The Times Hotel, a Design Boutique Hotel Amsterdam, Netherlands

"This 3-star hotel is located on the Herengracht Canal in central Amsterdam. The renovated 17th-century building offer free Wi-Fi, with Central Station and the Anne Frank house just a 10-minute walk away. The modern rooms at The Times Hotel feature murals of classical Dutch paintings, and each room has a flat-screen TV. Toiletries are provided. A continental breakfast is served in the bright breakfast room, and restaurants can be found within a 5-minute walk of the hotel. Westermarkt and Dam tram stops are 500-yards from the hotel. The Hotel does have a 24-hour reception, but do not have bikes to rent, we can reccomend a company nearby." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

Google
Pros of this hotel: beautiful location, very quiet right on the canal and near to amenities, fast WiFi, good air con/heating. Very clean, underfloor heating in bathroom, nice toiletries, extras such as toiletries, fridge and safe. Breakfast was basic but fine - bread, spreads, coffee, juice, boiled eggs and other continental items. Cons: The manageress was quite abrupt at several points and customer service was lacking, the floor above us was very creaky and noisy, no lift to some of the rooms, and the original room we were given was exceptionally small. Literally just a bed in a room with sloped roof, you couldn't even sit up in bed properly. The canal view was lovely but not worth the lack of space and storage so we did ask to be moved and we were given a much more spacious room with no fuss, which we were hugely grateful for. Overall a good budget option for accommodation in Amsterdam 😊

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were extremely nice and helpful throughout our visit. The room was quite spacious and exactly as advertised, clean, comfortable, and relaxing. The hotel itself has a very welcoming feeling, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The bathroom floor has heating, which is a big plus and added an extra level of comfort. The location is also perfect, making it easy to explore the area. Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended

What a gem of a hotel. Perfect location. Spotlessly clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Room wasn’t facing the canal as fully booked. So our view - well there wasn’t one. But all in all it didn’t matter as I could fault anything here. Would recommend and come back.

Nice little hotel, good sized rooms, comfortable beds. Only comment id say is my room that I stayed in could do with a good deep clean. It's superficially cleaned well but things like the telephone and bedside lights are dirty and dusty. The shower grout line and base rim are crusty and yellowed and the toilet brush and toilet brush holder (which is glass and stuck to the wall so very visible) are also very dirty with a thick layer of scum. Other than that I can still highly recommend staying there .

The Times Hotel was a wonderful place to stay. It felt like home away from home and had a cute vibe. The canal views were great! The loft room had enough room for 3 people to stay comfortably and could easily accommodate 4. All of the amenities were there. The staff is so welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Location was central. I would definitely stay here next time I’m in Amsterdam! Highly recommend!

This is a great hotel to stay in if you are in Amsterdam. It’s near good places to eat and close to everything. It’s a quieter area which we liked but it’s right on a canal. Walking the area was very enjoyable. Amsterdam is a beautiful place and New Times Hotel is a great place to stay. We stayed in a cozy canal room and when they say cozy, they mean it. The room was very small but the bed was comfortable and the shower was great! The staff is very helpful and friendly. We loved it.

The hotel is centrally located within walking distance of many museums, boutique shopping, cafes and the old town. I can walk around everywhere. My room overlooks the canal and has a lovely view and sound in the morning. The breakfast is basic but nice(included in room bill). Like the size of my room and the temperature the room is nice. I can always open the windows to let cool air in. All in all if you are looking for a boutique hotel with in a great location, this is the one.

I had a great experience at the Times Hotel. The staff were always welcoming and attentive. We got to store our luggage with them before check-in because we were a few hours early. The location was spectacular. Not far from pretty much anything, with a close walking distance to so many great restaurants, shops, museums, and the centraal. The room was nice and spacious enough (double room), and the staff would clean it for us while we were away. I would 100% stay here again.

Yelp
Nice canal side boutique hotel in the Jordaan. Close to many attractions, including Anne Frank House and red light district. Although rooms are small, it was fine and the morning continental breakfast was reasonable with good options. We would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
The room I was in 053, is squeezed between a staircase with strollers stored under it, and the public toilets. The room was extraordinarily small, with a window looking out into a shaft way, so it was also very drafty and cold. The public toilets were being used often, so you had people walking loudly/chatting down the hall. You can hear people checking in because it was so close to the front desk. The room should be half price or just not be offered. Also the beds.... Two twin beds put together is not a full bed. Its simply uncomfortable for anyone over 5 feet 9 inches. Shower water pressure was great, sheets were clean and the staff was wonderful.

Yelp
The Times Hotel has very good prices for rooms in the center of the city on a quiet residential street. Some rooms are small but we were fine with our canal view room. Lovely and helpful staff on hand 24/7 who readily stored our luggage on check in and check out days before the room was ready and after we had to check out. Typical bread, cheese and yogurt type offerings for breakfast. You'd do better for the price to walk up the street for additional options. If you are looking for "coffeehouses" in Amsterdam, this hotel is next door to one of the nicest called "Amnesia". Very laid back with good mint tea and tiny pillow pancakes and other food offerings not often available at other weed outlets. Most "coffeehouses" were unpleasant to enter for this senior citizen! We missed a flight in Amsterdam and rebooked a room here and were lucky to get our original canal view room! I would recommend this hotel.
