Had a solid night at The Victor inside Parq Casino. The vibe is casual-upscale and relaxed, making it a nice place to hang out without feeling too formal. We ordered the wagyu steak and the ribeye cap, and both were very good—cooked well, juicy, and full of flavor. The beef tartare was also very good, fresh and well seasoned, and easy to share. Cocktails were enjoyable too, especially the pineapple cocktail, which was refreshing and balanced, not overly sweet. Service was friendly and paced well for a laid-back dinner. Prices are on the higher side, but the food quality mostly backs it up. Overall, The Victor is a good spot for steak, drinks, and a casual night out with friends or a low-key celebration. I’d come back to try more dishes and cocktails soon.

I have been here 3 times so I am sort of averaging it as i experienced it over 2 years. first time I came for my birthday - the service was lovely at first but the food was underwhelming and our order was essentially “wrong” because the steak came out over done but then the waiter told us at the time because of the thick cut of it, even if we had it remade it would still be the same. It was odd because if that is the case why would you even ask us how we wanted it done? Second time I came to celebrate a friends birthday. We had an assortment of dishes which tasted great but then a glass was dropped by accident near our table and there were glass shards everywhere. Not their fault because hey, things happen but some shards had hit our feet so just ended the evening rather quickly. The most recent time I came for happy hour to welcome a guest visiting our family. The happy hour section is only allowed at the “lounge” but it is weird clunky seating and unsuitable for older diners (their opinion). The server was kind and attentive but the bussers were less kind bringing us our dishes. The food was good enough but still on the pricier side overall. The service is nice but you definitely pay for the prestige of dining there. I think it can be lovely for date night or girls night out but be prepared to pay.

Had our Christmas dinner in Victor. Crab cake and smoke tartare were the highlights. Prime rib was cooked to perfection and had good portion size. Mac and cheese waffle was too rich for me. The velvet negroni was not too bad but preferred the regular negroni though.

Incredibile Restaurant in Downtown Vancouver. Matthew was the perfect host, super professional and fun to talk to. Food was amazing!! Never had super high quality sushi and a great steak in the same restaurant. I will definitely go back.

Sunday Brunch Buffet @ $65 per person. Drinks not included. We paid $180 including tax & gratuity for 2 persons. Highly recommended by a You-tuber so we would like to give it a try. Quite disappointed! Made a reservation a few weeks in advance. Got seated at the patio without other choices - it was hot and the seating areas were not very comfortable. Talking about the food first : most of them were okay but not very impressive. Sushi dishes, desserts were just so-so. The Prime Ribs were very tasty (thumbs up to the guy that served prime ribs - he had the best customer service). Fruits were quite good (water melons were very sweet). From the main course menu, we chose Oscar Eggs Benedict. The presentation of the dishes wasn't appealing at all, maybe they were too busy - they just couldn’t spend a few more seconds to place the food on the middle of the plates to make them looked better (take a look at the pics I uploaded)? Talking about customer service : honestly speaking, we did not have a good experience. Service was not attentive at all! The waitress did have a great smile while talking to us. However, when we needed something, it was hard to ask for assistance. For example, we had to wait for quite a while to order additional drinks. When our coffee and tea arrived, there was no cream & sugar. There was no way to ask because she was too busy serving other tables. I saw her helping some customers changing plates, offered them clean knives & forks, etc., but she just wasn't aware of us looking for her, no eye contact towards our table. When we were ready to leave and pay the bill, we had a chance to talk to her and she said that it was because we ordered black coffee. Of course not, we ordered Americano. We did not mention a black coffee. Besides, my Earl Grey tea could also get cream & sugar, right? She did apologize and we said it wasn't a big deal. Again, maybe they were too busy on that day? Overall speaking, perhaps we visited this restaurant at the wrong time or on a wrong day.

We were really looking forward to dining here since it’s known as one of the top restaurants in the area, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. We waited over two hours for our food, which felt excessive — especially considering the high prices. I ordered the crispy pork, which wasn’t crispy at all (maybe they should adjust the menu description), and my husband’s $71 steak had a piece of tendon or bone in it, which shouldn’t happen at this level of dining. We also ordered the large oysters, but they turned out to be very small, which was quite surprising and not what we expected for the “large” size. The atmosphere was nice, but overall the food quality and service did not match the premium pricing. Sadly, it just wasn’t worth the money.

Well….. was the for the tomahawk. It’s want as earth shattering as I had hoped.. however I did enjoy it and it was enough to feed three people and had leftovers. We ordered three appetizers. Which were all delicious. The service was really good, our server was very attentive. I appreciate that. Look at the size of those prawns. Have you ever seen prawns? That big where the hell do those grow? They were delicious.

We booked Victor Steakhouse to celebrate our engagement and noted this in our reservation. Despite arriving on time, we were made to wait while empty tables sat unused, then seated in a cramped corner beside a loud table of 20 who clearly mattered more. Service was slow and dismissive. Drinks took a long time to arrive; the server even commented on the delay — without apologising. Our seating became a storage area for another table’s boxed takeout, stacked behind my chair so I physically couldn’t move it. Meanwhile, staff conducted a full photo shoot for the large “business-class” table behind us, making it obvious exactly who was valued. Food was equally disappointing. The risotto, recommended by the server, arrived as a watery, inedible mess. No one checked in for a long stretch, and when we asked for an alternative menu, it was taken away before we could order. The bill was dropped shortly after — no recovery, no care, just a push to leave. The “special occasion” note was only acknowledged at payment. They did nothing to make my proposal special, even though I reached out to let them know that I was bringing my fiancée to dinner to celebrate this evening. The message was unmistakable: if you’re not dressed up or part of a flashy group, you’re invisible. To cap it off, my fiancée politely said goodbye to the host multiple times while leaving and was blatantly ignored. Cold, careless, and classist. If you’re celebrating something meaningful, go elsewhere.

Yelp
During my stay at the JW Marriott Parq, I chose to have dinner at The Victor. I arrived right at the start of their dinner service and was immediately welcomed--the host greeted me warmly and escorted me to a window table. The ambiance was cozy and elegant, though reminiscent of a classic steakhouse. My server was attentive and polite, quickly bringing out a complimentary starter. The bread was fluffy, soft, and served warm--absolutely delicious. I restrained myself, saving room for the main course and dessert. For my entrée, I ordered the Filet Mignon with mashed potatoes, paired with a glass of red wine (The Prisoner, "Unshackled"). The dish was perfectly prepared and full of flavor. To finish, I followed the server's recommendation and tried Menke's Cake. It was a delightful choice and the perfect ending to the meal. Overall, I was very pleased with the experience and would gladly return the next time I'm in Vancouver.

Yelp
The 3.5 stars overall rating is not reflective of our experience- ambiance, service, and food. Ambiance is nice and its not loud. Our server was great- patient and very knowledgeable. The quality of the meats are the best we've ever had and we go to a lot of steak restaurants. The waygu A-5, cowboy, and rib-cap are all amazing. The sable (for non-steak eaters) was also tasty and amazing. The only "downside" is that they have poor beer selection. Loved the nigori sake, though!

Yelp
First time going to The Victor for Happy Hour as had been here for a previous Birthday dinner. We made a reservation but ended up coming early and they were happy to accommodate us and let us sit in the shady area of the open outdoor patio as we came on a sunny warm Sunday. The view here is semi private surrounded by BC Place Stadium, condo towers, and the open deck with a man made rock island and fountain - cute! We ordered drinks first - a beer and ice tea. No idea what the ice tea cost as it wasn't on the menu but I loved how it was served with a lemon wedge on the side, as it should be. Not sure what brand ice tea here but it was one of the best ice teas I've had as most restaurants ones taste watery with too much ice. To my surprise, they offer free refills and it only cost $3. My boyfriend said it was much cheaper than Cactus, that charges $5. We ordered a bunch of Happy Hour dishes to try - half dozen Fanny Bay oysters, Hamachi in ponzu sauce, Dynamite roll, mushroom aranchini, and wagyu croquettes. The complimentary milk bread came first and it's so soft and warm - great way to start a meal. Next came everything else we ordered. The Fanny Bay oysters were quite small but good enough and a decent price for around $2.30/each. However, I recommend going to Fanny Bay restaurant directly to try their oyster bar for a better experience. Dynamite roll was average but the Hamachi was fresh, tasty, and refreshing. We really liked both the mushroom aranchini and the wagyu coquette as they were tasty, perfectly fried, and not overly oily or heavy. Service here was solid with our server being attentive and our glasses were never empty. Solid spot for a Happy Hour menu if you want to be in a more tucked away quieter location.

Yelp
The Victor was the perfect restaurant for relaxing and enjoying tasteful food with gorgeous evening views before our concert. As we approached the entrance, I couldn't take my eyes off the color choices they used to decorate which made me want to check out every detail. Like the melted candles, the book stacks etc. You can sit in the restaurant or in the part that opens completely to the outside where there's a pool. Our server Dario assisted us kindly in making our choices of what to try there and we were satisfied. If you like fine dining, artful decorating and relaxing feeling, this place will keep you coming back.

Yelp
We came here for the Spoils of Sunday Brunch Buffet. Oh my goodness...I have never been to a buffet like this one before. They hand you a menu and you're supposed to choose an entree, made to order; on top of that, there's buffet! I ordered a Shakshuka for my entree. It was a regular sized entree. The fact that we had buffet on top of it didn't make the entree any smaller. Holy food coma. My shakshuka came with two eggs on it. One of them was overcooked but the other one had a nice, runny yolk. The buffet selection is smaller than a lot of other buffets. I suppose that has something to do with the made to order entree that they give you. Quality of the food however is for the most part, very good. Highly recommend the brussel sprouts. Our family kept on going back for more and more of the brussel sprouts. (Except for me. I wanted to go back for more but was really too full. Could only handle one serving of everything. Didn't have room for seconds of anything.) Loved the mashed potatoes too and would have gone back for more if I'd had room in my tummy for it. We were celebrating someone's birthday so they brought a piece of cake with a sparkler on it for the birthday person. Always a nice touch! On your way out, there's a candy bar where you help yourself to sweet treats like chocolate bark thins, sours, gummies, and salt water taffy!

Yelp
Came here for the buffet weekend brunch. The Victor is a bit hard to find but it was manageable to navigate. You have to go to the back of the hotel and take the elevator up. The food was decent. I enjoyed the chicken and waffles and Tuna poke. The service was very good but it's on par with other high end hotel restaurants. We never felt rushed even though there was a stated time limit. It was good to experience and I would recommend to try at least once. But I'd only come back for the experience if others wanted to go; I wouldn't initiate it as I didn't feel it was worth it for me.

Yelp
We dine here as a group, at this classic steakhouse offering a great selection of steaks and fresh seafood. Their cocktails were amazing. Service and ambiance were good and everyone had a pleasant experience, presentation of the food was great too It's worth it, I'd check it out again on a special occasion.

Yelp
Came here with a friend to try their Dine Out menu. They serve warm cheese & onion bread with whipped butter as a pre-appetizer. Very yummy and we were able to get a free refill. For appetizers, we had the nobu style hamachi and beef tartare. The hamachi was really good. The yuzu ponzu was so good I wanted to slurp it up. Not spicy, but personally, the jalapeno detracted from the flavour of the fish so I took it off. The beef tartare tasted like a cheeseburger lol! I really liked that about it actually. Rich and delicious For the main, I got the peppercorn steak and my friend got the salmon. The steak had a nice sear and the carrots were so sweet and delicious. The sauce was just okay -- the peppercorns were getting to be a bit too much for me. I tried a bit of my friend's salmon and got envious! It was so good, I wish I ordered that instead. For desserts we tried both the chocolate peanut butter crunch cake and the Menke's cake. The chocolate peanut butter crunch cake tasted like some sort of chocolate bar? However, it was Very rich and was getting to be a bit much. The Menke's cake was perfect. Cake itself was nice and light, and the flavours were light and fresh. Really delicious. Overall, had a really good experience BUT.. Note that the servers will ask you what type of water you want.. make sure to ask if it has a cost before ordering... my friend paid $8.50 for water..... Ambiance was fancy and dark. Outside the restaurant is a beautiful pond.

Yelp
Review is for drinks only. Bougie interior and with high-end bright and lounge decor. Bartenders are great - professional and very personable. A great place to grab a drink before dinner and their espresso martini is 5 stars!

Yelp
This isn't our first time at Victor's - the previous experiences were always decent with some hit and misses. We tried the dine out menu and the spoils of Sunday menu this time around. I have to say the prime rib is the best I've ever had (and I don't normally care much for it) The meat was flavourful and decadent, I can tell it's a high quality of meat. The sides were fantastic - the brussel sprouts I would definitely order more of next time because they were that good. Our server was attentive and friendly, very efficient with our food and drinks. Other notable items ordered: - MURGELLA BURRATA - delicious, it was so good that I ate it all without taking a picture - lobster bisque - very thick and rich, a bit salty. Good for bread dipping - Peppercorn steak - it was a bit undercooked but still tasty - cotton candy crème brûlée donuts - it tasted like a cream puff with crème brûlée filling. It's not too sweet. Definitely will come back on a Sunday again for the prime rib!

Yelp
I was in Vancouver for business and visited The Parq casino. I decided to dine at The Victor which is situated on the 6th floor. The atmosphere was great, upscale establishment with interior and patio dining. Our server was friendly and efficient. They're so efficient, they might pick up your plate before you're finished dining. I ordered the Hamachi Nobu Style, Tuna Tataki, Shrimp Cocktail and Rib Cap. Hamashi: fresh, not Nobu style - a little thicker sliced and set atop a slightly salty ponzu sauce. Tuna Tataki: Decent. Shrimp Cocktail: Average. Rib Cap: Ordered Medium Rare, received medium, was very tough and difficult to cut. NOTE: They refired the rib cap to replace original order - the second one was well seasoned, cooked to temp specifications but was still a little tough.

Yelp
The victors Sunday feast is delicious! We had the dinner for 4 which included prime rib, veggies, potatoes, the little English bread... it was more than enough four of us. The dining room was beautiful with velvet seats and great lighting. The view outside of bc place and the fountains are amazing. The elevator up with mirrors is glam. Definitely a great place for a nice dinner out!

Yelp
@jfoodreviews here If you want to impress a date, or have spectacular service? Do check out The Victor! They have on offer a delicious pre-set menu on Sundays called "The spoils of Sunday" Inclusive for the main is a 12oz prime rib, brussel sprouts, and mash potatoes, and Yorkshire pudding. You have an option for the starter between Caesar salad, Lobster bisque or, Avocado crunchy roll Prices as of sept 2024 $68 for the steak, lobster bisque, and creme brûlée dessert $26 waygu carpaccio The service is absolutely top notch, the constant filling of water, changing of plates, and checking in on you is just the perfect amount. In terms of food, everything is what I expected it to be. Cooked perfectly, and a large portion of food! One subtle comment I have is the steak did not come with a side of horse radish or wasabi. Normally I do like to pair my steak with such to give it a different flavour. I'm fairly certain if you request for it, the host can provide as they have a wet bar serving sushi
google avatar

Yelp
Friends and I went for their brunch buffet. It was $90 per person, which is quite expensive--but we were all down to treat ourselves to a bougie brunch. If oysters aren't your thing, this is probably not worth it. But if they are (like me), they have free flowing raw oysters and oyster motoyaki. I also liked their tuna poke! They have a carving station with prime rib (it was a little tough for me--maybe I had a bad section), sausage, and honeyed ham. The rest of the food is still good, but kind of filler. Examples include har gow, scrambled eggs, fried chicken and waffles, bacon, etc. They also have a candy bar at the front where you can grab what you like into a little cup! I'm writing this in bed now (taking a sick day from work) because I'm pretty sure I got food poisoning from my oyster consumption here (it happens -- I don't blame them). I had 45 oysters during the buffet so I was playing a risky game.

Yelp
Did dinner here. Food is good, not great. Service was excruciatingly slow. We were left on our own for extended periods of time. No checking in on us. No drink orders. Pretty terrible. I made sure to leave a decent tip so the restaurant doesn't respond with a snarky comment about me being cheap and covering up their horrible service and hiding behind that comment. As for the food... we ordered the Free Range Chicken, the Bluefin Tuna Experience, and the Gringo Salmon. The food was admittedly good, no faults there, but not amazing, just up to standard and good quality. If you don't have time to explore Vancouver and want to experience the taste and high standard of the city, this is a good spot. The hummus really doesn't work with the Shishito peppers in my opinion, but it's a matter of taste.

Yelp
Great experience last night at 'The Victor'. The food was excellent and the service was a five stars. Our waitress, Tahara was phenomenal, attentive and amazing!

Yelp
Came back for another Birthday Dinner. We made reservations and came early to sit in the Bar for a drink. Being Thanksgiving, the restaurant was crowded. The Waiter was good although we waited quite a while for the Prime Rib dinner to come out. We selected the "Spoils of Sunday" price fixe meal. My advice is to skip the Crab/Lobster Bisque. NO FLAVOR, barely warm and minuscule amount of seafood. The Milk bread is great. Prime Rib, blackened Brussel Sprouts and Yorkshire pudding were delicious. We had a nice Francis Ford Coppola Cabernet with the meal. Dessert was fun with Cotton Candy over Cream Brûlée donut holes. Overall, we were a little disappointed. It was good but not great like the last time we were here. Not sure if we will be back. When you spend over $200 for a meal, it should be Great!

Patrick K.

Yelp
Awesome ambiance with exceptional service. Delivery of food orders are very fast and the server was very responsive with requests. Food was tasty and prepared exactly as requested. The shrimp/prawns are humongous! Christian Brown, our waiter, made our visit highly memorable.

Yelp
Had the 20oz tomahawk with fries, charred broccolini, foie gras and scampi. Tender tomahawk which was perfect for 4 and the accompaniments were perfect complements to the steak. Lovely atmosphere with top notch service.

Yelp
I came for a drink at the bar and got seated right away. Almost 10 minutes later, a gentlemen gets seated two seats from me and manages to get a greeting and his drink served before any of the bartenders even greeted me. They did also help the obnoxiously drunk lady by me too. There were only 3 of us at the bar with 2 bartenders and we made eye contact several times, yet no hello or acknowledgement whatsoever. Terrible customer service. I didn't feel like giving them any of my money. I left.

Yelp
This hotel bar is not to be missed. A little stroll across the lobby of the Autograph Douglas on floor six, and an outside 100m stroll pass the Canuck's stadium, and you're here! It's sooo gorg, you immediately feel prettier. I highly recommend the happy hour at the bar. The Pilsner on tap is a Granville Island. Dee-licious! But the show stopper in this pretty place is the cooked sushi salmon on the happy hour menu. The cold sushi is not to be missed either. They are served with tasty Japanese bread, just because. And oh yes, because! Why are you still reading this? Get yourself to the Victor now. Tip your friendly bartenders and enjoy your evening. You can thank yourself tomorrow for taking this advice. See website for menu, hours and more.

Yelp
I loved everything about this place. The food, service, ambiance and decor. I'd come back to celebrate special occasions again. Initially, I went because my friend and I were celebrating my birthday. We started off with drinks, had some oysters, sushi, and then some petite filet mignon and chared broccolini. The server was also very sweet in that he surprised me with a coconut cream cake with sparklers. Made my night extra special. I will definitely recommend this place as a goto for celebrating special moments.

Yelp
We were staying at the JW Marriot and decided to give the Victor a try for New Years! We asked the hotel for a reservation, which definitely was handy since the place was packed! Although this place is quite upscale, since it is part of the hotel, there were people dressed all sorts of ways, so don't worry if you aren't dressed to the nines! That being said, the decor and the PRICES definitely upscale so be prepared for that bill. What we ordered: Salmon Ceviche $17 - quite small for what you pay, comes with a few taro chips and a little bowl of salmon. delicious though! Steak Tartare $22 - tender and well seasoned steak with large pieces of toasty bread! Duo of Quebec Foie Gras $27 - the unique little raspberry sauces and other sauces on the plate definitely made this dish! A must try Oyster Mushroom and Asparagus Risotto $32 - THE BEST dish we ordered! The shaved truffle with the charred vegetables and truffle flavor throughout was amazing! 11/10 Overall, a great experience here from start to finish, just beware of the bill :)
google avatar

Yelp
Best fine dining in Vancouver! Food and drinks were exceptional. We were a large group and ordered apples and mains - all excellent. Ambience was amazing. Other patrons were dressed up to the nines which was entertaining for our group. Outstanding service, can't wait to return for a special occasion!

Yelp
We were here on a Saturday night. There was a UFC fight and hockey games, so it was kinda loud. We had reservations but no tables available so we sat at the bar. The food was good. Beet salad, End cap and onion rings. The service at the bar was great. Full menu and very attentive. I would not go to celebrate a quiet dinner. There were a few bachelorette groups and "business" dinners going on. Maybe it would be quieter on a weekday.

Yelp
I really liked the ambience of this place. It felt very elegant. We came for the dine out menu. Overall food was good but service was a bit lacking as they seemed short staffed. The complementary onion bread was good but not warm. For my dine out - I got the salmon aburi and the steak Diane. The aburi was tasty but not as good as other places that are known for their aburi. It was lacking in some flavour. The steak was tender and well cooked - although the sauce was a bit too salty. For dessert it was an orange cheesecake which was decent but nothing special. Overall it was a pleasant experience and I think I'd come back to grab drinks with friends for the ambience
google avatar

Kelven W.

Yelp
Happy Hour before dinner? Let's GO! Everything looked so good and we limited ourselves to the chef's selection of fresh oyster and their gringo salmon aburi. An amazing start to the meal and I enjoyed their hana (Bombay , St Germain, yuzu and egg white). Next up is dinner and we had their supper club special (Mon-Thurs until 630). For appies, we had their aburi and upgraded to their Quebec foie gras. Definitely worth the upgrade as it was so rich and decadent (although I wished I saved some of their cheese and onion ). Our mains were next and I loved their steak frites. An 8 oz cut of their rib eye "delmonico" which was seared to a perfect medium rare with and super tasty fries. We also had their salmon steak which paired amazingly to their peas and cauliflower purée. Stuffed but there's always room for dessert! Their creme brûlée doughnuts were filled with vanilla custard and because of our anniversary, they went all out. The maple cotton candy with 24k gold, mini macarons and rich chocolate capped off an epic meal. Thank you @thevictorvancouver!

Yelp
Wonderful Mother's Day brunch! This was back in 2019... The service was wonderful! The location and ambiance is beautiful. Food was delicious! They had a candy/dessert table that we definitely indulged in; super cute! A Caesar stand where we could choose what we want. I have yet to come back to try other things on the menu!

2nd time dining at The Victor for dinner. This is absolutely great for a special occasion. The patio area is massive around the outdoor water feature and super classy. I would recommend dressing up. I was so glad I wore a dress and heels and not my usual Vans and jeans. This is a place for a sexy date for sure but we also fit in having a family dinner with my step son. Service is very professional and courteous. Huge wine list. We enjoyed a Washington State Walla Walla Merlot. I started with Maracuya Sour. So so good. If you love passionfruit you won't be disappointed here. Our family loves East Coast oysters so we shared these to start they were exceptional. Following that was the Caesar and beef steak tomato salad. The tomatoes in the salad were so ripe and sweet and mmm thick cut bacon baby... We then shared between three of us the rib cap steak and 6 ounces of the A5 Wagyu striploin. What a delicacy. This is what I would order once a year on my birthday if I could. So tender and meaty. For sides we had the grilled asparagus, charred broccolini, mashed potatoes, peppercorn sauce and of course the mac & cheese waffles must not be missed. It was an epic meal to say the least. The house gifted us Menke's coconut cake We were too full to each much of it but it was lovely to say the least.

Yelp
Can't believe the ratings aren't higher! We stayed in the JW Marriott Parq and we dined at the Victor three times. Once for drinks, the second for drinks and small bites and the third for a full dinner. We were impressed by the hostesses, the bartenders as well as the servers! Everyone was very nice and attentive. Service is a 10/10! The food and drinks were also very delicious. The mulled wine was a favorite along with The Fig Is Up cocktail. For starters we had the foie gras, ahi tuna, big bacon, wagyu croquettes and the tartare. Tartare was incredible! For mains we had the filet and the risotto. The mac and cheese waffles are a must order! Brussel sprouts were also great. Everything we tried was very well prepared. Thank you for several amazing nights!

Yelp
Dine out Vancouver 2023! Tried the dine out menu for $65/per person Appy: My sister had the Murgella Burrata and I ordered salmon aburi. The burrata dish was ok.. the 4 pieces of bread that came with it were unfortunately all burnt. We just had the burrata and tapenade with it. It came with a side of smaller peppers as well. I probably would not order this again. Salmon aburi was tasty, very similar to Minami's salmon aburi in my opinion. Main: we both ordered the 8oz steak Diane. It was cooked well however definitely under seasoned. It came with 3 pieces of sliced potatoes and a few grilled carrots. Dessert: orange cheesecake. Tasted good, was interesting. Not sure if I would be ordering again.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying that I am not a fan of their steak. But in saying that, I did enjoy the Wagyu steak but other steaks in my opinion, just okay. There are other steak houses that have better steak. But their other food is amazing. Fish and chicken are really delicious. Their risotto is the BEST I've had so far out of all the other places. If you have a chance to try it, I highly recommend it. I love the ambience of this restaurant. It's a great place to go for date night, work dinner or just a get together with your friends. Service is superb. The servers are attentive and can recommend a good dish or wine if you need help with either of these. I definitely recommend Victor for your future dining!!

Yelp
The Victor is an upscale steakhouse located on the 6th floor of the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver. I was surprised how packed the restaurant was on a Monday night during the pandemic, but there was plenty of space between tables and I felt safe dining here. We were seated at the back of the restaurant on a comfortable velvet couch and we had a nice view of the downtown skyline from our table. We came here for Dine Out. It was $49 per person + $50 to upgrade to a 28oz porterhouse steak + we added a $60 bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon from California. My partner and I shared our 3-course meal: Victor's cheese & onion bread (complimentary) avocado aburi lobster & crab bisque 28oz USDA prime porterhouse steak creme brûlée donuts with cotton candy Valhrona dark chocolate tart We normally don't care for complimentary bread, but we demolished this one. We enjoyed the appies, but my sushi kept falling apart. I'm glad we upgraded to the porterhouse. We asked for medium rare, but more on the rare side and it was perfectly cooked and came with fries, salad and gravy. I would come back just for the creme brûlée donuts. They had vanilla custard inside and came with cotton candy sprinkled with edible gold. It was pricey for Dine Out, but everything from the ambiance, food and service was great. Surendra was an excellent server and was very attentive throughout dinner. Would definitely recommend The Victor for date night, it's such a romantic spot.

Yelp
My sister booked this restaurant for my mom's 83rd birthday after being recommended from a friend. The restaurant itself was very nice, especially the outside deck beside the man made pond. The tables inside seemed to be a bit small especially when they were filled with dishes and wine glasses etc. We decided on the Spoils of Sunday family style Prime Rib for 4. The meal started with a cheese and onion bread that was very good. We were going to need for of that! Next was Caesar salad that was okay. Nothing special, I had better. Then came a lobster bisque, this was tasty and went well with the cheesy onion bread. Now for the main course, we ordered our Prime Rib medium. Unfortunately, we received what looked like 4 end pieces. The 4 pieces of meat were browned on 1 side and was medium rare to medium on the order side. This made our pieces of meat soft on one side and rough and tough on the other. We were quite disappointed. We did not make a fuss about because our service was actually very good and it was mom's birthday. All I can say is we have had better elsewhere and I'm not sure if we will go back.

Yelp
We are here before the Elton John concert. The staff were so kind and wanted to make sure we got to our event on time. The food was delicious and my husband splurged on the saggy steak. So worth the wait! Super pricy, it's only for special occasions for sure. Great decor and ambiance and even the bathrooms felt fancy.

Yelp
We are waiting for our food for 1 hour and 20 minutes! Still not here. Will be updated! I gave 4 star to be fair. We came without reservation for new year. Very busy, quality of food was fine but it was too late. The staff were very polite.

Yelp
Throw back - First dine out we did this year is at the Victor. $65 menu per person. Firstly, Service sucks. Came to greet us and gave water then disappeared for a long time. Took us a while just to get someone to take our order. Forgot our ice tea we ordered and also neglected our water glasses. Entrees took forever to come out. * House onion and cheese bread ~ amazing super soft, ultra flavourful and packed with onion flavour. Super well made. Crispy cheesy parts are phenomenal with the onions. Paired well with the butter. 8/10. * Murgella Burrata ~ creamy and delicious. The olives were nice and seasoned. Added a good flavour. Portion was a bit small tho. 6/10. * Gringo Salmon aburi ~ the rice was cold I wish it was warm. Felt like it was sitting there for a while. The torched top wasn't even warm either. The jalapeño added good kick and the salmon and aburi top was delicious and good flavours. 6/10. * Lobster and crab bisque ~ super rich and flavourful. Creamy and loads of lobster and crab meat. 8.5/10 * Atlantic Salmon steak ~ the stuffed dungeons crab meat is well seasoned and delicious. The salmon itself was a bit bland. The beets and potatoes paired well with the tzatziki sauce. 8/10. * Steak Diane ~ super delicious peppercorn sauce. Super well seasoned and tender. Cooked perfectly medium rare. 10/10. * Tony's Baked orange cheesecake ~ this actually was delicious. I'm not too fond of orange and marmalade desserts but this was perfect sweetness and ratio. It was thick, creamy and it honestly paired so well together. That orange and marmalade cut right through the richness of the cheesecake. 9/10. * Overall despite the service and the long wait for our food. The menu was a good menu. Well worth it. Definitely recommend the lobster bisque and the salmon steak!

Yelp
A beautiful restaurant to wine and dine with friends, family, or colleagues. On the upper floors of Parq, you'll find The Victor offering a classic steakhouse experience. Offering a large selection of steaks and freah-caught seafood, you'll find they have a creative spread of surf n turf. To start, we had the Duo of Quebec Foie Gras which was presented beautifully and came with both a seared Foie Gras and mousse. Admittedly, I could have eaten multiple portions of this. For our main, we went with the showstopper, a 50oz tomahawk steak and paired it with crispy brussel sprouts and charbroiled shishito peppers. The tomahawk steak was prepared very well using their 1200 degree broiler oven. However, for the price paid, I would expect them to select a better quality cut. I found a few areas of unappealing connective tissue which made it difficult to chew. The sides of brussel sprouts and shishito peppers were very enjoyable. The sprouts were delightfully crispy with an added sweetness that I'm going to have to try and recreate at home for the holidays. The shishito peppers gave a fantastic kick to the steak. Service was spectacular and everyone we interacted with added to the pleasant experience. Presentation of the food was great and timely. I think The Victor is worth a go. I'd check it out again on another special occasion.

Yelp
Holy Perfection! After 34 years on this earth, I've experienced what I can say is the BEST restaurant ever yet to visit anywhere in my world travels. (Yes, I know, trying restaurants in 15 countries worldwide isn't enough for a thorough review haha but this place is my current number one!) The hotel staff told me about this restaurant and I kept it in mind during my visit, so on my last night, I decided I'd check it out for dinner. Wow. The entire ambiance is so classy and elegant. Even the walkway to the restaurant is serene. I didn't have a reservation but was able to get seated at a table comfortably. The server was ultra friendly and helpful with his suggestions for drinks and dinner. I got the "Don't Call Me Shirley" nonalcoholic cocktail, which was a perfectly balanced sour and sweet fruity drink, and a bottle or sparkling water. I debated between getting something off the regular menu or the sushi menu and decided on sushi. The cheesy brioche bread they provided was incredible. I ate a good majority of it before and after my meal haha. I loved how the top of it was like a crisped cheese touch. For the meal I ordered the salmon ceviche, salmon nigiri, and both the shrimp and salmon aburi sushi. Sounds like a lot but I was pretty hungry and I dug IN! I started with the ceviche which was such a perfect beginning. The vegetable crisps complement the ceviche so well and the salmon is so fresh. I can't pinpoint which aburi was better because they were both so well made. Flamed just right with a very subtle smoked flavor you can't get enough of. I had absolutely no regrets and felt like everything was well worth its price. I ordered the orange cheesecake for dessert to go and it too did not disappoint. I loved the marmalade and bitter orange flavors in conjunction with the chocolate. I honestly would book a trip back to Vancouver just for this place!

Yelp
Our first visit to the Victor and I cannot say enough great things about this restaurant! My husband and I went on Sunday night so we could try the Prime Rib dinner and it was an awesome experience. The staff were all great; attentive and super friendly. The shrimp cocktail we each had was crazy good - the shrimp was almost the size of my face! I could have made a meal out of just that! The prime rib, yorkshire (you get 2!), mashed potatoes and even the brussel sprouts were all delicious. Dessert was big ball of cotton candy with creme brulee donuts inside - devine! We were both celebrating milestone birthdays and with all the great restaurant options in the city, we feel we picked a pretty great one. We have already told friends and family and are making plans to go back soon. Thanks so all the staff - chefs, servers and managers - you made it a great evening!

Yelp
Came here for dinner with my friend after attending a Whitecaps game. It was a quiet Wednesday night but this restaurant the best atmosphere out there and an amazing guided route to its location through the Parq hotel. The food was awesome is well but the service wasn't that appreciated. The chef needs to ease up the salt shaker because he's more generous with the salt than the wagyu beef portion. The hostess sat us somewhere nice and the atmosphere and vibe is awesome!! Ordered a spicy tuna roll and the Wagyu burger and my friend got the surf and turf.. Atmosphere 10/5 Wagyu burger 3/5 Spicy tuna roll 5/5 Surf and turf 4/5 Service 2/5

Yelp
Stayed at the Douglas next door and decided to try this place due to proximity and timing. My first dining experience was pleasant and enjoyable. Alone on Night 1 visit, walked in 50 min before close and was able to immediately be seated at the bar. Bar attendant was a most excellent host. His mixology skills were on point. The lobster and crab bisque was so filling and perfect complement to the wintry night's weather. Night 2: we had reservations at some super cool swanky sushi spot my hubs and his team frequents when here in Vancouver. But after getting all dressed up, we decide that waking over to Victor for a steak sounded like a better plan. It was another cold, rainy night so waking next door was convenient and we both had great experiences here before. The drinks, chopped salad, broccolini, sushi and bread were good per usual and as expected. The ribeye was ordered Medium and came out medium well. The only portion of the steak cooked to medium temp was the center. We had to make 4 cuts before we began to see medium temp slices of meat. They took the steak back to the kitchen and returned telling me that the ends of a steak are gonna be more cooked and expected. Well that was more than 60% of the steak medium well. Who wants that? Not me. She did offer to have a steak cooked medium rare so that our steak would return more perfectly medium. Well, that's not too steakhouse protocol from my experiences with fine dining steakhouses. That's another way of invalidating my preference and insulting my intellect when it comes to steak, temps and customer service expectations. Will def visit again but won't be ordering steak.

Yelp
Came for a birthday party and we got the $85 set menu. Started with the croquettes and the shrimp (shared for the table) which were decent. Nothing amazing but decent portion for a group setting. The next course was the personal appy (choice of lobster bisque, Caesar salad, or steak tartare). For me this was the star. The tartare was a huge portion and I basically filled off of this. I would come back just for the tartare. I upgraded my steak to a better cut for $12 more and it was okay. Not worth it in my opinion. The steak that comes with the set menu looked better. I ordered the donuts for dessert and it was alright. The pb bar was way better. Basically all of my issues were my own fault from my choices. Will probably come back for a date night with the wife.

Yelp
What an incredible experience! Absolutely loved loved loved our meal! One of the absolute best sushi's and tartares I've had! Beef and tuna were both incredible! The waffle stuffed Mac and cheese was unique and great! The truffle fries was fabulous The steak was not cooked to perfection but that may have been because they were understaffed so service was extremely slow. For what you pay, I expect better service. Which is why I knocked off a star! The ambiance and views are breathtaking! Overall I had a fantastic experience!

Yelp
This is my first time trying this restaurant. Overall I had an enjoyable experience. First of all the atmosphere was great, the decor was very trendy, they have live music, the restaurant looks out to a fountain and it's also parched up on the second floor of the casino in the middle of downtown. The downside is that it can get loud at times and also parking is $25 for the night after 5 PM. The food was excellent. We ordered the dual foie gras, the foie gras was fried perfectly, crispy on the outside and still soft on the inside. We also got the crabcake which I think was a great value. It was more like a crab mound and the sauce that came with it complemented it really well. We also had a good selection of oysters. I also have to mention that their bread was well done. In fact we asked for a second helping in between our appetizers and mains. For mains we got the braised short ribs as well as the ribeye cap. The short rib was super tender but got a little bit dry on the outside. The ribeye was done to medium rare and the potatoes that accompanied it were super crispy on the outside. For our sides we ordered the macaroni waffles and the onion ring tower, these were both of their signature sides. The macaroni waffles were really worth a try, they were crunchy on the outside with some of the crispy cheese, the inside was soft and a bit gooey. The onion rings on the other hand were just okay. It was a breaded coating on the outside which stuck to the onions throughout, however I thought it was a bit dry. The mustard sauce that came with it though actually went better with the macaroni waffles then the sauce that came with the waffles. While all the food was done really well, service that night was rather slow. It took half an hour until our server took our order, and in between our appetizers and mains was another 45 minute wait. The entire dinner took us three hours on a Tuesday evening. Our server though was friendly and personable. We had a good evening nonetheless, but well definitely make sure to check on our mains sooner next time.
