Awesome pizza, some locals told us it was best in the city. It was really good, thin crust. We had the meat lovers and chicken bacon ranch pizza and the daily special poutine between 6 people and it was the perfect amount of food. Would recommend

Food was excellent and so was the service! Portions are a good size. A bit pricey but prices were comparable to the norm today. Decor was creative :). I’d definitely recommend!

If you pass through Revelstoke, do not miss your chance to visit The Village Idiot. This quirky, ski-themed pub is a fun place to visit :) We were welcomed in and received excellent service. The burgers and fries are fantastic! Try the Kitchen Sink burger - Beef, chicken, ham, bacon, fried egg, cheese, mushrooms, lettuce, dill pickles, and house sauces. WOW! The mussels are really tasty as well, done in a savoury garlic butter sauce. The pizza looks fabulous as well. That will be for our next trip :)

1st time being in here to eat. On a Monday night during the winter, this place was hopping!! We really enjoyed the friendly service and the inside decor. And the food was so delicious! I ordered and Tuna Tacos with yam fries, my daughter the small poutine which was a normal consumable size, and my husband got a burger. Good cocktails too! We’ll be back!!

Google
What a fun & funky bar and restaurant! Food was great! We ordered Caesar salad and a large pizza (it was LARGE). We had the Cinnamon Toast Crunch desert as well and ended up sharing it with the people next to us!

Lively spot with a great atmosphere and a buzzing crowd. The arugula, feta, and squash pizza stood out—unique and flavorful. Poutine was solid too. Bonus points for karaoke nights if you’re into that. Worth a visit.

Don’t bypass the Village Idiot if you visit Revelstoke! We came here for apres ski our first and last day of our trip. LOVE the atmosphere with old skis hanging everywhere. This place has character for sure. The wait staff was attentive and lively. Love watching the ski videos they had on display after we just enjoyed our own powder day. Kept searching online for the best poutine and Village Idiot kept coming up and it did not disappoint! Just did four stars only because the pulled pork was a little different (understanding we do BBQ differently in the US). Had burgers and fries the first time around- the yam fries are amazing! Has a selection of mocktails which I really appreciated.

I came here twice during a company trip because majority of the group really wanted to come here multiple times. We came here between 5-7pm each time and we were seated quickly. Both times I thought the food was amazing, but the time it takes for your food to come between ordering and being served is over 35 minutes! And I came here on a weekday for both days so I can't imagine how long it takes for your food to come during the weekends. Like I said, the food was great! I highly recommend the fire package on your food (it is fried jalapenos and onions). Their mixed drinks taste great too! I prefer my drinks on the fruity side and theirs hit the spot. Overall, I liked it, but I wouldn't come again especially if I'm starving and looking for a quick bite.

Yelp
Overall my partner and I agreed it's a 8/10 If you were going to describe this place I would say it looks and feels like the perfect way to describe Canadians, with the decor and toques 100% Canadian!! Staff was great!! Super friendly and very in the ball The atmosphere was nice, it was super busy and packed (waited about 15-20 mins) but it wasn't overly loud. Food was good, we started with the hippy dip and it was delicious!! I would definitely come back to try more starters, the only thing I would say is the pita was slightly overdone but overall a wonderful starter. partner had the pesto chicken sandwich and it was fantastic and the poutine on the side needed some seasoning. I had the better burger, the patty didn't have a lot of flavor....i think maybe If the meat was seasoned a little more of could have been really good, the hand cut fries were ok and again just needed to be salted sooner out of the fryer. The dessert (cinnamon toast ) I loved!! It was warm and fluffy and enough to share between 4 people. Like I said overall the experience was wonderful I will be returning to try more. Thank you!!

Yelp
Our family loves this place. The food is really good. Highly recommend the pizza. Fun vibe and solid service.

Yelp
Very crowded with a line out the door. Cool atmosphere and tasty food, fits in with the downtown vibe of Revelstoke. Be prepared to walk a bit for parking

Andrea S.

Yelp
The VI is definitely the spot for the hometown pub feels. Their sourdough deep dish pizza will live rent free in my memories forever, but they don't always have it. Their regular pizza is great too, mussels are delicious, and service is generally good even when they're busy.

Yelp
Great lunch spot today. Beautiful day on the outside patio. Great cold beer, wonderful wait staff shared the chicken pesto sandwich on ciabatta bread.Outstanding bread! Hand cut fries with a side of poutine fries! Our waitress was great. Drinks and other food passing us by looked amazing. This is a must stop place in Revelstoke.

Terry-Jo L.

Yelp
Great variety of food. staff were attentive! I love the flamingo and ski decor. Very unique.

Nancy M.

Yelp
We just stopped in here for a quick drink before heading elsewhere and wish we would have stayed a while! Our server Shanay was so cute and kind. Great prices, great beer & cocktails. Classic ski bar ambiance! We will be back :-)

Chanel H.

Yelp
They have vegetarian and vegan options!! I thought this place was going to be a local spot with "ok" bar food, but food was really good. We got the UMAMI bowl and poutine. Pretty good. It exceeded my expectations. This umai bowl: crispy crusted tofu, brussell sprouts, portobello mushrooms, roasted butternut squash, pumpkin seeds, pickled beets with house made umami sauce on top of red lentils. Ate this up! Everybite was full-on flavor. We added caramelized onions and mushrooms to the poutine. The fresh cut fries were fresh and crispy coveted with generous gravy & cheese curds. It was one of the best poutine I've tasted.

Emmi A.

Yelp
favourite restaurant. Everything is actually so good i cant express how much I love the village idiot

Hugh K.

Yelp
Our server was friendly enough but it took a long time for us to get our beverages and even longer to get our food. Unfortunately, one of our meals definitely was NOT worth waiting for. I ordered a hamburger and it was really dry and really overcooked. My partner got the pulled pork sandwich and he liked it a lot.

Michelle M.

Yelp
Travelling through Revelstoke popped in here for lunch. I had the pink lemonade seltzer OMG delicious and so refreshing. We also had a pint of peach ale Also delicious. We shared the humus veggie platter and periogies. The humus and 2 other dips were great and the amount of veggies and pitas were great. The price for 6 periogies was a bit much for what you get. They tasted ok. Not something I would ordered again. Sophie was our server and she was lovely and great. Service was amazing. The price point on things seems a bit steep to me.

Jessica G.

Yelp
Amazing food , service and environment. Pizza never disappoints. Loved by locals, if you are visiting this is a must on the to do list!

Zeya K.

Yelp
SO GOOD! Had the pizza, ginger mocktail, and yam fries. All was delicious. Food was hot and service was good. It had a really nice small town family bar and grill vibe. A good mix of locals and out-of-towners. Overall a sick little spot that is clearly popular for a good reason. Totally would visit again.

Candace Y.

Yelp
I liked this place. MOsttly, friends and I came here in the later evening to have beers and only a little food. The beer selection featured the local craft brewery, Mt Begbie. I'm pleased to say that the beers that I sampled were quite good.. They even had a milk stout! One of our group ordered a large salad. Another ordered the rack of pork ribs. I (ahem) sampled both and enjoyed both a lot. I would not mind coming back here when I'm hungrier in order to dive into full plates of the food they serve.

Sarah R.

Yelp
Friendly staff, lively atmosphere. Food is super flavorful and not greasy at all. Recommend the chicken tacos

Gwen N.

Yelp
A fun and casual après-ski spot that's got a menu full of comfort food. I always gravitate towards the burger (Better Burger) and fries along with the wings (Ain't No Thang...). We got the poutine last time and thought the gravy was a bit on the salty side, but maybe that's to encourage more beer drinking :P. I liked that they layered the cheese and gravy but my partner thought it was too soggy. The portions are hearty and filling, especially when you need to refuel after a long day at the hills. The ambiance is very casual with ski and snowboarding paraphernalia used as decor to give a real ski cabin feel. The service is pleasant and parking is easily found on the street outside.

Jordan N.

Yelp
A hip spot in the heart of Revelstoke, this restaurant has cool snowboard art pieces and an entertaining menu to pull in new customers. The menu has plenty of affordable burgers and pizzas and a decent drink selection, but the interior/exterior is the highlight in my opinion. In ordered the FAL-AW-FAL sandwich ($16) with a soup side, which was a decent and filling meal. The meal was nothing special but the service was good and it was affordable. Come here if your looking for a unique affordable place to eat in Revelstoke if you don't mind a bit of a wait. A super nice seating arrangement and nice service made it for me :)

Julie P.

Yelp
This restaurant is excellent! I ordered the nachos and they were enough for a whole meal. There was tons of TVs so if you want to watch a game or anything you can see it anywhere in the restaurant. The service was good. My only complaint would be the margarita I ordered was not awesome but I should have expected that.

Nicole S.

Yelp
**3.5 out of five stars** WOW bring ear plugs because you will not be able to hear your friends anyways. We arrived around 4 pm and fairly busy for a Remembrance Day. We were greeted right away and sat at a long wooden picnic table it had cool snowflakes engraved into it. Our waitress was friendly and prompt with drinks. Even came back a few times with refills of coffee for my husband. As we sat there longer more people came in and we had to share this picnic table with other patronage. It got extremely busy and we found that the sitting arrangement FAILED miserably! It felt like nobody had any personal space. The next table to us that was just like our was only a few feet away and not really enough room to pull out your seat without disrupting the table behind you. We ordered the idiot twist as an appetizer. They came out warm with equal amount of parmesan & garlic. My husband ordered the cheeseburger pizza without onions and even though it was busy the kitchen and waitress listened. Found it to be a bit spicy, and we all enjoy spice with our food, take this as you wish. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, full of flavour and the sweet coleslaw on the bottom was a nice touch. I want to add that I first took a bite of the poutine. The cheese curds were COLD, I found the gravy salty too. My daughter ordered a clams casino the portion size is a bit small and beware very salty we found *a lot* of capers which can make the pasta dish salty. We did tell the waitress it was my birthday I even showed my ID. Not that we were expecting anything but sometimes showing the establishment that it really is your birthday you get something. We didn't get anything for 10% off or free dessert... we got nothing so don't expect anything.

Christina K.

Yelp
We stopped in here before heading up to the mountain our first day and bellied up to the bar for a bite to eat. My sweets ordered the pulled pork and fries which came out massive and delicious. I ordered the vegan chili with a side of fries. I dare say it was the best bowl of chili (meatless or with beef/turkey/etc) that I've ever had. The flavors were delicious and it was super hardy...I couldn't finish the bowl or the fries. The staff are super friendly (we are in Canada after all) and the other patrons were kind and like able. It's a great spot to come with kiddos, despite the name. ;). I highly recommend popping in and look forward to trying the poutine after a day of riding.

Tyler W.

Yelp
Hawaiian pizza was the worst Hawaiian pizza I've ever had. Next to no sauce, skimpy on pineapples and ham. Not to mention this pizza was $33

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
We were seated within 10 minutes. We ordered the popular chicken and pesto pizza and nachos. The portions were hardy; we still had some food leftover with two people. The pizza we ordered was fantastic! I am so glad I got it. I was debating over pizza or pasta, but this pizza literally tasted like pasta on top of pizza dough. It sounds weird but it was surprisingly delicious. As for the nacho, I was just plain nachos. Nothing special. If I were to come back, I would come back for the pizza and beer :)

L R.

Yelp
They made the perfect Caesar! The pizza was also really good and the crust tastes like "Crazy Bread" We shared a small pizza and it was plenty for two people.

Lindsay D.

Yelp
A divey/skater kind of place. Super chill and easy going service is super friendly...they will acknowledge you as soon as you walk in the door. The menu is quite extensive but I tried their veggie burger that was on special as part of the Revelstoke burger challenge week. It was a very indulgent goat cheese stuffed fried portobello patty topped with jalapenos and slaw. The goat cheese was very generous, prob 1/2 inch thick. There was some sort of veggie medley and fries that came as the sides. The veggie thing was delicious, tons of flavour! The fries were hand cut, clearly not frozen. The bartender and clients across the street at the Monashee distillery also raved about the flatbread. Water comes in a closed Mason jar with a little jar to use as a cup. My waiter was really great-- she made sure to come by and periodically check on me. Food came out probably 5 minutes after I ordered it. This place would be a great hang out with friends apres-ski or solo apres-hike, as I did! One of the few places open later on a Sunday as well.

Paloma S.

Yelp
Probably the best pizza in the mountains! Crust is top notch! Shots** amazing Our bartender Ian was super helpful in giving us tips for around town. Great selection of beer and wine. Could possibly drink here all afternoon. Sports bar with lots of TVs. Excellent spot!

Shannon Y.

Yelp
This place is definitely THE place to grab food and drinks when in Revelstoke! We had to wait a bit to get seated at a family style dining table but it was worth the wait! Portions are huge and we actually took leftovers home to the hotel! I got the shezwan stir fry; the server made sure I was ok with "really spicy" and it actually was almost too spicy!! But it was delicious! My partner got the carbonara and it was also amazing and he took half of it home... we should not have bothered w the garlic twists but glad we did. Next time we will try the pizza because everything coming out of the kitchen looked great! One thing I would mention is that the kitchen seemed to be really busy (Friday night) so don't be mad if things take a long time! Plus, the food is so great it's worth the wait

Alison T.

Yelp
Ordered to-go food since they didn't allow dogs on the patio. Delicious! Would come back.

Rose L.

Yelp
I love this place. The décor was unique, and the menu was surprisingly varied since FB lists it as a 'pizza place'! I had a pasta dish (the name escapes me) that tasted much better than I anticipated. If I pass through Revelstoke again, I'll definitely pay another visit.

JJ J.

Yelp
Surprisingly good food all around for this ski-town pub. They have a wide variety of menu options besides basic pub food, including stir fry. The wings were tasty, full sized wings; properly fried and a little crispy. Their homemade buffalo sauce was buttery, if not quite as hot as Frank's Red Hot. My friend said the spinach salad was amazing, and it looked like it had a lot of different veggies in it. They also have a good selection of gluten free options, and have a whole paragraph of what they're trying to do that's GF. We'll definitely be back this week.

Shamitha S.

Yelp
Great expectations but food fell short. We arrived in Revelstoke last night and were very excited to have dinner at the Village Idiot Pub. The beer selection was varied (Guinness on tap!) and the wait was around 30 minutes but we were seated before that. We were very happy to see so many vegetarian choices on the menu and had a tough time deciding. We settled on the pizza, stir fry, bread twists and salad. The bread twists and pizza dough were devoid of salt - maybe the kitchen had a snafu? The salad was fine as was the stir fry. There was a very, loud and rambunctious customer at the bar just next to our table. However this is a pub so we expected a lively environment. If you have very young or children with sensitive ears, I would not recommend this place. Deducting two stars for the food.

Jamie W.

Yelp
What a great pub! Nice decorum, happy and helpful staff and the food was fantastic - had the tofu bowl and the Thai salad...and beer. Enjoy!

Brian X.

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner on guys bike trip. The place was reasonably busy considering COVID just ending. We had Hamburger and pulled pork sandwiches. Both very good. Nice rustic atmosphere.

Matt M.

Yelp
Cool place with cool decor Interesting food options and the taste was quite good Daughters had spaghetti with white and red sauce (there is no kids menu). Sauces were very good. I had kitchen sink burger. Very large and messy. Probably wouldn't get again although it was good. Wife had pesto chicken club. She wasn't blown away by it. Overall value was okay, a bit on the pricey side. Would comeback.

Rohit A.

Yelp
Located in the heart of Revelstoke, this place really is a Gem! We stopped here on our way back to Vancouver after a long drive and was just hoping to get a few quick bites. It was late the night and we weren't hoping to see a lot of people but, to our surprise, the place was actually buzzing with people! They have a great selection of drinks and good food options. Guinness Caesar is highly recommended if you are looking to get some alcohol.

MJ L.

Yelp
As soon as you walk through the large wooden doors, you know you're in for a different experience. Ski bums and snow bunnies seek haven in a real down home resto. Salt N pepper chicken wings arrived piping hot with blue cheese and dill dip lightly dusted with corneal rather than covered in a deep fried coating. Devoured those in 5minutes! Hubby had a green salad with balsamic soy vinaigrette and grilled tofu which he loved. Son had carbonawesome- pasta with broccoli and bacon in cream sauce. A bit salty from the bacon. I had linguine with clam in olive oil, garlic and red chili flakes- perfect heat and al dente pasta! So yummy. Again, the bacon was too salty for our tastes. Would definitely return here to try the pizza as it looked amazing!!! Service was great!!

Julie S.

Yelp
First time here last night and I was blown away by the quality and the taste if the food. I had the Brilliant burger which had smoked corn and slices of back bacon. The burger was good, but what got me was their quinoa salad - curry flavoured - so good. Totally not what I expected! Worth the $1.99 cost to upgrade the salad. My cousin grabbed their Chicken Un-Pie - their version of chicken pot pie, but without the pie crust. OMG - was the chicken ever delicious! Tender, juicy, and so full of flavour. They nestled a large piece of chicken breast with a drumlet onto of a bed of pillowy soft mashed potatoes and garvy with veggies. Soooo good. Service was a bit slow, but there was a festival happening, so the place was packed. But we got our food in a decent amount of time. Will definitely end up doing this as our lunch stop instead of Kamloops - all because of the chicken un-pie. :P

Raul M.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, awesome food and even better service. Tried the Kitchen Sink and the Breakfast for Dinner pizza while in town. Definitely need to check it out while visiting Revelstoke

Ryan L.

Yelp
Lots of positive reviews, but I'm not so sure. First, they opened nearly 15 minutes late. No explanation or apology when they finally opened the doors. Tried calling them to see if they were going to open, but no answer. Food was ho-hum. We don't drink, so while the beer list may be extensive, that's lost on us.

Kevin W.

Yelp
I was greeted by a friendly hostess and was asked to wait for my table, however the the bar tender became unglued when I approached the bar to view the beer on tap, I stepped back and said I will wait for my table to order a beer, the bar tender said if I don't like the rules then there's the door.... I left. FYI, neither the bar tender or hostess was wearing a mask yet he reminded me I was not following the government rules??? No problem, there are lots of great pubs and restaurants in Revelstoke. Service and food was great at Emo's.

Gloria F.

Yelp
We were recommended the village idiot as a great casual local option in revelstoke, and we were not disappointed. We ended up here 2x, first time for dinner and the next night for happy hour. The interior digs are just that of a pub. What is surprising is that the menu and drink list are surprisingly extensive. Most times when I go to pubs, I usually resign myself to fried food and beer. Not the case at the village idiot. The wines by the glass list was plentiful (10 choices?). Food choices ranged from typical bar food like burgers and pizza but salads, fish entrees, Asian stir fry bowls were the exact opposite side of the spectrum. Prices are very reasonable and seem to cater to locals. After a big day of skiing, if you are just looking for chill meal/ hangout spot, village idiot is a top spot in revelstoke.

Ami T.

Yelp
This place came highly recommended from a local, so we had high hopes but meh, can't give it more than 3 stars. + Atmosphere: It's a total ski bum hang out. Totally loved that feel. + Service: Super friendly and nice. + Cool decor with bar stools made with old skis and TVs showing extreme skiing video - Food: Unfortunately everything was very average and unmemorable. There were 3 of us and we got: *Cheeseburger : Nothing wrong with it, but not great. Very average. *Poutine : We've had better... don't get it unless you're dying to eat poutine. *Green salad : We each got a small size salad to start with and we enjoyed it. Everything was fresh. *Pizza : Ugh. Biggest let down. The local said the best pizza in town so I had high hopes but super doughy and the sauce lacked flavor.... I liked that they had lots of fancy toppings (I got basil, sun dried tomatoes and roasted garlic) but yeah the crust and sauce sucked. *Stir fry: It looked like a soggy mess. My friend got it with thin rice noodle and I think that was a mistake. It probably would have been better with regular chow mein noodle (egg noodle). The dish looked very watery. One thing in common for all dishes was that they give you huge portions. So if you're hungry and don't really care for the quality of food, this place is probably ok. Dining at The Village Idiot reminded me why I never eat out at restaurants while visiting rural ski towns. You never find good food! Lol. Needless to say, for the remainder of our stay in Revelstoke, we cooked.

Molly M.

Yelp
Walked in here on a beautiful day while driving from Kelowna to Banff. Amazing stop and one of the best meals on the trip! Incredibly kind staff and very chatty. Great local spot. Poutine starter is a must!

Christina C.

Yelp
I visited here on my first night in Revelstoke. It is nestled right into a busy street in town which was a lot of fun to wander anf peruse. The restaurant itself is cozy inside and the decor was unique. I had the fish tacos (called We Found Nemo). I am not a guacamole fan but my god, that was the best I have ever tasted. The food came out reasonably fast, the beer was cold, and the servers were incredibly sweet.

Glen P.

Yelp
This place came highly recommended by some of the locals and they were right on!! What a place!! Great beer selection on tap. Had a couple of he local brews, which were terrific. The atmosphere was pretty sweet as well. The place was loaded with old skis and snowboards along with all kinds of cool pictures. Plenty of TVs, so you can watch from any table. Had the pizza.....great stuff. One of the best I've had in a long time. Thin crust, very tasty. Our waitress was great as well. Shame on us for not getting her name. Definitely need to make this a priority if you're in town. And get a tee shirt....great logo!!

Justin B.

Yelp
Cool ambiance Average food Busy waitress brought us something we didn't want Ribs were soft , spicy but the sauce tasted generic and the huge pieces of vegetables were a fork & knife affair. Perogies were dry and not fried at all and I'm glad that wasn't my main. The Cesar salad was also average / good. I want to become more critical in my reviews and hand out less stars therefor the village idiot starts the trend for average restaurants reviewed at two stars.

Kim D.

Yelp
Enjoyed a nice lunch here at the Village Idiot. Nice menu of staple items... Burgers, fries, wings... Stir fry (you build), pizzas Nice selection of eclectic foods. If you are a sale enjoyer, there were a few nice ones with a variety of great ingredients. Lunch was busy with lots of people, service good and food came out super fast, environment a typical sport bar but not overwhelmingly so and nicely rustic,... Would I come back? You bet ya!

Richard M.

Yelp
Best Pizza Ever. - Anywhere, Anytime. Do yourself a Favour... Get the Barbeque Beef Pizza.

Jaime S.

Yelp
Visited the a village Idiot on Canada Day. Was seated on the patio, which was great. The menu is entertaining, the food decent (although my hubby wasn't a fan of the wings) and the location is good.
