The Urban Suites - Barcelona

This service apartment is located in very close to a big Barcelona train station. So it's very easy to move around. The late check in fee was the only disappointment. The rooms could do with a bit of an upgrade but not a deal breaker. There is a rooftop self-serve laundry which was very helpful. Staff are really helpful too. Location is safe and lively with many restaurants and grocery stores nearby.

The suites are well located, near the Sants train station and close to bus and metro stops. Taxis can be reached easily in front of the building. The room is very spacious and luminous. The entry is on the side of the building and not directly on the front desk area. There are many restaurants and markets near, so you can buy your groceries and enjoy the full kitchen available in the apartment (specially for breakfasts,,,) They have 2 washer machines and 2 dryers available in the rooftop. They provide the detergent and the softener. Great !!! I take advantage of this unique offer. But, I need to talk about the reasons I don't give 5 stars to them. This is not a cheap place to stay in Barcelona. This means that the service and facilities must function accordingly. I said this because although the room was very large and equipped with almost all new items, I was surprised that when we have problems with the hot water control in the shower and, with the toilet (that keeps the water opened, noy allowing the flush process), the situation was notified, and the answer that I received was that because it's weekend and also, Monday a holiday (La Merce), there's no maintenance personnel that can fix both situations. I must give thanks to Leo and Erick that make their best effort to solve in certain way the problem. Really thanks to both of them. My suggestion to the owners; given the case that people from all over the world stay in your facilities, you must have maintenance personnel that can fixed any problem that could arise in the apartment. No matter the cost or holiday event of the year. I don't want to imagine if the problem happens with the AC or any other major appliance, and there is not other room where we can be moved. But again, Leo and Erick, thanks for your effort... No matter this, if I return to Barcelona, I will evaluate stay with them again...

The Urban Suites is a hotel with efficiency apartments conveniently located near the train station, a shopping district and Montjuic, with several tourist attractions. It is well set up, with a decent sized sitting area, good kitchen, and a bathroom with a great shower. It was very clean. The area is a bit busy, so it can be a little loud at night. The staff was fabulous. The woman in the office spoke perfect English and was really helpful, including booking us tickets for the airport bus, which is just a few blocks away.

I chose this place based on its good rating by its customers. The building looks like a hostel from outside. When we arrived at the front door, I really got worried that we would have a terrible experience. I rang the bell, the receptionist opened the door. I became even more worried, because inside the building was dark and depressing. We went to the main office and were given our key to the apartment. Once in the apartment, I felt much much better because it was very well maintained and impeccably clean. They have everything that one needs: dishes, glasses, cutlery, dishwasher, laundry, WiFi, etc. Our apartment was a 1-bedroom one and fairly spacious. I found the bed very good, my wife didn't like it very much. Would I go back there again? Probably no, because we just didn't like the overall design of the building; it was too depressing to stay in during your vacation.

Well there was a lot not to like, we had a late check in but when trying to call Alejandro he didn't pick up the phone, all calls were going to voicemail, we were waiting for him for maybe 30min till he came to get us. While he was showing us the apartment he failed to mention that you're not supposed to put key inside the keyhole because the door locks automatically. So without this information we locked the door and in maybe 30min we wanted to go to supermarket and closed the door with a key inside. And when trying to open the door to take the key we realized that we cannot open the door because it's locked automatically. We called Alejandro to ask what we should do he just said that we need to paid the locksmith 450€ to change the lock because there isn't any other option. The locksmith arrived maybe an hour later, charged us for 730€ for 30min work. How is this even okay? The host didn't even ask us how much did we pay or try to call the locksmith himself and talk with him in Spanish to explain the situation. We believe that we were overcharged because the lock itself cost only 45€ according to the locksmith. Our trip was ruined in two hours. Despite this situation the water in the shower was just straight chloride, the smell was so bad that I personally didn't even want to shower. Electricity was on and off, lights were turning on and off also. We don't recommend coming here. Update: in booking site we also left a review and they comented that they always say in the reception about the key and locksmiths but it was failed to mention for us, so we had to pay 730 euros just for 30min of work, and yes the owner doesnt make the prices but he could've talked with the locksmith in spanish and try to reasoned the price. Also later we found information that if you leave a key in the keyhole you will have to pay from 100 euros to 300 euros. So i really don't recommend coming here, because the host doesn't care about his tenants and does'nt provide any help from his side.

Very friendly staff and spacious and clean apartments, close to local super market and metro stop, would recommend it for a couple of nights +. General cleaning are items provided, no food (incl. Sugar, oil coffee and co). Quiet location especially during night, would come back and recommend to friends.

be careful with the reception, they let you go and then find stupid reasons to withdraw your warranty !!!! one of the reasons was that the garbage was stored in bags and the sofa was moved so that it could be opened, for that he tried to take my 200 euro guarantee, but I didn't have money on the card and they didn't succeed! watch out for that old lady at the front desk with these old scams !!!!

Lovely apartments, very inexpensive, helpful staff, free wi-fi and a central location; what more could you ask for. The train was direct from the airport and took 20minutes to Sant Estacio station, which was 5-10 minutes walk from the apartments. The kitchen had all the amenities if you wanted to holiday cheaply and buy/cook from the local supermarket. The supermarket was located on the lower floor in Les Arenes (colosseum looking building) about a 10 minutes walk away. Les Arenes also had Tapa Tapa restaurant which did good Tapas and good Mojitos. Montjuic was a 15 minutes walk away, which at the bottom levels you have the water fountain which was active on Fri & Sat 19:00-21:00. Then the MNAC, the National Art Museum of Catalonia was half way up. At the top you have the views and Castell de Montjuïc.
