I took my wife and 3 year old here for lunch on Saturday 1st Feb 2025. This by far is the best fish and chips I have ever eaten in 30 years. The salad was amazing - only would have preferred more radish and red onion. The chips make other chips taste like those potatoes that sit in a cupboard too long and grow roots from them. I couldn’t recommend to go here more, specifically for this dish. Will be back again the next time I am down :)

Wonderful spot to eat breakfast or lunch with the kids. Playground is really close and beautiful ocean views as you eat. Staff were absolutely wonderful. An error with a meal which they were super quick to rectify and then personal apology from both the server and the person who took the order. Strongly recommend this place as a must when travelling through the area. I had the risotto which was amazing, highly recommend as a gluten free meal and the best margarita on the coast. Children were very happy with their own meals as well.

Tuesday in school holidays, was busy for lunch but not packed out. Drinks were fast and the food super fast. We got the steak sandwich, chicken ceaser and kiddie nuggets. I was surprised how fast the food came out. The ceasar was huge and was a little challenge to finish and the nuggets disappeared in moments. For Vittoria coffee that I’m not a fan of, my cappuccino couldn’t be faulted.

Had breakfast here with a group of 5 people. Great friendly staff and quick service. Generous servings with 3 poached eggs on one serving. The Chilli prawn scrambled eggs was sensational. Coffee was good and the view outside made for the perfect start to the day.

Very good experience. The food was delicious. Corn fritters may not be the most worthwhile. You need to go before 11.30 to get the breakfast menu. The review is solely for the foods served after 11.30. The location is great. Staff is very kind and helpful. Good for families. The only problem, they don't have internet in the location. Advise to pay from card/cash and not phone to save time and cash.

Great spot for breakfast! Absolutely mesmorised by the staff and how in sync the work together; from the food, the coffee and the waiters, amazing. They were pretty busy this morning but the food and coffees still came out pretty quick. Worth the stop with a breath taking view of the water from your table.

There are so many satisfying and delicious meals at the Waterfront cafe but today the Cauliflower Bowl is truly sensational! Vegetarians and meat lovers alike will be totally blown away. Awesome job chef Jackie.👍🏼 🤩👍🏼

Yelp
The Waterfront was THE most popular spot in Merimbula for breakfast and brunch, and no wonder. It was right on the town boardwalk, with open views of the estuary beyond. It had everything such a place should have: decent food, good coffee, and people watching. There was also plenty of parking nearby on an expanded section of roadway next to the visitor center. Like a lot of places in town, the menu was a little small. They had one type of omelet, an eggs benedict dish, one pancake dish, etc. I chose the "eggs my way" dish on both my visits, since I just wanted something basic and flexible. This came with a number of optional side for an extra cost: baked beans, spinach, roasted tomatoes, sausage or bacon. (Australian bacon is like a piece of Canadian bacon joined to a piece of american bacon - back bacon meets pork belly). We saw a lot of regulars here, with a few sitting in the same spots (I assume they get there early). Nice hometown feel, but that's true of a lot of places in Merimbula. A really nice spot, but not my favorite in town (that role is filled by Bar Beach Kiosk); Grading on the local curve, this one gets 4 stars.

Yelp
Another gem in Merimbula. This is a favorite of the local first responders, and it's no mystery why. Coming from the US, where eggs Benedict with house made hollandaise is a rarity, theirs is superb. While I haven't had it, many of my coworkers rave about the house made OJ too. For that matter, they have all enjoyed their meals to a man (and woman).
