Do you value honesty or would you rather someone tell you what you want to hear? Many times we say we value honesty, and we want to know the truth, but in fact, we do not want to know the truth. A friend of mine was riding in my car for the very first time. She did not say anything throughout the entire duration of the ride until we got to the end of the ride. She then said your car smells like Chinese food! Really!!! I cannot believe she said that. The nerve, the unadulterated gall, how uncouth! How could she make such terrible statement was my initial reaction. Then I put on my objectivity cap and said, have I had Chinese food in my car in the last day or week? Well...yes...I did have Chinese food in my car two days ago. Perhaps I just became immune to the smell. I didn't notice it, but someone with a keen sense of smell did so. While I was initially a little irritated that my friend was so direct and honest, and I did not want to accept the truth, she was absolutely correct.
So I returned to The Webster store in the Domain to buy an air freshener tile. They have the most fragrant scent in the store and they sell this scent in tiles and candles. The tiles and the candles are a bit pricey. However, after I thought about the Chinese food smell in my car, I cratered, and decided to buy the fragrant tile. Can't wait for my friend to ride in my car again.
Patricia, the sales associate, was very accommodating and friendly.
