tldr: They mentioned they could offer a style they actually couldn't even after detailed explaining on the cut and acknowledged the cut wasn't close to the same (literally saying "oh shit, yeah...") as the 4 reference pictures I provided. Preface: I already went to this establishment and got a haircut from Gabe (who did great, and I was satisfied with, even with my medium length hair), but since then, he left the shop. Review: With my hair being longer, I wanted to achieve a Bradley Cooper swept back, layered cut look. I was seriously considering a salon, but called The Vintage to confirm if they could achieve this cut that I was asking for. I asked twice and said I'd bring pictures for reference, and both times I got the response of, "Yes, we got you covered, come in, and we'll take care of you." Coming in, the environments nice and so are the people. I got assigned Teco (tee-co) who unfortunately couldn't provide the haircut by a long shot but continued to reassure me that he was perfectly capable even after detailing what I was looking for in the cut and that I want it scissor-dominant in its process. He had me facing away from the mirror the whole time, and when he showed me my haircut, it was nothing like the pictures and he even acknowledged it. I looked disappointed showing him the differences in the pictures and me, and he literally said, "Oh shit, yeah..." After an awkward silence, I just told him I'll figure out something to do with my hair, and we moved onto the beard trim. Which even then he had it crooked when finished, so I had to mention it before paying $57 for haircut that I didn't ask for, and a good beard and mustache trim. 2 Stars due to friendly environment and good beard trim, but haircut that doesn't even look like the pictures (and he acknowledged that his service was not what was requested)

I've been coming to vintage since I moved to Manteca. Everything about the place is dope. All the staff is friendly and greets you when you come in and they make you feel welcomed. They've always gone the extra step with my kids to make them feel comfortable. Besides that my barber Pat does an excellent job cutting mine and my kids hair. I've been to other barbers here in Manteca and Vintage is hands down the best place to go.

Ive been coming to The Vintage Barber Co for over a year now and it has been an amazing experience! The barber shop is super clean and the all the barbers are friendly and welcoming! Martin gives great haircuts and makes it an experience from a great conversation to the hot steam towel on your face! Every hair cut i have ever got from Martin has been the same experience!

I had my first experience at the vintage barbershop today and I went to Alisha. It was one of the best experiences ive had at a barber shop. She is super funny and very good at what she does. I'll definitely be coming back

I have been coming to the Vintage Barber Co. for more than 4 years. David Mendoza not only trims my hair perfectly but gives pretty good shaves too. The atmosphere is pretty fun and welcoming. I love going there. :)

Kim is absolutely fantastic! She gives some of the best haircuts I’ve ever had — precise, stylish, and always exactly what I ask for. Her attention to detail really shows, and she takes the time to make sure everything looks perfect. The straight razor shave is next level — smooth, relaxing, and done with real skill. You can tell she takes pride in her craft and cares about her clients. Every visit feels professional but also super comfortable. If you’re looking for someone who truly knows their way around both scissors and a straight razor, Kim is the one. Highly recommend!

5 stars this is the best place we have ever been. Rick did such an amazing job with our guys first haircut. He was so cool and kept him entertained with his tools and fun. My husband's hair is also the best fade he has ever had. Such affordable prices also. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Recently took my 3 year old son to see Gracie. Booking online was super easy, got same morning appointment. The vibe inside was relaxed and fun. Everyone working there seemed friendly. Prices were reasonable. Gracie did great with my son. Super sweet and warmed my son up quick and he's a shy one. They had lollipops for the kids and looked like they had adult drinks. Definitely recommend!

Always a great cut and shave for by 86 year old dad by Rick! You will not be disappointed.

I typically book with David but I have also booked with Alicia on several occasions. Either way I have received amazing haircuts and services. This shop is always lively and always high energy. The barbers are all pretty flexible and via social media send out plenty of reminders to book before big holidays or party season. If you go anywhere else, you are wrong.

This place is super awesome! If I lived in the area this would be my regular shop, no question. The price is fair, the music is on point. I recommend this spot to anyone who cares about getting a good haircut. Super professional. Super clean. Saw a brunch of kids getting super clean fades.

Parking lot close by. Nice and clean shop with extremely friendly stylist. I brought my dad here and Alisha did an amazing job! Their prices are fair and you can always add additional services. We'll be back again.

Did not get the haircut I asked for, guys name was Rick. Was rough with my head and attitude could be better.

From the moment you enter, you feel welcome by all of the barbers. They also offer you a drink from the mini refrigerator. This place has a very good vibe. I have had my haircut by three different barbers and I have not been let down. They are great at what they do. I definitely would recommend Martin, Yessica, and David. I don't know the other professionals, but from what I have seen they also do a great job on their clients.

Rick provides quick, quality service without normal barbershop gossip. I highly recommend him.

I went in to get a haircut and Pat's professionalism was an absolute pleasure. He took the time to understand my hair, what I was looking for and made several helpful suggestions. It's hard to get a good haircut and Pat delivered an amazing experience. The store itself has a vintage vibe and feel to it and feels cozy and luxurious at the same time. All in all, a great experience. Definite value for money and highly recommend Vintage Barbershop!

My son and husband love coming to see Rick every 2 to 3 weeks. He's patient and makes every cut a nice time. We are always very pleased with how their hair turns out. I love when we walk in how everyone's very nice. They always greet you when you walk in and say goodbye when you leave. We love it here! (Vee even cuts my daughter's hair)

Had an appointment with Rick today at 2. I showed up at 1:55 and sat down to wait for my slot. At 2:07 Rick finally walks out and just sits down and starts chitchatting with his coworkers (not a single one ever asked me what brought me in or if I had an appt). An older gentleman walks in at 2:09 and Rick immediately offers to help him saying "I have an appointment right now but I'll do this guys haircut first." The most unprofessional setting I've ever walked into. Just because you don't recognize a new customer doesn't mean you ignore them and disregard their appointment.

Ask for Martin, he is the best! Fresh cut, good time & detailed. Great conversation & Super easy to book with. This vibe is very awesome everyone is very professional & friendly. I personally love that the jokes are nonstop

Have been coming here for years, but $35 with a required minimum tip of $7 is crazy. The barber isn't even cutting or paying attention to me have the time so it's not like crazy quality service. Good haircut but not for $42

We were referred to this Shop and Rick specifically, over a year ago. What a god send! My 4 year old refused haircuts for over two years. And I mean REFUSED! However, from the moment he met Rick at the shop he was a changed lil man. He makes my son feel right at home in his chair! He just loves going and getting a sweet fade by Uncle Rick! And he's not to shabby with the clippers and scissors either....always brings a smile to our faces to see the great people at this shop. Highly recommended by this momma!

Highly recommend Vintage Barber shop. The atmosphere is great and the barbers make you feel at home. David, the barber that gave me my haircut, even offered a couple soft drinks free of charge while getting my haircut. It's nice to know they want to make your experience enjoyable. The haircut I got is nice and the only thing I regret is not getting a beard trim with the haircut. Will definitely come back to get my haircut and beard trim with it next time.

We took our 3 year old in today for his first haircut. We were very nervous considering our son has sensory issues. Its hard to find people who are patient and understand of children who struggle with this. Our little man definitely put up a fight the entire time but we are so grateful at the patience Rick showed our son. Not once did we get the vibe that our son was an inconvenience to him. He was super understanding, walked us through the process, and even laughed with us when our son said "let's get out of here." He was a lot happier with Rick when the promised lollipop was given to him. Lol Our son's haircut came out great! We will definitely be back.

Came here because of the exceptionally high number of five star reviews for this barbershop and adding another well-deserved five star review. Alicia took excellent care of my hair needs and was a pleasure to chat with during the session. My friend and I came in as shaggy walkins and we left as handsome gentlemen. After my hair cut lady left and moved too far for me to just get a hair cut I went through different people trying to find the right person. My brother recommended for me to go to his barber shop. I'd never been to an actual barber shop just Supercuts or fantasticsams but I thought why not! I scheduled an appointment with Yesica since she was taking walk ins and she was amazing! She gave me exactly what I was looking for and even cleaned me up around the ears, neck, and face which is something I wasn't getting from the places I was going to before. I have been going here off and on, more off than on . Do to the barber canceling on me to often. The final attempt the barber canceled on me again. Told him no problem. But he still charged me. I informed him of this asking for my cut and he became unresponsive. Pretty disappointing.

I called this morning and was able to make a same day appointment. Rick just so happened to be in the parking lot when we pulled in. He mistook my son for another client. I told him this was our first time and my son wanted his mullet touched up but was hesitant about losing length or it being too old school mullet. Rick didn't miss a beat, pulled up pictures of a recent mullet cut he did, and made my son feel comfortable about getting what he wanted. He was friendly, professional, quick and my son left with a huge smile on his face. Literally from the parking lot to seeing us out, Rick was the best barber my sons ever had. Shop itself was very clean, others smiled and greeted us when we walked in. All around great environment and would highly recommend them.

I can't say enough great things about our experience here today. It was my boys first time at a barbershop and Jordan was incredibly patient with coaching them through the experience while not showing an ounce of frustration with the thousand times he had to straighten their heads. I took in pictures and he was great at replicating exactly what we desired, while also being willing to suggest what would look best throughout the process. It was clean, the other barbers were friendly as well, and it was overall just a great experience. My boys are already begging to go back, when walking in they were terrified. That says it all. Definitely give this place a shot!

I had my haircut today and Jorge was my barber. I actually drove all the way from Antioch mainly due to the fact that no salons are opened in Contra Costa County yet. My Uncle who lives in Manteca suggested I come up and give them a try. I especially liked the website and the ease of booking appointments. It shows pics of the barbers and I liked that I could book and pay for my appointment ahead of time including the tip. They have a two hour cancellation which is very reasonable. The place was very clean, Jorge was ready for me right at 2:30. They require masks at this time so do bring one with you. Jorge gave me one of the best haircuts I have ever had. He took his time since I was a new client he wanted to make sure everything was perfect. He even took pics of my sides with his cell phone to show me what it looked like. It's very far for me to drive to get a haircut but I will be visiting my Uncle more often and I think I found a new barber. Thanks Jorge what a damn nice job . Will

My older son has been going to Rick for a while and we absolutely love him! When it was time for my younger son, who was scared beyond to get his haircut, Rick kept telling me to just bring him. He was right! My little one loves going to see Rick. Great haircuts! Great atmosphere! Great communication

Unprofessional business practices - Employees were talking shh.. about previous customers in front of me as I waited for my turn - I was told "I don't usually cut kids' hair" while in the middle of cutting my son's hair. If you weren't comfortable cutting kids' hair then make it known at the beginning - I had to decide the exact length he wanted to cut because "it would take too much time" to go back and trim a little more off if I decided shorter - At the time, sign posted stated $16 for kids. They actually charged $18

We have been cutting my son's hair at home for his first two years. We wanted hid first haircut to be at a real barbershop. After reading reviews of how great Rick was with kids we booked an appointment with him. We were not disappointed. Rick did a great job with our son, he was very patient, respectful and paid great attention to detail. The First Haircut certificate is already up! We highly recommend Rick!

We are honored to call Juan our kids barber now. We used to go to a chain barbershop and we were never truly satisfied with their mediocre work. The first time Juan cut and styled my son's hair, we knew we will be coming back again as regular customers. If you need someone that is patient, great with kids, and will actually make your handsome kids look even better, Juan is your kid's barber.

Just moved back into the area and needed to find a new barber and stat! Went and saw Derrick and man what a win. Great conversations with a cold beer :) When it came to my haircut, it was spot on. Derrick has the old school barber mentality with a new age twist. My fade was on point and sickening. Also, if you're a first responder or military (active or veteran) you will receive a discount on your cut. I'm a Marine Vet and was taken back when I went to pay. Derrick thanked me for my service and let me know about this discount. I will definitely be back. Thanks again!

Can't recommend this place enough. Barber shop was clean, great vibe and just an overall great experience. Had my haircut by Al Dexter and he gave me one of the best cuts I've ever had. If I lived in the area, this shop and Al would absolutely be my go-to every month.
