The Union Inverell

Sat down to a dirty table with a glass stuck on it so hard that I could lift the table slightly off the floor... and the floor had food, soggy napkins, and something oily on it. No apology when I asked for it to be cleaned. We weren't offered any table water (we had to ask), and although the waitress had come to take our order when I asked about cleaning the floor, she didn't come back to ask for our order again for several minutes. Despite only one other table being occupied (and already eating their meals) when we ordered, our food took about 25 minutes to come out. The garlic bread came out last (about five minutes after mains) and was probably the most bland I've ever tasted, but the other meals were quite nice. Every meal was given to the wrong person (just dumped on the table) because we were never asked whose was whose - a minor thing, but representative of the overall subpar service. Though they did provide extra sauce for chips without question or charge, and the staff were in the lower realm of friendly. Lastly, the overall presentation and cleanliness of the facilities left a bit to be desired. The mens' bathroom had no paper towels, the light switches and doors were absolutely filthy, and everything just looked a bit run down. Even the walls in the dining area had missing paint in various places. The background music was appropriate and classy, so that was one other positive. Overall, the price was fair for the quality of the meals, but the service and facilities were somewhat below expectations.

Lovely food. Great cocktails and nice service. Beer on tap. It's a great alternative if you want a drink but not a pub meal. Not overly busy with only 1 wait person/ bar tender. Food was delicious and plentiful. The atmosphere was relaxed and not too noisy.

Visiting family in Inverell and had lunch Friday. We enjoyed it so much we had lunch on Saturday as well. Great service, food and drinks. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Didn’t take a pic but the battered prawn burger was amazing, best burger I’ve eaten in ages. 5 ⭐️

Burgers where juicy with the right amount of spice. The grilled chicken was cooked to perfection 👌, the chips where beautiful and crispy, we left satisfied.

New owners July 2020 Tonight we had the most amazing dining experience at The Union Expresso, Bar & kitchen . Wonderful service , incredible food , delicious cocktails by the fire in the back dining room. The owner Friedy Meinel provided entertaining conversation and prepared a flaming crepes Suzette at our table . Duck confit cooked to perfection and Panko crumbed aubergine with chick pea sauce and roasted vegetables was divine . Highly recommend this restaurant! Wow!

We have enjoyed a tasty breakfast and coffee here today. We have really enjoyed sitting outside watching the day unfold in the town's main street. Casual, easy and relaxed, you can order inside at the counter and the staff will bring your drinks and food to your table. Lots of people dropping in for their take away coffee. And it looks like your pooch can join you, supplied with a water bowl 🐶

Could not fault the service, food and friendly staff. Great place for lunch with a sneaky beverage or 2.

Wonderful to see the Union Bar open an operating again. A gorgeous venue, a little expensive though but worth a visit.

I came here last Tuesday for breakfast, and for a couple of drinks later in the afternoon. When I got there, the line was massive and we ran into a friend in line who said the wait for takeaway food was 20 minutes! Anyway, we ordered some food and sat down outside, which was great. The food came out in a decent amount of time and overall was pretty good. I had a potato rosti benedict and my fiancé had an egg dish with mushrooms and honey. His was incredible and my was pretty good, just wish the rosti was a bit thinner so it was crispier and less potato-y. Later on, we came to sit in the back of the pub and had a couple of beers. For Inverell, they have a great array of craft beer so would definitely recommend if you're not looking for the standard beers that are carried everywhere else in Inverell. Overall a good place to check out in Inverell!
