Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon with my 13 year old. We were able to snag a table and an order of fried pickles which she really enjoyed. It was a bummer that they were out of chicken though. Music was super fun and everyone I talked to (staff, guests and the doorman) were lovely. The Valentine was a fun family friendly (in the afternoon) spot.

Really enjoyed my experience here! My husband and I tried the chicken tenders (it’s usually a safe option at bars) and were pleasantly surprised by the nuanced flavors of the sauces and how perfectly cooked the chicken and tots were. Drinks were good, too, and prices weren’t bad for downtown Nashville. Plus, they had live original music on the 3rd floor, which we LOVE! (Shoutout to Brad for running sound!) And Emily the bartender did a fabulous job taking care of us.

Google
The vibe is amazing! Watching and listening to acoustic country music while enjoying delicious food and drinks! Their fries are hot and crispy golden brown. I don’t like brussel sprouts but this place KNOWS HOW to make it super tasty and delicious! Can’t stop my finger from grabbing it off the plate. All of the food was served hot, has good seasoning, flavorful and just deliciousness! The bartenders made me amazing drinks that’s to my liking, just as I requested it. Overall, amazing service and delicious tasty food! Awesome music

My wife and I went to Nashville with a friend couple. We spent three days over a weekend in town. We wanted to experience the music scene in town, as well as food and some cocktail bars. We expected to be impressed by the Honky Tonks in town. And we were hoping that the Speakeasy bars and regular cocktail bars in town were same calibre as other towns/cities. We dropped in at the Valentine for music, drinks and a snack. A good amateur country band entertained us well. The bar has a small food and beverage menu - ok if just looking for a snack+. You can go to the roof top as well with great views of the Broadway and buildings. Drop by if the band playing is good.

I sat at the bar for 10 minutes on a monday afternoon and nobody even looked at me. I moved to a table for 20 minutes, still nothing. I gave up. The food might be ok. I never got a chance to tell. Hard pass. They didn't earn a second chance.

Google
Great part of our Saturday night. Good vibe, staff was friendly. Evan Cyote and Logan Layman put on a fun show - the Keyboarder should add his name too! Was cool they did a couple songs not on their list in live rehearsal style!

Google
Music was excellent both times we visited. The drums are walled off making the experience more pleasant. The drinks were decent. The bathrooms are a bit of a nightmare. One of the best spots we hit.

Amanda Rominger

Google
Such a fun place! Each floor offers a completely different experience. Good drinks & great services. In my opinion one of the best roof top bars on Broadway. Way less crowded than the big name places. Perfect date night spot! We will definitely go back!

Yelp
The Valentine. We walked past this spot on Broadway early in the day and saw a sign for a $10 beer and burger combo. If you've ever been to Broadway then you know what a freaking deal that is. We doubled back around 4pm on Saturday and went in to have said burger and beer combo. We ordered it up, one for each of us with an Ultra and a Coors Light respectively. The waitress brought the beers and about 10 minutes later she brought the burgers. These burgers are truly legit. Cooked perfectly, seasoned well with great condiments and a buttery delicious bun. So good that I ordered another beer and burger combo (don't worry, I took a shuttle bus from the hotel, so I could drink like a hillbilly in a holler.) The music was good inside The Valentine, the band was soliciting tips quite regularly which I get because they play on their own dime and aren't paid by the bar. That's a theme in Nashville obviously, it's about exposure. The staff was friendly; the beer was ice cold, the bathroom was clean and that burger was awesome. Stop into the Valentine, the high end superstar bars make enough money as it is. These diamonds in the rough are the spots to frequent.

Yelp
We stumbled into this place on a Saturday night in Nashville and had a great time. The DJ played a variety of hits for all. He kept the energy up. The drinks were okay but we were here for the music and were not disappointed. Check out The Valentine if you're ever on Broadway!

Matt V.

Yelp
Damn! This place sucks! Move on don't stop here Service sucks had to wait for ever like 30 minutes standing at the bar for drinks on a Sunday with nobody in there. Holy smokes they put no alcohol in the drinks had to pay for double shots and still weak. Prices were top dollar for the strip. Will not come here again.

Yelp
Probably my favorite place that we went to in Nashville. Smaller than most of the bars on Broadway it feels a little more "intimate" than the other bars around. The crowd was great with two bachelorette parties going on. Lots of energy in this place. We sat right in the front near the band (Stephen Paul Band). They were fantastic! They take suggestions (for a tip) and sound great doing anything from Waylon Jennings to CCR. They had a smaller selection of beers than the bigger places but the two I tried were local brews. My favorite was the Gerst Amber. Cold and smooth. We did not eat at this establishment so no rating on that but the bartenders were very friendly and knew a lot about the beer selection. Kudos to The Valentine!

Yelp
Ask for Noel. She's a sweetheart. Listened to Jillian Eliza's band . It's a fun place, but not too loud.
google avatar

Yelp
We loved the Valentine! Super fun, honky tonk with live music and great mimosa specials. The servers were very attentive, friendly. It was a very welcoming atmosphere. The only food we had was a basket of fries, and it was very good. They had brunch options. We went there twice because we enjoyed it so much.

Yelp
Probably my favorite spot from my night of bar hopping in Nashville! Loved the vibe of the place. The band was great on the night I went, they basically played covers all night long and took requests from everyone. The bar is two levels from what I remember. There's a spot on the second level where you can see the live entertainment playing. The drinks were great too! Reasonable in price and a pretty generous size. I think I stayed at this spot the longest out of the few bars I went to that night. They had a good amount of seating but I opted to stand for most of the night while watching the band play. The crowd on the second level wasn't too bad, in all honesty the ground level wasn't that bad either. I feel like this place is underrated. Would love to visit again when I'm in Nashville! Definitely recommend!

Yelp
After traveling all day from Charleston, we got downtown, and the bouncers immediately invited us inside. We were able to grab a table (no hostess) and our server came over quickly got our food and drink order. The food menu is very small , not many options as this is mostly a bar not restaurant. Got to listen to great music while we ate. Definitely a great place for a quick stop for a bite to eat !

Yelp
I had an absolutely terrible experience at The Valentine in Nashville--so much so that I feel compelled to warn others. I was blatantly scammed by the bartender and what I believe was a fake "customer" running a con. First, I was forced to pay for my food before I even received anything--which was already a red flag. Then, some obnoxious guy who claimed to be a millionaire started bragging loudly and hitting on everyone in sight. He then told the bartender to order whatever I wanted on his tab, and the bartender "supposedly" removed my card from the system. I thought that was the end of it--until three days later, I found a $56.37 charge on my card. Keep in mind, I was alone, and I ordered one glass of wine and chicken tenders (which, by the way, were disgusting--I could barely finish one). To make matters worse, they had the audacity to add a $5 tip for themselves--on top of the fraudulent charge! Since February 26, I have been calling repeatedly to get this charge removed, and not a single person has bothered to return my calls. The complete lack of accountability and customer service only confirms that this place operates dishonestly. I truly believe this "millionaire" guy was a bad actor working with the staff to scam people. Given his behavior, he should have been thrown out immediately--he was harassing customers and the bartenders non-stop. But instead, he was encouraged to stick around and pull this stunt. This was a shady, unpleasant experience from start to finish. Avoid The Valentine at all costs.

Yelp
I stopped here in the evening and this place was okay but didn't quite have the same vibe as some other places. Drinks were okay and prices were okay but the band just okay and the crowd wasn't especially into it. Service was friendly and I'd consider checking this place out again but I'd go elsewhere first. To be fair, might've been a different experience another night with a different band and a crowd with more energy.
google avatar

Jasmine S.

Yelp
Sunday afternoon vibe is very chill. Good music. Games playing on the tv, drinks and food service available. The staff will bring drinks/food to your table, or you can order directly at the bar. Give a tip to the band to request song. No cover to enter.

Yelp
Went to the Valentine and had the best experience with Lauren! So quick, sweet, and funny! Good job y'all. :)

Iojana C.

Yelp
Stopped in today with friends to watch Conner Sweeny and had a great time! Julio was our bartender and made us feel welcomed. Took the time to give us food recs and made sure we always had a drink in our hand!
google avatar

Diane G.

Yelp
By far our most favorite place on Broadway during our visit to Nashville. So nice we went there twice. The entertainment was by far the best we experienced, with Todd Cameron singing our first night, and Conner Sweeny the second night. Also the only place we visited that had carafes of ice water and cups along the edge of the bar. Smaller than some of the other places we visited, but the vibe was so amazing. Small dance floor up front, a small area upstairs open to the stage below.
google avatar

KayAnna S.

Yelp
A fun bar with different levels of music, most of it being live. The first two floors share the same music with another bar on the second floor, and the third floor has its own band and bar. The roof top has another bar, with a DJ and different music from the rest usually. Plenty of room for a dance floor. Tables and chairs to see the view from the rooftop as well! Staff is fast and drinks are pretty good!
google avatar

Meg B.

Yelp
I came here pre-Covid on a whim with my husband. We were waking down broad way and someone handed to two buy one get one free drinks cards. We're an easy sell so we head all the way up to the top. That one was one of the funnest bars we went to! It wasn't overly packed and the service was good and drinks were strong. I literally just figure out the name of this bar by the photo coordinates but alas, I loved you Valentine. Can't wait to come back.
google avatar

Brooke H.

Yelp
This is my favorite bar on Broadway. No matter which floor you're on it's a blast. The rooftop has its own live music up there and they've got a Jenga game up there that is always being used. The bands are always so great and play all the hits. Drinks aren't too crazy overpriced. One of the best parts is the line is never that long!

Greg F.

Yelp
We were visiting Nashville for our friend's 30th Birthday & Julio was amazing! We had so much fun on all of the different levels. He was fun & wished our friend a happy birthday & anytime we went to order drinks he was quick with his service. Thank you & if we are in Nashville again we will return!
google avatar

Matthew N.

Yelp
We were in Nashville for a weekend and hit all the spots. Decided to go to the Valentine Rooftop for some food, drinks and live music. @Brenden Monroe was performing the food was great, beer was cold, the roof has BUBBLES and the music was great!

Sarah G.

Yelp
Cool vibe and even cooler staff. Had the pleasure of chatting with Lauren, one of the bartenders who is like sunshine in human form. Definitely will be going back

Natalia S.

Yelp
Walking down Broadway, my friends and I heard the band coming from here and were immediately pulled in by the music that was playing! As we walked in we sat at the bar and we were greeted by a beautiful young lady named Lauren. She served us fast, drinks were amazing and she made us Laugh the whole time! So happy we stopped into the valentine, first visit was amazing and we will be back whenever Lauren is working!

Julia H.

Yelp
Love it here! Great service which isn't always easy to find Downtown. Our bartender, Julio, made sure we felt welcomed and taken care of. He made sure we had everything we needed the whole night and had amazing drinks!
google avatar

Cindy W.

Yelp
The only reason I am giving this place three stars is because I did not eat or drink in this facility. I was just curious to listen to all of the music that was flowing from inside this establishment. If I remember right, our hands were stamped once we showed our license to verify that we were over 21 years of age. Since it was our first time in Nashville, we wanted to experience as many establishments as we could in one night, so we did not stay extremely long. The stage was towards the front, near the windows that were near the street. There was a large bar towards the back of the restaurant. It was standing room only, as most people stood between the bar and the stage to watch the musicians. They did have a large set of stairs to the left of the building that led upstairs. Like I said, we only stayed for a little bit, but the musicians were really good!
google avatar

Lucy T.

Yelp
The layout of this bar is pretty different from the other bars on Broadway. You can actually have some privacy and be able to talk to friends here versus the very rowdy ones. My friend Allie and I weren't going to come in originally but the bouncer was pretty persuasive so we decided to. Music was great here too! I would come back!
google avatar

Dana S.

Yelp
Really liked this bar. We stumbled upon it for lunch when looking on honky tonk row for a spot to catch some live music and eat some good food. The spot had the least amount of people waiting outside, so that's why we chose this spot. Glad we did, cause the food was really good and the drinks were decent too and pretty fairly priced. We ended up getting a few rounds of drinks, had a nice buzz, listened to the live band that was playing and ate some really surprisingly good bar food. The waitress was really good to and quick when we needed extra napkins, more food, and another round of drinks. Prob the best spot we went to when in Nashville.
google avatar

Danielle D.

Yelp
We stopped in because we saw a sign for "boozy lemonade slush." That was good and the Buffalo wings with homemade blue cheese dressing were outstanding.
google avatar

Mark S.

Yelp
We went to Dierks place first at about 6:30 on a Wednesday. The place was so loud and I couldn't get a person from the wait staff to acknowledge me so after 5 minutes I yelled in my wife's ear that we were leaving. I didn't know where we were going but I heard an acoustic guitar at The Valentine and thought we'd give it a try. Along with a couple of drinks, we got the chicken strips and the brussel sprouts, which were pretty good considering I hate vegetables. I like places like The Valentine so much more than Dierks or Kid Rocks' places because they aren't as loud and it's usually more country music. The nice thing about Nashville is if you don't like a place get up and walk 10 yards and find another place to try. All of the places are great.
google avatar

Crystal G.

Yelp
In line with a lot of other reviews unfortunately, the experience with the bouncers was absolutely absurd, unnecessary and ridiculous. They man handled my sister and I, for using the men's bathroom while there was no one else in there and the ladies room was full. They called for backup like we had guns and were fighting everyone. It was so humiliating and I really hope management addresses these bouncer issues they seem to have, that are all over these reviews. Shame on them.
google avatar

Rian F.

Yelp
The music was fantastic and the atmosphere was much less crazy than many of the bars. Was the perfect place for our group looking to get away from most of the rowdy crowds in the bars on broadway. Didn't make it to the rooftop, but did make it to the third story where a second band was playing and the bar was wide open to get drinks quickly.

Christy A.

Yelp
We love the food, drinks, staff and the entertainment! Trey Miller rocked the house! Love the vibe in Valentines!
google avatar

Tori C.

Yelp
Much like the other reviews... the service/staff were rude, unhelpful, and not knowledgeable. Went here for a bachelorette party where we booked a table on the roof. However, once we arrived we were taken to a dark booth on the second floor in a corner. No view of live music & also not what we paid for. We told the bartender and manager that this is not what we paid for, we even showed the email exchange where we booked the roof. He was extremely condescending and offered no customer service or solution. We ordered a bottle anyways since we already prepaid with no refund options - the bartender quoted us for a bottle and was completely wrong on the price. It was way more than she stated. After all this, we barely drank anything and left because it was so boring being in a dark corner with poor/extremely slow service. If you are thinking about booking a table here - SAVE YOUR MONEY! not fun and not worth the hassle. There are plenty of other fun bars on broadway with staff that appreciate ppl who spend money.

Yelp
Great space and band on a Thursday evening. Bartenders were quick and helpful. Great selection of whiskies and bourbons, yet their mixed drinks seemed super tiny for 11-14 a piece. Found a blantons for 18. Band was mixed on a Behringer x32, lol i was hoping that a town like this known for its music would not have low end gear. Really distorted and coloured up the band and sound which was a shame. D-live, sd9, or a Advantis, anything to get ride of the x32 pres. help the sound guy out a little!

G.L. P.

Yelp
We almost skipped this bar. 6 hours later.... we were treated to excellent music (Kyle, Pierson & Al) and Connor Sweeny and friends. Cool vibe. Our waitress, Sam, was amazing. Food was good. Everything you could want in a Nashville bar. Not crazy, just enough to have an awesome atmosphere.
google avatar

Travis P.

Yelp
Some and solid venue. On broadway there are obviously a ton of choices to stop in and have a drink. My wife and I loved the valentine- everyone was awesome and the music was terrific. Huge fan!

Alexx V.

Yelp
When strolling down broadway, definitely take a stop in the valentine. More of a chiller crowd compared to kid rock & honky tonk but still very lively! Great drinks music and vibes. I only ever ate brunch here and i wasn't disappointed.

Tyler F.

Yelp
Food was great. We were surprised at how good it was. Definitely recommend the honey jalapeño fries as they were delicious. First Floor was a bit crowded so we made our way up to the rooftop. It wasn't as crowded so we sat ourselves there and ordered a couple drinks and some food. Drinks were good. A bit expensive but they tasted good. Unfortunately we didn't stay too long. Definitely would like to go again.

Brian N.

Yelp
This place has the best fried chicken sandwich I've had. And what is even better than that, is the service. This Honky Tonk has the best service that I've experienced here. I highly recommend going when Daniel is on duty

Ronni J.

Yelp
Came to Nashville and hung out here for hours... because of the music. There were some amazing bands playing & we didn't want to leave & they had a booth that seated our group of 8, which is difficult to find. However, the staff left a lot to be desired. They were quite inattentive and several had attitudes that weren't warranted. We were the only table the staff DIDN'T wait on. We had to go get our drinks at the bar, while other table got waited on. They would literally walk by us like we weren't even there. The place was cool enough, drinks were Broadway priced, the bathrooms could use some updating like real locks and dispensers that worked but whatever. It is what it is.

Yelp
Had so much fun me and the hubby got some drinks from here and eat pizza listen to some live music and danced it was a lot of fun the bartender was very friendly and the pizza was delicious I have never had Brooklyn style pizza so it was my first time and it was really good it wasn't dry it wasn't hard it was perfect me and my husband each got pizza he got the pepperoni pizza and it came with an abundant amount of pepperoni and I got the cheese pizza
google avatar

Laura P.

Yelp
they treat singles like 2nd class citizens even though I guarantee I tip better than these so called parties. They tried to stick me in a back corner. I was told to go to 2nd floor, which I did. I Was accosted & told "you have to go back & sit at bar. That's what he told you" was their story. I said NO he did NOT, I said "he told me to go to 2ndfloor which I did" Then the bar tender copped an attitude saying well you are by yourself , you can't sit there. F them, not a dime more & SINCE WHEN ARE WE DISCRIMINATING SINGLE WOMEN? Shame on y'all
google avatar

Toyin D.

Yelp
I'm gonna be plain honest - I'm really not a fan of country music/honky tonks. When I stepped out onto Broadway, I tried to listen for a place that wasn't playing country music, and wasn't too crowded. I stumbled across The Valentine. The building has really lovely architecture, from the prohibition era. I caught Steve Cunningham and the Cunninghams, a good cover band. They played Prince, Journey, Jackson 5, Queen, and more. I got myself an Angry Orchard cider and swayed along. There are people of all ages there having a good time dancing. It was one of the few venues that didn't get too crazy on Friday evening, and I appreciated it. Staff was very pleasant. Do stop by if you get a chance.
google avatar

Alexa H.

Yelp
I went to Nashville with a group of 8 people and every single one of us absolutely loved this bar. We came back each night and even spent a ton of time during the day here. The talent they book is incredible and it's so fun that each floor has a different vibe every day. The food is bar food, but pretty good overall. If you get the nachos, either get chips or ask them to make the tots extra crispy. We loved the tots nachos but our tots were kind of soggy. For drinks, just get buckets. It's easy and makes more sense $ wise.

Jacki M.

Yelp
This place is what Nashville is truly about. Great music, servers who want to make money and bartenders who realize that they are there to provide a service! Hard to find on Broadway these days!!!
google avatar

Mandee B.

Yelp
This place. Is great. I was trying to find a place in downtown Nashville that played... uhhh pop punk but with a twang? Didn't think I'd find it and we (from Los Angeles) were vibing with the country music as much as we possibly could when I heard the sweet sweet sounds of Blink182 coming from the Valentine so we walked in and when I went in to use the bathroom they started playing Paramore. I ran back out and totally forgot I had to pee. I do not care if you consider us "tourists" but being from LA this place is everything I could ask for and I will continue to come back and give them money we had a great time . Great spot.
google avatar

Daniel B.

Yelp
Weak drinks, arrogant bartender with a bad pony tail... Don't waste your time! The pricey drink and poor attitude resulted in a $3 tip and this review.
google avatar

Natalie L.

Yelp
Popped in on a Friday night. Got a great table right in front of the stage. Live music was awesome - shoutout to Sweet Leah for putting on a kick-ass show. Didn't eat, as we'd just had dinner, but drinks were great and cheap. Service was good, especially considering how packed the place was. Would def go back!

Brianna I.

Yelp
Don't go here if you want to have a good time with a large group or have decent customer service. We booked a table for a group of girls for a bachelorette party. From the start, the customer service was awful. It was like pulling teeth to try to book the table. The sales agent had an attitude and was overall unhelpful. You would think they would want to sell tables and make money... We get there and were disappointed because we specifically asked to book a table on the roof, and were given a table on the 2nd floor. The drinks also took FOREVER and we were quoted the wrong price for the bottle. By the time we got a drink half of our group already left. We asked for a manager who was also unhelpful. I showed him the email where we clearly asked for a roof spot but that didn't matter. He wasn't able to accommodate or refund our money. We already paid for the $650 minimum which we no longer wanted if we couldn't be on the roof. (The 2nd floor was boring, quiet music, empty...) So we were stuck paying for a table we didn't sit at because we didn't want to waste our last night in Nashville being bored with slow service.

Yelp
Don't go here. The bouncers, security, and front door ID checkers are violent and abuse their power. I watched a guy (patron) get punched in the back of the head as he was leaving the venue by a bouncer standing outside of the door. Then when the guy turned around to defend himself, three people from security took him to the ground and tased him... twice. This was excessive use of force, especially for people who aren't even police officers, and an abuse of power. Outsiders tried to help but were confused as to what was going on. Multiple people saw this whole encounter, but these bouncers think they can get away with it because they're attacking drunk people. It was really messed up. There are plenty of other bars on this strip with professional security. Beware. Also, the drinks were awful and overpriced.
