Our two-night stay was a mixed bag. The receptionist who greeted us was friendly but was unable to provide recommendations for restaurants or activities in the area. While there were some pamphlets available, I would have appreciated a proper recommendations list in the room.
We stayed in a family room, which could use refurbishment and a more cohesive style. It felt like a mix of country house and 'modern' décor, with silver-painted architraves adding to the confusion. The room was cold and needed a heater, and the sofa bed was uncomfortably lumpy.
Breakfast was excellent, but dinner was less enjoyable. My fish was overcooked, which was disappointing. However, the tables by the fire created a lovely atmosphere, and the location was excellent. With some improvements, this place has the potential to be much better.
