delicious at the end of the night. Celebrations were had by all! The room we stayed in was a king delux room that was very grand. The bed was enormous and very comfortable in a room decorated from another era. The bathroom stayed with this theme but was very modern with black tiling and a bath and shower that were very comfortable. Service was excellent also, when checking in and being shown the rooms and also service at the reception. More expensive than what we would usually look at but worth it.

Yelp
Thanks to Yelp we were able to see a couple if the incredible appointed hotel rooms here; however my review will be limited to the bar and restaurant. We have come here on a number of occasions to enjoy a quite romantic dinner, the Friday jazz sessions, the Sunday roast lunch and breakfast... The service has almost always been great and the staff friendly and accommodating; however only the dinners have been a stand out from a food perspective, with the lunches and breakfasts being plain in comparison. Desert lovers this is a paradise; just recently they hired a new patisserie chef who is simply amazing!!! Hurry here now for the apple crumble or creme brûlée

Yelp
Love the place especially the way it blends in classical decor with modern state of the art technology! I'm a geek and I know, they've got Bang & Olufsen TVs, iPads and Apple TV in every room. Nespresso machines to boot! 3000 bottles of wine and heaps of different types of champagnes, a must have for alco.. I mean wine lovers! Staff are friendly and multicultural, I love an equal opportunity employer. They always score well with me! All in all a posh place. The rooms seem to be fairly priced for a boutique hotel. Thank you for a lovely evening!

Yelp
My friend and I enjoyed a leisurely breakfast at The Terrace on Sunday. We were welcomed with enthusiasm and chose to sit in the pretty garden area in the front of the hotel. I chose the brioche French toast glistening with maple syrup and accompanied by a pot of clotted cream. Taking the humble French toast to a delicious new level! My friend opted for poached eggs with bacon, tomatoes and toast. Her eggs came with a serve of hollandaise sauce. She declared her meal to be superb and she is a very fussy eater! I had a wonderful macchiato and my friend had two cappuccinos, obviously made by a great barista! The waitstaff were delightful and attentive. The Terrace Hotel is a fine historic building and the wonderful restaurant complements it to perfection! It is the attention to detail that sets it apart. The serviettes are of a heavy quality linen, the crockery is lovely and the cutlery, as well as being pretty is of a pleasing weight. Breakfast at The Terrace was a wonderful experience, the music made us mellow, the food left us replete and the sun which shone merrily through the trees lulled us into an easy reverie. I am so happy to have found this sanctuary in the heart of the city. I will return with friends to try the quick lunch special or partake of their tempting Afternoon Tea!

Yelp
High Tea with the ladies! First comfortable seat I've had all weekend! I almost missed the metal stools of the bygone evenings...not! A nice selection of tea to choose from. A teapot each. Then the tower arrived! Delicate, beautiful sandwiches, mini savory pastry tarts, chocolate cased mousse, slices of exquisite tiramisu, almond slice and fresh scones, jam and cream. Really one word explains the high tea and that would be, decadent. Needless to say the hotel itself is fabulous, gorgeously styled and classy. We sat for 2 hours nattering and not once felt any need to rush. The staff were attentive but not overbearing. This would have to go straight to the top of my favourite high teas in Perth and would be delighted to go again!

Yelp
Came through for breakfast on a Sat with a small group of friends and just felt like they had dropped the ball a little. While the place wasn't too busy I didn't understand the poor timing. Firstly 3 out of 5 hot drinks arrived together with at least 10min before the other 2 arrived. The same goes for our breakfast orders. The one thing that always peeves me is when half the dishes come and you're left now with an uncomfortable delay and have to decide whether you should start or not. Finally when it all arrived and the one person who waited the longest for their meal complains that the baked beans did not arrive, we were just told that not too worry we'll take it off the bill. Really?!? An apology would have been better or better yet at least a complimentary coffee. Apart from that it's still a lovely relaxing oasis in the city and I will be back, on the premise that the staff will eventually get it right.

Yelp
Such a fantastic experience at the Terrace Hotel. We went for High Tea (or Afternoon Tea as they call it at the Terrace) and ended up moving on to the main bar for a glass of wine and live music. The building itself and the dining rooms are beautiful. The service was fantastic, attentive but not over the top (we weren't being bothered every 5 minutes). The food was fabulous. We started with champagne, then ordered our tea (a good selection to choose from) and our food arrived a short time later. When booking I was asked for any allergies/dietary requirements so there was no messing around on the day. We received a three-tiered stand with the usual fare - finger sandwiches, scones with jam and clotted cream, chocolate cake, pav, strudel and profiteroles. Everything was delicious. I was having a sneaky look at the bar when one of the staff asked if we would like to make our way through for a drink. He arranged a table for us and advised that our bill/tab would carry through. I thought this was great service. There was a jazz singer performing in the main bar which was good for something a bit different. Would definitely recommend the Terrace for Afternoon Tea and look forward to going back again!

Yelp
We've been to the Terrace Hotel a number of times now; for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast: On a Saturday morning after a gym workout, they have simple healthy breakfast options and the usual suspects; nothing dangerously creative that you might get from the newer brunch spots. The coffee is really nice and hits the spot, however not particularly exceptional. Lunch: We had the lunch special for a good price. The Fish and Chips was deliciously battered (for her) and the Steak Sandwich was equally delicious (for him). Dinner: This followed suit with the rest of the previous meals we had, it's delicious and presented beautifully. However it isn't anything amazingly special. Clearly we enjoy this place as we do come back here time and time again. The winning points for this place is it's consistency, their knowledgeable sommelier and friendly professional staff, and their lovely décor from the front foyer to the back outdoor area, and the bar.

Yelp
Went for a Work Lunch today at Terrace Hotel - I was looking for somewhere close to work and had wanted to try this place for some time! I booked last Friday when it was pouring rain and was disappointed at such a nice day today but when we got there we were seated outside. The outside area is lovely with large comfortable table and we were offered the heaters be turned on if we were cold. Staff were spot on with their service. There we 11 of us and orders were taken quickly and the drinks arrived around the same time and so did the food. At lunchtime they do a $25.00 Quick Lunch with a selection of 5 different lunches and a drink either a wine, beer, coffee/tea or soft drink! I had a Rogers with lunch today and thought that $25 for a premium beer and a lunch was pretty damn good. The lunch selections were good, with a burger, fish and chips, seafood linguinii, beef salad and pork schnitzel on offer! I ordered the pork schnitzel which was parmesan ad herb crumbed and came with polenta chips and a small salad, my lunch was delicious, my only complaint was a sauce of some sort with the polenta chips would have been good. A couple of people who had had the salad said they wish they had of order the fish and chips, too much rocket and not enough beef. All in all a good first visit to Terrace Hotel I will be definitely going back maybe to try the burger next time!

Yelp
Ok time for a dinner review! I haven't been here before and hadn't really heard anything about it besides people saying they were going there for one reason or another. So, I was going in with no real expectations. Now, I'll start by saying that I'm currently not drinking alcohol (Jan through to the end of March) so I didn't taste any of the wines or anything. Didn't even look at the booze menu so can't help you there. I like simple menus. Too much choice is too confusing in my opinion. This place had it right. A handful of choices in each category. We went with the chorizo, olives and sourdough to start/share. There's more than enough for two people by the way. They don't skimp. There was this other stuff that I had thought was going to be a tomato spread for the sourdough but turned out there seemed to be tuna or something in it. Either way - delish. The olives packed a punch of flavour. The chorizo was tasty and thick. The bread was lovely. Just soft enough and crunchy enough on the crusts. A great share plate. The mains. I ordered the pork belly. I'm so glad I did. My god it was melt in your mouth fantastic. I've never had celeriac before either but I really enjoyed it. But if you're a fan of crackling you're in for a real treat. I won't spoil the surprise but, just order it and thank me later. My date for the evening ordered the fish, which tonight was Tasmanian salmon. Cooked beautifully, very juicy and very tasty. Fish lovers will enjoy themselves. Dessert was something called an Alaskan Base (i think?) and it was yummy. Not something I'd normally order to be honest (chocolate lover at heart) but the lady of the table was dying for it and it didn't disappoint. Then we finish with a mention of the service. Definitely very friendly. The staff make it feel like you were actually in a restaurant run by a family out in the country but they're very polished and in a restaurant serving fine food. It's lovely because it doesn't feel like one of those stuck up joints that make you question if you wore the right socks. I loved it. Oh the coffee was pretty damn good too. If I worked in the city I would definitely be getting my coffee here. Top marks across the board. Highly recommended, well done! :-)

Yelp
Randomly poped by on a friday lunch time for lunch... hadn't made a booking and they were packed with all the tables in sight taken, yet the wonderful staff managed to find us a table. As soon as we sat down we were in love with the fitout, the staff and the fact it was a friday. The menu has a variety of options including a lunch special with various choices and a glass of wine/ beer or coffee for $25. I choose the burger and cider and OMG am i happy i did, best burger i've ever had in Perth since i moved here nearly 2 years ago. My friend had the scallops and told me as soon as she'd finished that we were coming again. The bar staff made a great coffee as well as provided wonderful service and i have to admit was nice eyecandy. Yep all in all we are in love with the Terrace and its now become a fav for friday lunches.

Yelp
Good food - I'd say more a 3.5 than 4. We were forced to wait outside at 12:10pm for a table in the empty balcony area, however one of our group came earlier and had to have a drink by himself at the bar. The food was good but the steak in my sandwich was very overcooked but the burger was still nice. Chips were fab, home made and delish! Service was fine.

Yelp
Today we checked in to the Comfort Inn this is our second time here and this company and their workers have to be the most helpful and kind people ever.I called ahead to ask if they were able to buy a bottle of wine to surprise my husband but they went above and beyond we came into the room to find rose petals on the bed our bottle of wine with real glass wine glasses and more roses.Their kindness brought a tear to my eye and made my husband feel very special it was a great way to start off our stay.We also got a bigger room.Comfort Inn you guys are an amazing organization and should be so proud of your customer service.

Yelp
Stayed a night in this lovely hotel in the Heritage room. Surprisingly quiet, beautifully furnished and friendly staff. Foxtel, free wifi, Nespresso coffee maker in the room. Good restaurant downstairs. Great location in Perth CBD

Yelp
This is a great little place to go on a Friday night for a couple of quiet drinks after work. They regularly have a jazz band on here which is a great way to end the week and unwind with friends. It's a very snazzy venue, with a great wine list and a solid selection of beers to get you going. I haven't tried the food yet, just a few of the bar snacks which were quite nice. The menu however looks very delicious. It's quite pricey, but the service is good, the decor swanky and the vibe is pleasant. I'll be back, but with the plethora of great little bars in Perth there's some stiff competition.

Yelp
Five star food and service, great spot for dates. Didn't like caparccio until I tried it here.

Yelp
Attended BillY Law's Food Photography workship here. The Terrace Hotel staff knew they were serving a roomful of bloggers so I have refrained from reviewing the meals as it would be impossible for me to give an accurate unbiased review. Throughout the day we were treated to very personalised and friendly service and I walked away impressed with the level of attention. I am keen to return for a meal incognito to discover whether this is true for all patrons.

Yelp
Loved this place.... Old setting but very classy elegant and nice perfect fine dinning. Meals pretty average n the curried pumpkin soup for a starter that is a lot..... Lamb racks were OK. Loved the whole setting. However food took tooooooo long to come out wonder which lamb just got slaughtered I would certainly return KUDOS

Yelp
Stayed here after a family member got us a night here to enjoy the weekend after our wedding. I have mixed feelings about this hotel...probably not helped by the fact that my husband kept squawking about the cost of the room the entire stay (he's a small business owner, and likes to monetize everything). Pros: the bedding is amazing, it was like sleeping on a cloud. The staff found out we were newlyweds and upgraded us to a heritage suite. The beautiful chandelier. The location on the terrace is great. Apple TV, foxtel and plug and play should be in every hotel room! As per the nespresso machine. Cons: the cost. I'm just not sure the 6 star rating, or $500/night fee can be justified. Plus the wayfinding isn't very good, found ourselves in the restaurant when trying to check in. There's no parking, you can pay an extra $35 for valet, but that just adds to the expense. The marble in the bathroom is cracked then , dodgy install. The fancy pants new remote, which I couldn't work out how to use. The view from our room was the dustbowl construction site next door. I woke up in the middle of the night to noise - fine it's a hotel, but they advertise "soundproof" rooms. I would like to go back here to try out the food, I have heard the restaurant is amazing. Wouldn't stay again, I think it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience, for me anyway.

Yelp
I was definitely a fan of this place and the service was first class. There was a limited menu on the Sunday however I will definitely be back during the week to have a lovely meal in doors. Great for a lunch in the sunshine.

Yelp
The Terrace Hotel is a beautiful quaint venue and it's great that there are more accommodation options for domestic and international guests to choose from. What I love is that the addition of The Terrace Hotel along with all the new WA iconic bars, restaurants and venues adds to the appeal of Perth as a holiday destination and us Perthies can't say we have nothing to do anymore!

Yelp
The eye fillet and smoke gabi is delicious! Asked for rare and is was perfectly cooked. Knife cut through it like a hot knife through butter. I can recommend the bittersweet chocolate tart for desert. The main was expensive but worth the splurge ! Staff friendly and service was very good.

Yelp
High tea today with my friends and received awful, RUDE service! Actually we hardly received any service at all. Staff snappy and rude and incredibly obnoxious, so disappointed as we had been looking forward to the event.

Claire D.

Yelp
Service was terrible. I ordered a flat white but was given a warm, skinny flat white. This was taken back only for the same coffee to be brought out again after the waiter used a spoon to skim the top off, with milk all over the cup and saucer. Not impressed and just I couldn't be bothered dealing with the waiters awful attitude to ask for another. Our food took ages to be delivered despite the hotel being empty. My bacon and eggs arrived luke warm but was a generous portion size. I won't be returning, despite having great experiences with their lunch service. Service and staff attitude has always been this venues downfall.

Belinda C.

Yelp
We have never stayed at the here but stumbled across the restaurant while in desperate need of an afternoon caffeine fix as well as a cold jug of water. All of the staff were very friendly and chatty. Topping up our glasses of water every time they saw it empty. Next time I come across poor restaurant service,I will recommend they visit this place to get some advice!

Yelp
Third time here and it's becoming one of my favourite Perth restaurants. This time I came for my birthday dinner with my family. We had a private dining room but the staff were very attentive throughout the night. Two mains were delayed but staff were quick to update us. They didn't hesitate to let my SIL use a room upstairs to fed her son. They also didn't hesitate to take two gnocchis off our bill after being told they were too salty. The polenta chips were yum and I loved the duck terrine (but could have used more bread). The creme brulee was also good but the lychee foam wasn't needed. Looking forward to trying high tea here soon!

Yelp
being from perth & knowing what putrid staff this city has to offer, it is an absolute delight to visit here where the staff are so attentive and warm. they know their product and speak of it with a passion. if management are reading this, hat off to last nights waiter, he was on until close. i will be back for that reason alone. However, it's not the only reason to go, the food is magic!!! a little tip, we had a few beers in the bar whilst waiting for friends, we ordered some hot chips, they came out undercooked and saltless.

Yelp
Had a lunch hour to kill and decided to try this place out. We were seated outdoors on a beautiful Perth day. We were a bit in the sun, but it is what it is. Seating was pleasant and we were able to hear the background music. Service was a bit slow though we were at the front of the lunch hour crowd. I think my mistake was ordering the delicious mushroom soup as a starter--we ended up getting our mains later than people who arrived after us. We both did the $25 lunch specials--mine was the organic burger and my companion had the fish and chips. My burger was very good: bacon, greens, cheese, etc on a soft bun. The chips are delicious. The fish was crisp, but the batter not as flavorful as some seafood restaurants I've visited. I recommend their interpretation of iced tea--delicious though a touch sweet. Unfortunately, waiting for our mains ate up (pun intended) all of our remaining lunch hour--so no desserts. I still recommend this restaurant for its ambiance and the pleasant servers. I fully intend to go back when I have more time to enjoy myself and order something off the regular menu.

Yelp
in the summer, this is s great place for work meeting coffees, however as soon the as the winter winds hit Perth, avoid this venue like the plague. Despite pleading the staff to close the doors to protect us from the cold winter winds, we were met with indifferent shrugs on a number of occasions, stating that there were not allowed by management to close the doors. Well, I think you should change management and close your doors or shut your doors permanently. i have found a warmer, cosier place to have a coffee, which I will take many of my friends and work associates to. Good luck with your business model of "freezing out" your clientele ....

Yelp
50 MINUTES FOR A COFFEE! RUDE STAFF & VERY UNDER STAFFED. On Anzac Day after finishing the dawn service we wander down and stopped in the back part of the Terrance Hotel in the cafe area, and order 3 coffees. They were busy which we understood but we weren't told there would be a wait and certainly didn't expect 50 minutes. The time was stamped on our receipt at 7:29, after 30 minutes my friend went up to see what was going on. The barista seemed like she had forgotten it and said "not a problem" in our head that means I'll make them now and get them to you, apparently in this very slow barristers mind it means I'll do everything else first and chat to my co-workers whilst doing it. 15 more minutes passed no coffees. Thankful to be in somewhere warm we waited. Then in walks a manager. I went up to her and said "look I understand your busy but we have been wait 45 minutes for 3 coffees" he response was, "what number are you?!" I then tried to say to her we wouldn't have minded waiting but I would have been nice to have been told. She then cut me off and rudely said "just hold on a minute ma'am" I'm 23!! I have worked in hospo, and in hotels and you need to gage who you say ma'am to. Any way that's no the point. She was rude. And then said they won't be long do you still want them. Yes course we did we had already waited 45 minutes for them. 5 minutes later we got our coffees, rudely slammed in front of us and not told which one is which. And no apology, we then walked through the front area where the restaurant is. To find there was another coffee machine and weren't that busy! Very unpleasant.
