Great little restaurant and not far from the shores of Luss. Parking is available nearby in the public car park and it is paid for. We had haggis fritters for starters. I had the cheesey macaroni with bacon, it was lovely. Others had the haddock which was very big and the cheeseburger which looked great too. Local beers available by the pint and I had a bottle of Estrella 0% beer too.

Amazing food. The vegetarian selection was excellent and every dish was splendid. The portion sizes were very generous and Arelene was so polite and kind.

Stopped in for a cooked breakfast. Solo visitor. Arrived at opening time but it wasn’t long before it started getting busy. Lovely place, nice decor, lovely atmosphere. Friendly, happy staff. Food was very nice and toilets exceptionally clean. The cakes on display looked so amazing,

We stopped at Luss on the way to the Highlands on probably the only sunny day of the summer for food. We quickly found the village rest. It was busy and there was a queue to enter but within 10 minutes we were given the option to sit inside or out. We were seated inside and placed our order. There was a good selection of home cooked style food. The food was good, and filling. Prices were a little high but it was a good experience and we would visit again.

Google
Lovely, Lovely place. Cakes and Scones looked amazing. Breakfast wasn't the best ever had, bit dry and smallish for "Full Scottish". But the service was soo Lovely, 2 young ppl looking after us were absolutely amazing. I bet it would be nicer if we've gone for afternoon tea rather than Breakfast but still, really nice spot x

I came here in February and had the best burger I’ve ever had in my life. I think about this meal every day. I will be back one day, please be open 😆 (coffee was amazing, place spotless, staff soo nice, cosy vibes, 10/10)

We went for tea last night after being turned away from the Colquhan (apparently fully booked but loads of tables free). Anywho, Ian looked after us with the charm of a gentleman and the wit of a cheeky sailor. Delicious food. We have just returned for breakfast and Linda has been bloody lovely, friendly as you like. 5 star service. 10/10 would recommend.

We stopped off in the village on the way to Fort William, as it was lunchtime we thought we would give the village rest a try. The menu has a bit of everything for everyone. The restaurant has a few outdoor tables and inside tables, as the weather was hit and miss we decided for a table inside. Service was quick and efficient and the food arrived in good time. Scampi, baked potato, bacon burger and chicken goujons were on the menu for us. All very nice and everyone was happy. One comment from me would be that hot plates would be nice. When we left there was a queue of people outside so get in early is my recommendation.

Yelp
We stopped by here during our Europe trip and this place has some amazing food. Delicious and delicious tasty! Ambiance is nice for the family, and service was top notch. We had fish sticks, and chilli con carne were delicious! Don't forget to try their chocolate cheesecake with vanilla ice cream!

Yelp
What a great little find! Nice people and fast service and the food, while simple, was exceptional. M wife had the mushroom soup and salad and I had the steak and mushroom pie. Excellent!

Yelp
It's a good place for having a break. It's a dog friendly restaurant. the beef burger and codfish wrap tasted so good. Unfortunately, forgot to take photos.

Yelp
Couldn't have been better. Stopped in for a quick lunch of macron & cheese for me & curried parsnip soup for my wife. Service was friendly & efficient. The food was delightful & well priced......and the restrooms were spotless.

Yelp
A quick and easy stop in beautiful Luss. The food was on point and if you're American you'll be thrilled to know they have fountain sodas! A true Scottish miracle.

Yelp
Good food selection. I had the chilli beef burger and it was yummy. Very cute shop and the service was average, but that may just be the way it is here in this country. The inside was decorated nicely and fun. Great for larger groups. Worth a visit.

Yelp
I was here on Vacation visiting Scotland and stumbled on this place on the way to Oban. Had a haggis egg sandwich which is by far the best haggis sandwich I had in Scotland. Maybe because it was super fresh and still steaming when I bit into it. Coffee is killer also and definitely a must get.

Yelp
Quick review. Flew in to Scotland from Ireland on the second part of our Vacation. We are from the US. Rented a car and had a three hour drive ahead of us so we decided to stop. This is Nestled off the highway on the banks of Loch Lomond. Order the Chili and Beef Pie. Absolutely amazing. Love it. Customer service is great as well despite being super busy. A++++++ We are coming back on our way back. :) Thank you for a great experience.

Yelp
Lovely little cafe in Luss Village with quite a varied menu and is also licensed. We were passing tonight and decided to sit outside and have a wee drink before heading home and it was just lovely. You can go in and order at the bar and then bring your drinks outside or you can also order food as all the tables outside are numbered. There is a small area at the back of the cafe that sells gifts and cards. Definetly a must visit when in the area.

Yelp
A real nice wee independent coffee shop in the village of Luss. Nicely decorated with plenty of seating area inside & out. Friendly & chatty staff. Decent tasting coffee & pretty reasonable prices. Freshly baked scones on display with cakes & ice cream. Definitely a recommendation to visit this place if you ever pass through Luss.

Yelp

Yelp
The wife and me had dinner here on the second night of our stay in Luss and the second night of avoiding our own hotel's ridiculously overpriced menu. The Village Rest looks great on the outside; small, charming and (to use a Gordon Ramsay soundbite) rustic! As expected the menu offering was simple fare, which was fine by us. I had fish and chips while Julie had mac n cheese. At £9.45 for mac n cheese, I thought it was a wee bit expensive. The fish and chips was okay and nothing more; I don't think the fish was all that fresh and given that the place is literally three minutes walk from the Loch lomond shoreline is pretty unforgivable. That being said, service was good and the location made eating a pleasurable experience.

Yelp
Such a cute and delicious little find!!! Well worth 5 stars! The two ladies working were quick to serve us, were extremely polite, and overall were outstanding. We had the Full English Breakfast, a fruit scone, and Americanos. We've lived in the UK for 2 years and this was the first restaurant that served an incredible breakfast and coffee! Definitely recommend this!

Yelp
Visiting Scotland for the first time, we ventured north to Luss on a day trip from Glasgow and tried The Village Rest for a late breakfast. The restaurant opened at 10am and we were told that the scones were not going to be ready until after 11. Seems like they could prepare the scones in advance for the breakfast shift, no? We placed our orders and had a couple changes to make not one minute later and were told "great, the chef is going to love this." When our egg and bacon "rolls" arrived (a delicious sunny side up egg on a plain McDonalds style sesame bun), the waitress had forgotten one and had to place a new order for us. On top of this, she was irritatingly insistent on the "ladies first" policy and would not even let a man speak (was trying to inquire for a drinks menu for the table) until all the ladies have been spoken to. Poor service, poor food selection, weird vibes... I suppose the eggs were fine. Try the Coach House Coffee Shop instead.

Yelp
This cafe was the bomb! Very charming cafe in a very charming village. The wait staff was very attentive, the food was excellent, and the owners Ian and Kevin were very nice and engaging. We went in for breakfast, and I had the Full Scottish Breakfast. Yummy! Luckily, I was hungry, because it was a lot of food. The black pudding, ham, potatoes, all very good! It's located on the main street leading into the village. Great to stop in before and after a day in the "Loveliest Village in Scotland". Can not recommend this place enough.

Yelp
Quickly becoming a family tradition at Xmas, we took the short journey from Glasgow to Luss between chrimbo and Hogmannay. This wee bistro is tucked away down one of the village side streets and is a bit of a tourist mecca. There's a really great value kids menu as well as standard fare pub type menu for perusal. This time I opted for the Broccoli and Cheddar soup with ploughman type sarnie (ham, cheddar, picle, salad, etc) on a rye bloomer. Sarnie was goo with the bread a lovely solid malty accompaniment. Maybe too much for lunch as a bit heavy when combined with the soup. Past visits I stuck to the house ham and lentil - knock out. This time the soup was cold - still tasty but a bit of a let down on a Scottish winter night. Around £40 quid with tip added on so make sure your appetite is whetted. To be fair that included our drinks but the kids menu is tasty (pinch their chicken goujons - better than the Colonels :)) and very cheap. All in all - decent return if hungry and usually very good quality at a city bistro price (but hey - it is a tourist trap so expect those prices).

Yelp
Really enjoyed the food here. Our family was traveling throughout the U.K. And wanted a nice place to eat in the mountains. The selection was good and the quality was very nice. Great service, pretty environment and good service.

Yelp
We stopped on a wet Sunday afternoon on our way back to Glasgow airport from Loch Awe. The place was busy, the staff were attentive. The late lunch of homemade cullen skink and a wonderful British afternoon tea of scone, cream and jam hit the spot. Lots of cream with the jam and a light fluffy scone....DEEP JOY! The place is a gem in a wonderful little village on the banks of Loch Lomand.....stop and also check out the new hotel down the road that is opening soon...it looked a great design. My only suggestion is that they need a 'meeter greeter' as the wait to be seated sign is a little impersonal and every client seemed to hover at the door until they were spotted by the staff.

Yelp
Stopped here for an early dinner while traveling back to our B&B. It was fairly empty at the time as it was not the usual dining time and it did fill up as we were leaving. The service was friendly and attentive. Our orders were taken pretty quickly and our food didn't take too long to arrive. We ordered the chicken, bacon, much room penne and battered haddock. Both were very delicious with sizable portions, which we unfortunately could not finish. Overall it was a great dining experience with great food. Highly recommend for anyone in Luss with a big appetite.

Yelp
Lovely little place. Good prices. Lovely staff friendly and efficient Would highly recommend. Our waitress was Julia. Lovely girl.

Yelp
A cute, unusual cafe in the heart of the conservation village. The food is very decent. It is a very bright, surprisingly large space, and pretty much the only place I've seen an actual advert selling a horse carriage. Random!

Yelp
We had dinner here the first night we were in Luss and had to return for breakfast the next morning. We just couldn't get enough! The steak and ale pie was to die for and the breakfast plate the next morning was loaded! Highly recommend!
