In normal non-COVID times, I would have given this restaurant a one star review.
When we called to ask about what dine-in options looked like, said they had only 6-tops inside in the bar area or seating outside that is mostly covered. We make a reservation online for the bar because it's supposed to be cold and rainy. In the terms for the reservation, you get a 5 minute grace period for the reservation and if you miss your reservation or skip out, your card will be charged $40 *per person*.
The restaurant is hard to find, which is fine if you're not charging $40/person for being late or missing the reservation. I popped into the market in the same building / shopping center and asked people inside if they knew where it was. 2/2 had no clue. A nice guy outside knew and directed us there.
We get there on time, and when we get there, the hostess tells us that our table is a 10-top and one couple will be seated at the other end. I'm fine with that. She brings us into the room with the 10-top. There is no bar in sight, the other side of the table has become the silverware rolling and menu station, and the door across from my seat is propped open letting all of the light and cold wet air in. When we question this, she says that this is pretty much all they have unless we want to sit outside. It was chilly, raining and they don't have heaters outside. We're confused and disappointed but decide to take a look at the menu.
We order the charcuterie. While we're waiting, we start chatting with the other couple. They're equally disappointed, but hilarious people. Their server loudly kicks open the door to the kitchen to open it, scaring the man and he jokes with her about it. Later, they want to order another item and let another waitstaff know. As their server walks in, the woman they spoke to grabs her and says, "hey your table would like to order something else." IN FRONT OF US, she says, "that's great. I'm so happy for them. I'll be right back." We're all just incredulous that she's speaking that way in front of the table asking for her.
Later, their server comes back in and the man says, "oh you didn't kick the door open this time!" She says something like, "just trying to keep you safe!" To which he says, "that's great. I'm so happy for you."
Our charcuterie arrives and is not as advertised - missing ingredients replaced with other ingredients. Which again, I understand having replacements with COVID, but we were never told that what we would be getting was different than what was on the menu.
We tabbed out after just the charcuterie. The couple we sat with vacations in Telluride several times a year and loves a place called "there" which was unfortunately booked for the night or we would have gone. We ended up getting takeout elsewhere because reservations are so limited with COVID. Very disappointing, threw a giant wrench in our date night, but we spent the rest of the night laughing together at how ridiculous it was. We're still laughing, but we definitely won't be returning.
