Recently stayed in The Ultimo prior to an international departure from Sydney Airport. I found the room lovely, with beautiful exposed brick. It was clean and well renovated. It didn't have a couch, nor really a table to eat at, but for 1 person staying 1 night it was perfect. Room would still be comfortable with 2, although not much place to sit other than bed and a single chair. Staff were very friendly, and the location is amazing. Short walk to Central station, light rail very close by, and Sydney outer CBD within walking distance. Would recommend.

Location is perfect! it is very close to Central Station and Haymarket/Chinatown light rail station so it was easy to go around the city. There’s a woolies nearby. The room is very spacious, comfortable, and clean. It was big enough for us to open all our luggages at the same time and still be able to walk around. Check in and check out was fast and smooth. Very helpful and approachable staff at the reception. The bathroom was very clean as well. the shampoo and body wash smelled sooo good! The only thing we wish they had in the room was a safe. But overall, 5 stars!! Would stay here again.

We stayed here for 9 days and had a very pleasant experience. We booked the family room, which had 4 beds — perfect for our needs. The location is extremely strategic, with easy access to everywhere thanks to the excellent transportation options in this area. Unfortunately, the elevator was out of service during our stay, and on some days we were disturbed by noise from renovation work on the floor above. However, these issues did not affect our overall impression. We would definitely consider coming back here again in the future.

Stayed at The Ultimo with my dogs and had a really good experience. The staff were friendly and always happy to help, and it was great to find a place that’s genuinely dog-friendly. Toiletries were surprisingly high quality too, which was a nice touch. The only downside was housekeeping — the bed was made, but the room wasn’t vacuumed and the bins weren’t emptied. Other than that, it’s a comfy, well-located hotel with a welcoming vibe.

it was in renovation and it wasn’t mentioned when booking. Not a big deal a part from the fact that the lift wasn’t working. Sure they would help you to bring the luggage up but what if you are in a wheelchair? The cleaning services where very bad. Every day they would come in but never hoover the carpet nor clean the toilets!! They would just quickly make the bed and that is it. I would still find trash around the room. The staircase was never cleaned, there were stains of coffee and other things since the first day and I stayed 5 days in total. The room was very basic. Not even a table to work from plus the blinds would let all of the light in early in the morning plus the windows weren’t noise proof so you will definitely wake up with the noise from the market hall in the morning. With all the other options in Sydney I wouldn’t go for this one since the price is not even that convenient. I really do not understand how this hotel is considered a 4 stars.

Superb location conveniently located near attractions and amenities in Chinatown and Darling Harbor. Friendly and helpful staff.||Hotel is undergoing renovation so lift doesn’t work. But staff are helpful to carry luggage from the room to the lobby. ||Request for a room that faces the smaller lane instead of the main road for a quieter stay.

Booked a Family room for 2n, and it was perfect with 4x single beds, high ceilings, large windows, central location in Chinatown area and affordable price range. The old style windows have had some kind upgrade so theres much less noise coming from outside, and better thermal efficiency for the room. The elevator was out of order during our stay, but it didn't affect us much really, with our room located on 1st floor - it was a short flight if stairs getting in & out of the room. WIFI & TV worked great. The bathroom felt large (although puzzled by lack of toilet brush). Shower water pressure was great, and water could get quite hot - that was easy to control with the shower mixer. Lots of thought has gone into the convenience for guests: from the generous mugs; kettle that completely fits under the bathroom tap; full length mirror; individual bedside tables & power sockets in proximity. I should mention the reception staff were great and really made an effort to connect with guests. I'd stay here again.

Good location close to lots of food options and Sydney Central. We stayed here in winter. The AC is unable to heat the room, instead it blasts cold air into the room. Also unable to have a warm shower. Even with the tap turned completely to hot the water comes out cold. Also very noisy in the night, with lots of creaking from different parts of the room. We stayed here so we could get to the airport using the train in the morning. The lift was not in use, meaning our heavy suitcases had to be carried up a few flights of stairs.
