Art Series - The Watson (Adelaide, South Australia) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Just like its Art Series sisters all across Australia, Art Series - The Watson, in the upscale Adelaide suburb of Walkerville, is a luxury boutique hotel dedicated to the work of a single artist — in this case Yannima Pirkarli Tommy Watson, the great Indigenous painter of the Western Desert. The suites are minimalist and Modernist, each one displaying Watson’s colorful work; the public spaces, too, are handsome, including Local Grind, a café and coffee roaster serving brunch and dinner made from farm-fresh local produce. Meanwhile the hotel’s Art Advocates are on hand to lead guests on art tours of Adelaide." - Tablet Hotels

A great place to stay when staying in Adelaide. It is 20 minutes from the CBD by driving and 58 minutes walk. If you're like myself that enjoys the walk to explore the place on the ground it's beautiful. The surrounding environment is also amazing and has shops nearby to buy groceries if you're not looking at eating out. Our room had an oven, microwave, stove, fridge everything you needed. Staff were friendly and when we asked for anything they were helpful.

Stayed for 2 nights in a studio suite.|The room was on the 8th floor.|The room consisted of a kitchenette, very comfy couch, 2 seater table and very comfy bed. The bathroom consisted of a large shower with very small shower head. The towels were large which for me is always a plus.|The tiles in the shower and around the bathroom could do with a good scrub but overall the bathroom was very clean.|The kitchenette has a coffee maker, stove top and a small fridge which had plenty of room in it.|There was only one window in the room which could’ve done with a privacy blind so you could leave the blockout blind fully up during the day. Our room overlooked many balconies in the side arm of the building.|A big plus was the ability to chrome cast.|Undercover parking and outdoor parking available.|This hotel is in a great location.|We would stay here again.

Booked for a week had to leave after one night. Unclean, feels unhygienic. Dark dingy hallways stink of oil and old food. Blankets missing tv broken and after calling for help staff they couldn’t do anything to fix it. Fridge detached from fridge joinery. Bathroom/ laundry stank of sewer smell and humidity. Requested sheets to cover couches so I could feel safe sitting my young children on them. They looked and felt unclean. Would not return nor recommend.

Great room on the 8th floor. The room consisted of a kitchenette, very comfy couch, 2 seater table and very comfy bed. Great large shower but with a very small shower head. The towels were large which is always a plus. The tiles in the shower and around the bathroom could do with a good scrub but overall the bathroom was clean. The kitchenette has a coffee maker, stove top and small fridge which had plenty of room in it. Chrome casting was available which again another big plus. There was only one window in the room which could’ve done with a privacy blind so you could leave the blockout blind fully up during the day. Our room overlooked many balconies on the side arm of the building. Outdoor and undercover parking available. We used undercover parking. There seems to be confusion between what is advertised on the website and in email you receive to what is charged parking. We were not charged for parking as our email had advised it was free. Charges advised were $10 and $15 depending on where you parked but do check if The Watson have not clarified this more clearly. Great location, supermarket and many cafe/restaurants close by. We would definitely stay again.

Booking and checking in was easy and straightforward. All of our minor additional requests were organised before we arrived and with no fuss. During our stay a couple of simple maintenance issues were attended to promptly. The room had a great outlook across the Adelaide CBD and with 3 of us in the suite there was plenty of space. Undercover parking was a true bonus given the weather and proximity to shops and cafes even more so. Overall an excellent stay and we would definitely stay again. Thanks to Leigh and Alistair for their genuine hospitality.

It’s fine for its money.. far from a luxury hotel but offers generally clean and relatively practical self contained (microwave, oven, washer/dryer) rooms/apartments. Every time I’ve stayed here there seems to be some sort of maintenance/construction work going on in the building which is showing its age and the lack of blackout blinds might be a problem for some. Location is good, easy bus/uber ride to the city. Woolworths, a couple of cafes and a pub within a five minute walk so convenient without being the most vibrant area either but still a very safe inner city, well-to-do Adelaide location. Polite reception staff. Another mid-range and unremarkable Accor property but good value overall.

The only thing that would have made this place better was a better quality of wi-fi since the reception to the room was spotty and inconsistent fluctuating between 1-2 and 3 bars. Other than that, everything else was quite nice. The hotel service desk person was very informative, helpful, and nice. They waved the indoor parking fee for signing up to the hotel loyalty program. Otherwise, it would have been $25 a night, or $15 a night outdoors. The room had everything that was needed except for a desk for a workspace. The bed was quite hard but comfortable. The AC worked great, and the balcony view was nice. Great location for food and shopping.

Always love staying here. Super quiet so you get a good nights sleep, Clean and the best beds. Staff are all lovely and very helpful. Close to shops, hotel, restaurants and buses to the city in 15 mins. Amongst the beautiful trees and lovely walking path just across the road.

Yelp
Cute, basic little boutique hotel outside the city centre in Adelaide. Not a lot to see in the immediate area, so if you do not have a car you might want to be a bit closer to the downtown area. The room was small, but the bed was comfortable. Small but usable bathroom with shower. Overall, no complaints for an overnight stay. If I went to Adelaide again, I would choose a more central location.
