The Tug Restaurant

I had the pleasure of dining at The Tug in Swakopmund, Namibia, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. The food was absolutely amazing—every dish was expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. What truly made our visit unforgettable, however, was our waiter, Salomon. His service was nothing short of top-notch. He was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations without being intrusive. It’s rare to experience such excellent service, and Salomon truly made our meal special. Highly recommend both the restaurant and his fantastic service!

What a wonderful restaurant! Great atmosphere, excellent service and kitchen and fair prices! Our waiter Stanley was extremely friendly and recommended the fish platter, which was so delicious! Thank you for this unforgettable evening!

Amazing views! Gorgeous views of the ocean and sunset while eating. Lots of windows so you can see everything! Our waitress, Sonia was excellent! She was attentive and super helpful! I had the seafood chowder to start with a glass of white wine and for my main, I had the local white fish with calamari and prawns. Everything was so yummy. It was light and the crispy mini potatoes were so yummy!! I loved the chowder. Not too heavy with lots of mussels, fish and shrimp. It was really hearty.

Fine dining at it's best. Service was excellent and the food was very appetizing. The atmosphere allowed you to feel relaxed and helps you unwind after a long day of adventuring. We really enjoyed the appetizers and of course my favorite non-alcoholic beer, Clausthaler.

If you’re ever in Swakopmund, Namibia, you have to check out The Tug. Located right on the pier, it’s got amazing views and an even better menu. We had a fantastic experience there, thanks in large part to our waiter, Prince. He was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we felt welcome and well taken care of throughout the evening. The food was outstanding. We started with the shrimps in lemon and butter sauce, which were simply delicious. The shrimps were perfectly cooked and the sauce was just the right mix of tangy and rich. We also tried the catch of the day, which was fresh and flavorful, a real treat for seafood lovers. The atmosphere at The Tug is just lovely. Being right on the pier, you can enjoy the sound of the waves and a beautiful view of the ocean while you eat. It’s a perfect spot for a relaxing meal with friends or family.

We got this place recommended from our travel agent and it was well worth it. The place has a nice vibe, the service is amazing and the food was great. Prince was our waiter and he was amazing and very attentive. Make sure to book beforehand as the place is usually fully booked.

Excelllent place. We got the recommendation from the owner of stay at swakop guess house to come for dinner and it was really goood. Excellent seafood, excelelnt view and great service. I came with my family and we were lucky to get a table the place was full. I recommend this resutarant 200%.

We had a great time in The Tug. They squeezed us in even though we had no reservation on a Friday and the staff was very kind. Our waiter, Salomon, paid great attention and helped us with some recommendations. The food was delicious. We had the Wagyu and the Captains Prawns. Amazing! Would recommend it very strongly!
