Excellent location, very close to major attractions. Beautiful views, especially from the lake-side rooms. The staff is very friendly and professional. Rooms are clean, modern, and well-maintained, with good availability. The room rates are on the higher side, but you can often find better deals on their website or through third-party booking sites. The service fee is reasonable, and there are no extra charges like resort fees. Parking and food are expensive, and the hotel only offers valet parking with no nearby alternative options. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is currently a nice 3.5 star property. Most of the rooms need upgrades but have potential if Mariott puts money into refreshing the former W location. It seems like they still get a party crowd based on the smell of weed when you enter the building. Probably more suitable for adults spending a weekend than a family with younger children.

Outstanding Hospitality at The Wade!||We had such a fantastic stay at The Wade, and the staff truly made it unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, Gerry at the front desk made us feel genuinely welcome—so warm, kind, and helpful. When we realized the kitchen was closed and we were starving, Gerry went above and beyond to help us track down a great local pizza spot for delivery. That kind of personal touch really stuck with us.||And huge shoutout to Gabby and Melissa at the bar. They were not only incredibly personable and attentive but also just fun to talk to. Their energy and friendliness made our final night in Chicago one of the highlights of the whole trip.

Beautiful Views and Exceptional Staff, Undermined by Basic Maintenance 3/5 Stars My stay at The Wade was defined by truly exceptional staff and a stunning location, but unfortunately, these positives were consistently undermined by a lack of basic 4.5-star amenities and maintenance issues. Upon arrival, the service was outstanding. Precious at the front desk was highly accommodating with my grocery delivery and generously granted us an extended 1:00 p.m. checkout. Security Officer Dwayne went above and beyond, personally intercepting a required in-person delivery when we arrived later than expected. We were also thrilled to receive a complimentary upgrade to a spectacular 29th-floor lake view room, a kindness extended by Erica that was genuinely appreciated. The view of Lake Michigan and Navy Pier is, without a doubt, the hotel's best asset. However, the in-room experience was immediately disappointing for a luxury hotel. There was no coffee maker, no proper glassware, only flimsy plastic cups. These essential items had to be requested, and to make matters worse, the ice maker on our floor was non-functional. This resulted in three separate calls for ice, glassware, and the coffee maker, requiring us to tip staff for items that should have been standard, turning a luxury stay into an inconvenient scavenger hunt. Room maintenance was also below standard: the toilet stool wiggles and the bathtub does not drain properly during a shower, causing water to pool. Finally, observations in public areas suggested a lack of upkeep: the lobby furniture is heavily worn and torn, and the floor appeared unswept even in the morning. Most notably, the windows in the enclosed pool observation area were extremely dirty. Overall, the staff and the views are 5-star quality, but the amenity gaps and cleanliness/maintenance issues bring the overall experience down significantly. This feels more like a 3-star property with 5-star staff.

Had a great stay here at The Wade! It was my first time in Chicago, but the staff were very accommodating nevertheless. I’d like to especially thank Frank for his kindness and hospitality - he made this trip all the more memorable. My go to hotel next time I’m in the city!

Right in front of the lake, this hotel has definitely seen better days. The hotel looks great from afar, but if you want to get into the details, the finishes are obviously dated and worn, but the modern style still holds. The service is fantastic, from the greeting to the checkout. The bottom floor is great for having a drink with friends and family. Just outside, it has tables and chairs to admire the view. ||The rooms are the same as the hotel; it was beautiful at one time, but it is getting a bit rough. I am sure it will be getting a facelift anytime soon. Same with the washroom. The shampoo and soap are not the best, but they will do the job for a day or two. If you are staying longer, bring your own or buy at the local stores.||Parking is expensive, way too expensive. Locally, use Lyft, not Uber. Uber is about 40% higher. ||At the end, for the price, it is a great location, great view if you get the lake front. The pool is not a great thing, but the gym is better than that.

Stayed at The Wade Chicago recently. The room was spacious and clean, and I really enjoyed the nice city view from the window. The location is great, close to the park and lake — perfect for walking and exploring. However, the hotel could use some renovation, both in the rooms and around the building. Soundproofing was poor — I could hear people in nearby rooms and the hallway. Very noisy air conditioning. Also, the included breakfast was disappointing. It came as a voucher with limited options, not what I expected for a hotel in this price range. Overall, it’s a decent stay if you value space and location, but there are some things that need improvement.

Google
My favorite place to stay. The rooms do need to be remodeled but the view is unmatched. I haven’t found another hotel where you can see unobstructed views of the lake and navy pier beautifully like that. I stay here often and love watching the sun rise or set. The food is pretty great here too.

Yelp
The W Hotel Chicago is a place that check every box when it comes to luxury, energy, and the best downtown vibes From the moment you walk into the sleek lobby, you can feel the pulse of the city, which is modern, bold, and effortlessly stylish. I recently had the opportunity to work an event there, and it was nothing short of amazing The staff was incredibly professional and accommodating, ensuring every detail ran smoothly from start to finish. The event spaces are stunning, with chic lighting, top-tier sound systems, and skyline views that set the perfect backdrop for any occasion. Whether it's a corporate event, private party, or social gathering, I feel like the W would definitely be a place to consider.

Yelp
Pros - Location, staff. Gym equipment. Cons - Everything is in dire need of a facelift. Everything! From the gym smelling like a mixture of mold, sweat and Clorox to the hair on bathroom walls. The tv remote didn't consistently work. The bathroom door had to be YANKED across to close. It's a mixture of a Fairfield Inn and Residence Inn. I had two queen size beds - they were more like Fulls with floppy pillows. 18th floor

5 Stars for Rooms Operations Coordinator, Gerri Pagan! Thank you for making our stay so incredible and for your kind hospitality! Most of all thank you for giving us a view! & to the helpful & supportive staff I spoke with when I misplaced my ID! Your team is incredible! Comfy rooms , trendy boutique vibes, lively night life in the lounge, and delicious breakfast included! A perfect choice to celebrate Suenos weekend!

Yelp
Just short of being a luxury hotel without the luxury price. Super nice staff. Bar and restaurant is a lot of fun except for the red haired male bartender. Not friendly at all. Two female servers/bartenders were a blast! Food was very reasonably priced and delicious. Drinks a little pricey even for downtown/lakefront, but pored decent. The room was very comfortable. Everything worked as it should. The view is amazing!! Valet parking is super easy and efficient. Around $90/day. Internet $10/day. Nice pool and workout room. No hot tub. There are a few things the Wade could work on but overall nice. We will come back.

Yelp
I did not do much research before booking this Marriott tribute collection hotel for a work trip. I was somewhat impressed, my biggest complaint is finding the front desk! They upgraded me to a mini suite, I had already paid for a lake view and received that on the 31st floor. The room is mostly updated, except the bathroom shower, hopefully they redo that soon. The tile was caving in and certainly needs a redo or they will have more water issues if they aren't already. The WiFi worked well, the staff was nice, there was sample space in my room and I didn't hear a peep through the night like most hotels. The hvac also worked well, both units. I would stay here again, walking distance to restaurants/stores/river walk.

Yelp
We had an excellent stay at The Wade- views outside our hotel room were beautiful, and the amenities were plentiful. There is a 24/7 gym, along with a pool and rooftop terrace. Checking in and out is smooth, there is a security guard after-hours who checks IDs to ensure that only guests may enter the building. Overall impressed, the TVs are a tad outdated and do not have streaming services like Netflix or HBO unfortunately. The interior is spacious and well maintained.

Yelp
They charge 9.95 per day! For internet! In 2025! So tacky for such an expensive hotel to nickel and dime patrons like that. Finally, the elevators are completely disobedient. They take forever to come, and then they don't stop on the floor that you chose, they'll just pass your floor, and then stop at random floors, willy-nilly. You'll be trying to get to the lobby and you'll finally be almost there when the elevator changes direction and takes you to floor 33! Then you begin the slow eternal descent all over again.

Yelp
Something at this great waterfront hotel went really bad when they changed from a "W Hotel" to a mystery "Wade". I'm thinking management doesn't give a rip but it's a shell of its former self. Bar and lobby restaurant have no kitchen because of an A/C problem that can't be fixed in half a month (wtf?). Bar staff is wonderful, they stuck with it through the transition, but I think they are heroic. God bless them. The BEST. Management needs to rethink their careers because obviously Marriott put their worst performers here (think 2 out of 5) . And IT SHOWS. Any business traveler who has been at any other hotel in Chicago would say where the hell is the leadership. Look for another job please. (THE WORST)

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went downtown for a night for our anniversary. the wade hotel was beautiful and felt unique and exciting as soon as we walked in. Lois was the concierge who was at the desk. she was AMAZING! She knew every restaurant and places to see and was beyond accommodating with all of our questions. When we walked in the room We had maccaroons and sparkling cider with champagne glasses (I had mentioned we don't drink) waiting for us with a charcuterie tray! we felt like that the whole entire time we stayed, totally taken care of. The rooms themselves were stunning with views of the lake and Lois told us there were fireworks at navy pier the night we stayed which we watched from our room! thank you Lois and thank you Wade hotel for the perfect anniversary

Yelp
I stayed at this hotel several years ago when it was the "W" or a different name, but you will see that the reviews are most likely the same. For me, I see these name changes as a way of hiding previous public reviews on various web sites. The rooms are very outdated and falling a part, considering the price point. Hotel rooms and hallways are very noisy. As soon as you open the room door to the hallway, the noise is overwhelming. The room was very dated. I should have known to stay away from dark carpets and dark bathroom tile. If the Maintenance team spent a few hours in there, I'm sure many of these cosmetic items could be corrected. The room was dirty and there were things that cleaning folks could have done to make it look a bit better. The icing on the cake was the blood on the bathroom wall, which was not mine. Location is good, but I would not stay there again unless there were some room updates made.

Yelp
We paid an extreme amount for one night here to have bugs in our shower and a broken safe door, along with no free wifi or breakfast. We also had to pay $85 for Valet to park our car for the night. This was an extremely over priced hotel and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The customer service here was terrible and the valet drivers at night were very rude to us as we were coming back from a concert.

Yelp
No attention to details. The place is way outdated. What is louder than the people in hallways or rooms next door are the outdated and malfunctioning mini fridges and HVAC fans.
