The Village At Northstar

Unbelievably expensive and parking is horrendous. If you want to park anywhere nearby its $25 per day. And that lot is usually sold out so plan on walking, a lot. Beautiful area but there are lots of other places that are more convenient and not goofy expensive.

My family and I came up to visit this spot as a surprise getaway, and had so much fun! We watched the mountain bikers race all weekend, went up and down the gondola and ski lift, shopped, road our scooter up and down the village, watch the band play & roller skated in the skating rink, enjoyed all the dining, shops, and candy stores. We will defitely be back!! Love this place!

Surprisingly very unfriendly and unsupportive staff. I was making sure to reserve a correct category of the parking spot, and the lady was very rude and refused to help or refer to another staff member who could help. Very surprising experience.

This is a beautiful village, making Northstar the highest end skiing experience in the Lake Tahoe area. I like to call it the Deer Valley of Utah or Beaver Creek of Colorado. It's not quite as good as both of those places, but it is getting there. I will say the village is a little sleepy in the summer, as not many of the stores and restaurants are open. The wintertime is definitely more lively here.

The private lessons are well worth the money for families through advanced riders, and coaches Jon & Eric rock! They both have years of experience, can definitely help you skill up, and these fantastic coaches can turn a nice visit into an awesome day of adventures! . In winter, resort guests enjoy skiing and The Village's outdoor ice skating rink, so we were thrilled to discover a summertime activity that was fun and actually interesting to our difficult to please teenagers (you know what I'm talking about). With private lessons, riders of different skill levels can be accommodated, and thanks to Jon & Eric's great coaching, our teens learned enough to hit intermediate trails on Day 1! The other advantage of private lessons was that the kids had a coach to accompany them - since none of their adults could keep up! Parents will appreciate that they can feel good about bowing out for relaxation and libations back in The Village, confident that their kids are riding the trails with a responsible, biking-experienced adult. . With The VIllage bike/ski lifts, bike/ski shop, ice rink, and restaurants all located together next to resort lodging, you can quickly go back to change clothes and get to a yummy restaurant without getting back into the car, all very close to where your kids are biking/skiing/skating. . Timbercreek Studio, subpar for the cost. Hardly any silverware, a shower head too high and could not adjust lower. A toilet that is not mounted securely to un even tile. A fan in the bed area that doesn't work. To my surprise and thankfully my family and I were moved to a two bedroom in Gold Bend. Unfortunately, at 830 am in the morning, a contractor started banging below our porch on trim wood that was coming out. I told him to stop and come back after 12 pm. My son was sleeping. Last day, the clean-up crew tried to come in at 830 am. Thank God for the chain we had connected to keep anyone from walking in. In the summer, many of the restaurants and stores were closed. Prices were very high for food and drinks. I guess it's a resort and yes you pay more. Ribucon restraunt was good. Enjoyed the pasta and pizza dishes. The last time I was here in 2014, the cost to use the recreation center wasn't $10 a person or $25 for a gondola ride up the mountain. I loved the location, close to Truckee and Lake Tahoe. Although my family and I enjoyed our summer vacation, I don't believe I will be back.

I haven’t stayed in the hotel but I come here to snowboard, and I love it, very recommended

One of my favorite places in Lake Tahoe area. Plenty of activities, restaurants and shopping. Great vibes.
