Great pub with excellent local beers and friendly atmosphere. Comfortable room and good breakfast at reasonable price. Very quiet considering it's central location and proximity to the castle. No evening meals but good Italian restaurant just down the road. The "smoke room" was a little chilly but main room cosy.

Lovely room with a view of the castle, very welcoming staff and a beautifully cooked breakfast. The bar was like a traditional pub rather than some of the themed nonsense you get these days although we didn't drink in there. Host gave us very useful recommendations for local dining - couldn't fault it - thank you.

We stayed for 2 nights. Let's start with with the negative- no signal on TV in the room, it was foggy weather, which may have affected it, and food service for meals: it's quiet season, so no set times for service, was a bit disappointed we couldn't grab a bite in the afternoon, but I understand the hospitality industry is bloody hard,so we nipped to the lovely Italian restaurant around the corner, who were really hospitable, great staff and the food was lovely! Now back to The Three Tuns - booking was easy, the staff were fabulous, the breakfast was lovely, really enjoyed it. The room was clean, comfortable and definitely quirky! Beautiful setting. Parking easy and not expensive- car park gets busy in high-season, but have always found a spot when visiting. Chepstow has some wonderful, independent shops and beautiful local walks. Yes, I'd stay again and the locals in the pub are an absolute bonus. Keep up the good work xx Clare and Ciara x

As it was our anniversary we chose the Three Huns as we wanted to revisit a fabulous Italian restaurant that we’d visited before our Granddaughter’s wedding a couple of years ago. We certainly weren’t disappointed the room (Cromwell) was very in keeping with the rest of the building. The room was very large and spacious with dual aspect windows (one overlooking the castle). It was very comfortable and had all amenities you would expect in a good hotel. The only slight downside was the room was a little on the chilly side. We were able to check in early and when we asked if we could possibly delay our departure by half an hour the staff said it wouldn’t be a problem. There was lots of choices for breakfast, we chose a ‘full Welsh’ and we certainly couldn’t fault it. We can highly recommend this accommodation.

It was our first visit to Chepstow and we stayed overnight while walking the Wales Coast Path on a couple of very cold but sunny days in the new year.||Walking high above the estuary across the Severn Bridge from Aust on the English side was an exhilarating experience. ||Chepstow is an attractive ancient town, and the Three Tuns is a very old pub right next to the Castle and the river.||We had a very warm welcome at the end of our walk. Sorry I don’t know the name of the friendly young lady who showed us to our room - but keep up your Welsh! It’s lovely to hear the language being spoken in Monmouthshire so close to the border. ||Our room was quirky but warm and comfortable, with plenty of tea and coffee and a small but smart en suite wc/shower room.||The Three Tuns is very atmospheric and lively, and the customers and staff were all very friendly.||Unfortunately they don’t serve food in the evening. Chepstow has a lot of nice looking restaurants but most were closed for a break right after new year! But the Stone Rock pizza place was very good.||We were asked to choose breakfast the evening before but there was plenty of choice and the excellent breakfast was freshly served at our chosen time.||The rooms and drinks at the bar were very reasonably priced.||We aim to explore more of the coast and mountain paths in Monmouthshire and certainly hope to stay again at the Three Tuns.||Diolch yn fawr to all at the pub.

Another wonderful stay at this beautiful accommodation. Lovely rooms, friendly helpful staff who go out of their way to please. Lovely welcome.Brilliant location. Fab breakfasts. Each room is individually quirky and homely. Powerful showers, fluffy towels, comfy beds. Plenty to do in this beautiful location. Convenient car park next door to pub (£6 for 24 hours) Staff all work so hard round the clock. Definitely booking again for our 4th visit.

We booked bed & breakfast as we were attending castle rock, the staff were very friendly, the atmosphere was good, a small bar for such a busy pub but the staff ran it extremely well.| Our room was full of character, beams in the ceiling, wooden floors in the bedroom and hallway were proper wonky which was quite amusing, wooden old bed, we found out later that every time you moved it was unbelievably creaky, we didn’t have an on-suite, we had our own separate bathroom, a curtain blocking off the top of the hallway to hide us leaving our room to go into the bathroom and use the loo !!! the main bedroom door automatically closed (as it should do as per fire regulations) but it just slammed shut with so much force it made the window rattle and kept waking the people in the next room.|| Breakfast, 1. Veggie sausages-plain off the shelf anaemic un-tasty,|vine tomatoes-absolutely delicious.|a large mushroom-no taste, |toast with butter- the butter had been left under the warming light had melted and on opening it just ran out everywhere all over my partners hands plate and didn’t even get to the toast.|| Breakfast 2. Local sausages-absolutely |delicious.|Vine tomatoes-absolutely delicious |Black pudding-absolutely horrible, I love a good quality black pudding, this was not a good one, plus it had been left under the warmer gone hard on top just rubbish.||Eggs Benedict-1/2 a muffin 2 thick peace’s of bacon, 1 egg + hollandaise sauce- the sauce was extremely thick, i put a dollop on my knife held it upside down and it didn’t move, the sauce covered everything, it was like I was putting a spoonful of margarine in your mouth, absolutely disgusting..||Would we stay there again NO.|Would we have food there NO.|Would we return for a drink YES.

Stopped here for lunch after visiting the castle. Amazing pub, amazing food. We had 2 of the sharing boards between the 4 of us. They were huge and we were stuffed. Great prices
