My husband and I were on an adventure Christmas vacation. We stumbled upon this gem. Clean, adorable, comfortable rooms. The staff was friendly and welcoming. They gave good advice on places to visit nearby. The view was a great touch to this place.

Google
The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The grounds are amazing. Decorated for Halloween, really in the spirit. The staff is great. Prices are very reasonable compared to surrounding area. There is an area with swing set, and table under a tree where you can enjoy a picnic. We will for sure be staying here again.

This is a modest hotel sitting up over Cottonwood. Our room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the views very nice. The swimming pool and hot tub were well presented. The front desk person was quire friendly and cheerful. The quiet atmosphere allowed for a restful night's sleep. We'll be back!

There is nothing wrong with the motel. It could use updates for sure. Shower head has an odd placement. There are no USB chargers. The location is good. It’s a little over a mile from old town. The heat is on the AC this is a bit odd. But works fine.

We arrived to our new house in Cottonwood and had nowhere to sleep. We have 4 dogs and the staff were very understanding of our situation and made an exception to their pet rules. We really appreciated getting a comfortable night sleep. Thank you so much.

My favorite place to stay while in this area! Not the fanciest place in town, but still my favorite!! Decent rooms, friendly staff, a cool clean pool and the best veiw in town!

Google
This was the cutest motel. Great pool, very clean rooms, wonderful people, beautiful views and affordable! It's older but clean. If I had one complaint, the ac is tucked away so the cold air doesn't really blow into the sleeping area but we just went to Walmart and bought a fan to help circulate the air. It worked great. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I came across this hotel accidentally looking for a dog friendly hotel. It was amazing! The room was very clean, pretty and comfortable. The grounds were very well maintained and beautiful. The view was exceptional! We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
A group of 8 of us were coming up to go to the Blazing Saddle Ranch. We rented 4 rooms in total. All of us booked through a different place and the price ranged from $160-$180. When I first drove up, I thought Bates motel. lol Checked into the office and the staff there was super nice and engaging. The front office lady appeared to be training a new gentleman and were happy to BS with us while we were all waiting to check in. We got rooms 101, 102, 113, & 114. I loved being in room 101 because there was a patio right next to our room and it was able to accomodate all 8 of us and then more to hang out and drink the wine we just got from a local winery before heading out to dinner. Our room was clean, cozy and for the most part comfortable. It is an old hotel but you can tell they work very hard to keep it clean and up to date. It is a motel but I would stay there again if in the area. They have a pool and it is HEATED!

Yelp
Me & my family recently went to Cottonwood AZ and stayed at this cute little motel Its called the view and you'll see why when you arrive as it sits on top of a hill and overlooks the Verde Valley and the Red Rocks of Sedona. Is it the nicest place I have stayed? No, but it was such a charming little motel, they even had a best of the best award for the area. Its giving small town appeal like the Rosebud motel from Schitt's Creek but with a little bit of a modern update, I loved it. Sedona is just a short drive away. We had a nice view from our room, they have a little play area with swings and a ping pong table and they are pet friendly and have a little area designated for the pets with a nice walking path. Definitely keep this quaint little motel in mind if you visit the area and are okay with staying in an older type of motel.

Yelp
My friend and I traveled here from California. We had a room at another place, but they closed early and we couldn't get the room. Another local hotel recommended The View Motel. We pulled in before midnight and we're nicely accommodated by the staff. The night clerk's name is Marissa and the day manager is Jennifer. They were both very sweet and helpful. The room was nice and clean. Nice hot showers, a small fridge and microwave. I would not hesitate to stay here again, priced reasonably, and the view is spectacular.

Maddie M.

Yelp
So disappointing, spent nearly $500 for two nights here. The fridge is broken, no matter the setting it froze our drinks and one exploded. Had to unplug. The pool was locked due to lightning 3 hours prior, asked it be opened. Manager wasn't very happy about having to go outside and mumbled to herself as she unlocked it, and the hottub evening we had been hoping for was ruined by 6 teenage boys who live at the motel running out of the office immediately after us. "Guests only" yeah right. The whole time we had to listen to them and their racist, sexist, fat-shaming remarks. They even had the audacity to cat call me as I stepped out. Splitting a beer between them even though one of the idiots literally dropped it in the hot tub! And one of them was wearing socks in the water! We paid good money to stay here, and that clearly meant nothing to them. Will not be back, this is no better than the much cheaper super 8's down the street.

Yelp
Great place to stay at when going to Camp Verde. The price was a little high but that seems to be the norm around this area since there's not many options for hotels/motels and most were almost fully booked when we were searching for a room at 9pm at night on a Friday. Take a tip please do your hotel searching earlier in the day. The room was pet friendly, really clean and cozy. The office has free hot chocolate with marshmallows, tea and coffee from 6am to 10am. There is no free breakfast or any breakfast. There's a Safeway, taco bell, black bear diner, Dunkin donuts, Mexican restaurants, star bucks, home depot, KFC and gas stations. The motel has a snack machine but it only takes cash. They had a nice looking pool but it was closed in December. There's a nice little swing on the side of the motel rooms for kids to play on. The workers were all really pleasant and we had an overall great experience here. We would stay here again.

Mark B.

Yelp
Great Motel, Great View, Great Town. My Family and Dog throughly enjoyed our stay here and its well off the street so minimal traffic noise and the View name is certainly appropriate. Would definitely return and Highly recommend especially if you have a pet. All the other motels are right on the very busy 89A which is very noisy early in the morning.

Randi C.

Yelp
I went to this motel tired and late not knowing what to expect. It turned out to be one of the cleanest rooms I've ever stayed in. It was very comfortable, desk lady was friendly, had pool and a beautiful view.

Dan C.

Yelp
Very cool clean and friendly place. Enjoyed the throw back 1970's vibe. Welcoming of our beagles.

Ward B.

Yelp
Requested a late check out and was denied. Came to Cottonwood for a late night band engagement that ended at 1AM. Returned to the room around 2-2:30AM. By 7:30AM the maintenance guy was banging his hammer in the room next door. Funny thing is we spoke to them at checkin about the late checkout and they knowingly placed us in a section where work was going to be performed early. Not very considerate! Nice location and fairly decent rooms, but I won't stay there again.

Yelp
I really want to give this place one star... But it does have a pretty awesome view. If it were summer time, it would be perfect for you and your loved one to stay here and use their pool and jacuzzi. Good view that oversees part of the town. It is also cheap, even cheaper with AAA membership. One room with two beds with AAA at the end if November is about $67/night. The rooms are old. The TV is just tiny and ancient. Towels are super thin and have light stains. I unfolded the shower rug and a spider came out running. The heater/AC makes a weird woo-woooo sound constantly. Free wifi, but awesomely unstable. So are the lights.. They flicker. Some of the wall plugs are also very loose. I really would not recommend this place. But it does have coffee, hot chocolate and tea in the morning for breakfast. And the rooms have a tiny fridge and microwave ( helps when hunger strikes and you got leftovers)

Cindy B.

Yelp
I wish there were negative marks. My poor diabetes service dog got skunked and the owner saw us and looked up her nose and said you need to keep that thing on a lead. I told her you need to keep your skunk on a lead. I said we are looking for a cleaner place. She said you can't get out of here fast enough.

Dan B.

Yelp
This place is approximately named. The view from our room is great. It is nice waking up to the view of the red rocks. The place is on the old side, but it is clean and the bed was comfortable. We slept well. The room had a refrigerator and a microwave. There is no breakfast included and no coffee in the room. Coffee is in the office though. The staff was very nice and helpful. It is probable that we will stay here again.

Yelp
My boyfriend, my parents, and I took a trip to Jerome, AZ and stayed in Cottonwood. Preferrably because every hotel in Jerome is said to be haunted. Well this one may have very well been haunted as well. I heard a lot of creaks and moans in the middle of the night. I'm sure my boyfriend watching paranormal something or other on TV all night didn't help. This is a very inexpensive little hotel. It's nothing fancy, but it was cozy. It is up on a little mountain with a view. It had a fridge and cable TV so that's a plus. Also had Wi-Fi. It wasn't the greatest place I stayed but because of the memories that we created here, I loved it.

Amin E.

Yelp
My friends and I booked one night at the View Motel as a stopover between the Grand Canyon and Jerome. It was an affordably priced motel with decent reviews so we thought we'd give it a shot. As the name suggests, the View Motel is perched up a steep hill that provides a sweeping view of the surrounding Verde Valley. The reception staff was very friendly and the cleanliness of the room was met with satisfaction from our party. However if you are used to staying at a typical chain motel, you will have to adjust your roominess expectations. This classic mid-century motel comes with the typical small 1950's room dimensions. With two beds and four people moving about in the room, you do feel a tad bit cramped. And as much as I dig retro buildings in general, some of the "vintage" charm of some of the room fixtures was quite annoying: the chain door lock came out from the wall; the shower faucet handle was loose and the toilet water pressure/plumbing was very weak. Not recommend for those planning spending a lot of time in your motel room but it is a decent place to just spend the night after a busy day of being outside: it's clean and affordable with no frills.

Jennifer G.

Yelp
Quaint, quiet, and retro charm. This motel was built by Fred Ball(brother of Lucille Ball). The motel is older however they have maintained, and kept clean, the cozy rooms. The grounds are well kept. The pool and hot tub are kept heated. There is a large grassy area for kids to run around and they are currently looking for playground equipment to expand the kids play. They have large decks at the ends of the buildings for a comfortable night/ day of looking at the views. In addition, there are multiple BBQ grills available for the guests use. You can hang out on a deck and BBQ some dinner with friends. There are certain rooms with a connecting door between so you can go between rooms without going outside- if you want the joined rooms it needs to be requested at the time of reservation. There is plenty of parking available, even for pickups towing a trailer or moving trucks. They also have a small area for dog bathroom breaks(no cats allowed). The front office has coffee, tea, and hot chocolate for free. They also have juice, muffins and danish rolls for minimum price. This motel does include shampoo, conditioner, face soap, makeup remover wipes and face lotion- more than other hotels. I love the charm of this place. At night, when all the landscaping lights are on it reminds me of the grounds from the movie Dirty Dancing. This is definitely a place to stay if you don't want the same ole generic and plain stay you get with most major chains. This place is unique and proud to maintain quality.

Cheryl B.

Yelp
It's not a 4 or 5 star place by any means but it was clean and comfortable. The staff were nice and it came with the little shampoos and soaps like usual. Even had a make-up remover packet which I thought was a really nice touch. Included a mini fridge, microwave, and free wifi. The water pressure in the shower was great and with both of us taking showers we didn't run out of hot water. We would recommend this place and even stay here again when in town.

Yelp
My family and I last minute booked one night at The View. Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience. The rooms were clean, but It was very cold in the evening and he heater was too small to warm us up even when we set it on max. Our neighbor, Ken, switched rooms twice because the heater went down. Our toilet got clogged when I went to notify staff I learned that three other rooms were having the same issue. The staff called a handyman and gave me a key to a smoker room so that we could use the restroom. The toilet was not fixed the entire night. Late at night my wife and I had to go out in the cold just to use the restroom. Overall, we had a miserable experience.

Yelp
We really enjoy this hotel. Places to sit out at night when it's cool outside. Free morning coffee in the patios. Rooms are ok, clean. Reasonably priced. Close to Jerome, old town cottonwood. Grounds are welpatio. Free strong Wi-Fi. We'll be back!

Merry M.

Yelp
First, the positive: The motel was clean and cheap. It was cheaper than most places in the Sedona area which was a plus. The negative: My boyfriend and I stayed here in January in freezing temperatures. We were provided with only a cheap space heater for our freezing room and it took hours to even get up to 50 degrees! Needless to say, we weren't very comfortable. Maybe it was a price to pay for a cheap room around the area, but we may have been better off camping! In addition the employees were as cold as the room. haha. Think twice about the price of staying here!

Angela S.

Yelp
We Love staying at the view. We live in Texas and go to Cottonwood to visit family and see what is new and like sightseeing

Yelp
We really loved this tucked away gem! Up on the hill over town, with a great view of the surrounding countryside. The pool is a wonderful place to hang out in the afternoon - I'm writing my review from there now using my laptop and their FREE wifi connection! There's also a jacuzzi, a little kids playground, a propane BBQ & picnic area to use, and each room has a microwave & little fridge. The price is a bargain compared to everything else we looked at. These older 50's hotels from the great American hey-day of road-trips can be very hit or miss - but this one is definitely a hit! Yes, the rooms are small and older. There's no granite countered sinks - so if that's your idea of a great stay, then move along. We liked this place so much we canceled our next night's reservations in favor of staying here an extra night! And, BONUS - this place is owned by the widow of Lucille Ball's brother, Fred! Apparently she's 91 and still sharp as a tack. Kind of brings a smile to your heart, doesn't it?

Lisa A.

Yelp
Our family of four recently took a roadtrip across the southwest. We stayed at this motel to be near Sedona without paying Sedona's high cost of accommodation. We loved this place! Cottonwood is a fairly non-descript town, but you go up the driveway to this place and it's like you are tucked away in a mini-mountain retreat. The pool was great and has a lovely view. The rooms were bright and cheery, with a refrigerator and microwave that came in handy. Out of all the motels we stayed in, this was our favorite, and we stayed in a LOT of motels! Don't expect hi-tech however - when I made our reservation, the guy almost laughed at me when I asked for an email confirmation. You reservation number is your name!

Christina K.

Yelp
Walls are thin and they don't provide shampoo or conditioner! Bed was hard too. Guy at front desk was a smart alic!

Seth L.

Yelp
For the price, and considering the age of the place, it's totally fine. Not the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, but serviceable. It is typical of pretty much every other motel of its vintage and price range that I've been in. Go there with modest expectations of a small, clean motel room, and you'll be satisfied. It does have a great view, and I imagine the pool and hot tub are nice to have available during warmer months. Quaint and charming; they still use a paper card registry and old fashioned carbonless credit card processing, and they offer free wifi, and coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the mornings. Nice people, and I'll stay there again!

Dan G.

Yelp
Horrible experience. Ended up calling the cops on the office staff and filed a formal complaint with the ADA. This motel refused to serve my girlfriend who requires a service animal. I've never experienced disrespect like I did at this motel. Total discrimination and unprofessional attitude. Not to mention cigarette butts and broken glass everywhere. This is the type of place to bring a stranger for an hour not to stay the weekend. Total dingy, dirty, nasty roadside motel. Avoid at all costs.

Renee R.

Yelp
This is a great place to stay if you just want a clean room at a great price and want the best views in town. I'm hesitant to write this review because it's such a well kept secret, but they deserve a good review. The place is older, but has been taken care of well.

Nony M.

Yelp
HORRIBLE!!! We will never stay here again and we will encourage our friends and family to stay ELSEWHERE! The room was filthy, smelled so bad we had to open the windows even though it was really cold, the staff was rude and the worst part was the beds that we were told were "Queen" were absolutely not! It was a full. It made for a long, horrible night of no sleep. Everything in the place speaks of cut corners and cheapskates. A hundred dollars wasted!

Nicole B.

Yelp
Great for an inexpensive motel! Rooms are tiny and very outdated, but the motel is in a quiet location, convenient to old town Cottonwood, has a great view, and is super clean. We were able to check in at any time, which was convenient after an afternoon of wine tasting and dinner in old town. Front desk staff were helpful and friendly enough. Perfect and affordable place when you just need a place to sleep and shower.

Teryn T.

Yelp
We had seen this hotel above the Super 8 where we stayed the last time we spent the night up in Cottonwood and were curious. We brought my fiance's parents up to the Verde Valley to show them an area of AZ we loved and stayed at the View for a very cheap price considering the expense at other hotels (like the Super 8, which was disgusting!). It is a well kept older building, had a nice looking small pool and spa, and we could tell they were in the process of remodeling the bathrooms at least in the rooms we had (new mirror, sink and toilet). The bed was a little hard and the walls were definitely thin, and we went to sleep and woke up to our neighbor to the back of us playing and singing some really good blues guitar (a nice alternative to other ways I have been woken up or tried to sleep through), but it was nothing that unpleasant. It was so nice to have chairs out in front of the room to sit in because we were able to go to the Arizona Stronghold wine tasting room in Old Town Cottonwood, buy two bottles of wine and some glasses, then pick up some snacks at the Safeway and have a fun night of sitting outside, drinking wine, playing Rummy thanks to a neighbor who gave us playing cards and having great conversation! The staff was nice and pleasant. I would say, for the $59 we payed to stay one night, it was an exceptional experience considering other hotels I've stayed at for that amount of money, and even some I've payed over $100 for! We definitely will be staying here again in the future!

Conni E.

Yelp
We stayed here for a wine tasting night in historic downtown Cottonwood because it was inexpensive. We knew when we booked the only king available was a smoking room, so they expressed that they hoped the room wasn't too smokey, it was, but i brought some nice smelling Lysol and sprayed it a few times throughout the stay and it was tolerable. The room was comfortable and quiet, but a little dated, there was a wet towel on the hook behind the door. The grounds were clean and tidy and there was coffee in the office for the morning. Our room was also adjacent to a nice, large deck overlooking the Verde Valley with a BBQ and ample seating.

Elizabeth F.

Yelp
Very comfortable, vintage, inexpensive motel with a view of the Mogollon Rim (I think that's what I was looking at). I had one of the really small rooms because I traveled alone, but it was very pleasant and cozy, not to mention quiet. It's almost too bad that I got to stay for only one night because I found it very relaxing and loved the view from atop that hill.

Josh N.

Yelp
don't get close to this place!! The rooms all smell like piss and none of the air conditioning works no matter what they tell you!! I had a terrible experience there!!
