Not particularly impressed. Maybe the bar was set too high, but I was told by colleagues that the UCH is the "best hotel in town." Front desk service was friendly enough. Room walls were really thin though, I could hear conversation, TV, and bathroom usage of my neighbors. Decor is cute but cheap. The bed is weird - it's one of those IKEA underbed storage beds. Why? Who uses the underbed storage cabinets? It leads to this awkward lip that juts out from beyond the end of the bed, leading you to kick it with your shins as you walk by or bump into it as you get off the bed. Seems unnecessary and rather dangerous for children. Dresser was filled to the brim with hangers - making it very hard to actually hang anything. (I did love the chair in the room though - very comfortable!) My room was the furthest possible from the elevator, leading to a long walk every time to/from my room, and the view is just trees.
Also, the attached "bakery" had minimal selection (some generic croissants and muffins) and the restaurant's breakfast selection is pretty uninspired. Price wasn't an issue during my visit since I was being covered by the university but I still opted to walk to a nearby breakfast place after checking out the menu.
I'm not sure why other reviewers call this a "luxury hotel" but it barely passes as a standard one. If I were booking myself, I would've booked a cheaper place close by.
