I had the best mussels I've ever had here, they were so delicious. Lovely staff that helped me with my dietary requirements. Plenty for me to eat needing gluten free and dairy free, the fish a chips were fantastic also. The 2 course set menu I think was very reasonably priced. Thank you for a lovely meal!

Amazing food and great service. I’d recommend booking in advance to secure a table. We went on a Monday night and it was full when we arrived at 7pm. The menu is amazing, our party ordered the Cod cheek tacos, 6 oysters and king prawns to start. All delicious. Then 2 x specials of a Trio of fish (sea bass, sea bream and scallop with bacon and mushroom risotto), scallops with black pudding, ham hock croquette and potato gratin. Cocktails were lovely and the staff were very attentive. Would recommend a visit if you are nearby.

Such a beautiful restaurant with great staff! We came in about 15 minutes before lunch service ended, with my family of 5. They still sat us and were very attentive. Did not feel like they wanted us to leave so they could close. Our food was amazing and the mussels were the best I’ve ever had! Not too fishy- and the cream sauce was dreamy. My family enjoyed the view and our meals. Other meals ordered were soup, oysters, and the fish specials. Would HIGHLY recommend this spot in Oban to anyone else. Also good atmosphere for children. What an amazing place to eat! The food was absolutely amazing, so tasty and cook to perfection. I had the mussels and sea bass and highly recommend it. BUT lots of other dishes available and even no fish options if you desire. We will be back and all this with one of the best views on the town. We stumbled upon this restaurant by overhearing hotel staff recommend it. It was an absolute delight! The seafood was incredibly fresh, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. My boyfriend, who is a fish lover, couldn’t stop praising his fish, calling it the best he’s ever had. The seafood chowder was equally impressive, packed with flavor and satisfying. The staff was incredibly accommodating and helpful, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. And the cherry on top? The breathtaking view of the bay. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

Absolutely brilliant meal, the best squid I have ever had. Fish and chips were delicious. My husband had the surf and turf salad bowl, and that was superb, too. Highly recommend!

The Waterfront Fishouse Restaurant – Review We stopped at The Pier Rooms for a night and spotted this seafood restaurant nearby, so we decided to give it a try – and it was well worth every penny! The views are stunning, the interior beautifully arranged, and the food? Hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The amazing staff kindly found us a table even though we didn’t have a reservation. I even tried Old Engine Oil beer for the first time in my life – definitely one for the brave! 😄 We left with full bellies and big smiles. I didn't take a lot of pictures because almost all of the tables were taken and I didn't want to disturb people while they were eating.

Came for dinner and had a really nice night. We had a great view over the bay and the service was extremely friendly and helpful. We got the 2 course deal which is a very reasonable price for what you get. We got arancini balls and the mussels as starters. The mussels were really delicious and a very generous portion for a starter- the sauce was the best I’ve ever had! We had the chicken and the coley and chips for mains which were both delicious. Drinks were great too. Couldn’t recommend it enough! Will definitely become back if we’re ever back in Oban.

They offer a varied menu for a large group, including people with dietary restrictions. Yummy food. Reportedly, the sticky toffee pudding and pancetta were fabulous. Service was a bit slow, but the evening was enjoyable. Very friendly staff.

This cozy spot is beautifully decorated for the holidays, creating a warm and festive ambiance. The service was friendly but a bit slow. We started with the mussels and scallops as appetizers, and they were fantastic. The mussels were plump, flavorful, and served in a generous portion, while the scallops were incredibly fresh with a perfect, delicate texture. However, the entrées didn't quite live up to the appetizers. We would have loved to see more seafood options on the menu. That said, the restaurant offers an extensive lunch menu with plenty of lunch specials to choose from. The holiday cocktails and wine list were solid, featuring a good variety of options to complement the meal.

Yes, I was that person ordering the roast chicken at a seafood restaurant, but it was really good! It's along the lines of Sicilian chicken/marry me chicken. The reason for the 4-stars was the prawn cocktail. It was basically a bed of shredded iceberg with some baby Gulf shrimp and half a bottle of thousand island dressing over it. There was so much dressing it wasn't enjoyable to eat. I was scraping it off on the sides of the bowl and my friend was using the pieces of bread as her napkin. Neither one of us was able to eat it.

Amazing service, great food, excellent ambiance! Our assortment of dinners included langostino, lobster, cod, and a steak as well as dessert! If I lived closer, it would be a repeat restaurant! Our servers were top-notch and so friendly; we sat in front of the bar/kitchen area and were stunned at the symbiotic relationship among all of the servers. We could not imagine anyone walking away disappointed from Waterfront Fishhouse!

We had a wonderful meal here! Cocktails and beers were great! Brooke did a FANTASTIC job with service, recommendations and hospitality!

If you are looking for a seafood restaurant that truly honours the delights from the ocean, than Waterfront is the place. It might be a bit more expensive but you will not be disappointed. The staff is super friendly and make you feel at ease and they are happy you are there! Sitting by the windows is the best place to be. Food is amazing! Please come and enjoy an evening here! It will be a highlight of your visit.

We were in Oban and our tour guide recommended Waterfront Fishouse. First, make a reservation if you are dining at night. We did but arrived substantially early yet they were very accommodating. We were on the second floor. It was crowded and a bit stuffy. I felt the first floor was a bit more open. Unfortunately I do not remember the exact dishes we had. I did have mussels for an appetizer, which I could have had a second round for my main. The food was delicious. All of the fish was very fresh and cooked to perfection! If I am in Oban again I will definately come back!

Fantastic food, service, and ambiance. A person at Glenfiddich Distillery recommended it and he was correct!

It is right near the ferry terminal. There were nice views out of the window from our table of the harbor at twilight. They offer an early dinner deal until 6:45 of two courses for £15. For the openers we had the local mussels [cooked in white wine, shallot and garlic cream sauce]. They were excellent-fresh and tasty. Our main courses of the trout and sea bream were both very good. We added sides of asparagus and broccoli and a salad. The dense chocolate tart desert was very chocolaty and came with cream, raspberries and raspberry coulis and was a satisfying end to a good meal.

The best fish I've ever had. Ever bite was an experience! The French manager was very friendly. Lovely views. I would highly recommend Oban and eating here!

I was in Scotland for 2 weeks with my family and this was everyone's favorite place to eat that we went to! I had the sea bass fillets which was the best food I've ever eaten. It's also very nice and quiet in the restaurant. Definitely a recommend for amazing seafood!

Average seafood for the Oban area. There are items that are lower priced (prix fixe?), which I'd recommend. Nothing was too interesting or flavorful. The restaurant and bathrooms are clean, the service is fine, and the view of the ferry is good.

Wonderful service and of course the seafood including fried (!!) shrimp scampi, the Dover soul and the lobster bisque. Loved during my 7 trips to Scotland. My wife and I walked in with no reservation at 6:30 PM on a Thursday & were warmly greeted and served all evening.

We had a good experience at this restaurant. The food was mostly excellent (my oysters didn't compare favorably to others I've had in the US). The fish and chips were really nicely done, crisp without being overly breaded. My companion's salmon was beautifully cooked; most and tender. And the sticky toffee pudding, my goodness it was wonderful. It loses a star for the somewhat indifferent service (it could be I'm just an anxious American) and for the oysters.

I am surprised by the low rating reviews. I love seafood, and I had one of the best mussels dishes ever! The fish dishes were also cooked to perfection. Generous portions and reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Clean bathroom. I'm not sure when I'll be back in Scotland again, but I would love to visit Oban again and and go back to this restaurant.

Silly silly me, I only checked yelp after we sat down and ordered :-/ they would have got 3 stars but a few things brought it down. Ok so the staff were sweet and polite so no problem there, the place was clean and bright and airy with good views of the harbour. The loos were super clean and nice and modern, so what's the problem?...... Dave ordered the black and blue murder burger, it was a delicious and piping hot burger topped with blue cheese and black pudding. It came with chips with were a bit like a cross between a roast potato and a chip, they were lovely. I went for the mussels in a cream. White wine and garlic sauce. It was a really generous portion unfortunately when it arrived it was lukewarm and the sauce was congealed *sad face* it was accompanied with crusty bread which was fresh and Lovely. The sauce and mussels did taste nice but the lack of heat concerned me as they are seafood. I sent them back and the girl was really nice about it... This is where it goes wrong. They came back about 2 mins later and the bowl was piping hot and the mussels starting to turn rubbery because.... THEY HAD BEEN MICROWAVED!?!?! WHO DOES THAT????? Weirdly they were still lukewarm :-/ I just couldn't eat them and started to stare longingly at the piles of fresh seafood the people outside were eating from the seafood shack outside. Now this is where I get a bit more peeved..... Waitress comes over and asks if everything is ok and when I replied no she said oh but chef checked it with the thermometer and everything! Instead of just saying ok sorry about that, it's never good to make out your customer is clueless/lying... When the bill arrived we had been billled for the mussels I hadn't eaten..... As soon as I questioned it we were given another bill but I expected them to just take it off without asking tbh. I think there are better places in Oban that you can get your seafood fix

Nothing special. Seafood was fresh but service was pretty average ... We showed up at 11:55am and asked for a table (staff was sitting around) and they told us to come back in 5mins as the restaurant is not open yet ....

Absolutely average. While the food was cheap it wasn't very filling... I'd recommend it to people on a budget; the quality of the seafood was good but not exceptional for this area's standard. I had the seafood pasta which was good enough but like I said before, not filling. The restaurant did however benefit from a great view of the harbor and beyond although slightly impacted by the nearby ferry.

Made a reservation at the recommendation of our B&B host. We arrived on time and could see that they were very busy. The young hostess was the only rude person we encountered in our two weeks in Scotland. Off to a bad start. Food was on the low end of mediocre and it was loud, disorganized and generally an unpleasant experience. Try Ee-usk instead. We had great food and service there.
