BLUF: Set your expectations for a 2 star hotel with no amenities and a very late breakfast, instead of what you may expect from a BnB, and you won't be as disappointed as we were. ||||TBH, I am pretty dissatisfied with our stay here. We stayed for one night, on a lark to get a night away from our toddler while Grandma was in town, after driving by the building and seeing how nicely it presented from the front.||||Overall, however, it lacked any of the homey or comforting touches that you'd expect from a BnB, we had cleanliness issues in our room, there were no amenities at all, and breakfast was so late we had to skip it. It was more akin to staying in a Red Roof or similar 2 star style hotel. ||||The home presents very well from the front, and inside it is very open. The first floor was fine, but not situated for lounging much. Our exterior doorknob was loose, and felt like it could easily have been removed (although, to be fair, there was a deadbolt in good condition), and the grounds are only average WRT grounds keeping. The front door autolocks, and it appears guests do not have access through it. ||||The room itself was very similar to a hotel room, and lacked any touches. Describing it as a standard and somewhat sparse hotel room really is accurate (the furniture was very bare and felt very industrial).||||From a cleanliness perspective we were very disappointed (this was probably our biggest problem with our stay). My wife refused to shower, because the bath mat either wasn't washed after the last guests left, or badly needed replacing (it had what appeared to be wetness on it, or wet grime). The wall behind the pedestal sink was dirty as well. The quilt on our bed was stained in multiple places. ||||Finally, the bed was hard. Really, really, hard... and our light fixture had paint peeling off onto the desk). ||||There were no amenities to speak of. For example: There's a Keurig machine in the room, complete with coffee cups, sugar, etc... but they don't provide K Cups (and no coffee at all until at least 8:30, see below) Additionally, there was no coffee, tea, or much of a real sitting area available anywhere throughout the house. The only toiletries you'll get are soap and hand lotion, no shampoo or conditioner. ||||I overall just had a feeling/impression of everything being bare bones or sparse. It just wasn't a comfortable place to unwind or sleep. ||||Regarding food, breakfast is scheduled for 9, but still hadn't been served when we had to leave at 9:35. Coffee isn't offered until 8:30, and on this morning wasn't put out until 9:15 (again, no coffee provided in the room unless you bring your own). There were no pre breakfast pastries, muffins, etc... I have never experienced anything like this at any other BnB. Be prepared for this, or just accept that breakfast is not really on your terms, again more like a hotel. We literally ate and drank nothing, because breakfast was scheduled so late, was even later to boot, and nothing else was offered. ||||Overall, I know the review sounds very critical, and it is, if you are expecting a BnB (again, all my criticisms are relative to what I'd expect from a BnB)... But if you come into your stay thinking you're staying at a hotel instead, where breakfast may be provided, albeit later than I think most people eat, then your expectations will be different, and the stay will be just fine. ||||That said, though, I cannot really recommend staying here unless some more attention is put into details, cleanliness, and timing, especially at BnB prices.
