I had an absolutely terrible experience at The Valentine in Nashville--so much so that I feel compelled to warn others. I was blatantly scammed by the bartender and what I believe was a fake "customer" running a con.
First, I was forced to pay for my food before I even received anything--which was already a red flag. Then, some obnoxious guy who claimed to be a millionaire started bragging loudly and hitting on everyone in sight. He then told the bartender to order whatever I wanted on his tab, and the bartender "supposedly" removed my card from the system.
I thought that was the end of it--until three days later, I found a $56.37 charge on my card. Keep in mind, I was alone, and I ordered one glass of wine and chicken tenders (which, by the way, were disgusting--I could barely finish one). To make matters worse, they had the audacity to add a $5 tip for themselves--on top of the fraudulent charge!
Since February 26, I have been calling repeatedly to get this charge removed, and not a single person has bothered to return my calls. The complete lack of accountability and customer service only confirms that this place operates dishonestly.
I truly believe this "millionaire" guy was a bad actor working with the staff to scam people. Given his behavior, he should have been thrown out immediately--he was harassing customers and the bartenders non-stop. But instead, he was encouraged to stick around and pull this stunt.
This was a shady, unpleasant experience from start to finish. Avoid The Valentine at all costs.
