The Tides South Beach

"This Kelly Wearstler–designed "chic icon" of Art Deco architecture on Ocean Drive, formerly called King & Grove, is "first-class all the way." Each of the "modern and beautiful rooms" has a panoramic view of South Beach—some via private balconies—headboards and sofas in a mix of pastels, light-shaded woods, marble bathroom countertops, and finished-driftwood tables. Large chandeliers, oversized velvet chairs, textured woods, and metallic accents of brass, bronze, and nickel fill La Marea; its menu showcases local produce and seafood. "The personalized service was top-notch."

The hotel is amazing and the staff so warm and inviting. The ocean is at your backdoor and the views are amazing. You have access to pools, beach and beautiful plants and trees that adorn the hotel. The rooms are beautiful and equipped with kitchen items, bath and laundry items. The air conditioning is great as well. So blessed to have had such a positive experience here during COVID-19 and the staff and people of the area are following the guide lines of protection which was essential for me at this time. I loved the experience!!!!

Great location and staff is extremely friendly! I love the layout of the hotel which allows for an ocean view from every room! The lobby is beautiful and the private rooftop deck offers amazing views. It's the tallest building on south beach so the views are unobstructed! Though they are working on expanding the hotel but I was not aware until I looked for the construction. There was no noise to be heard. Can't wait to see it when it's done!

We loved staying at The Tides. After reading many reviews we knew what to expect, the pros and the cons. The pros include historic and beautiful Art Deco architecture (just the actual building "Bones" and some of the lobby furniture; the rest of the interior design is contemporary by a famous designer, and the bedrooms have been completely remodeled into all ocean front suites), elegant atmosphere, location in the heart of action packed South Beach, and gorgeous ocean and beach views. The sophisticated decor is consistent throughout the building - entry, lobby, and bedrooms. Our bedroom on the 8th floor was huge (we got an upgrade via Tablet Plus). Everything was super clean, comfortable, and beautiful. Included was a coupon for a couple of free cocktails, which you can redeem anytime during your stay. You can have them in either the lovely lobby bar/restaurant or the chic terrace, which is prime for people watching. We also had a breakfast credit. The setting is super nice, and the food was good, but not great. Service was just average - not spectacular or horrible. The biggest downside is the noise at night of the partying in the street and the super loud club next door. We did know this in advance, but it was even louder than anticipated. That said, it actually was not a problem for us. We had brought ear plugs, but we surprisingly ended up not having to use them. I think it was because we were so tired at days end, and the beds are so incredibly comfortable that we would just melt into them. The complimentary beach service (lounge chairs, towels, and umbrella that a beach butler sets up for you) is nice. I never even saw the pool, which was in the back. We were only staying a couple of nights and everything out front is what was interesting. How could one turn their back on the mesmerizing blues of the ocean?!? I would definitely stay at this hotel again, especially if I got a good rate like we did. We wouldn't stay for more than 2-3 nights, because the loud & bustling scene isn't really our thing, but every once in awhile it's a fun change of pace.

We stopped by during happy hour. The drinks were delicious and the seared scallops we ordered were divine. The decor on the inside was also very beautiful. We enjoyed the open air without booming music blasting directly in our ears- it was very sophisticated.

My husband and I stayed at the Tides for our 5 year anniversary and we had a very pleasant stay. The price did not break the bank and service was great. The location is in the heart of south beach so virtually everywhere we wanted to go was in walking distance. All the rooms have an ocean view and ours did not disappoint. They even offer you a welcome cocktail and a generous 25% discount on their food & beverages. I would definitely stay here again if we ever come back to Miami.

We went to this bar for drinks and just to get away from the sun for a bit. The main lobby had chairs and couches, so we ordered a few drinks while we relaxed. The drinks were very expensive ($18+) but we had a good time sitting and enjoying the air conditioning and art deco design. May return if drinks are cheaper.

We were so happy to stay here. It's a beautiful art deco building right across the road from the beach... Close to shopping districts, the staff super helpful - and accommodating. And the 'Palace' which is a gay club a few doors up... (now I personally don't swing that way) but the drag shows were hilarious! They almost create a street party ... such a good vibe and music and really adds to the experience of staying at this particular location. Awesome :)

The rooms were nice, spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The refrigerator was a bit tiny. The location was fantastic to South Beach, but it can get ( and stay loud) for light sleepers. There AC was a bit weak, but the beach access was great.
