The Unknown Restaurant and bar

Stopped by to check out this new cocktail bar in town. Being that it is new, there are no menus yet. Although the menus are not printed yet, I thought there could have been a temporary display of drinks. The owner/bartender said some drinks and I went with the unknown punch (tasted similar to a mai tai/s*x on the beach). Ordered some empanadas. We were surprised that there were no dipping sauces. And, the empanadas are not like a traditional empanada. Almost appeared baked…. Which could be healthier 🤪😆. Had the guava and cheese and then the bbq chicken. I wouldn’t order again. The music is cool and linked to a star on the ceiling that changed colors to the music. I thought the prices were very high. $6 for one empanada. I would say it’s worth checking out. Neat vibe. Nice friendly people. The stemware is cool. The owner seems to have a great business plan and we will stop back in later on to see how things come together.

The Unknown is amazing!! This place has the best empanadas and wonderful service. My husband and I come here every week and there are always new, fresh and exciting options on the menu. The owner is so lovely to her customers and makes the dining experience a great one. 10 out of 10 would recommend The Unknown!

Nice atmosphere, very limited menu. They only serve empanadas which are tasty. It would be nice if they had a regular menu so we could go there for dinner.

My husband and I came in, had a very nice meal. We met the owner and she served us herself! Delicious food and great vibes, also love the decor and the location. Definitely a must try!

Great little place off the main drag. Menu is limited (basically empanadas) but very good. Service is excellent since the owner is the bartender and cook. Clean and friendly. Best prices in the area and good selection of drinks. It's worth the stop. Owner Tara is very nice and makes you feel at home.

Great atmosphere, super friendly staff and most importantly: amazing food! A large variety of delicious empanadas and each one is a winner. Great desserts and drinks too!

Delicious. So nice to have a cocktail bar in town and also the empanadas are A+. Savory and sweet to choose from!

Worth checking it out!! Frozen espresso martinis are delicious and unique. Pizza empanadas we’re my favorite but the chicken one was equally as delicious. Great atmosphere. Will be back. Disclaimer: there are no menus, it is a smidge pricey & they really only have empanadas & a dip (that a saw). But that should NOT stop you from trying this place! The owner is friendly and you can tell, deeply cares about her space.

I have a severe gluten allergy and the owner of this restaurant assured me her empanadas were gluten free and she cooks them for people with celiac disease all the time. I asked her about cross contamination, the filling she uses, and the shell she uses. I was continually assured they are gluten free and she was more than happy to reassure me and serve me. I had a severe allergic reaction that almost required hospitalization. I had only eaten the empanadas that evening. I have had celiac for over 15 years and know when I have been exposed to gluten. My boyfriend called the restaurant and the owner denied that her empanadas caused the reaction. She also responded in a google review about this incident that her "empanadas aren't gluten free unless you order 24/36 hours in advance and everyone who has ordered from me before knows this" She ABSOLUTELY did not let me know this, and this is a disgusting way to conduct business. Would give 0 stars if I could.

Wanted to love this place, but wow the prices are steep. Came in to get a few empanadas and possibly try out one of the great looking drinks they post on Facebook, however, no drink menu whatsoever. Waitress went on for about 5 minutes about all the frozen drinks they had but I couldn't even remember the first drink she said. Make a drink menu or QR code for the amazing looking drinks you post and I promise you'd be doing much better. Also if you want to try an empanada, you must order 2 of the same kind. I ordered two types of empanadas (4 total) and it came out to $26 just for the small empanadas. They were good but only worth $4 at most each. Left hungry and absolutely shocked at the price. Will not be returning.

With the menu always changing i thought i would love this place. But the prices and allergies keep me away since coming here once. The food i did have was delicious. But i have a few allergies and could not be accommodated and could only order one dish on the menu. Normally i would call ahead but since the menu changes it wouldn't have helped.

Great food, drinks, and service. Menu is always changing but everything has been good. Would definitely recommend.
