One of the highlights to our visit to Chincoteague Island in Virginia was our dinner at The Village. My daughter and her family came with us so we were able to sample a wide variety of the food. Favorites were the clam strips, shrimp (the coconut shrimp was particularly good) and the crab cakes. The Mahi Mahi was a little bland (should've gone with the blackened option) and the fried oysters were good but just good. Portions were nice sized with good tasting sides. Fresh bread was served at the beginning, still warm and soft. We had a friendly, helpful waitress - very conscientious. The atmosphere was comfortable and family friendly. The pricing was moderate, especially for a seafood experience. We all enjoyed it, from the 7 year old twins to the old people on the other end of the table!

We went there tonight without a reservation.. they seated us anyhow very quickly. Our server, Maddie, was awesome... she helped us m as ke our dinner selections and was very attentive to our needs. The food was served quickly and was very good. We will return the next time we are in the area

We come down to Chincoteague and Assateague in the Spring and Fall for the wildlife on the Refuge and for the great seafood. There are few options on this quiet (during the off season) island that offer great dining experiences. This is one of maybe 3 and is a MUST for anyone looking for great dining. The location is perfect and the service is professional, timely and friendly. They know their menu. The Sauteed Seafood Platter with 7 (seven!) seafoods (White Fish, Shrimp, Scallops, Clams, Scallops, Crab and Lobster Tail) was mind boggling. I just looked at it for a while. During the off season, please check their days/hours of operation.

Google
We didn’t have reservations but they accommodated us despite it being super busy so we appreciated that. Started off with the clam casino which was AMAZING. We split crab cakes and it’s definitely the best we’ve had so far on the island. Much more crab meat than we expected! Great value for their food and the service was excellent.

Google
The NY Strip Steak, Blackened Flounder, and Seafood Stuffed Tomato were all excellent and I highly recommend them. The Vegetable Stir-fry with Scallops added not so much as it lacked the variety of vegetables found in typical stir-fry and ended up being a bowl of mainly rice and green beans with a couple of scallops. The service was great and they were very accommodating to someone with a shellfish alergy in our party. Reservations were easy and they even answered their phone and answered our questions and took our reservations during non open hours on the same day. We were sat in a timely manner. I highly recommend The Village!

Google
Good food but VERY small portions and pricey. I left hungry and much lighter in the wallet. Portions were what I would consider lunch sized. Even the vegetable side was meager. Look at this and you tell me if worth $35.

Google
Simple, no frills family dining establishment with super friendly staff. A tad on the expensive side in terms of portions but I didn’t leave hungry. Ordered the stuffed tomatoes with seafood and it was very good. Sides chosen were a baked potato and slaw that was too sweet for my liking so I didn’t eat it. Came to $36 with tip for 1 person, no drinks or dessert. I would dine there again but not for a special occasion or anything.

I honestly have never had a bad meal at this place. The service at least with reservations were prompt courteous and good humor. The food while not always 5 star has always at least been 4 star, Fresh, clean, tasty, it's not over seasoned nor over/under cooked, they let the seafood speak for itself, and well prepared. I haven't had dessert here in a long time as we always eat ice cream at The island creamery. It can be a bit loud but not overly so. It tends to be cheaper than the other best place on the island, Bills.

Yelp
Dinner was delicious! We were recommended by the hotel staff and double checked here. The menu and specials have all types of seafood. We had raw oysters, bacon wrapped scallops and seafood delight. All well done and fresh, I wish there were other options to go with the oysters like mignonette sauce. Our server, Ricky was great. It seemed like a family run place and the staff knew many of the patrons. Made for a great night.

Meghan K.

Yelp
I wish I could give this restaurant a higher rating but I can't. I went here three times and had issues with the food and service 2/3 times. The food tasted good but the portions weren't as big as I'd hoped, especially for the price. The service was hit or miss as well. There aren't many options for restaurants on Chincoteague island so I hope I have a better experience the next time I visit this restaurant.

Casey Mae D.

Yelp
Super good from service to apps, to entrees and atmosphere in general. The Chincoteague oysters were impressively good (considering it's not an "r" month) I also had the crab soup and the crab imperial special. I will be back next time to come to Chincoteague.

Ravindra D.

Yelp
The food is pretty good and so is the service. We went on a Saturday night and it was pretty busy. They bring a big loaf of bread for the table. It was good, but not great. Could have had more crust. I had the steak and baked potato and the salad. The steak was good, but not great. My spouse had the crab imperial stuffed shrimp with french fries and she really liked it. Service was good and the portions were large. If the bread and the steak had been better it would be a five star.

Yelp
We went the day before our 25th wedding anniversary Vow renewal. It was not a great experience. After placing my order, maybe 20 minutes later they told me they were out of the dish that I ordered And in the same breath They said everyone else's food would be right out. We told them not to deliver everyone's food until mine was ready. My meal came with a salad which I never got. And the fish that I ordered was supposed to come with a side dish of green beans and that also never came. Lastly, I ordered dessert as did everyone else at the table and it was all delivered except for mine. Took about 10 minutes to get the waitress to come back and then everyone had eaten their dessert. Well, my friends encouraged me not to tip at all. I did leave 20% although the service was really terrible.

Michael S.

Yelp
I'm writing this now because quite frankly I forgot the whole experience. I was invited out the other day and one of the options was the village... It reminded me of not only a poor dining experience but that I had not left a review... Here it is. We got there around 8ish in mid July. We were the only people in the restaurant. Years ago I had a really good experience at the village on several occasions. We ordered and the first 2 things i asked for were not available. We ordered and people started cleaning the dining room around us. I felt we were getting the bums rush. I could hear them in the lobby area complaining about us finishing up... Needless to say I wont be back. The food was marginal the service was crap. I certainly did not feel like a valued customer.

Kelli M.

Yelp
Another great dinner at the village. Went as a hungry party of 6 for a 7pm reservation. We started with bbq shrimp, oysters, onion rings, crab balls and coconut shrimp(they're huge). Everything was delicious besides the crab balls seemed bland to me but weren't bad when dipped in the sauce they came in. I had the special- stuffed rockfish it had shrimp, scallops and crab imperial inside. Other people got filet mignon, fried oysters, and two penne pasta with scallops.

Kimberly S.

Yelp
A lovely place right on the water with incredible views! Friendly hostess and wait staff will take care of you. Be sure to make reservations! Traditional seafood fare, done right and done fresh. We come here at least once every time we're in Chincoteague.

Makaylah S.

Yelp
If i could leave a review at 0 stars I absolutely would. We came all the way from COLORADO to visit here with family, and this was a wild disappoint from start to finish. We understand being busy, or even small mistakes but this was terrible service all around pick somewhere else. AND THERE WAS A HAIR IN OUR FOOD. Came in at 8 (packed) seated at 8:27, no water... and no server showed up til 8:45, and NO food until after 9:31 pm. I asked hostess and owner? What happened and was told its simply due to their poor organization... as they do not have sections for their servers, causing us to be forgotten with a hungry baby present. Everyone around us were served and we were seated in an empty place without getting food until we were getting ready to just leave. Then the blonde hair in our only food happened. I hope yall ignore this place as they can't handle dinner rush.

Fran D.

Yelp
Food was fantastic. The place was extremely busy and everyone was very friendly and they communicated well regarding our place on the waitlist list. Bartender made good drinks. Definitely will go back.

Karanja S.

Yelp
Good food & drinks with excellent service. Soft shell crabs and Stuffed flounder were delicious.

Christina S.

Yelp
We hadn't been here since our bad experience in 2022 but we wanted to give it another try. The portions are small for how much they charge and you only get one side. $28 for a piece of half-cooked fish and a small salad is insanity. If you want other sides it's an up charge. The service was terrible, we waited forever for drink refills, soups were served with salads crowding our table, and our server only gave us two options for dessert while other tables were given four options. We ended up having to pay for our tab up front because our server disappeared into the kitchen for the night. Would not recommend for the price

Anna E.

Yelp
Incredible softshell stuffed crab, great view, attentive staff, fair pricing, welcoming to kids!

Amanda H.

Yelp
Our large family of 6 walked in at 7p. We were greeted with friendly and happy to see us kind of hospitality. Our server Kara was just as friendly and caring! We felt like we had set down at her dinner table at home. The food was amazing! From our bloody Mary's to our lobster tails and fried scallops everything was perfect! We can't thank them enough for making our last night out while on vacation a memorable one!

Gayle M.

Yelp
Always had a good meal here. Husband's crab imperial was reportedly very good; he enjoyed his meal. The coleslaw sat in way too much slaw dressing; I like it a little dryer. However, the tomato and zucchini side was very good. The special was stuffed rockfish which I suspect was from frozen, not fresh. Had a poor quality taste. It was topped with overcooked shrimp and scallops. The typical cop out on the menu was "market price." Since it was a special, and as with other restaurants I've been, I assume they offer a reasonable price. Imagine my surprise when the bill came:$36-for a very poor-quality dish. I always like to consider the specials as I assume they are fresh ingredients which are plentiful for that time. The service was very good; we did not have to wait long for our meal. The place was busy and we had to wait 10 minutes to be seated. But, given we were there at post season and the restaurant has a good reputation, we were not surprised. The dining room is nice and clean with a view of the marsh on one side.

Shari C.

Yelp
Staff were very nice and waiter was great. Seafood platter was $38 and very overcooked... I wouldn't recommend. Pain Killer was fruit juice. Outside atmosphere great but bring your bug spray!

David P.

Yelp
Got the large Seafood Platter, fried. Came with a Maine lobster tail, generous sized crab cake, fried oysters, shrimp, fish scallops. Got fries & slaw for sides. Everything was excellent. I got it carry out. Quite the mob scene picking it up. Could barely stand Will the hordes of folks waiting to put their name in for a table or waiting for one. I was a bit assertive letting the staff know I was there for carry out. Took an extra 10 minutes than promised on the phone to get my food. Not surprised as busy as they were. They were very pleasant. Gave a five star review. My only complaint the Yelp menu hasn't been updated. Listed the Seafood Platter at $31, was $39. That's a 25% misrepresentation. Not that uncommon unfortunately when using Yelp. So one star for Yelp :( Still it was plenty to feed the wife & I. I'd go back and order it again... take out. I don't need a crowded restaurant on vacation.

Yelp
Realized as i am enjoying my leftovers that i never posted my review so this from this weekend... Oh my goodness... we had the pleasure of enjoying a meal with our friend and neighbor who doesn't get out much anymore. I don't know what was better; the conversation or the look on his face and hearing him say Several times how these where the BEST soft crabs he's ever had! I ordered the same and totally agree!!! We enjoyed the stuffed soft crab special!! They were amazing!! I just ate my 3rd one now and heated up in the air fryer made me feel like i was back there on the island!! The cook was accommodating and only lightly breaded the ones for me (gluten issues), the bread smelled amazing and hubby was eager to bring what little was left home! They carry my favorite wine, the coleslaw was delicious, baked potato cooked to perfection! If anyone wants to impress a boss or family member visiting the island, THIS IS THE PLACE! But don't worry even if seafood isn't your "thing" there are so many other options! My Hub loves a good salad and too was not disappointed! Added some grilled chicken to it and wow I'm surprised he was able to finish it all in one meal! Service was fast and friendly!! Atmosphere is pure island charm!! Beautifully decorated!!! Reservations suggested at least until October You wont be disappointed!!

Yelp
Want to feel like an unwelcomed out-of-towner?  Then come here.  We had a reservation for 2 and still waited 20 minutes to get seated while we saw walk-ins get ecorted to tables.  The experience was like being back in high school where everyone knew each other and the in-crowd frowned upon the goths.  But, this was our mistake coming here.  The level of service was definitely inferior and immature as we were escorted to our table by a teenager. Regarding the food, we would not label it "cuisine". Broiling scallops is lazy and a sin...why restaurants don't sear them on a hot skillet is truly unbelievable. Additionally, the crab cakes were more cake than crab. Don't expect the little things, any nuance, anything novel or any tlc...everything they have here you can get at most fairly priced restaurants in the area or elsewhere (try driving 50 minutes to Island House in Wachapreague for a classier establishment). My partner and I were still magnanimous by tipping 20% to the staff because it isn't due to the hired staff that this restaurant has turned out this way.

Riley C.

Yelp
My family and I were just there for food and it was the best. Bacon Wrapped Scallops were amazing. I had stir fry with shrimp, it was phenomenal. waitress was the best, funny, and kind. They sung Happy Birthday to my grandmother, it was very cool. I would recommend the Village, but if they're busy, be prepared to wait.

James L.

Yelp
We visited the Village for our anniversary and enjoyed sitting outside overlooking the marsh. Our Server was very attentive and energetic. Portions were not huge but were satisfying . Overall it was a great experience

Erin O.

Yelp
I forgot to grab any photos! Our first time to town and picked this place randomly and where very happy with our decision. They where quite busy but able to sneak us in as a 2 top. I got the bread with my entree and let me tell you I could eat a loaf of this bread every day it was so light and yummy. I got the stuffed shrimp broiled and there was so much crab Florentine you couldn't even see the shrimp and it was absolutely delicious. Husband got crab cake and scallop special and also loved his food. Waitress was very friendly and wonderful service especially with how busy they where.

Todd P.

Yelp
The best meal I have ever had at a restaurant. The people were superb. We drove 4hrs to come here for vacay. We will be back for more * After tonight's food I feel as though I need to add more, just this, GO EAT HERE-DON'T LOOK AROUND

Victoria S.

Yelp
Fresh, local seafood with an incredible view. We both enjoyed everything at Village Restaurant - it even came served with a huge fresh loaf of bread. My husband devoured the entire thing and loved every bite of it. Pro Tip - Call in advance and make reservations, even if it's same day. They get busy as there aren't many dining options open on the island. Huge bonus points - My husband left his credit card and they had it waiting for us when we realized the mistake the next day.

Janet G.

Yelp
Love the Village Restauran!! Live on the island but, refuse to go in the summer, too crowded! We take visitors there and everyone has loved it. They have a burger night on Wednesday and started a steak night on Fridays. Since I'm not a fan of seafood, but eat shrimp. My steak was good with baked potato and green beans. Husband and granddaughter had the mani mani and being from Hawaii, they loved it. Son in law had clam chowder and a large Caesar salad. Little guys had cheese pizza and shrimp. Food was great, service was great I highly recommend. t

Roseann B.

Yelp
Had a wonderful mahi mahi dinner at the Village last Saturday. We celebrated a friends birthday. Adult beverages were excellent. Looking forward to returning.

Rosemary P.

Yelp
Fabulous service! Candi our server was a pleasure and so fun to chat with. The hostess was so great to squeeze us in on a crowded Friday night. We will definitely be back next time we are in town!

Hunter S.

Yelp
Ate here for dinner and ordered the coconut shrimp and they were amazing! My partner ordered the surf and turf and that was also incredible but made sure to order steak medium rare to get it served medium. Our waitress was very nice, just a little bit of a wait to get our food, so eat bread slow. The restaurant was clean which is always a plus!

Rob N.

Yelp
Great food good service and very nice daily specials. This is a place worth going to to have a nice meal and meet up with friends to catch up

Pat G.

Yelp
Despite being sat next to some not-so-pleasant guests, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal at The Village Restaurant. We got the Ahi Tuna to start (encrusted with sesame seeds and flash-blackened and served over a bed of seaweed salad) which was delicious. For our entrees we both ordered the Surf and Turf - the steak was cooked to order (medium rare) but my lobster was overcooked and mushy (my date's was cooked well though; both were fresh). The Crab Imperial was probably my favorite item of the three - it wasn't lump but there weren't any fillers either. I also enjoyed that they served the Surf and Turf with a few onion rings as a nice sort of edible garnish. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating - even though a few of the guests were rude while waiting for their tables/reservations (and our accompanying table mates, not withstanding). I would definitely return to this place next time I'm in town.

Tricia L.

Yelp
Three iof us arrived about 6:30 on a Tuesday evening and they were already packed with a 90 minute wait. They took our number and said come back at 8: the bread 00, if we get a table before then we will call you. We arrived back about 7:30, there was still a long list of people waiting but we were seated in about 15 minutes. We ordered a couple of appetizers and each ordered an entree. The Oysters Rockefeller was awesome, as were the BBQ shrimp and Oysters on the half shell. The vegetable appetizer was grilled Brussel sprouts and while the overall flavor was good, they needed a little more time cooking they were somewhat harder than normal. Our entrees of seafood platter, crab cakes and flounder were great. I highly recommend, don't leave the island without a meal here! The bread was soft and delicious, the slaw was the best I've ever had and the service was friendly.

Mark C.

Yelp
During the off season, they are only open on the weekends. Once the weather alerts warmer, they will open all week long. Takes both cash and credit card. Tons of free parking at the restaurant. In terms of pricing, it's fairly good. Not too expensive. We came here on a weekend and it appears that this is a great spot for birthdays and parties. The servers were extremely busy and it will take some time for your server to take your order / refill your drinks. We also ordered the oyster Rockefeller and it comes cooked. Order the oysters on half shell instead. It's raw and better tasting. We ordered their veggie stir fry which we thought was overpriced especially for what you get. Unless you are vegan, I would avoid this dish. We ordered the broiled seafood platter which is large enough for 2-3 people. Each component is delicious and tasted fresh. The lobster tail was a bit on the smaller side, but okay for the money. We also ordered their oysters on half shell. This is well worth it and tasted pretty good and fresh. Consider ordering 2 orders of oysters as they do go out fast. They do have daily specials which is indicated on the front board which is updated periodically. Overall, definitely will come back in the future and try other

Dave W.

Yelp
Service was ok, the crab cakes and stuffed shrimp were over cooked and dry. Should have ordered broiled instead of fried. Frying oil tasted old.

Lucy B.

Yelp
The Village is always on point! We've been going here for decades during our vacations here and have yet to be disappointed. We love the new outside seating option, too. I would try to secure reservations if you don't want a lengthy wait for your table. With reservations, the wait is minimal and the service quick and efficient. They serve raw clams on the half shell here, a favorite of my Dad's. We've literally never gotten anything off the menu that we haven't liked. The sweet bread ahead of the meal is always tasty. And the kids meals are so generous!!!

Will W.

Yelp
We came here over labor day weekend, and were pretty lucky to get seated within 15 min for a table of 8. We saw a similar table of 8 not get seated for another 45 minutes though, since they arrived slightly after us. It's extremely busy, so plan ahead, especially for larger parties. Even though it was busy, we were slightly disappointed with the extremely long wait. We were a party of 8, and they gave us the same amount of bread as tables of 2. We waited at least 40 minutes for our food, even for the starter salads, which was ridiculous. They could have at least refilled our bread. However, the food is pretty good. They serve a decent amount in the platters, and they each come with two sides. My family got the soft shell crabs, the flounder stuffed with crab, and the seafood platter. The flounder is pretty average, and the soft shell crabs were definitely overfried. However, the seafood platter is amazing!!!! You get a good selection of seafood, which is all delicious (except for the unseasoned filet at the bottom). The scallops and shrimp are to die for. All in all, I wish we would've just gotten a seafood platter each. It would have been much better and maybe we would've gotten served faster. We won't be coming back though for a pretty average service experience.

Jennifer A.

Yelp
Consistently fabulous steamed shrimp. We look forward to coming here each year for their shrimp. Seasoned perfectly, tender and delicious. We arrive slightly before 5 in order to avoid the crowd and the wait. Great atmosphere, too windy to sit outside this year.

David Z.

Yelp
First time in Chincoteague on our minimoon trip. Went to Village on recommendation from concierge. We ordered steamed oysters and bacon wrapped scallops as starters. The oysters were fresh and huge. You could tell they were locally sourced. On the other hand, the scallops seemed frozen. For entree I ordered the blackened flounder with salad and coleslaw. I did not enjoy the seasoning on the flounder. Too overpowering of salt and spice. We sat outside overlooking the marsh. Beautiful view and evening with the breeze. Unfortunately, when the breeze stopped the mosquitoes came out to feast. Servers were attentive and pleasant. Overall, the place is okay but would not go back nor recommend. Bacon Wrapped Scallops

Eric L.

Yelp
Village restaurant has a nice atmosphere and saved us in this time of social distancing by letting us walk in and grab an outdoor table for a nice dinner. I had thought restaurants would be easier to walk into during this time of pandemic but that's definitely not the case because of socially distanced seating. Nearly every restaurant open in Chincoteague was busy and backed up. Village had friendly service and delicious food and drinks. Pretty good price to boot. The seafood platter was super fresh. No hint of fishiness at all. Delicious oyster though I wonder why they didn't serve it on a half shell... Perhaps to retain freshness. In either case they were easy to pry open. The shrimp, scallops and lobster tail were all great too. The fish fillet could have used a little bit more seasoning. Soft shell crabs were the special of the night. Probably 3 medium sized crabs. Lungs removed and super tasty and soft. All of it was edible with no hammer needed. Calamari appetizer was also delicious especially with the tartar sauce it came with. Some nice side dishes of baked potato and peas, a balcony overlooking the creek and a Woodford reserve on the rocks completed our nice evening out. My wife walked around the corner to take a picture of the sunset. Before tip this feast only ran me $86.

Deni H.

Yelp
Do not waste your money or time at this restaurant. It started with the lack of parking in the lot. We had a reservation and when we got in there it was a cluster f@#k of Kaos. We finally got seated and our waitress was great but the food was awful. The Caesar Salad was bitter the dressing was out of a bottle and the croutons were from a box. The seafood patter was not really edible. The fish filet was almost toxic, the clams were empty the oysters were so hard to open I was afraid to eat them.. The crab whatever it was mushy, the lobster tail was like rubber the shrimp were obviously frozen and the scallops were the only thing that tasted ok. I have never written a review of this nature ever before but the more I thought about it I just couldn't let it go.

D B.

Yelp
Things started out a bit shaky when we walked up at 7 and were told it would be about an hour wait, or 8:00. She took my name and telephone number, since the inside was crowded with everyone else waiting I said we'll be outside on the deck waiting. Finally at 8:20 I go inside to see no one waiting and asked where we were with our table. Seemly surprised, the hostess asks if we just got back. I told her no, we've been waiting right outside the door and haven't moved. They managed to get us a table after that pretty quickly. We ordered a couple of appetizers and two entrees. Everything was just so-so. Certainly not what I would expect for the prices and being essentially an island adjacent to the Atlantic Ocean. The food looked pre-prepped. My founder and stuffing was dry, over cooked and not seasoned well. Not sure about it be frozen or not, but I would wager the filet wasn't prepped with crab meat there at the restaurant. Just wasn't as good as we had hoped.

Mark H.

Yelp
Outstanding! Great service, great food, nice view from the outside patio. Seafood platter was amazing. Cream of crab and French onion soup are really good. The Village Restaurant is a must-go on the island. The service is warm and welcoming. The food will bring you back again and again.

Yelp
Still "THE BEST" restaurant on Chincoteague Island! My wife and I wanted to take our 1-year-old Irish Doodle on her first long-distance road trip, so we could not think of a better place than my hometown of Chincoteague Island. Actually, the primary reason for our visit this week was getting to The Village Restaurant on Maddox Boulevard at Eel Creek to enjoy another season of "THE BEST SOFT CRABS" and fried oysters anywhere on earth! We joined up with my high school classmate and her husband for dinner there last night. The restaurant was hopping with eager diners like us, and Lisa and her wait staff were in their usual FULL SPEED AHEAD service mode making sure that everyone's orders were served at optimum levels of satisfaction. All the employees are all full of great smiles and courtesies. The past couple of years of COVID-related interruptions were not strong enough to change the same great food, great atmosphere, and the greatest wait staff just like it always was before. I am glad to take this opportunity to report how wonderful The Village Restaurant is for a satisfying night out for dinner with family and friends. Thank you, Lisa!

Yelp
Strongly recommend. Warm bread. Generous portions of seafood. Big steaks. good views, cute interior, very kind staff.

Irochka D.

Yelp
We came on Sat, 8/12. The dining room was unbearably hot despite the 4 AC units working. The food was meh, and the portions were small. We were a party of 12, and not a single person said their food was great. Very overpriced.

Keith T.

Yelp
Came here yesterday for dinner and what a log jam it was...walk-ins were getting tables simultaneously with those with reservations.  As a result, their service was shoddy and rude...this is what happens when staff is comprised of individuals with no higher than high school educations. The food is par and that's it.  The oysters were dry, as if they were shucked and left to sit in a bucket all day until orders arrived...shells were half cracked, which let all the juice spill out and every one had pieces of shell in them because they were stacked on top of each other in a bucket after shucking.  The scallops had no salt/pepper and were rubbery and tasteless...it was almost as if they were supplied from Food Lion or Giant Food.  No care was given to the taste or presentation.  Wouldn't be surpised if the cook staff is comprised of high school kids, since a bunch were also cleaning tables and taking dinner orders. Bottom line, I have had the best Virginia oysters, but in NYC, where care is taken into cleanliness, shucking and presentation.  What they did to their own oysters was degrading and an insult to the Virginian fisherman!  They're also taking advantage of the locals' inexperience with fine dining and presenting their establishment as the best around.  Pretty sad experience and just as sad a seafood restaurant!  Never going back to that place!

Jen M.

Yelp
4.5 stars. seafood is where they shine, so stick to that part of the menu. Steaks are so-so. We try to go to the restaurant as soon as they open, because kitchen service is on the slow side. Wonderful wait staff. Their menu clearly delineates what can be prepared gluten-free, which is helpful for our family. The broiled flounder and Brussels sprouts appetizer are our favorites.

Rebecca S.

Yelp
Ah, The Village. It is an adorable small town restaurant trying its hardest. The waitstaff works tirelessly to make sure they are keeping up with the tables and they have a smile on the entire time. The restaurant is very nicely decorated-- very cute, beach vibes. The food was fine. It had a little 1960's old school diner vibe: pick your sides, garden salad on small glass plate, etc. Our fish was a little overdone and the crab cakes had a little too much filler, but it was absolutely edible! With the limited choices in Chincoteague, this was a really nice choice. We will return any time we are in the area!

Yelp
Excellent service and food! I have been coming here for decades, and the food just keeps getting better. This time members of our party had stuffed tomato, crab imperial, stuffed jumbo shrimp, and Chincoteague oysters. Everything was fresh, hot and not over or under cooked..
