The Village Canberra

I stayed here for 3 days, and the location is fantastic! However, the service felt very impersonal everything is digital, which can be dehumanizing. The staff barely acknowledge you, and you’re left to find all the answers in the app on your own. Cleanliness was a big issue. The kitchen and bathrooms were seriously unpleasant and need immediate attention. Additionally, the environment could benefit from more events or activities to help guests connect. If you’re looking to make new friends, this might not be the best place. That said, I loved the location and would genuinely recommend this place if the cleanliness and service improve. I’d also consider returning. Thank you!

Very impressive accommodation, clean bed linen, comfortable mattress, Hugh tidy kitchen, lots of leisure spaces, peaceful young villagers live in a harmonious community. I used to only live in hotels. Since I last visited Canberra and lived at the Village, my concept of accommodation has completely changed. Sincerely appreciated all of the staff for your wonderful efforts.

The location is great, just a 10-minute walk from the bus hub, and everything is very clean. This is the first hostel I’ve stayed at where the cleaner works at night to tidy up the common room. The room had plenty of space for everyone.I stayed here for 2 nights and booked an 8-bed female dorm. When I checked in at 1 pm, I was assigned to a 4-bed dorm on the 2nd floor. At first, I was the only one there, but a man arrived at 10 pm. I checked with reception, and they apologized for the mistake and moved me to a 4-bed female dorm on the 1st floor.I felt uncomfortable because I was getting ready to sleep and didn’t expect to share a room with a man, as I had booked a female dorm. Moving all my belongings after unpacking was also inconvenient.My second room was still a 4-bed female dorm, even though I had booked an 8-bed dorm.I’m not sure why this happened, but I wanted to share my experience to help the hostel avoid similar issues in the future.

Was not sure what to expect but was really pleasantly surprised. Comfy clean rooms decent communal areas and great staff. Had my best nights sleep here in weeks of travelling

I've been to hundreds of hostels, this is one of the worst in terms of service, the staff aren't attentive nor caring, seemingly tired expressions all around. I was told the hostel would be closed for refurbishment by my roommates, not the staff. For the overpriced room, they didn't even have a plug next to the beds, none of the facilities were open, and I couldn't even leave my bag for a few hours. The only good thing is the location.

The hostel is located right near the city center, near a whole bunch of shops & restaurants. Very convenient if you’d like to visit the Parliamentary Zone, Mount Ainslie or anything else! Staff is super nice and helpful, I had a very pleasant stay. Highly recommend!

I staid there on 4 occasions and found the desk supervisors either rude or very rude. Same problem with two receptionisrs. The only exception was Rodrigo and Jessica .They were very nice. In my first stay my silver was stolen from a suitcase I placed in storage behind the reception desk. Within days the door was forced open and the thieves stole my silver from my suitcase. the cleaner came in while I was going through my stuff and laughed out! Kitchen Floor is often dirty and sticky too! Dishes are left unwashed overnight

Great location, comfortable beds, friendly staff. Especially Dhiraj is very helpful at the reception. I stayed 4 nights and had no issues. Good job guys. Thanks for your efforts
