This was such a stunning boutique hotel! On a beautiful tree lined street. This hotel allows you to experience what it would be like to live in a beautiful old brick mansion! The common spaces were immaculate and beautifully decorated with a wonderful collection of coffee table books to look through. The rooms themselves were also beautifully decorated and incredibly comfortable and welcoming. I knew the hosts were readily available if I needed anything but everything had already been provided so I didn’t feel the need to reach out. I will definitely be stopping there again my next time through Kansas City!

Stayed there for only one night and I wasn’t let down! The architecture alone is gorgeous! The room was a mixture of rustic and modern and very well put together. There were personal touches to it that made me feel welcome. The deck was well sized and surrounded by trees and was so peaceful. And the shower head was heavenly!! Never had a better shower in my life! Highly recommend you stay here!

We stayed at the Truitt while we visited Kansas City for a weekend trip and loved being within walking distance to the Nelson-Atkins Museum. We LOVED the hotel! The vibe was so high class and all the extra touches were such a treat. Espresso in the morning and champagne in the evening. The different options to sit and hang out were really nice. I think we were upgraded also. We will definitely be back. Our new favorite stay in KC!

We loved our stay here and will never book any where else when we are in KC. From the friendly, communicative hosts, luxury linens that were heavenly (Matouk) to thoughtful amenities in our cozy room and shared spaces -- all tastefully designed and impeccably clean. Our stay was exceptional. We can't wait to come back.

10/10! Our room was peaceful and quiet, we had a beautiful balcony, and the most comfortable beds and pillows I’ve ever slept in, I’m still dreaming of them! Check in and check out was easy, the amenities were nice. The only thing I’d change is the toilet paper🫣 And the lighting in the room/bathroom we had was almost too dark to navigate. But the overall coziness, cleanliness and comfort more than makes up for it!

I couldn't be happier about my stay at The Truitt! I was simply amazed by the grounds, the two beautiful sitting rooms and the sprawling grounds. My room was comfortable, spacious, and the shower was awesome!! Ryan and David were very quick to call me when I had a slight issue. Their guide was helpful, too! The thing that would make this even better would be a mini fridge in the room! I felt uncomfortable keeping my leftovers in the shared fridge. I look forward to staying at The Truitt or even trying out The Aida the next time I'm in KC!

We stayed for one night because our AC went out. When we arrived it was beautiful from the outside to the inside. Everything was contactless which was a nice touch. When we got to the room it was a nice size with small details to everything. We had also got a room with a small deck looking over the garden which looked amazing for the next morning! Extra credit for the owner(s) for calling me and making sure I was who I was because my fiance booked the stay but used my name. Different name on room than card!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Truitt. It is a It is an old mansion, converted to a bed-and-breakfast with the charm and history of the past and the modern conveniences that you would find in a high-end hotel. The room was very comfortable and coffee in the common area was fantastic. The location was perfect. We were in town for a wedding and we found the neighborhood. Wet walkable. The bedroom are very large and the common area afforded us the opportunity to relax and stretch out. When we return to Kansas City, We will be back. Thank you.

Yelp
The two owners are currently trying to have my Google review removed, which is funny. TL;DR toilet closet in room with bed, slotted doors used, see image, no staff on sight to help as far as I could tell during my one night stay. After posting this review, as seen in screenshots, they seem eager to get ahold of me 4 calls and 3 texts later. They've been polite, but still, bit creepy, y'all O.o If you book through a third party, don't expect to receive the vital email that tells you a) where parking is, and 2) how to even access the hotel at all. Because as far as I could tell in the one night I was there...there wasn't any staff? You ring the doorbell cam and no one answers, you need to call the number listed on the little plaque hanging above the useless doorbell cam? You get the code, hope the door doesn't argue with you too much and there's a little entry way, a little entry room with coffee and a bathroom, a hallway, and staircase leading to more rooms, and two lounge like rooms...but no people. No staff. No convenient access to help if you need it? Honestly I think I coulda brushed all that nonsense aside until I saw the BATHROOM! In the pictures included, the tiny tiny room with the toilet is in the same room as the bed, and it has SLOTTED DOORS! As in you sit down for privacy? Naw, you can see everything. The people outside can't see everything, but that doesn't help much. The room with the shower and sinks was as big, if not bigger, than the room with the bed and toilet, so i can only imagine why they chose to place the TOILET in the rook with the bed instead of the room where a toilet belongs???? And to use those types of zero privacy doors, no less. The choice of toilet closet is what earned the Truitt my low score. It also doesn't seem ADA accessible at all, but I haven't done any research into that, so I'm hopefully missing something. But there didn't seem to be any way to avoid stairs in the building I was in. there was even a step between the bed room and the shower room. P.S. I posted this once the charges had been fully posted, nothing is pending, as in the room has been cleared by hotel workers and the card was appropriately charged. Any new charges that might appear will be seen as retaliatory. Something that happened to me years ago, now I'm just precautions!

Yelp
The Truitt is such a special place. The decor is spectacular, with every detail carefully thought out. From the minute you walk in the front door, you feel welcomed with soft lighting and the scent of roses. Our room was cozy and just what we needed with a walk-in shower and large covered balcony. The character of the old home is kept in tact with detailed trim and beautiful wood floors. The lighting really makes it with dimmers and art lights in key spots. Ryan was quick to respond to our texts and very helpful. Check in was easy and parking was available. My partner and I want to visit again in the Spring when we can enjoy the outdoor patio and grounds. Staying at the Truitt really made our trip to Kansas City special.

Yelp
This place is top notch! They've thought of everything. They upgraded my room and I'm so glad they did. Fresh, clean with lots of light. Bottled water and local chocolates. Toiletries in beautiful bath. More snakes for purchase if you wish. My door is double locked and I feel safe here.

Yelp
The Truitt is very artfully decorated with tasteful furnishings. Our room was truly a home away from home. The location is ideal. It is close to restaurants and museums. Ryan was very accommodating and a joy to work with. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed staying there.
