The Union Club Hotel at Purdue University, Autograph Collection (West Lafayette, Indiana) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Every college and university should be so lucky as to have something like the Union Club Hotel at Purdue University — a hotel with a hundred years of history, set right on campus, but one that’s not afraid of incorporating a bit of contemporary design and an awareness that a hotel can be more than just a lodging. This one’s got personality to spare, and though it’s full of references to the university, it steers just to the right side of collegiate kitsch. 8Eleven Modern Bistro, in particular, goes above and beyond, serving farm-fresh and seasonal fare with a tasteful French accent." - Tablet Hotels

I am always blown away by the Purdue Union Hotel. The rooms are gorgeous, amenities are wonderful and the location on campus can't be beat. This is the only place I stay when I come to visit my daughter. The check in was delayed quite a bit on this past visit but they made up for it. Definitely will not hold that against them. Will be back

If you are going to be on Purdue's Campus, this is the place to stay (this is a Marriot Autograph Collection Hotel) This is our second time staying here ( our son attends Purdue) and we will be back again for parents' weekend in September!|This hotel has been updated and has modern stylish rooms... it has as a modern yet historic boutique ambiance to it. You cannot beat the location for all things "Purdue" as it is right on campus! ||Many of the staff members are students and they are excellent at customer service, truly a pleasure to stay here. At the front desk... Jackie, Caden and Vedaant took amazing care of us. Whatever we needed or had questions about they quickly and kindly helped us. We watched as they treated each guest who approached the front desk with genuine care. AWESOME. By the time we left we felt like family, lol! Caden remembers our family every time we call. Pretty cool. Thank you, Caden. ||We also dined in the 8Eleven restaurant/bistro. We have had numerous breakfasts and several dinners here. The staff is always attentive, and the food is quite good. Boiler Up Bar is classy & cozy. As a marketing person... when it comes to customer service, I am pretty tough to please... these folks did an impressive job; a class act. I want to say to Victoria Wicks that you manage a great hotel and hire lovely people. YOU are doing a tremendous job too. Hope to meet you next time:-) |We truly look forward to returning for years to come. Thank YOU. M Watson

Our grandson will be starting his senior year at Purdue in August and, out of the numerous visits we have made over the last three years, we had not yet had the pleasure of staying at the Union Club Hotel. My husband and I absolutely loved it. It is a true gem. It is beautiful and charming, exceptionally clean, and the staff are all very friendly and welcoming. And, of course, being right on campus makes this super convenient. While here you must try the 8Eleven Modern Bistro inside the hotel. It was fabulous.

I can't say enough good things about our stay here! The staff went out of their way to be helpful, the hotel provides lively little amenities in the lobby (sunblock, rain ponchos, and electrolyte packets for move-in weekend), and they cheerfully received and held many packages for us that were shipped early for move-in. The rooms are great (a suite with a sofa bed is perfect), ample parking is across the street, and the on-site restaurant was delicious. Staying here made move-in weekend a breeze! Thank you!

The BEST property! There are SO MANY reasons why this is a diamond of a gem in the Marriott portfolio! Student run, Purdue-centric, tasteful & historic touches EVERYWHERE that show reverence & pride that you can't help but get caught up in. Not the largest of rooms & bathrooms but SO WELL APPOINTED, I didn't even mind! And being attached to the Union where the bar, cafe and our wedding events were made it even lovelier! And if you like college town life, it's proximity to Harry's Chocolate Shop bar and the rest of the iconic places that the Boilermakers enjoy, is hard to beat!

Very nice hotel right on the Purdue campus. It has easy access to the entire campus, sporting venues, stores, restaurants. It's also very convenient for campus tours. Most of the employees are Purdue students. Room would get 5 stars except for one feature. It seems a shorter mattress was put on the pedestal. The pedestal is black and sticks out past the mattress. Out is difficult to see and it's easy to bang your leg into the corners.

Very nice hotel in a perfect area of the beautiful Purdue conference. Rooms are nice, decor is cool. Dining options are solid. Only drawback is the staff all seems very new and young/inexperienced (college kids?), so there is a lack of attention to detail and lack of knowledge of the property. But the hotel itself is great.

Not particularly impressed. Maybe the bar was set too high, but I was told by colleagues that the UCH is the "best hotel in town." Front desk service was friendly enough. Room walls were really thin though, I could hear conversation, TV, and bathroom usage of my neighbors. Decor is cute but cheap. The bed is weird - it's one of those IKEA underbed storage beds. Why? Who uses the underbed storage cabinets? It leads to this awkward lip that juts out from beyond the end of the bed, leading you to kick it with your shins as you walk by or bump into it as you get off the bed. Seems unnecessary and rather dangerous for children. Dresser was filled to the brim with hangers - making it very hard to actually hang anything. (I did love the chair in the room though - very comfortable!) My room was the furthest possible from the elevator, leading to a long walk every time to/from my room, and the view is just trees. Also, the attached "bakery" had minimal selection (some generic croissants and muffins) and the restaurant's breakfast selection is pretty uninspired. Price wasn't an issue during my visit since I was being covered by the university but I still opted to walk to a nearby breakfast place after checking out the menu. I'm not sure why other reviewers call this a "luxury hotel" but it barely passes as a standard one. If I were booking myself, I would've booked a cheaper place close by.
