The Vine Hotel

A team tried hard to be creative with the hotel design, but it feels like design was prioritized over functionality. Design Suite Review: Overall a spacious room with a walk-in closet, nice bathtub, and roomy shower. Faults: Lights in the walk-in closet didn't work and turned off after 15 seconds. Room lights were glitchy and needed to be reset on the master panel. Motion sensors would automatically turn on a light that was too bright if you got up from bed at night - disrupting anyone else sleeping in the room. There was no room to plug in our travel adapters on the desk, with no other place to plug them in. There was no Juliet-style balcony as listed in the room description, just windows facing the interior buildings/courtyard. Air conditioning did not work properly as it never felt cooler than 21C despite having it set at 16C. The rooftop pool is a nice place to chill with decent food offerings. The term "jacuzzi" is used to describe the small pool on the rooftop and spa, but it is simply a normal pool - not heated nor with jets. Free parking is a plus. Location is central and located in a mall entrance. Overall, we were disappointed in the hotel due to the misleading amenities and poor design functionality for the price. We would choose to stay elsewhere next time.

Excellent Hotel. Very friendly staff. Very easy access to downtown. Took us 10 minutes to walk to downtown cable car site. If you need any supermarket items, the mall is right downstairs and there is a nice supermarket there also. There is filtered water on every floor in a machine.The breakfast is also excellent. Great coffee machine, selection of fruits and cheeses and breads, as well as numerous hot entrées. Attached is the welcome letter to with their services. Also, very big plus was we rented a car in the free parking in the downstairs garage was very convenient. You need to go to the private parking lot, which is next to the mall pkg lot entrance.

The hotel location is great and has parking for guests. Easy to walk around the city from it. Great breakfast and fantastic view from the roof top pool and bar. The staff are helpful and make you feel welcome, ready to help with any issue. Rooms are clean and spacious.

This is a brilliantly located hotel. The service is excellent here, and the hotel is charming. It is never too busy, so there is always a staff member to help.||||The staff keep it spotless, and the views from the roof terrace are generally excellent (the city is ever changing, so building works were evident close to the hotel)||||However, it does have a few issues. The top issue is the fit and finish; the rooms have extensive lighting, and the switchgear is not backlit, so finding and switching on the lights is a pain. Also, due to age, some are damaged and have not been repaired. The rooms are, by design, very dark; that's great, but you need to be able to see.||||The shower room doors are not splashproof and leak, the toilet is placed too close to the door, and you will bang your head sitting down if you are tall.||||The Nespresso machine in the restaurant is a frustration; it never provided me with two cups of coffee without some failure.||||We tried the roof restaurant (Ova) on one occasion. We were the only diners, and the service was great. The food, however, was not up to the same standards as other great restaurants available, like 5 Sentidos and 1811, to name a couple of local establishments.

Business and pleasure. Jr. Suite that we were assigned has zero seating indoors or outdoors to relax, socialize and brainstorm with family and business associates. Also, no real designated vanity area for the wife. The suite is large, modern and esthetically pleasing but functionally terrible. The suite has sufficient space to be functional but furnishings, television, vanity and work/social space is not up to any reasonable design standard for such uses given this is a 5* luxury hotel.

Great location and very nice hotel. Room was clean and service on arrival was very good and welcoming. Balcony had a good view. Would recommend. Bath and shower were lovely. Rooftop bar was 10/10 with amazing views and fantastic service.

This property is far from a five-star standard. During my stay, I encountered several issues that made the experience uncomfortable and disappointing: Cleanliness: The glasses provided were dirty, the kettle was rusty and unhygienic, and the bathroom fittings were full of stains and water marks. The bed linens were visibly stained and worn out, while dust and dirt could be seen in multiple areas. Maintenance: The furniture and walls showed cracks, scratches, and unfinished gaps. Even the bathroom and toilet doors had visible openings, compromising both privacy and comfort. Facilities: The minibar was completely empty, the kettle unsafe to use, and there was no proper ventilation in the rooms. Basic amenities expected in a five-star hotel, such as a coffee machine or high-quality toiletries, were simply missing. Hygiene & Comfort: The toilet is placed directly inside the room with visible gaps and no ventilation, which creates unpleasant odors and a lack of privacy. Overall, this hotel fails to meet the expectations of a five-star establishment. Instead of luxury and comfort, guests face poor hygiene, maintenance issues, and unprofessional standards.

I had a great time at this hotel. Staff were really nice and offered great hiking recommendations. Rooms were beautiful. Loved getting a chocolate every night lol. Great breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice. Can't complain!

Restaurant: Great view, great service, very nice food but comes with a price. We spent around 160 in total (2p). Can recommend to ask for wine recommendations to go with your food, they are excellent. We enjoyed the chicken wing salade with ansjovis, carpaccio, the ravioli, the cannelloni and finished off with the chocolate charlotte. Finally, they also provided one of the best available kids chairs to make it easy to make the diner worthwhile with a 1 year old.

Disgraceful. I've never been treated in such an unethical fashion at any other hotel in my life. Save yourself bad treatment, horrible spa services, and game of thrones diplomacy. Stay anywhere else.
