This State Is One Giant Summer Camp for Kids and Adults — Here's How to Plan the Perfect Family Trip

"The Tides Beach Club is the social heartbeat of Goose Rocks Beach: its restaurant serves lemonade in mason jars and perfectly cooked burgers amid a buzzy, welcoming hum, the beach boys set up chairs, lounges, and umbrellas for carefree days, and the club organizes kayaking, paddle boarding, and boogie boarding — it even caters on the beach with expected lunchtime fare and to-go bottled cocktails if you fancy a mid-afternoon tipple." - Marissa Hermer Marissa Hermer Marissa Hermer is a Los Angeles-based entrepreneur and restauranteur behind Boujis Group (The Draycott and Olivetta), as well as an avid travel enthusiast, gourmand, and mother of three. During our four-night stay at The Tides Beach Club, we found ourselves irresistibly drawn back to their restaurant, not once, but twice, a testament in itself to its magnetic charm. On both evenings, we were attended by Ruel, whose service embodied the art of hospitality: attentive without intrusion, polished yet warmly personable. His grace and professionalism elevated the dining experience to something truly memorable. The cuisine was nothing short of exceptional, each plate thoughtfully composed, balancing coastal freshness with refined execution. Cocktails were crafted with precision, showcasing top-shelf ingredients and a deft hand behind the bar. Set against the serene backdrop of the seaside, the restaurant invites lingering conversation and quiet indulgence. The Tides Beach Club Restaurant is not merely a hotel dining option, it’s a destination unto itself, and one well worth savoring.

One of the worst dining experiences of my life and a total waste of $220 and an hour and a half (plus 45 mins there and back). We had a reservation here thinking that the food and ambiance looked nice and worth the drive down from Portland. We were dressy - obviously ready for a special dinner. Hostess sat my fiancé and I at a high top table right next to the bar. We are not normally the type of people to complain about anything at a restaurant, but in this case, asked if there was another table available that’s not by the bar…she gave us the only other table in the bar area, but at least it was bigger and not a high top so we took it. We waited another 20 minutes to get water or even put in a drink order. Over the next hour, while waiting way too long for both starters and mains to arrive, we watched a literal birthday party set up and gather right on top of us. The bar area completely filled up with the birthday party all around and on top of our table while we were eating dinner. We couldn’t even hear each other speak over the crowd and the weird, loud music that did not fit the restaurant in any way. In shock that they would sit us for dinner without warning us about the crowded and loud birthday party we’d be sitting in, we finally couldn’t stand it and asked our server for the manager. After watching the hostess chatting with guests for another 10 minutes, we had to ask a second person for the manager - and it turned out to be the hostess. She came over and didn’t even try to rectify or make the situation right. When I asked why she didn’t warn us, she just said she had no other tables when we arrived. I left behind half my meal so we could just get out of there. It’s never been made more clear to me that people do not care about their workplace or jobs as much as the apathetic staff in this restaurant.

The Tides used to be a must-do on our annual trip to goose rocks beach but this year they just seemed off. You can’t sit on the lawn anymore and when I asked for a spot for drinks and apps they said we either had to stand at the bar or book a reservation / couldn’t wait for a table. We ended up getting watermelon cosmos (our fav) and some apps and still dropped $200… but there were tons of empty tables and we honestly just felt unwelcome. Not sure if we will return next year.

Google
I ordered the Haddock over what is described as lobster corn chowder. Ok so I’m going to say absolutely amazing flavor with chunks of lobster underneath. Highly recommended. On a side note, if you like bisque this is your dish! It has more similarities to a lobster bisque including the delightful combination of sherry to supplement the Maine sweet lobster.

Andy R.

Google
We came in to the bar Friday for lunch and everything was superb! We shared the tuna poke, fish& chips, and a filet. Everything was phenomenal! Drinks were amazing and our bartender (I believe Alyssa was her name) was the absolute best. Definitely will be returning soon!

Google
The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and perfectly cooked. We had the local Maine Oysters and the lobster Fettuccine dish with some Clams as starter. Our waiter, OG, provided outstanding service. friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a great meal. Highly recommend!

Google
Great homey atmosphere across the narrow road from the beach. Nice fire pits and sitting area in front. Is lighted up with strings lights across covered front porch. Inside you feel like you're in someone's spacious living room and dining room being served a great meal. Haddock has a nice surprise of being served on top of the lobster chowder with very generous portion of lobster. Prices are very reasonable for this level of service, quality and location.

Google
Service was awful - our server was nice enough but couldn’t multitask, and didn’t really seem to care. We waited over 10 minutes after being seated, with our server walking by multiple times before finally saying he’d be right with us. Another 10+ minutes after we ordered drinks, and attempted to order an appetizer. Instead, we were forced to order all courses at once (apps, salads, entrees), which wasn’t ideal. Our server didn’t know the quantity of each item in the seafood tower, so he had to go ask, resulting in another long delay. The seafood tower - which includes shrimp, oysters, and lobster - was inedible and sent back. The oysters were disgusting - sandy, watery, and dirty. I cant believe they were sent out. The lobster was watery too, as if it was frozen and thawed out. Our entree - the lobster linguine - was way too salty, the sauce was runny, and our waiter never came to ask how everything was. He basically took our order and then took our money. If you’re considering The Tides for dinner, I’d lower your expectations a ton. We went because it was the only place that had last minute reservations and we now understand why.

Yelp
Well worth a visit or detour if you are in Kennebunkport. In our case we Ubers to Goose Rocks to enjoy this restaurant. Great setting in the beach. Fantastic service from the bartenders. We dined at the bar. We tried their signature dish which is Haddock in corn chowder. Outstanding. I had sword fish. It was moist and delicious. We split a Caesar salad. I loved the dressing. Lemony rather than anchovy. We loved the bar seating. Two could sit and face each other. Awesome spot.

Yelp
We are in Goose Rocks for 2 weeks the end of August first week of September. We strolled in about 4:00 pm for a couple of drinks and appetizers. No one was in the porch near the bar so nice and bright in there. We were 4 of us and the waiter and bartender said to us you can't sit in there it's reserved. No one came in the room and we were there for about 1 hour and a half. At the bar really uncomfortable trying to have a conversation with all of us. The young bartender didn't wait on us right away 4 men walked in and was taken care of before us. I mentioned it to the bartender, and he just smiled at me!! I was pissed but I didn't mention anything to him. We will never go there again for a ritzy joint the help sucks. I guess they only hire cute boys. Service was terrible in fact we were there on August 26th., and I don't really remember dates that good but it's too bad the Tides is overrated and rank!

Yelp
Never expected this place to not have an elevator so be prepared to climb stairs to 2nd or 3rd floor. We got a room on the 3rd floor which was ok and we got to sleep with the windows open. On the small side with plenty of water and coffee. A short distance to the beach across the street. Umbrellas and chairs with towels were available. The restaurant/bar is nice with many options. We had the oysters on half shell, lobster, mussels and mushrooms. The seafood was awesome, and delicious mussels. We did not care for the mushrooms. Bartender wasn't very friendly or engaging but service was good. Over all clean. Beautiful setting and friendly staff.
google avatar

Jason H.

Yelp
This is a hidden restaurant and inn right on the beach. The windows were open the day we went and the ocean smell and breeze was amazing. This is an upper class establishment and the prices reflect it, but in this case the food does as well. We had a waiter who was from Kingston Jamaica and had a great personality and smiled the entire time. Their lobster roll was one of the best I had ever had. Cheese curds and mussels were great as well.

Yelp
The Tides is a fantastic spot for dinner, drinks, and a "beach club" atmosphere. Highly recommend the Watermelon Cosmo. Staff was excellent, and the bartender had a good sense of humor. The restaurant is on the pricier side, but to have dinner indoors followed by drinks outside overlooking the ocean? Priceless!
google avatar

Yelp
We stopped by for a casual lunch and could have stayed for hours. The oysters, shrimp cocktail and cold lobster rolls, outstanding! Will return next time in Maine!

Yelp
The difference marginal service can make. I've really loved this place in the past. First, the good. Salad is always a worthy addition to your meal. They do them well here and I have never been disappointed in them. The atmosphere is good. It's loud and you feel like you are in the middle of a lobby- because you are. But it is lively in a good way and no one shies away from that. The dishes are portion heavy, so you will likely leave food on your plate, but you won't walk away hungry. The not so good. They have had trouble hiring here for the past few seasons. While they seem to have the right number of bodies now, the quality has markedly dropped. Missed orders, water glasses not filled, soups/ salads not cleared, dinners cold. A real disappointment after years of goodness.
google avatar

Yelp
Erik provided great service. To start, this place is located right on the water and is simply beautiful. I began with the raw oysters which were quite simply the best I've ever had - fresh and local. My wife had the chicken sandwich and I had the Haddock sandwich minus the bread - aka Fish and Vinegar chips. Really nice. Tara made us feel so welcome. She gave us some really helpful information regarding the area. We will be back.

Yelp
Note: service and ambience review Had reservations with friends at lost fire and found ourselves with some extra time so we drove up to TBC right at 6 so we could park on the street. What a beautiful place! the tide was out and the gulls were squeaking and the front lawn was teeming with happy relaxed families. Lucky for us the bar inside was wide open so we cozied up and had a few beers and a nice chat with the awesome bar staff. Will definitely come back here... already looking at rentals!

Matt B.

Yelp
Parking is a nightmare and they don't let restaurant guests park on site. Food is mediocre. So many other great places to eat.
google avatar

Guy C.

Yelp
So shocked this place has less than 4 stars. We found the whole crew hospitable (warmest smile and attentiveness from our server), great view of the beach, tasty starters (had the oysters and skirt steak). Only complaint was the cocktail (cannot remember the name). It had far too much sour in it in our opinion. Otherwise, perfection on the porch. We want to return to stay with them at the hotel next summer. Note: we did visit on a Thursday afternoon around 1:30p, so maybe they are just slammed and spread thin on busy weekends during season, don't know... but this is definitely not a 3.7. At least 4.2. At least!
google avatar

Dr. Richard S.

Yelp
I rate this a 2.5. It was like I was invisible, maybe even playing hide and go seek with the waiters. Took over an hour 30 to order. The view was great. Almost made up for waiting. The food and drinks were amazing. Staff was very nice and apologetic when we saw them every solar eclipse. Great vibes and price was as expected.
google avatar

Yelp
Incredibly beautiful and classic beach hotel. My 8 year old said he loves all of the sea shells he collected. My 5 year old loved the chicken fingers because they brought it to her on the beach. Great for families and will be back!

Julie O.

Yelp
Ordered the burger. Waiter (the bartender, who really didn't have time to also wait on a table) said it comes with fries or a half caesar. I chose the half caesar. Check comes and we were charged $7 for the half caesar plus $1 for cheddar on the burger (menu says it comes with cheddar). Ridiculous but not worth the hassle to complain. Food was good but service not so much and extra charges underhanded and bizarre.

Renee S.

Yelp
The food and service were great and the location and ambiance were truly amazing. I highly recommend! I can't wait to go back again someday. When we first got there, it was very misty and overcast and while we were eating, the sun came out for the most gorgeous view. The beach across the street has the softest sand I've ever experienced. Definitely go for lunch and then get your vitamin sea.
google avatar

Marc C.

Yelp
Been here MANY summers, We brought to their attention 3 weeks ago being double charged at the bar $80 for a few drinks b4 dinner. We've inquired 3x and they've been slow to no avail to return messages and help. Please be aware, You may be duplicate charged and then not followed to amend. Very short business practices. We are now disputing charges with our bank. gross. After 6annual trips this will sadly be our last. Update: Spoke with tides after 3 days; still not resolved. Shady business! Update: after 4 weeks they don't care to refund my 2x charged bill. Jerks!

Yelp
Always an elegant and satisfying dinner at The tides; even during the busy season. Main reason for going is unique seafood preparations. Knowledgeable and friendly waitstaff complement the experience. Go for dinner and take your time. Always a good selection of local draft beers too for all of you Untapped aficionados.

Jeff R.

Yelp
As much as I appreciate this place being here, I have issues with the services the food and overall value. I got the beef skewers, it couldn't have been any smaller of a portion. I thought it was a joke when I got the food. Disappointing.

Jessica D.

Yelp
I came here for happy hour on 7/22 to get some drinks etc and the hostess who was an older woman was rude to us when we came to the hostess stand asked for a table. After patiently waiting over 20 minutes to get a glass of water, I had to go back to the hostess stand to ask to be helped. After waiting over 30 minutes and watching every other table get helped a nice woman who was our server finally helped us. During our meal the hostess came up to us and said she would comp our french fries (the cheapest thing we ordered), BUT when we got our check nothing had been comped at all. We left unfortunately really unhappy with the service. We come to tides fairly often during the summer since we are locals so It was very sad to experience such bad service. To add, In the past we have had excellent service otherwise.

Taals B.

Yelp
Great location, great service, good food and good company while overlooking the waves at gooches beach. What else can you ask for?! The server (Leo) was very attentive despite the times (staff shortage) and got our friend customized drink and dessert orders that she asked for (she's a regular). I'll definitely be back for the shrimp tacos, crab hush puppies but it's a little too expensive for my taste. Also I might check them out when they have less guests in their inn.

Mike T.

Yelp
Over priced, mediocre to poor quality food and drink. I spent, including a 20% gratuity, close to $300 for 3 entrees, 5 drinks in total, 2 deserts. The very limited menu and tiny cocktails was not what I would have expected in a place like the Tides. I ordered the Fish & Chips and i would not be able to tell the difference between what I got and supermarket frozen fish. The cocktails were served in small mason jars that were filled with ice. $18? Really. Loctation and ambience aside, you would do much better in just about any other restaurant in Kport. Was at the Tides 3 years ago but did not remember the lack of quality and over priced everything. As a local resident, I have been in just about every restaurant in the area multiple times. Tides.... Not again.

Alexander G.

Yelp
Food is superb here. Ambiance is very nice especially during daylight hours to look out over the ocean. Service was very slow and painful although the staff is extremely polite. Don't be in any hurry to eat here!

Brian W.

Yelp
I was just here for happy hour. This part of Kennebunkport has a very nice vibe, The Tides is right across from Goose Rocks Beach, and it's truly a lovely spot. The drinks were on point as were the apps. I will be back.
google avatar

A Z Flor H.

Yelp
We ate here for dinner on our short stay while visiting Kennebunkport. We made 6pm reservations (Tuesday) just in case but when we got there it wasn't too crowded during happy hour and we were seated immediately regardless. We ordered a few snacks/ appetizers to share. The shrimp spring roll was fresh, light and guilt free. You MUST order the crab dip. It was amazing. The wonton chips were crunchy and crispy. And the dip was savory, creamy, and warm. The red quinoa salad. Also light and tangy. Enough to share between two. The pork belly tacos: sweet and savory. The strawberries and feta were a nice surprise and a unqiue twist. The clam chowder was also satisfying. By now I'm stuffed. But still enough room for the vanilla orange cheesecake. This is a great spot for dinner for a date night. We weren't guests at the hotel but I would love to come back as a guest. Again, we only visited the restaurant, TBC. But the lobby interior is also very modern and classy. My favorite part was after dinner. I loved just sitting on the porch and watching the ocean waves of Goose Rock's Beach from our rocking chairs. And even though it was a little breezy, there were a few blankets for our convenience to keep warm. The food is excellent. The service is excellent. The ambiance is amazing.

Holly W.

Yelp
We have been coming here every summer since 2015, the drinks are great but the service has gotten terrible!!! Tonight we decided to dine in for our anniversary, we were appalled that we were just offered our check and not even offered dessert or champagne. We even included this information on our reservation. Disappointed to say the least!
google avatar

Michelle W.

Yelp
We have dined at the Tides many times in the last few years with mixed results. The food is mostly marginal (especially for the price), but being able to walk to dinner is a huge draw for us. However, this past Saturday was the last straw and we won't be back. Arrived at 6pm for our reservation, had to shout to be heard by the host as there was a large party in the front room by the bar (seemed to be along the lines of a rehearsal dinner). The other half of the restaurant was empty save for 2 women half way through their meal so I assumed that was where we would be sat. Wrong. The host (who I suspect was the manager) leads us to a 2 top table in the bar area shoved up against the wall of the room the large party was in, with openings to that room on either side of the table, and people spilling out and filling up the bar area and surrounding said table. I was actually so shocked that all I could say was "you're kidding me" to which he replied something like unfortunately there is no where else, all the other 2 tops are being used by the party. Ummm, what? How does that even make sense? There are 2 women dining in the otherwise EMPTY room on the other side. I mean I could have picked up that table and found anywhere to put it, even outside! Seeing as how I would rather eat cold pizza at home where at least I could have some type of dinner conversation, we left. The host didn't even pretend to care, just said a snarky "so, no?" when we turned around to leave.
google avatar

Kathy M.

Yelp
Food just ok, prices quite high. And, tuna poke very short on the tuna(!) and served with cold(!) hard(!!) rice. Ugh! One should never eat cold rice! The haddock was fried. The swordfish was very good though.
google avatar

Kate C.

Yelp
We had a great meal at the Tides tonight! Even on a rainy October night, we were perfectly comfortable eating outside on the deck. We absolutely loved the Maine crab dip - definitely perfect for a cold night! I had the fried chicken sandwich, which was absolutely delicious. My fiancé had the fall salad with chicken, and he ate every last bite. We tried to save room for dessert but the appetizer and main course was too good!! We felt completely safe dining here during the COVID-19 pandemic. They enforced masks and had great outdoor options. All in all, I would highly recommend their porch dining for a dinner that you won't forget!
google avatar

Melissa D.

Yelp
We had oysters, Burrata salad and the spicy Tuna Poke. Oysters were great, Burrata was excellent (light on tomato's) and the Spicy Tuna poke was good (tuna was not as fresh as could be). Definitely recommend for a nice afternoon lunch. Find parking along the street if you can (it's free) and plan for a relaxing meal.
google avatar

Chelsea E.

Yelp
Really enjoyed our lunch here while we relaxed. It was just like being at the beach, but with shade, bathrooms, drinks and music. LOL Very cute and updated interiors. Feels super stylish and trendy in the cute beach town. We had the chicken poppers, quinoa salad and chicken sandwich. Crispy chicken was the best of the three we'd tried over the week. Will def return.
google avatar

Laura A.

Yelp
We visited Thai spot while staying at the Hidden Pond (sister property) on the first day it opened for the season. The view of the water was lovely and locals seemed to be happy to be back in action for the season! The oysters were fresh and drinks were strong :) ! The main course was very good - cod and vegetable gnocchi. For dessert the rhubarb and strawberry crisp was yummy as well. The service team was a little rusty since it was the first day back in action for the season. And, the location is interesting - on the main floor of the inn. It felt pretty pretty casual and was family friendly.

Russel R.

Yelp
Over $40 for a lobster roll? The rest of the meal was excellent and fairly priced, but the lunchtime menu had one item priced "mkt" that presumably would mimic other restaurant lunch prices. Imagine the shock when the bill showed $43 and it was no error? Anyway, more of a cautionary tale to ask what their prices are. Tonight I could have had a lobster dinner with a lot more lobster and better sides for similar money.
google avatar

Snick S.

Yelp
Great views and food. The staff were very friendly and added allot to the experience. Food was amazing I had the fried haddock sandwich with the vinegar and salt fries. The fries where the best I ever had and the fried haddock sandwich was very tasty.
google avatar

Grace D.

Yelp
The Tides Beach Club has a great ambiance and atmosphere, it is on the beach so it is very beautiful. The food compared to the price is not it for me, I was not WOWed by the food and it could have been better. The service was average the last time I went.
google avatar

Laura C.

Yelp
This spot is a hotel & restaurant nestled right along the beach. The location isn't near many other restaurants so I highly recommend making a reservation in advanced. When making a reservation you do have the choice to eat inside or outside. Parking can be tricky, there are very limited spots unless you have a beach parking pass. I had really high hopes for this place but walked away saying "it was ok". Nothing about the restaurant besides the view or the decor we're to write home about (pun intended). I wouldn't not recommend but I do think there are better restaurants closer to town.

Emma T.

Yelp
If you're going to Goose Rocks Beach and looking for a spot to get dinner and drinks with family and friends, this is a perfect spot. It's open to people not staying at the hotel and located right across from the beach. We ate outside and had beautiful views of the beach. The inside has a nice trendy, coastal vibe. I had the noodle bowl and a spicy margarita. Our group also shared the wings -- the drink was great, and all the food was good. I've only been for lunch, but I generally prefer the food at the Boathouse in Dock Square (owned by the same group). During peak season, I can imagine this place is difficult to get into or find parking for. If you're not staying at the inn, you have to find parking along the beach, which fills quickly in the summer months (and I believe if you're not a town resident you have to pay to park).
google avatar

Mira H.

Yelp
Had a Caesar to start and then had the "snack" sized tacos as I wanted a lighter meal. Finished off with the strawberry rhubarb crisp. Would definitely recommend the tacos!

Peter L.

Yelp
Happy hour drinks and shareable were great so we stayed and had dinner. We shared and really enjoyed the Seafood Bucatini. With our 2 shareables, this was plenty. The brussels were great. We also got hush puppies which were good, but then saw the deviled eggs which looked better. Also, our server was Chavoy, who we also recommend. Thanks!
google avatar

Kristina T.

Yelp
Swordfish was really good. Excellent service and drink selection with a lively and fun hotel indoor/outdoor vibe. The oatmeal crisp was also delicious.
google avatar

Michaela S.

Yelp
Great place to eat, stay and relax. Very quiet place with its partner place in hidden pond. This place for sure is a hidden gem. Go stay there if you can.
google avatar

Laura S.

Yelp
We had the caesar and satay ... both were very good. Then we decided to try the blueberry crisp and it was very tasty as well. Atmosphere was good.

Kelly M.

Yelp
We just had a very unfortunate dinner experience and would not recommend this restaurant. We came down from Portland, ME for a special dinner and the service was awful. It took more than 15 minutes before our server came to our table and she didn't even greet us or ask us if we had questions about the menu. The table that was seated after us had service, drinks and food before we even had our drinks. And the server made three back to back mistakes on our drink and food orders. There was no attempt to resurrect the very poor service. The food was ok but the terrible service made it impossible to enjoy. Would not recommend.
google avatar

Heather H.

Yelp
Service is questionable. Crab dip was not good I want to give this 5 stars but difficult. If they had talked to us when we arrived or brought food and drinks in a reasonable time...

Meredith M.

Yelp
Oysters are a must try when you come to The Tides. Sooooooooo good! We also had the bacon wrapped scallops, tuna poke bowl and mussels. We waited a while for water (service a bit slow) but that's my only gripe. Overall really good meal. Ended with a (shared) chocolate martini and split a few tasty deserts. Love this location. We ran across the street to the beach to walk our delicious meal off.

Yelp
This definitely would have been a five star review but for the atrocious parking situation. If you are not a guest of the inn you cannot park on the property, but here is the kicker, you cannot park in the town legally without a permit,if you do you will be fined. Our party of nine came in two cars the drivers let us out thinking a valet would park the cars we started ordering drinks and appetizers. After we ordered the drivers informed us they could not park. One parked illegally 3/4 of a mile away the other driver just went back to our hotel. I think someone should warn the restaurant guests that if you are driving, there is no legal way to park your car. Other than this I have to say the food and service and this restaurant was outstanding ,one of the best meals of our trip. The view from our table of the ocean was perfect. We started with snacks. The barbecued pork skewers were tender and full of flavor. The meat and cheese platter was truly first class we actually went to a local farm store to purchase the honey that they used. The lobster spring rolls were over-the-top, stuffed with sweet and tender chunks of tail meat. My steamed Maine Mussels were plump, and the smoked bouillabaisse broth highlighted them perfectly. The seared shrimp and main scallops with lobster fried rice and baby Bok Choi with a chili glaze had to be one of the best seafood entrées we have ever tasted. The children in our group were attentively cared for and enjoyed their food. Our server apologized for the parking problem, but because of this lack of parking, we will not return.
google avatar

Meghan V.

Yelp
Cheese plate is very good and very reasonable! Generous portions of cheese but had to ask for more bread. Fun little snack to have with some wine

Ric N.

Yelp
Interminably slow service. Our entrees arrived 1hr 20min after we sat down. Oddly, others around us seemed to served in a timely-er fashion. Food was decent, although we asked for bread.....bread!.....3 different times and were served none. The staff came by twice and said "have you still not received your bread?" Waiter was cheery but inefficient. Won't be back.
google avatar

Shammara A.

Yelp
I want to start by saying everything was great! BUT DON'T GET HAPPY HOUR. The food and drinks are "cheaper" but you get less of both. So in the grand scheme of things you are actually getting less for more money. It's kind of a scam if you ask me. But like I said the food was delicious and the service was great! Just disappointed in the "happy hour" scam.

Yelp
This was our second visit this year. First time I had a dinner special, seared tuna, and it was extraordinary, tender and absolutely delicious. Others in our party of 4 had both seafood and beef dishes and all of us were very pleased. The second visit did not live up to the first. I had the lobster two ways, the claws were poached and served out of the shell, they were tender and moist; the tail was split and grilled, it was left on grill a little too long and was dry and a bit tough. The blueberry cobbler was really inferior, the filling was more like a watery blueberry sauce and the topping tasted like it was a sparse sprinkling of plain flour. Terrible way to end a meal. Service was fine, atmosphere was beachy and pleasant if loud, and menu has both sandwiches and full meals (nice touch for those with different appetites). Parking is terrible. All spaces on site are reserved for overnight guests (spaces in their small lot all had cones blocking the spaces) and parking on street is not allowed after Memorial Day w/out a sticker. If you don't have a sticker there is literally no where to park between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
