We loved the Village Inn in Woodstock. Great place to experience the magical town of Woodstock especially during the Wassail Weekend. I wanted to have a Hallmark Christmas Moment and this visit definitely fit the bill! Heather and her wonderful staff treated us like family (or maybe even a bit better!! ) They made our joint birthday celebrations so special. The breakfasts were wonderful. The room was great with all its personal touches. If we needed anything all we had to do was ask. Everyone who stayed there were fun and easy to visit with over breakfast or drinks in the afternoon by the fire place. We ate dinner at Vic's Tavern the first night and it was amazing! We dined at a few other places based on Heather's recommendations and they were wonderful. I am so glad she reminded me a few weeks prior to our visit to make reservations since it was a busy weekend for the quaint town. Definitely recommend the Village Inn in Woodstock and Vic's Tavern to anyone looking for something special in Woodstock.

The Village Inn is one of our favorite B&Bs in Woodstock. The home is charm throughout and has a number of unique architectural features. The room was cozy and comfortable and the linens, soaps, and lotions were great. ||Heather, the owner/chef was warm and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious, especially the strata with mushrooms, carmelized onion, and a light, crisp layer of cheese on top, as well as the bacon. For dinner that weekend they had a creole inspired menu. The shrimp and corn bisque was a delicious. I had the scallop Etouffe, which had amazing flavors and my husband had the gumbo that was rich, smoky, and wonderful! The inn has a lovely small tavern onsite, as well. I highly recommended the Village Inn in Woodstock, not only is it a great B&B but it has one of the best restaurants in town!

We cannot express enough gratitude to Heather and Jarret, the wonderful owners of The Village Inn of Woodstock, for helping us create such a magical wedding day. When we asked to be married on their beautiful property, they immediately accommodated us, and their entire team went above and beyond. Special thanks to Sawyer, the bartender extraordinaire and go-to guy at The Vic Tavern, for helping make everything seamless. From setting up the space to decorating the fireplace and even capturing photos and videos of us exchanging our vows, their thoughtfulness made the moment unforgettable. The Inn itself is just as wonderful as the people who run it. The rooms are both beautiful and comfortable, offering the perfect blend of charm and relaxation. The location couldn’t be more ideal—just a short walk to the heart of Woodstock village, where everything is easily accessible. Each morning, we were treated to fabulous breakfast offerings, lovingly prepared by Heather, and we can't forget to mention the cleverly crafted cocktails at the Vic, which were a perfect complement to our evenings. We had our ceremony in a charming, eclectic space just outside the Vic Tavern, and afterward, Heather and Sawyer hosted us and our officiant for a mini reception in the Tavern. We were greeted with prosecco and great conversation, making us feel like we were celebrating with friends. If you're looking for a venue that combines charm, warmth, and personal care, The Village Inn of Woodstock is it. Thank you again to Heather, Jarret, and Sawyer for making our day so special!

We loved the historic charm of this B&B. Our room was beautiful with nice linens and we enjoyed the hot breakfasts each day. The owner was pleasant and seems fun. We wish we could have enjoyed dinner here but the tavern was as closed that evening. Some negatives were…very small bathroom and shower. Very little space to put luggage. Our TV was mounted to a wall on the side of our bed which made viewing uncomfortable. We watched TV on our laptop instead, not ideal. Also our room was near the road-which was very loud starting extremely early in the morning. The sound machine was a nice thought but did not drown out the noise much at all.

If it wasn't for the snow outside I would have sworn I was staying at a B&B in New Orleans! What a cozy eclectic inn! And the owners go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. We adored their hospitality and will be looking at a return trip!

If you're planning a trip to Woodstock, this is definitely the place to stay (esp. for couples or traveling with friends). The inn has everything you want and more: friendly staff, cozy & clean rooms, awesome little bar with great cocktails, delicious breakfast, cool interior design, parking included, and walking distance from Main Street. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time here for two nights in September. The Inn is beautifully decorated, and the food is great. Heather took great care of us and our room was so comfy. Very comfortable bed, easy walk to everything. We would definitely stay again!

An all around amazing stay! Heather was very friendly and helpful. The inn itself is beautiful, rooms are well appointed and no issues whatsoever. Good location, a short walk into town and a short drive to various things (several breweries, various farms, and hiking trails) The complimentary breakfast was fantastic, highly recommended!

Yelp
Great dinner spot. Intimate, small but interesting menu. Definitely attention to detail and making sure everything was perfect. Bartender came out to our table to make sure the ice size was to my husbands liking!!! Also, the dessert we wanted warmed and the chef came Out to make sure it was ok! We were happy ordering appetizers and salads. Both proved to be delicious and satisfying. Baked Brie was definitely enough for 4 so served as basic meal for the two of us. Unique twist on Tom Yan soup was great! Caesar salad also Delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant !!!!

Yelp
Lovely B & B in beautiful Woodstock. The "room" was so vintage and fun. Large comfy seating by the fireplace and TV in the front room. Next walk into bath accommodations with doors for privacy. We had a great shower and a large soaking tub with candles, by a large window, beautiful! The large king bed provided a great nights sleep with great sheets, pillows and a fluffy comforter. It was a canopy bed which I loved as well as. Decor was perfect. Breakfast was served in the dining rooms downstairs with garden and bustling street views. Soft music and the food, oh how exquisite! Each morning we had coffee, juice, a fresh smoothie and farm to table local dishes that were absolutely delicious! Evenings in the "full bar" area with tasty drinks and a charcuterie board second to none! I highly recommend this true Bed and Breakfast and thank you Heather for your warm hospitality!

Yelp
When my husband and I travel by ourselves we enjoy going to bed and breakfast for the unique homely atmosphere that each one offers. As well as meeting other folks and of course to support local business. This inn is charming, well kept, room #3 was as described, except missing something that was quite important to me. Prior to going away, I check on this site mainly to see if a coffee maker is in room. I am a very early riser and have no problem bringing my 1 cup maker if needed. When we met owner later in evening my husband inquired about coffee maker in room. The owner became quite hostile, verbalized that we were mistaken. My husband showed Heather site and pics of coffee and tea maker. Instead of being kind about request her demeanor became very defensive. Towards the end of discussion, Heather mentioned that there was a keurig maker upstairs from our floor, too bad she had to let her mean demeanor get ahead of her as it was not an issue for me to go upstairs. In addition, there was no tour of inn, information on upcoming events at the Vic lounge. The first night we were there we met another couple at an amazing pub who with their friends were celebrating a birthday. My husband and I were invited to join the following night. On are arrival back to the inn, there was fabulous music playing (we had no idea of any such event). Shortly afterwards I was speaking to one of the musicians as he was packing his belongings, and this is when I overheard Heather speaking loudly to someone regarding her interaction with me and my husband. I can't really say if she was drunk in any event, she was exaggerating discussion, as well as saying unkind things regarding my appearance. (Yes, Heather I heard your rude comments about botox and frankly that is a compliment as I am way overdue!!) On a positive note, the young ladies who served breakfast were amazing, and their dog was absolutely the sweetest.

Yelp
First time staying in an Inn like this and loved it! Loved how quaint and quiet with reassurance that everything was clean. You can't always get that at chain hotels. Heather greeted us at check in and throughout the visit to really make us feel welcome. Also enjoyed THE best breakfast (which was included) in their garden. The inn also has a cute little bar we didn't get to check out but would make for a nice drink on your way out for an evening.

Yelp
My wife and I were traveling through the area and spent the night here. We were greeted by friendly staff and checked in. This building has been here a long time but is well maintained; there is an abundance of dark wood features and accents. There is a warm inviting feel. Our room was very clean, comfortable and inviting. There is a small tavern in the building, open from 4-7pm; a nice touch. The the breakfast was delicious. The inn is in easy walking distance of downtown Woodstock. If you are in the area this is a great place to stay.

Yelp
This place is great! The minute you walk in you sense the history and magic of the house. It's a cool vibe - kind of old Victorian mansion meets (non scary) murder mystery setting. Heather went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and happy. She gave us great restaurant recommendations. The room was clean and spacious. The bathrooms are all updated. There is a sunny outdoor patio space. Minifridge in a shared kitcheny space. We mentioned that we bought some cheese nearby at a farm and Heather was so thoughtful - she texted us to say that she left us a cheese plate, wine glasses, and two chocolate truffles! The location is nice because you can walk into town easily. The bar and living room are a nice place to hang out. Breakfast was delicious. The coffee was excellent and Heather was accommodating to our vegetarian diet. Highly recommend.

Yelp
This B&B was exactly What we were looking for. Not right in the middle of town, but still just a short walk to cute downtown! The staff was incredible here. I can not say enough good things about them. They were extremely willing to help make suggestions and tell us the best places to bop about throughout the town. Not to mention the food .. was.. phenomenal. Completely blew my expectations out of the water. I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
You will truly miss a unique B&B experience if you pass this one by. Heather is an exceptionally welcoming, talented and knowledgeable host and her crew is equally attentive, friendly and hospitable. The Village Inn is a gorgeous historic building with a cozy vibe throughout. The downstairs bar with beautiful stained glass windows and the fireside couch were our favorite hangout spots after long days exploring. In our room the queen bed complete with a down mattress topper was one of the most comfortable I've slept in away from home. The large tub with water jets was perfect for evening bubble baths. Our favorite part of the stay was Heather's scrumptious and hearty homemade breakfasts. We cannot thank Heather enough for going out of her way to make our stay outstanding. 5/5 stars across the board!

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here while on our honeymoon in December. It perfect place for us: quiet, comfortable, adorable, and our hosts were so friendly and gracious. If you are looking for a place to stay around Woodstock, you can stop looking, THIS IS IT. It was the perfect location to walk around Woodstock, take day trips to other towns in VT, and was comfortable and spacious when we wanted to relax and spend the afternoon staying in. We can't recommend The Village Inn enough and can't wait to get back ourselves!

Melanie S.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and had an amazing time! The owners were so welcoming and so much fun to talk to. The food was fantastic and inspiring - everything made fresh and from local farmers. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean, and decorated nicely. Very thoughtful gift in our room (from Simon Pearce). The owners also had great local recommendations of things to do and where to eat. Also a complimentary drink during happy hour sets your night right! Even other guests at the Inn were pleasant to talk to and spend the evening with on the porch - very friendly crew there at the Inn! We plan on coming here again!

Yelp
I loved this place. There were a couple things I'd change, but overall, it was a great night and I'd absolutely recommend it. I booked online directly after a fiasco trying to book the Ardmore on Hotels.Com. I'm so glad I did. It was very clear that Evelyn and David took great care in creating the feel and ambiance of their inn. It's a quiet retreat, with prohibitions on pets and children, and a bar that serves only inn guests. Michael checked us in and explained everything we needed to know to enjoy all of the inn's amenities. Happy hour included a complimentary glass of wine and some conversation with other inn guests. Our room (#5) was beautiful and spacious; with a bedroom, bathroom, and sitting room with gas fireplace. The bathroom included a pipe-less jetted tub, which was sparkling clean and very nice. Overall, it was actually way more room than we needed, but it was the only room available for a one night stay, so that's what I booked. I will say that the layout of this particular room was a little awkward. The bathroom for this setup was in the middle - you walk through it to get from the sitting room to the bedroom. That means that if someone is using the bathroom, you end up trapped in one room or the other until they are done. The shower was also on the small side and not quite hot enough, but it wasn't enough to really be a deterrent. The bed reminded me of a big cloud and the place was really quiet, so I did get a good night's sleep. In the morning, we went down at the appointed hour for breakfast. The menu card on the table did not do this meal justice - it was filling and absolutely delicious. The best breakfast I have had in quite some time. The multicourse meal started with some fresh orange juice and a little fruit and berry cup. That was followed by one of the best breakfast muffins I have ever had. It was a blueberry, raspberry, and lemon concoction with an oatmeal topping. I plan to search high and low for a recipe to replicate it. That was followed by the Quiche Lorraine, side of bacon, and a choice of fresh made bread. The quiche was light and flavorful with a texture that was just perfect. The breads were both buttery and delicious. My boyfriend would have preferred some regular coffee flavored coffee (as opposed to the chicory variety), but that was the only thing I would change. Overall, a big winner on our trip and a place I would absolutely return to.

Yelp
A long planned fall foliage vacation and extensive research on B&B's in southern Vermont led us to The Village Inn of Woodstock. This bed & breakfast had garnered many rave reviews and was located just at the edge of the main street in the chic town of Woodstock. Their web site was very helpful and we booked our stay in room 5, the inn's only 2-room suite. We have to say that we found the fact that the bathroom was a pass-through between the bedroom and the sitting room to be a bit awkward. But otherwise, the room was beautiful, immaculately clean and richly appointed with a wonderfully comfortable king size bed. All possible temperature options were available including heat, air-conditioning, fireplace and screened windows. A small refrigerator in the room was extremely convenient. Our inn-keepers, Evelyn and David, met us at the door and we were warmly greeted. Check-in was fast and efficient and we were then given a tour of the house, it's features and public spaces including a beautiful bar area. At check-in, Evelyn asked our coffee/tea preferences and every morning the correct beverages appeared quickly on our breakfast table as soon as we arrived in the comfortable dining room. Evelyn clearly prides herself on her breakfasts and there is always a fruit starter, home made pastry and choice of eggs or daily special served with home-baked bread. Saturday's breakfast special of waffles was the best we'd ever eaten but all the food was excellent. And, if Evelyn's fresh baked cake and the bowl of candy in the lounge didn't satisfy our sweet tooth, the bon-bons left in our room were extra yummy and appreciated. Although the inn doesn't serve dinner, Evelyn and David were both always very helpful with restaurant recommendations and there are lots of choices in the area. The inn is also conveniently located within a couple of blocks of both a mini mart and fantastic gourmet prepared food and sandwich place called Pane E Salute. Having the small fridge in our room meant we could stop in to either of these places and keep easy lunches and snacks on hand for quick breaks in between sight-seeing. We did have one small bone to pick with our inn-keepers. None of the rooms at the inn have telephones and when we inquired we were told that everyone has a cell phone these days. Whether that's true or not, we were also told on our check-in tour that cell reception was spotty. Hmm... Nevertheless, we had a great time and the inn lived up to it's reputation. So, thank you, Evelyn and David. We'll be back.

Yelp
Just got back from a fabulous weekend away at the Village Inn of Woodstock. We went during the week in December and it was absolutely wonderful. Evelyn (who has quite an outgoing personality) and David (more laid-back but extremely friendly and accommodating) did a fine job in making our stay special. Not only was the decor so beautifully done with the holiday decorations (and the Victorian twist on the whole place), we were treated like we were royalty and family all at the same time. The breakfasts were so amazing and were absolutely five star. I highly recommend this place for a little weekend or midweek get away. The town of Woodstock is charming too. We had massages one of the days over at the Woodstock Inn. But seeing both places (and peeking in on the rooms at the Woodstock Inn), I recommend staying at the Village Inn and then having your massage at the Woodstock Inn (where the spa and the massage services are absolutely top-notch).

Yelp
Beyond the wonderful charm of a well run inn, elegantly cozy, this place has one of THE best breakfasts I have ever had - and I LIVE for breakfast. Homemade everything by the owners; scones, cream cheese ice cream w/grilled pineapple, yummy granola w/fresh berries and fruit, the tastiest scrambled eggs I've ever had, w/fresh squeezed OJ. Everything else as wonderful as you'd hope for. We have staying here several times, and always look forward to going back.

Yelp
We visited in the off-season and were delighted to find this well located and charming B&B. Beautifully appointed, very clean, comfortable rooms and delicious breakfast this spot lives up to its name. Highly recommended for those looking for a country experience.

Yelp
Stayed here back in August for a few days. It was our first experience at a bed and breakfast and we were very happy. We got a breakfast every day as well as a free glass of wine around 5 each day. Walking distance to the town, clean rooms and friendly staff. Garden area was so charming, we would go back again.

Yelp
We stayed here for two nights in July 2013 and the experience we had exceeded our expectations. Woodstock is charming on its own, but The Village Inn just defines charm and romance. The innkeeper, Evelyn, was so friendly and helpful. I put a note on our reservation that we were going to be there for our babymoon, and she upgraded us to a beautiful two room suite: from room #2 to room #5. The property was really well-maintained and the rooms were spotless. Unlike most bed & breakfasts, the bed was actually comfortable! Oh, and we were totally spoiled by the three course breakfast each morning-- it was amazing. Evelyn and her team do an awesome job and I would recommend The Village Inn to anyone who is thinking about visiting Woodstock.

Julia D.

Yelp
We stayed at the Village Inn for two nights. It is very conveniently located within walking distance from the town of Woodstock. The innkeepers are very friendly and helpful. The Inn is an older building, decorated very ornately and can be a little overwhelming. Our room was really three small rooms lined up in a row with the bed in one, bathroom in the middle and sitting room on the end. This made it feel like whatever room you were in, it was small. The bathtub, however, was huge and deep. I loved soaking in the tub with bath salts I picked up at FW Gillingham store. The highlight of our Woodstock stay was the breakfasts at the inn. Everything is homemade and cooked perfectly. The food is locally sourced as well. I enjoyed quiche the first morning and eggs the next day. They have an Irish farmhouse wheat bread so good I asked for the recipe (and got it!). Fruit was served in chilled wine glasses. The fruit was crisp and fresh, fully ripe and sweet as it should be. Such an enjoyable way to start each day. The best meals we had in Woodstock were the meals at the inn. Every day between 4:30-5:30 we were offered a glass of wine. We enjoyed our wine on the beautiful terrace surrounded by flowers, a fountain and beautifully landscaped gardens. The second day we were treated to a complimentary cheese tray. I highly recommend this inn. The only negative is the bathroom light which is paired with a noisy fan. Not what you want to hear when your relaxing in the tub, but with no light it was too dark.

Yelp
We enjoyed a delightful two-night stay here in late June. Our hostess, Evelyn, was quite welcoming, and the inn is a lovely, rambling, three-story bed and breakfast. Our room on the top floor was small (#7) but immaculately clean and bright. Even better, the bed was unusually comfortable--we really slept well. The Inn serves a three-course, freshly prepared breakfast starting at 8, and it is delicious and most attractively presented. In addition, you are invited you dine at your own private table. We were especially fond of the darkly handsome bar where we were treated to a free glass of wine in the afternoons and the covered porch, where we watched traffic go by on a rainy afternoon. Parking is conveniently adjacent to the Inn's side entrance. The Inn is a few blocks away from Woodstock's "downtown," so we had to drive instead of walking because of the rain. Evelyn also has lots of good suggestions for dining in the area. So why didn't we give the Inn five stars? Two things: one, there is no elevator, so we had to carry our bags up three flights of steps--you are forewarned. And two, for all her pleasantness, Evelyn wasn't up to providing us with some hot water for tea around 6 a.m. when we wanted it. She made it clear there is no interaction of guests prior to 8 a.m. Point taken, but a star taken off, too.

Christine M.

Yelp
Fantastic B&B. It's a stand out due to their attention to detail. The home is absolutely gorgeous, intoxicating to the eye. The breakfast can't be missed, consistent with their level of perfection. This has to be the best B&B I've ever had the pleasure of staying in. Paul and his partner are nothing less than charming, making you feel extremely welcomed. This is truly a labor of love and it shows in every corner of this unique Victorian. Great location, being centrally located to fun outings.

Danielle K.

Yelp
This review is long overdue. Was reminded because my boyfriend and I, almost a year later, still can't stop talking about how much we enjoyed our stay. We stayed at The Village Inn of Woodstock last winter and it couldn't have been more wonderful -- thoughtfully designed, beautiful, cozy, welcoming, clean. Amazing breakfast. Amazing hosts (they are so nice and pleasant to talk to!). A great and thoughtful touch, every afternoon guests get a free glass of wine and homemade cookies! We never missed it. :-) The tavern was my favorite nook of the inn, loved the look. Plus, great location -- super close to town (can easily walk). We plan to stay here again -- found our go-to Woodstock spot!

Courtney D.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for two nights this past weekend. Upon arrival, Paul welcomed us as we walked in and checked us in. We were asked what time we wanted to come down for our breakfast as well as our coffee/tea preference. The week prior Paul had been kind enough to call and make our reservation at Simon Pearce for Saturday night (as part of the Simon Pearce package). We asked for recommendations for dinner that evening (Friday) and he provided two great recommendations as well as a few places we could get a drink after. We went to the Worthy kitchen (yum!) and then the Woodstock Inn for a drink. Our room (#9) was clean and the perfect size for a weekend stay. It had a sound machine in it which was an amazing added touch to drown out any street noise or guest noise, although there wasn't too much of either. Our bathroom was nice and clean, the shower was marble tiled and a great size. Our first morning, we came down for breakfast at 9:30 and enjoyed the most amazing home cooked meal. Homemade cinnamon bun cake, fresh squeezed chilled OJ and fruit to start followed by our entree - i chose poached eggs (which were cooked perfectly) as well as english muffin toasting bread (made onsite) and bacon. Luis is an amazing chef - everything was delicious, fresh and perfectly prepared and the woman who served us was wonderful as well - she kept our coffee cups filled! We hiked the Faulkner trail and went to Harpoon for beers and lunch during the day. Dinner at Simon Pearce that night was amazing. Our second morning we had to leave earlier than expected since our kids at home were sick and the entire staff was SO accommodating and wonderful. They got our delicious breakfast right out to us within 15 minutes. They were so kind and wonderful. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Inn and would recommend it to our friends and family!

Jean C.

Yelp
I had the best weekend at this place. We were in town for a wedding and it was the perfect place to stay. Very quaint and delightful decorations. The staff was so so nice and accommodating. We were only able to have breakfast one day and ordered the Belgian waffles and eggs over easy and both were delicious. We were also given fruit and cinnamon bread with our breakfast. They had patios and porch areas to relax. It was also in walking distance to the little town of Woodstock which was very convenient. Perfect little weekend getaway.

Yelp
Wow talks about a quaint amazing inn! The ambiance a long is to die for !! It's def a great spot for a romantic getaway! The rooms the bar The dining area are all cozy and amazing !! The two ppl that run the place are awesome!!! Must stay

Yelp
Perfection is hard to come by and I am a huge proponent of the phrase "Nobody is perfect, there is always room for improvement." However, I can honestly say that Evelyn has created the perfect environment at the Village Inn of Woodstock. From the time that you arrive until the time that you depart, you are smiling from ear to ear. We arrived late, due to traffic coming from Boston and Evelyn was there at 8 PM with open arms. She showed us around the inn, checked us in, and recommended where we should eat for the night. The next day she was extremely helpful with directions to Killington Mountain and was able to provide us with wine glasses and an opener when we mistakenly forgot our own. The room was beautiful; the elegant style was seen around the inn. We stayed in room number 5 with a private sitting room, fire place, Jacuzzi tub, and king size bed. The bed was extremely comfortable and I do not think I have slept that well in months!! The room was also super clean. By the time we were finished with breakfast in the morning, the room was already cleaned, with the bed made and chocolates placed on the table! Breakfast is served every morning between 8:00-9:30; we chose to eat at 9AM so that we could sleep a little later. She asks your coffee or tea preference at check-in and our coffee cups were never empty. She was there to refill our glasses before I could even see the bottom of the cup! Breakfast was a three course meal every day. First, you have a fruit. The warm cinnamon bananas she made were delicious! Next, a homemade pastry made by Evelyn. Finally, the entry of Quiche the first day and Belgian waffles the second. If you did not like the main course, you could choose to have eggs cooked to your preference with sausage, bacon, and toast! She was so accommodating. Overall, it was a great weekend. The inn was beautiful and it was just the weekend escape we needed from the city. It is located within 5 minute walk of all the restaurants in Woodstock. I would highly recommend it to anyone who asks--it is worth the price.

Yelp
BEWARE: The owner/Innkeeper, Evelyn, here is mean and ugly underneath her "kind" fasade and booking a room and having it CONFIRMED does not guarantee that they will hold it for you. Last week, I called the inn and booked a room seven months in advance for the fall season, and my stay was conformed and a cc was collected. Almost a week later, I received an email from the owner, that was sent about 4 days after my confirmation, that the room I booked was not available and that I should go to the website and book other nights. NO apologies, no dismay, no remorse, no nothing. She literally just ruined my holiday plans, that you would think a phone call at least would have more suitable then an email in such an urgent situation. Needless to say, by the time I received the email, no other rooms in the timeframe I was visiting were available! When I called, I spoke to Evelyn, and explained to her that the room was confirmed by her staff and I already made my travel plans, she showed no compassion for my situation and was not the least apologetic for her staffs MAJOR mistake. She went on to imply that because the cc was never charged, that somehow they were not responsible for this mistake and implied it was my fault! I explained to her that a mistake at this grandeur level should have at least deserved an immediate callback, but instead she choose to email me? When I explained my frustrations, my now inability to book a room, because like many inns like theirs, they are already booked for high season, she began to focus on her own feelings and dismiss mine. As a business owner, I WOULD NEVER make my clients feel like my mistake was theirs and this is how she made me feel. She was argumentative, loud, and very UNKIND about this mess. She offered me no solution, and made me, a customer, feel like this was my fault not hers. Simply based off of this situation, I would NOT recommend anyone staying here ever, though this may be a nice inn, it a representation of her true nature, and we sometime in life have to ask ourselves what kind of people we really want to support and empower. For me it will always be the good ones, and sorry folks, they are NOT found here, atleast not in Evelyn. Shame on you, Evelyn!

Mike D.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful place to go! I brought my wife there for a getaway to celebrate her birthday. The Inn was fantastic and the owners Evelyn and Dave were extremely helpful and accommodating. We loved the food that was prepared with local farm fresh ingredients.

Cam H.

Yelp
Stayed here on a recent trip through Vermont and New Hampshire. Have never been so impressed with a B&B and its owners. Great inn, beautifully decorated throughout. The best part is absolutely the bar downstairs. Very nice, old rooms and the place is surrounded by gardens and patio area. David and Evelyn, the owners, could not be any nicer. They made us all kinds of drinks and food in the evening, called a restaurant down the street to get us in late after the kitchen had closed, and made a great multiple course breakfast in the morning. They went above and beyond to make it a great stay. Will absolutely be staying here on my next trip through and would recommend to anyone staying in the area.

Yelp
We loved this beautiful inn. The owner and her team of helpers are warm and wonderful, going out of their way to assure a pleasant stay. The homemade breakfasts using local suppliers were absolutely delicious. The inn is clean, comfortable and conveniently located and has a charming garden where guests can sit and enjoy the burbling fountain as they watch the birds. This inn is cozy and homey in a way larger establishments and chain hotels can never be. We would definitely stay here again. If you had a six-star option, this inn would get it.

Yelp
After my wedding in November my husband and I took a "mini-honeymoon" to Montreal. We decided to break up the trip home and stay in VT for one night at an Inn that my mother recommended. From the moment we walked in the door we loved this place. The Inn-keepers Evelyn and David are two of the friendliest people I've ever met and make you feel at home. The rooms are beautiful. The town is so cute and there is quite a bit to do! We were so impressed with everything that we booked a second night right there because we didn't want to leave! They serve a 3-course homemade breakfast in the morning that is to die for. I highly recommend The Village Inn for anyone looking to get away for a romantic weekend!! We are going back for our anniversary.

Yelp
We have been staying here every year since 2007. The breakfast is so yummy and filling that you never have to eat lunch. Evelyn and David have created a real gem in the heart of Woodstock. Stop by the bar for a drink before going to dinner. David makes a mean cocktail! You cannot go wrong staying here.

Yelp
Super friendly and warm environment. Delicious, creative, and beautifully-plated breakfasts everyday. Complimentary daily happy hour. Stunning, ornate, and well-outfitted rooms!

Yelp
A fabulous B&B, definitely recommend for anyone staying in the Woodstock area on a cold, snowy evening. The room was amazing and comes with a real fireplace. Not a better B&B in Vermont or New England. Don't forget to visit (and eat) at the Simon-Pearce glass factory & restaurant, it is excellent.

Yelp
What a special place! Evelyn was such a wonderful hostess and the Village Inn of Woodstock is absolutely spectacular --- every detail was well conceived and implemented. The result was a few days of being treated like a king in a tasteful and extremely well decorated and furnished Inn. I have to mention the breakfasts. Clearly, pride is at stake here. Home made breads, fruit dishes, and pancakes, waffles, and my favorite 2-min. eggs. Everything was perfect.

Yelp
We spent one night in Woodstock, and after getting exhausted by all the options for lodging, we decided to just pull into the Village Inn and stay there. Decision made. It was a perfect evening. Right off the bat, we were greeted with a complimentary happy hour glass of wine from Evelyn. Our room on the third floor was fantastic. We had our own lovely bathroom, but even the shared ones down the hall, were beautiful. Not too often do you pop into a bathroom to marvel at it! We were cozy and comfortable in our room. The breakfast in the morning was delicious/top notch. They run a tight ship and love what they do. I would highly recommend staying here!

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights during our honeymoon. This place is definitely the nicest B&B I've ever been to. They thought of every detail and made us feel completely comfortable during our stay. My favorite aspects of the B&B are: the cozy romantic rooms, the soft, feather-topped beds, the incredible home-made breakfasts, and the cute surrounding town. They definitely charge a bit more than other B&Bs, but they sure deliver! I am dying to go back here for our anniversary one of these years!

Yelp
Beautiful and let me just say simply amazing! I travel frequently and I never felt so at home then I did here. Evelyn and Dave were very welcoming and amazing toward us. Our room was upgraded by Evelyn to room #5! I was SO very happy with this. She had surprised us when we were having some wine at the bar. I will defiantly be coming back here for future visits. I highly recommend staying here.

Yelp
Evelyn and David are the perfect hosts for this quintessential Vermont bed and breakfast. Evelyn greeted us as we arrived and her warmth and genuineness was unmatched. The inn was thoughtfully and impeccably furnished and reflected its history. Our room, #5, was a series of three small rooms-a sitting room, bathroom area and bedroom. All were spotless and the rooms again reflected the architecture of the late 19th century. Breakfast was homemade, locally sourced and exceptional. It too was thoughtfully prepared, from the coffee to the fresh squeezed juice and fruit cup, followed by homemade muffins, and then the breakfast entree of your choice. The farm eggs were delicious and cooked perfectly to our request. Tammy, who helped with breakfast, was as warm and attentive as Evelyn. Sipping a complimentary glass of wine in the beautiful gardens added to the inn's charm. This would be our first choice to stay in Woodstock.

Yelp
My husband and I recently took a 2 day trip to Woodstock, VT. We decided to choose a bed and breakfast for a relaxing trip. The breakfast served was absolutely delicious, and the owners were very welcoming and helpful. The room was very comfortable, we slept well. We were also a walking distance from downtown. Overall we had a great visit!

Yelp
Beautifully furnished Victorian Bed and Breakfast in an absolutely charming village. Located within walking distance to the shops and restaurants but also a great location for driving through the mountains and enjoying the sights of Vermont and the rest of New England. But the best of all might be the breakfast served each morning and the hospitality extended by Evelyn and David. Everything is absolutely first class! Stay there and I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Thank you Evelyn and David!

Yelp
My fiancé and I are from Boston and decided to get away from the city and spend two nights in Woodstock for New Years. We researched a few resorts and bed and breakfast and we choose to stay at The Village Inn based on the beautiful pictures of the rooms we saw online, the price in comparison to other resorts and the inclusive breakfast. We arrived on new Years eve, greeted by our host Evelyn and Dave and instantly felt at home. Even though we arrived late and missed happy hour we were still treated to a glass of bubbly upon our arrival. The house is absolutely lovely and quintessential New England. We stayed in room 2. The room is very nicely decorated. Bed is very comfortable and we really enjoyed the fireplace. Breakfast was amazing! We had fruits, quiche, waffles, sausage and banana cake, and some other yumminess. There was a lot of food so I can't even remember the whole menu. Evelyn suggested great places for us to see in town and even gave us some suggestions for a trip we have planned to Europe. For New Years Eve we had dinner at Red Roaster at Woodstock Inn Resort and went to Bentleys for drinks and the countdown. I left the Inn hoping to come back. This os our 2nd bed and breakfast and Evelyn and Dave made our mini vacation so much better than we expected. I would highly recommend this place ! ** Incase additional info is important to you when reading reviews we are in our 30s, we are adventurous, we enjoy dancing and dining and many outdoor activities but we also enjoy a quiet and relaxing place like Woodstock. We are low key, low maintenance, not food snobs but appreciate and enjoy dinning at nice places.

Yelp
We had a superb mini-vacation at The Village Inn in Woodstock VT, in no small part to our fabulous Innkeeper, Evelyn. Her attention to detail was incredible........from the best breakfasts ever to our spotless room to our darling server Deanna to the cozy front porches all in addition to the charm of the town itself. Without reservation we wholeheartedly can recommend this charmingly Victorian B & B!!

Yelp
I just wrote a long review but Yelp lost it so. I'll just say, I loved this place. We have stayed all over the world the and I tied this place with the best. Food, garden, rooms, bar, it was OUTSTANDING!
