The Waterline Restaurant and Outrigger Beach Bar

What a find on our last day in Raro. We went without a booking and lucky to meet one of the owners at the car park. Promptly indicated that the restaurant is busy but if we can give a bit of time, then we can be accommodated. We agreed and got a corner table straight away. Great atmosphere, with live music and locals volunteering to sing along. They all are great singers. Food was great. Fish of the day was so delicious, nothing left by my 8 year old and 10 year old. Beef curry is exceptional. Tender and just the right amount of spices. As they say, Thai green curry was not for faint hearted. I enjoyed every bit of it. More variety of food than many other Raro restaurants. Will visit again surely. Thank you.

Disappointing would be the word that comes to mind. Also perhaps, tired. For a Saturday night, the restaurant was very quiet so being seated at 6.30 p.m. was not a problem. A delightful French receptionist delivered our first two drinks but our food order was taken by a young man. While there appeared to be plenty of staff, he delivered our two plates 5 minutes apart. Being accustomed to only starting a meal when all have been served, this was just an irritant. My fish of the day was a reasonable portion but I question which day. An ide ntical fish the next day at a BBQ tasted much more fresh. My wife's meal included a tiny soy sauce container and she had to request a little extra. It was on the bill as an extra $2 - just petty. The view is nice in the evening but none of the ceiling fans were turned on and we found it uncomfortably warm. Mosquitos were busy. We requested a small take out box which was provided but charged as another $2 on the bill. We have never had that happen at any restaurant in the 41 countries we have visited. We have only been on the island a couple of weeks but have found much better service and value for money elsewhere.

Popped in for a lunch and some drinks, the wait staff were friendly and the food was delicious. It was very very warm but what more can you ask from a tropical island. The decore is very interesting and I would recommend a visit. We will be back before we leave!

Came to Waterline twice during our stay. Don't be fooled by its appearance when you pull up to the restuarant, it looks a little dingy but it was one of our favourite places to dine on the island. No reservation needed, plenty of seating. Undercover seated area on the beach, otherwise open tables on the beach. Plenty of parking out front. Lunch needs to be ordered before 2pm. Small menu though enough variety. Casual dining, nothing fancy. Over both visits we had the fish and chips and beef burger (adventurous I know!). All cooked to perfection. Delicious flavourful. Fish juicy. Drinks cold. The best mango daiquiri! Waitress to be commended, there both days we visits. Excellent friendly service. Reasonably priced. Views to die for. Would recommend. Would go again.

Lovely food, well presented with devine side salads and reasonably priced. The tempura fish & prawns + the Pineapple delight desert were my favourites. We did not book but arrived early and were accommodated and promptly served. We dined on a Friday night and did have to remind them we were there when it got busy later, island chill attitude rules here! We ate here again and everything was delicious

Our Arrival Walked down the long drive way to the beach end here is waterline restaurant . As per other guest don't be fooled by the suburban look as there is a fantastic restaurant just around the corner . Service Greetings with a big smile and shown to our seats. Feeling very welcomed and relaxed. Food They have great variety of options on there menu with affordable prices. The restaurant has a rustic feel casual dinning and overall I would come back well done to Waterline and the team.

Don’t be fooled by the front facade 🤣 when we first arrived it felt like it was somebody’s home. The restaurant and bar is rustic and very inviting. The whole restaurant has a really inviting atmosphere. The service was outstanding. The food was super good and probably some of the best meals we had in Rarotonga.

My wife and I stumbled across this place when out for a evening walk. The food and atmosphere was great and they even have live music which was awesome. Best of all we got to watch the sunset on our first night here in Rarotonga. ❤️⛱️👍🍷😀
