The Truitt is a well maintained property on a beautiful tree lined street in close proximity to the Plaza. The king room we stayed in was spacious and the bed was really comfortable. I loved the contactless entry … you are emailed a code to the front/back doors and your room number and entry code so no need to worry about having a keycard. The owners popped in to say hi but left you to enjoy the property. Having said that you could email or call them with any questions or requests which were answered quickly. We would definitely stay here again when next in Kansas City.

My husband and I were lucky enough to spend 5 days at the Truitt boutique hotel in Kansas City. We were visiting my son. We stayed in the Carriage House Suite and it was just beautiful. The bed was incredibly comfortable. I had lovely phone interactions with David and a very nice email from Ryan. I can’t speak highly enough about the Truitt! We will return in the fall! If you are going to Kansas City, book your stay now! Kelly Grimes

We had a perfect one-night stay at The Truitt. First impressions are everything and The Truitt really blows that out of the water. It’s a beautiful home turned into an even more beautiful hotel. In a charming area of KC, the Truitt is a unique and cozy stay. We loved the complimentary chocolates, espresso, and most of all, the super comfortable beds! We will definitely be staying here again!

Cute boutique hotel in an old home with beautiful rooms. Make sure you receive and read the check-in email they send you as there is no staff on site and you will need the door code to access the building. Parking is limited and hard to find unless you read the check-in email. My room was lovely with a comfortable bed. The location is very quiet and restful in a walkable neighborhood. There was some form over function as you might expect in a boutique hotel. The furniture in the sitting rooms was super cute but maybe not the most comfortable. My room could have used a comfortable reading chair. All in all a wonderful place and I would stay again for sure.

Absolutely incredible hotel! We've been going to KC for years and we will never stay in another hotel again after finding the Truitt! It was elegantly modern, intimately quant, and located around everything we want when it comes to shopping and dining. There was espresso available in the morning and prosecco in the evening for guests. The grounds were beautiful! Parking was convenient and our room was exquisite. Ryan and David manage the hotel and property well, and are available for questions and recommendations.

The Truitt is a beautiful, comfortable, and stylish boutique hotel in an excellent neighborhood in Kansas City. The location is an easy walk to exceptional art and an easy drive to the Country Club Plaza and all it has to offer is we held a business retreat at the property and it was absolutely perfect in every way. The owners David and Ryan have a great eye — and they take care of everything without being obtrusive. Thank you guys so much for this fantastic property. It will be hard to think of staying anywhere else in the future!!

The Truitt has the best coffee I've had for a long while. The interior design is reminiscent of a time that one wishes to have existed without its trappings of history. It is located in a quiet neighborhood right next to the art institute and the museum. The room I stayed in was spacious and elegantly laid out. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kansas City. Final score: "I wish my room had a bathtub" out of "a time capsule of utopia."

We really enjoyed our one-night stay at The Truitt! What a gorgeous home converted into a convenient and comfortable hotel experience. I especially loved the interior styling and the extremely comfortable mattress (a medium firm memory foam bed, so nice). The complimentary chocolate and waters were sweet; there was also a coffee bar and morning snacks for free. Easy to get in and out. The reserved parking and affordability made this a solid choice for our stay. I will definitely return again and think this is my new go-to for lodging in KCMO! Thank you, David!

Yelp
The two owners are currently trying to have my Google review removed, which is funny. TL;DR toilet closet in room with bed, slotted doors used, see image, no staff on sight to help as far as I could tell during my one night stay. After posting this review, as seen in screenshots, they seem eager to get ahold of me 4 calls and 3 texts later. They've been polite, but still, bit creepy, y'all O.o If you book through a third party, don't expect to receive the vital email that tells you a) where parking is, and 2) how to even access the hotel at all. Because as far as I could tell in the one night I was there...there wasn't any staff? You ring the doorbell cam and no one answers, you need to call the number listed on the little plaque hanging above the useless doorbell cam? You get the code, hope the door doesn't argue with you too much and there's a little entry way, a little entry room with coffee and a bathroom, a hallway, and staircase leading to more rooms, and two lounge like rooms...but no people. No staff. No convenient access to help if you need it? Honestly I think I coulda brushed all that nonsense aside until I saw the BATHROOM! In the pictures included, the tiny tiny room with the toilet is in the same room as the bed, and it has SLOTTED DOORS! As in you sit down for privacy? Naw, you can see everything. The people outside can't see everything, but that doesn't help much. The room with the shower and sinks was as big, if not bigger, than the room with the bed and toilet, so i can only imagine why they chose to place the TOILET in the rook with the bed instead of the room where a toilet belongs???? And to use those types of zero privacy doors, no less. The choice of toilet closet is what earned the Truitt my low score. It also doesn't seem ADA accessible at all, but I haven't done any research into that, so I'm hopefully missing something. But there didn't seem to be any way to avoid stairs in the building I was in. there was even a step between the bed room and the shower room. P.S. I posted this once the charges had been fully posted, nothing is pending, as in the room has been cleared by hotel workers and the card was appropriately charged. Any new charges that might appear will be seen as retaliatory. Something that happened to me years ago, now I'm just precautions!

Yelp
The Truitt is such a special place. The decor is spectacular, with every detail carefully thought out. From the minute you walk in the front door, you feel welcomed with soft lighting and the scent of roses. Our room was cozy and just what we needed with a walk-in shower and large covered balcony. The character of the old home is kept in tact with detailed trim and beautiful wood floors. The lighting really makes it with dimmers and art lights in key spots. Ryan was quick to respond to our texts and very helpful. Check in was easy and parking was available. My partner and I want to visit again in the Spring when we can enjoy the outdoor patio and grounds. Staying at the Truitt really made our trip to Kansas City special.

Yelp
This place is top notch! They've thought of everything. They upgraded my room and I'm so glad they did. Fresh, clean with lots of light. Bottled water and local chocolates. Toiletries in beautiful bath. More snakes for purchase if you wish. My door is double locked and I feel safe here.

Yelp
The Truitt is very artfully decorated with tasteful furnishings. Our room was truly a home away from home. The location is ideal. It is close to restaurants and museums. Ryan was very accommodating and a joy to work with. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed staying there.
