The Village Bakery & Cafe

I read good reviews about the cakes so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the carrot cake & lime cheese cake. However I find them too sweet for my liking.

It wasn't very busy but it was a good stop for a delicious slice of carrot cake. The guy who served me was very nice and polite. I definitely recommend 👍

I got strange vibes from the staff at this establishment. Particularly the girl waitress who works in the morning/afternoon. I went there to buy coffee a few times when I was renting an apartment located only a few seconds walk away. It was conveniently close by, I'm a coffee addict and my apartment had no coffee machine or kettle! On my second visit the waitress seemed to be preoccupied talking with other staff members. I was the only customer but she rushed making the coffee and didn't bring me any sugar so I had to go back inside and request it. No big deal, I thought, these things happen so I didn't think too much of it. But on the third visit, when I was placing an order, another customer walked in and the waitress very rudely interrupted me in the middle of my order and switched her attention to the new customer. That was just plain disrespectful, weird and unnecessary. There's a cafe called Waffles and Coffee opposite where the staff are super friendly and welcoming so it might be worth trying that that one instead. To the owner: I'd strongly recommend you retrain staff to be more respectful towards customers as this type of rude behavior may ultimately drive customers away. Made me feel quite unwelcome so I decided not to return to your cafe due to the problematic staff.

I stopped at The Village just to have an iced coffee for $3.30. Needless to say, I paid for the ice and not the coffee; there was more ice than coffee. If you order any iced coffee, please inform the barista to go easy on the ice. The atmosphere of The Village was comfortable for a workplace. I found one member of the staff as unpleasant.

A very delicious coffee place. I took the vegan falafel pita (which I'm not sure was vegan. I think it contains dairy, so make sure if that is something that is important to you). It was very tasty, different from the original falafel (as it was baked), but it was still delicious. Then, I ordered the carrot cake. In terms of taste, it was delicious, but I think the carrot cake layers should be higher. So the cream cheese to cake portions will be better. The place is pricey, but this is Western food, so that makes sense. The service is super good. They are so lonely. Overall, highly recommend!

Looking for healthy brunch and cozy place? This is the right place When I visited, they play jazz music, make a perfect atmosphere in the middle of light rain.

I popped in for an iced coffee. Lovely friendly service. Ice latte coffee was delicious and came with a little mini chocolate cookie. I bought a full-size cookie to take away. Highly recommend as a quiet and cool sanctuary for coffee.
