The Ultimate Lodge

Have stayed here several times and it's always great to be here! Amazing service, always greeted with a friendly smile and welcome. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The self catering units are a little home away from home with all the necessary amenities and for such a reasonable price

Ultimate lodge is gem hidden in the beautiful mountainous area embraced by green natural vegetation. Will absolutely with no doubt pop in any time. The warm welcome and staff service is out of this world. My hat off for Mario, Hope, Jennifer, Happy Khathu and to the rest of the excellent staff members who kept us well fed and making sure our rooms are clean. Kudos.

Please be aware that there are two similarly named accommodations in Limpopo: The Ultimate Lodge in Louis Trichardt and The Ultimate in Ga Phasha. If you're unfamiliar with the area, it’s very easy to confuse the two and accidentally book the wrong one.||This issue has occurred multiple times, and both establishments are fully aware of the ongoing confusion. However, it appears to be one-sided—guests who intended to stay at The Ultimate in Ga Phasha often end up mistakenly booking The Ultimate Lodge in Louis Trichardt, not the other way around.||Despite knowing this, The Ultimate Lodge does not make any effort to confirm with guests whether they are booking the correct location. They will allow the booking to go through, send you their terms and conditions, and provide no further communication until it's too late. In my case, I only realized the error upon arriving at the wrong location in Ga Phasha.||There were no reminder emails or messages sent before the check-in date. They only attempted to call late in the evening, after the confusion had already been reported to them by the other accommodation. This reactive behaviour, rather than proactive customer service, is highly disappointing.||Instead of acknowledging the recurring issue or offering any flexibility, they fall back on their booking policy to deny refunds—even partial ones. It feels as though they are taking advantage of a known confusion, operating without transparency, and prioritizing profit over fairness.||My advice:||Double-check the physical address before booking.||Do not rely on the accommodation name alone.||Request confirmation, including the exact location, directly from the property if you’re unsure.||This experience was frustrating and costly. I hope this review helps prevent others from going through the same situation.

We came in for dinner around 8pm (28Dec2024) with a big group. We knew we were trying our luck coming in so late. But they allowed us to dine with them. The waitress was so friendly and very attentive! It’s too bad I didn’t get her name, but give that lady employee of the month title. We will definitely come back!

Friends recommended The Ultimate Lodge Restaurant to us. If you drive by and want to stop for a bite, be sure to take some sanitizing wipes to the restaurant- sauce bottles are not cleaned often and the sideplate with our cutlery was not clean. The food was edible. We decided to skip desert and just wanted to get home, when the card machine kept declining our card. After various attempts the waitress took us to reception to pay there with the same result: Error connection failed, retry. This was clearly due to bad signal, but we patiently kept trying. Then, out came Hope. Hope, to “assist” us. Propping the bill in my hand expecting an immediate EFT then and there. This could have been a 3 star review, but the owners should seriously reconsider this young lady’s position. Please send her to some kind of hospitality course so she can learn some manners. Everyone has bad days, but to be rude and handle customers who actually WANTS TO PAY for our meal the way she did is a disgrace to the beautiful landscape/views and just utterly disrespectful. I will NEVER return to your lodge, and will not recommend The Ultimate Lodge to anyone. Also, please get the kitchen staff to wash up properly.

We had a wonderful stay. Although the room we booked wasn't available, we were upgraded at no additional charge. The accommodations were very clean, and the staff was friendly. The surroundings were beautiful and peaceful.

I recently spent 3/4 nights at the Bosbok cottage. The view from balcony was lovely. The cottage was comfortable and had what was needed. They were happy to accommodate my two bunnies which I greatly appreciate. However due to bad weather there was almost never electricity. Although they had backup power supply we were still unable to boil a kettle, charge phones or make food as one does in a self catering cottage. We were able to watch tv, and make use of WiFi and main lights (most of the time, until the batteries run dead and waited for them to turn generator on). Due the power outages I decided to cut the break short as being home with electricity would be more comfortable. Unfortunately only 50% of the evening was refunded. I do understand that these things are out of everyone’s control but feel that units needs to be better equipped that clients are at least able to make food and coffee on gas during these times. With the storms we have been having I am sure this is a regular occurrence as every time it rained the power was out for several hours. This is unfortunately not what we had in mind when booking a long weekend away to celebrate my birthday. The short hike was lovely, but expected two hikes as advertised which have been closed due to farming taking place. I wish there was more to do in area. A guide with things to do that are actually open and still existing would have been great. As we went to botanical garden which were under construction and closed (an hour away) and Mashevelo pools hike which also doesn’t exist anymore.

I recently dined at this restaurant and had an exceptional experience. The food was not just good; it was amazing! Every dish was flavorful, well-presented, and left my taste buds wanting more. Their hospitality was noteworthy, making us feel welcomed and comfortable throughout our visit. The drink selection was diverse and well-represented, complementing the delicious meals perfectly. The atmosphere was not only clean but also beautifully adorned, creating a pleasant dining environment. The outstanding view added to the charm of the place, making the overall ambiance delightful. Parking was convenient, and the presence of security guards ensured both the safety of our cars and our well-being. The option for bookings made planning hassle-free, and upon arrival, the restaurant had our table beautifully set up, showcasing attention to detail. Considering the quality of the food and drinks, the prices were reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience.
