Stayed at The Wade Chicago recently. The room was spacious and clean, and I really enjoyed the nice city view from the window. The location is great, close to the park and lake — perfect for walking and exploring. However, the hotel could use some renovation, both in the rooms and around the building. Soundproofing was poor — I could hear people in nearby rooms and the hallway. Very noisy air conditioning. Also, the included breakfast was disappointing. It came as a voucher with limited options, not what I expected for a hotel in this price range. Overall, it’s a decent stay if you value space and location, but there are some things that need improvement.

Right in front of the lake, this hotel has definitely seen better days. The hotel looks great from afar, but if you want to get into the details, the finishes are obviously dated and worn, but the modern style still holds. The service is fantastic, from the greeting to the checkout. The bottom floor is great for having a drink with friends and family. Just outside, it has tables and chairs to admire the view. ||The rooms are the same as the hotel; it was beautiful at one time, but it is getting a bit rough. I am sure it will be getting a facelift anytime soon. Same with the washroom. The shampoo and soap are not the best, but they will do the job for a day or two. If you are staying longer, bring your own or buy at the local stores.||Parking is expensive, way too expensive. Locally, use Lyft, not Uber. Uber is about 40% higher. ||At the end, for the price, it is a great location, great view if you get the lake front. The pool is not a great thing, but the gym is better than that.

Check in was wonderful and then everything after that was real motel 6 feeling. After the great check in we dropped our stuff off quickly and went to grab a quick sight and some dinner. We got back and started realizing that this is not what we would consider 4.5 stars hotel by ANY means. Room was pretty small but hey it’s 4.5 stars so I shrugged and went on( thinking we sacrifice space for cleanliness, service, and location). I needed some ice and was directed by housekeeping (which were super sweet!!!) to another door which opened to the ice machine which was out of order but was told I could take the stairs down to the one on that floor. Both ice closets were in this same kind of condition very dirty around the floor (floor 17 and 16). (Pictures attached). I shrug it off and go back to the room shower get ready for bed when my wife notices there is black mold on the shower head that I used. At this point it’s late and we are both exhausted from a long day of traveling and have no energy to move rooms. Juuuust a little on the disappointed side.

It’s supposed to be a 5 star hotel. Rooms are small, shower is old, doors look really old. Very expensive food and all around expensive. Not worth the price at all. You have to pay for WiFi each day after paying $500 a night for a room. Not very accommodating and didn’t have face tags. Just some towels and hand towels. On the bright side, beautiful lake view and has a bar downstairs

Really nice for our corporate functions. We were on the 33rd floor in the altitude room which was beautiful with the views of the city on one side, and lake on the other side. Audio/visual did a great job. The food was also good. Its a nice space.

As a Marriott Bomboy member, this has been the worst hotel we've ever stayed at in the chain. The rooms are full of dust. We didn't even have soap in the bathroom. We asked for it, but they never brought it. After our key stopped working, we went to the front desk and were told we had to move rooms because the one we were in was going to have maintenance . That same day, I noticed I had forgotten a pair of shoes and notified the front desk. They told me they would check and bring them to my room. This never happened. Next day I asked another person at the front desk and told her the whole story. To my surprise, she told me that they couldn’t check on the room because it was occupied by other guest, so they lied to us!. My shoes were lost, and they couldn't even give me an answer. I sincerely do not recommend this hotel. It lacks trained staff, it's not clean, and above all, it's not possible that shoes could have gone missing in a couple of hours when they hastily evicted us from the room to move someone else in.

Big shout to the whole crew at The Wade for making my stay perfect, to name a few, Brandon at the desk, Carlos in F&B, & Starr at the Barr. Room was clean and comfortable with a great view of Lake Michigan. Thought i'd feel too far off the L lines, but a quick bus stint put me right in the action. Rooms were quiet and the in-room amenities were great.

The bedside tables don't have any drawers, the mini fridge is not stocked, the air conditioning sucks, wifi is only free if you book direct, the bathroom door is actually just a sliding door like a closet would have which is NOT smell-proof. The beds are decently comfortable, the pillows are nice, the shower is fantastic, they provide nice shampoo and conditioner, and it's 4/5 clean. What they don't tell you when you book is that there's nowhere to park and if you use the valet they have, it's $89 PER DAY which I find absolutely absurd. And the guy parked my car and then walked away with my keys even though I was standing there and made me late. If I'm paying that price, you're right that I have expectations for it and making me late when I budgeted extra travel time is not in line with it.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went downtown for a night for our anniversary. the wade hotel was beautiful and felt unique and exciting as soon as we walked in. Lois was the concierge who was at the desk. she was AMAZING! She knew every restaurant and places to see and was beyond accommodating with all of our questions. When we walked in the room We had maccaroons and sparkling cider with champagne glasses (I had mentioned we don't drink) waiting for us with a charcuterie tray! we felt like that the whole entire time we stayed, totally taken care of. The rooms themselves were stunning with views of the lake and Lois told us there were fireworks at navy pier the night we stayed which we watched from our room! thank you Lois and thank you Wade hotel for the perfect anniversary

Yelp
5 Stars for Rooms Operations Coordinator, Gerri Pagan! Thank you for making our stay so incredible and for your kind hospitality! Most of all thank you for giving us a view! & to the helpful & supportive staff I spoke with when I misplaced my ID! Your team is incredible! Comfy rooms , trendy boutique vibes, lively night life in the lounge, and delicious breakfast included! A perfect choice to celebrate Suenos weekend!

Yelp
I did not do much research before booking this Marriott tribute collection hotel for a work trip. I was somewhat impressed, my biggest complaint is finding the front desk! They upgraded me to a mini suite, I had already paid for a lake view and received that on the 31st floor. The room is mostly updated, except the bathroom shower, hopefully they redo that soon. The tile was caving in and certainly needs a redo or they will have more water issues if they aren't already. The WiFi worked well, the staff was nice, there was sample space in my room and I didn't hear a peep through the night like most hotels. The hvac also worked well, both units. I would stay here again, walking distance to restaurants/stores/river walk.

Yelp
We had an excellent stay at The Wade- views outside our hotel room were beautiful, and the amenities were plentiful. There is a 24/7 gym, along with a pool and rooftop terrace. Checking in and out is smooth, there is a security guard after-hours who checks IDs to ensure that only guests may enter the building. Overall impressed, the TVs are a tad outdated and do not have streaming services like Netflix or HBO unfortunately. The interior is spacious and well maintained.

Yelp
We paid an extreme amount for one night here to have bugs in our shower and a broken safe door, along with no free wifi or breakfast. We also had to pay $85 for Valet to park our car for the night. This was an extremely over priced hotel and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The customer service here was terrible and the valet drivers at night were very rude to us as we were coming back from a concert.

Yelp
They charge 9.95 per day! For internet! In 2025! So tacky for such an expensive hotel to nickel and dime patrons like that. Finally, the elevators are completely disobedient. They take forever to come, and then they don't stop on the floor that you chose, they'll just pass your floor, and then stop at random floors, willy-nilly. You'll be trying to get to the lobby and you'll finally be almost there when the elevator changes direction and takes you to floor 33! Then you begin the slow eternal descent all over again.

Yelp
Something at this great waterfront hotel went really bad when they changed from a "W Hotel" to a mystery "Wade". I'm thinking management doesn't give a rip but it's a shell of its former self. Bar and lobby restaurant have no kitchen because of an A/C problem that can't be fixed in half a month (wtf?). Bar staff is wonderful, they stuck with it through the transition, but I think they are heroic. God bless them. The BEST. Management needs to rethink their careers because obviously Marriott put their worst performers here (think 2 out of 5) . And IT SHOWS. Any business traveler who has been at any other hotel in Chicago would say where the hell is the leadership. Look for another job please. (THE WORST)

Yelp
I stayed at this hotel several years ago when it was the "W" or a different name, but you will see that the reviews are most likely the same. For me, I see these name changes as a way of hiding previous public reviews on various web sites. The rooms are very outdated and falling a part, considering the price point. Hotel rooms and hallways are very noisy. As soon as you open the room door to the hallway, the noise is overwhelming. The room was very dated. I should have known to stay away from dark carpets and dark bathroom tile. If the Maintenance team spent a few hours in there, I'm sure many of these cosmetic items could be corrected. The room was dirty and there were things that cleaning folks could have done to make it look a bit better. The icing on the cake was the blood on the bathroom wall, which was not mine. Location is good, but I would not stay there again unless there were some room updates made.

Yelp
No attention to details. The place is way outdated. What is louder than the people in hallways or rooms next door are the outdated and malfunctioning mini fridges and HVAC fans.
