Paid $42, left with a busted lip and whiplash. We drove 1.5 hours to try this place out. Our non verbal autistic teen son loves karting. We paid $42. for my son and his sister to ride 2 tracks, the Super track and the Woody. Unknown to us, there was a brand new very young employee in charge of the Super track. My husband explained that our son was non verbal but understood instructions, the lights, flags, etc (we take him karting a lot). We noticed 1/2 way through their time that this new employee wasn't using the traffic lights that are posted all around the track to inform the drivers of when to go and when it's time to head back to the start place (last lap). I kept waiting for him to switch the lights on, the panel was open, but he never turned them on...now I'm starting to worry. We then watch this kid walk over and put two cones and block the path as my son's approaching the tunnel. I looked at my husband in a panic and said, "How is J going to know that he's suppose to stop and return to the kart station?" This kid starts moving his hand like he's helping his dad back his car into a parking space as my son is coming up out of the tunnel at about 15 mph. We start waving our hands to get his attn, confused, he waved and kept driving, right into the cone. This instantly caused our son to panic because he thought he was in trouble, then it escalated because he didn't know what he was supposed to do, he suddenly cuts the wheel to the left then hits the gas pedal instead of the brake and flew into the guard rail so hard, his 6'2 frame was thrown out of his seatbelt, his noise canceling headset flew 12 ft into the grass and his sunglasses flew 6 feet onto the track. This kid, in total shock, just stood there with his hand over his mouth. My husband jumped the railing because at this point my son is so freaked out he's covering his ears and in obvious distress. Another worker comes out and I said to him, "why didn't you have the lights on?" He looked me dead in my face and responded, "Oh yeah...the lights are on." He flat out lied, with three of us standing there and my dau. still on the track...those lights were NOT ON. Due to the impact, and with my son's mouth bleeding, I filed an accident report. That is when the manager admitted, the employee was new and the track lights are always supposed to be on with every driver, no matter how many drivers. I didn't want the lack of training and negligence of one person to ruin my son's favorite pastime, so we took him to the bathroom, checked his mouth, and encouraged him to finish and do the Woody track. The kid running the Woody track is the only reason I gave this place 2 stars, after my husband told him what happened on the Super track, he let my husband ride with our son in a dble kart to help get his confidence back up. This employee was trained, the track had working traffic lights that were green and turned red on the last lap, to let the drivers know to return. It's been 2.5 hours since we left and the accident is now catching up to our son and he's not feeling well, I'm furious. I would warn all parents that have young and/or special needs kids to make sure these untrained employees are doing their jobs correctly since the ownership is not, which explains why we kept seeing them all standing around, grouped up talking and laughing.
