"It might take you a few minutes to walk to the end of the wharf but it's worth the stroll. A large, open space serves as the Sydney Theatre Company's intermission hangout but what many Sydney siders don't know - it's a cracking bar with a even better view. Settle into one of the many outdoor stools wrapping around the outside and watch your dream boat drift by under the the Sydney Harbour Bridge." - Grandma's Bar for 8 Hospitality

Fabulous food in this amazing location overlooking Sydney harbour and the harbour bridge! It was a spectacular meal with the duck, cauliflower and beef being a particular standout. The two kinds of bread were also amazing! Full bar catering for every taste. Plenty of parking on the street outside, if it is busy, there is a wilson carpark nearby. Fantastic for big groups or intimate dinners, they have designed the place very well.

We had a fantastic time here! We were so happy to find Limoncello Spritz on the menu (when we were in Italy on holiday, many places were out of limoncello). The little terrace at the back is lovely, the staff is very friendly, and the food was excellent. As an entrée, we shared the smoked trout dip, which was delicious and generously portioned. We would have preferred it with bread instead of crispbread, but it still worked well. We both ordered the Mafaldine Pasta, which was good, though I would have preferred real chorizo pieces instead of chorizo meatballs. The garlic focaccia was amazing, and the parmesan on top was a perfect touch. The only downside was the multiple loud announcements about the theatre show starting soon, we had to pause our conversation each time, and it happened at least five times. Still, we really enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back!

Google
Beautiful setting with lovely views of the harbour, easy going bar with small dining selections! We order all 4 mains from the dinner menu and found them to be OK, portions were are tad small for the salmon and steak. Loved the baked eggplant! Impromptu dinner there between shows which was convenient and relaxing! Service was prompt and pretty transactional, no dramas!

Google
It's a fantastic view and perfect spot for pre theatre drinks and dinner. Only downer is if you have dinner here often, the menu is so uninspiring. It rarely ever changes, there's no specials and the starters are so pricy ($21 for 3 chicken wings!). Seeing at least 4 or 5 shows a year here and I've tried everything on the menu. UPDATE (Jan24): Hurrah! An updated menu! YAY

Google
A great place to have a meal before going to a performance of the Sydney Dance Company or the Sydney Theatre Company. The food is fantastic and the views spectacular. Good for a post work drink. Highly recommend.

Google
So pleased to have discovered this gem prior to a show at the RPT last night. Food was delicious, and delivered swiftly; however, serving sizes for some of the mains (steak and salmon) were a tad small for the blokes in our party. Views of Sydney Harbour and the Bridge were breathtaking. Staff were helpful without being intrusive. We can definitely recommend.

Google
Great space for lunch with family / friends, with a smallish selection of food, but beaut tasting. Awesome view right on the harbour. Staff and service was top notch, friendly and very pleasant and helpful. Would definitely come back here.

Yelp
We were here for a Cumulus wine tasting dinner. Plenty of glasses of wine matched with the food prepared by the restaurant. Our experience was really to see how the restaurant delivered a set meal for around 40 people. We were separated from the main restaurant with an excellent view of the harbour, bridge and Luna Park. The service was excellent and so was the food. Getting there was a little different. Maybe when Barangaroo is completed there will be better transport but we walked from Wynyard as we were after public transport as our drinking was not going to be very responsible. In fact, we were able to imbibe and eat leisurely and perhaps have been able to drive home. The walk from Wynyard was no real problem.

Yelp
Amazing views, beautiful original rustic architecture, which some of the wooden beams are creatively used as tables along the Windows allowing for amazing views. Warm and inviting ambiance. Had multiple appetizers and dessert which were simply amazing! Appetizers 1- Cavolo Nero Arancini with Gorgonzola Hazelnut & Truffle Honey 2- Bruschetta, Roast Pumpkin, Caramelized onions, ricotta and salmoriglio 3- slow cooked calamari, crisp polenta, tomatoes and basil Dessert 1-orange pistachio cake with whipped chocolate and Persian fig compote

Yelp
Quality location for romantic drinks - I stumbled across this hidden away bar and was blown away by its view. The service was great and the cocktails - made perfectly. Yet to try the food, however I did some passing plate watching and It looked amazing.

Yelp
What a great location for a bar at the end of the wharf....see what i did there :P. huh! Having decided to have some graduation drinks i thought why not try this place out as i've always wanted to visit but have rarely been in the area. As you get to Pier 4, take the lift up to level 2, turn right and walk all the way down. It 's at least a 5 minute walk. Don't follow our way and walk around the whole pier and then be told that the lift was just at the front :/ As you arrive take a seat and order at the bar, There is lots of large tables indoors, a smoking section with great harbour and bridge views. They also have big rooms on both left & right hand side that could cater for functions. They have Pimms, Sangria (red & white) and Aperol jugs which are pretty dang tasty. Stay till the sun goes down so you can enjoy the colourful lights of Luna Park. To share we order some chips with smoked paprika aioli $9 to start and then everyone got their own mains. I got the Prawn linguine and that was quite filling and nice. Overall, a lovely first visit and will indeed be back in when the weather warms up.

Yelp
It can be a bit tricky getting to this bar because all I knew about it was that it was at the end of the wharf, however when I walked to the end of the wharf I discovered that it was on the second floor and there did not seem to be any way in. However, walking back to the foot of the wharf I discovered an elevator which took me up to the second floor. This bar is connected to the Sydney Theatre Company, and as you walk down the corridor to the bar you will past a number of advertisements for the up and coming plays (the theatres are in this building as well), photos of plays past, and even actors in costume rehearsing their lines. The bar itself is quite pleasant, with harbour views, and three outdoor balconies (with only one that allows smoking). As can be expected, the type of crowd that generally visit this bar are the theatre goers and, I suspect, the actors and production crews themselves.

Yelp
Venturing out in the Sydney scape we decided to try something different. The view! I can't say enough about the view! We are finding that most of these restaurants have a concept where you order at the bar or some central location and they bring the food to you. Obviously this is an Aussie thing. The food is flavorful and they really know their squid! Drinks are somewhat expensive here in this country and the quality is just ok. I'm not sure a $18 drink is a value. Parking in the area was evident and taxi service is plentiful. The service is always impeccable.

Yelp
This is a little known, chilled-out bar with a jaw-dropping view of Sydney harbour. The Bar at the End of the Wharf might seem a little out of the way, and you do have to walk all the way down to the end of the (STC) wharf to find it, but it's a pretty sweet situation once you finally get there. This is not just a bar for folks during theatre intervals -- the bar is open for everyone, and they have cocktails, wines, beers and gourmet bar food. There are heated outdoor areas (pretty nice at this brrrrrr time of year), lots of tables to sit down at (inside) and, I'm serious, they have a PING PONG TABLE! Yes. Oh yes. The bar-tenders range from unprofessional young boys in waistcoats (not that I'm objecting), to eccentric Fabio-types, who wear big rings and refuse to button up their shirts, revealing hairy chests (really not a good look). But really, this place is in such a fabulous location, and unless there's a specific event booked in, it's never crowded.

Yelp
I am not sure I want to share my opinion about this place...just because I want to keep it for myself! Good food, good place, good drinks, food view... what else?

Yelp
We have a new con-ten-dah! No longer do you need to actually be a high-falutin', horn-tootin' theatregoer to haunt the halls of the finger wharves (Hi Russell!), now you can just chuck on some glad rags and head down to the Bar At The End Of The Wharf for some drinkypoos and to look cool and to get sozzled in the shadow of the great steel behemoth herself. The views are great, so is the beer choice - Little Creatures, Coopers, a big range of Young Henrys (all $8), lotsa wine, and some choice cocktails on offer. There's bar snacks too, I tried the beef sliders and the patties were juicy and loaded with melted cheddar. You can hire the fishbowl balcony room thing out with $4K minimum soend, but the main bar is moody and cool and just as good without the expenno part.

Yelp
So, the name is a bit of a mouthful, but the view is a definite draw card for this bar located at, well, the end of the wharf. The location lends itself to a pre theater venue and it works well as such. But, the view is an attraction for those who may not be performing art enthusiasts. A word of warning for women. It's a long walk to the end of the wharf and it's hard to avoid your heels getting stuck in the wooden floor boards. You have two options. Break out the ballet flats with a swift shoe change near the entrance, or walk on your tippy-toes to avoid those heels sinking in the cracks. Men, be aware of this, and slow your pace. When you eventually reach the bar, you're going to find soaring ceilings and postcard harbour views. In fact, you'd usually be thinking 'tourist trap', but you know this is not your typical tourist hang out. We love the vibe - a mix of artsy folk and corporates of all ages. There's not a hipster insight. Not surprisingly, the food menu focuses on share plates and nibbles. Think ploughman's platters, sliders and hot chips with chipotle mayo. Pretty much exactly what you're looking for for a pre-theatre venue. Should you visit the bar sans theater ticket for a drink only, we suggest you pop across the road for dinner at Cafe Sopra at Fratelli Fresh.

Yelp
Theatre, it's great. Except when it isn't. But that doesn't matter, because you can always head to the bar afterwards and tear it apart. And when it comes to theatre-bars, the STC's Bar at the End of the Wharf is the equivalent of the Complete Works of Shakespeare (minus the problem plays). The location (at the end of the wharf... the clue is in the name) is a winner, surrounded by the harbour and the bridge looming nearby, but the interior is just as impressive and makes the most of the old timber wharf. The drinks list and menu are a worthy match to such an impressive venue. The only surprising feature is the fact that I've always been able to walk in and still get a spot by the water - perhaps the bar's links to the arts triggers Sydneysiders' cultural cringe, or people just don't know there's a bar here. Whatever the reason, the Bar at the End of the Wharf is definitely worth a visit. With or without a trip to the theatre.

Yelp
I love this bar, it's an outside bar right on the water with the Opera house as a backdrop and the harbor bridge in front of you. Beautiful place on the wharf to watch the sunset. The live music makes it more serene and romantic. I ordered a glass of champagne perfect for chilling on my lounger on the grass, listening to the live music and watching the sunset. A must visit in Sydney.

Yelp
Stunning views especially at night! The bar is a bit hidden and a little hard to find (which I suppose is in my favour as there is less of a chance of it being packed!). The food and drinks are nothing special, but the views make the bar worth visiting!

Yelp
We journeyed to the end of the wharf and what better to find than a bar the end of it. Just dropped in for a casual lunch and a meeting and was the perfect quiet spot. Even as the lunch and afternoon crowd rolled in, was still not too loud or obnoxious. Ate the lamb ribs and the fish ad chips. Were a good sharing size and tasty. Staff were super friendly and made the afternoon enjoyable. We got there early and jagged the couches on the deck. made for a relaxing couple of hours spent at TBATEOTW. We'll be back for sure.

Yelp
Very cool location, although was a bit difficult to find. There we no obvious signs showing that you need to take an elevator from the pier where the Sydney Dance Company is. Small menu, but all of the meals my friends and I had were very good-the poke bowl especially. Pretty views, and a cool industrial chic decor. A little pricey considering you go up to the bar to place your own orders.

Yelp
Rating breakdown: View: 5 stars Food: 3 stars Beer: 5 stars Beer selection includes Young Henry's on tap, Little Creatures and White Rabbit in the bottle. Their only mainstream beer is Boag's Premium Light. Beer is reasonable priced at 7.50/glass, 20/jug (3 glasses). Food is good, but the portions are quite small for the prices charged. We had the chips (delicious), the chorizo (good), and the wagyu sliders (good). Also grabbed a couple cookies on display as I have no willpower tonight. Location and view are amazing. It was surprisingly easy to grab a table on a Friday night. I'm assuming it's the long walk down to the end of the wharf that deter people. Don't let it deter you.

Yelp
Amazing location with stunning views. Had now idea it existed until worked in the area.

Yelp
As this is the restaurant at my work place I am here pretty much every day and even some of my days off because you really can't beat the quality of this bar/restaurant. Whether you want a bite to eat and a drink before or after a show or if you just want to soak up the atmosphere and the view this is the place for you. The menu is constantly changing so it's hard to recommend a specific dish but I will say that you should always try the cocktail/meal themed with the show you are about to see. It completes the experience!!

Yelp
Stumbled into the Theatre Bar at the End of the Wharf last week while walking around and I could not have been more pleased with my experience. The setting is beautiful, right on the water and private rooms are available to the general public. I ordered the classic cheeseburger and it did not disappoint. I enjoyed watching the boats cruise by in the harbour while enjoying my lunch and did not feel rushed out by the staff at all. Spent a while chatting with a friend and had a lovely afternoon. I will definitely be returning to The Theatre Bar soon!
