The Three Dikgosi Monument

Great to learn about the history of the three Dikgosi and Batswana people. It was amazing to see the wagon used to travel to South Africa.

One of the main tourist sites in Gaborone. It's worth visiting due to its historical information about the rise of the former British Empire Protectorate in the hands of three brave men – Bathoen I, Sebele I and Khama III. It's a neat place. Kudos to the security agent who proved to be more informed than many tour guides.

This monument is a tribute to the three Dikgosi, the tribal chieftains that played an important role in Botswana’s independence. Entrance is free and our guide, Nkgose, was knowledgeable and gave us a good briefing regarding the artifacts. The displays can be covered in around 20 minutes.

The guide at the site was highly knowledgeable and demonstrated an excellent understanding of the historical background of the three Dikgosi (Chiefs) and their role in Botswana’s journey to independence.

Attend the Ministry of Youth and Gender, Closing ceremony for prayer against GBV in Botswana. It was a semi outdoor event in winter, therefore very cold as it became evening. The set-up was well decorated, and the three chiefs' monument was incorporated in the whole look, giving a elegant feel. There are clean restrooms in the area, not a lot of parking for big events though. Best for events in summer.
