On the Grid : The Well

"The Well is a shrine to the act of producing and enjoying beer. When you walk in, you’re struck right away by the sheer expanse of the space and then you notice the crazy long row of taps (60) featuring some fantastic drafts from near and far. Take a step through the back doors and you’re in their huge backyard where parties are plentiful in the summer. But the most impressive thing about this behemoth is that it exists within the historic Huber-Hittleman Brewery complex, built in 1866. The massive concrete columns highlight the bar, which—during the brewery days—was used as an ice storage facility. Complete with underground lagering caves, this building marked the terminus of Brewer’s Row, a street that at one time had twelve breweries on twelve square blocks. So enjoy your Pilsner or Weisse in a beer hall with some serious brewing history in it’s bones. The Well also features a back room which is used for weekly events and is available to book for private parties." - Radish Lab

The Well Has Opened a Country Retreat at Litchfield’s Mayflower Inn | Vogue

"When The Well first opened in New York City a year ago, it quickly drew a crowd of urban wellness devotees ranging from startup founders to social media influencers to CEOs. The hook? The center’s focus on both Eastern and Western medicine: you could attend both a sports coaching and Ayurvedic session, see a physical therapist and an acupuncturist, go to the gym and get a massage, all under the same roof. It was the ultimate place to destress and escape the metropolitan hustle and bustle." - Elise Taylor

Google
Nice place to relax and treat yourself for a spa day. It’s a little pricey but I think it would worth it if not all the extra charges they charge as a tip of20% plus tax on top of that. I came 30 min before to use their saunas one of them was not working and nobody let me know about that dry spa was still a little cold. So l missed all other treats I can enjoy for such a high price. No discount no extra treats. Facial cost me $300 for 60 min and I don’t think person who was taking care of me was that good. She did some massage and then start facial and it was so many times I just was laying down waiting for mask and some other stuff and I think she should start with facial and between give me massage instead of just laying there. 60 min is so little and you just laying there for 15 min waiting

I was not a fan. The food was not great. I wouldn't say it was bad but just lacked any good taste. I've been to healthy food places and you can make it great. The smoothie was also not good. Just not tasty. It was probably healthy? But again, healthy doesn't mean no taste. The atmosphere is a bit too relaxed. There is a spa in this place so some people are there in robes. Not something I want during my dining experience. If I was in a spa myself it probably would've been better. Maybe it's someone's vibe. But definitely not my thing.

Google
The food and juices are high quality. The gift shop is upscale including jewelry, but they stock solid herbal products. (Including a nano hydroxy apatite toothpaste!) The staff is sweet, not fast necessarily. Go in with time to spare, and on off hours for a best case outcome. Impeccable concept and design.

Google
I absolutely love The Well ! The design is beautiful and the staff is lovely and knowledgeable ! I visited this past Wednesday and had the MOST DELICIOUS Curry for lunch followed by a healing foot rub in an exquisite relaxing room. The air is filled with the enchanting scent of the Well's RESET signature blend & the sauna and steam were pure heaven. I haven't felt so good since the pandemic arrived and intend to return next week. I also booked a birthday celebration lunch there for me and a friend later this month, which I look forward to with all my heart. Thank you for creating such a rejuvenating atmosphere that delights the senses and restores a sense of balance and harmony to our lives.

Google
Had an amazing day at The Well NYC! The spa is absolutely gorgeous. I tried the lymphatic massage for the first time - it’s very gentle, relaxing, and helps depuff/debloat/detox. After I enjoyed the hot sauna and a shower - love the clean ingredient products for use. I ended with a nourishing, delicious meal at the cafe and picked up some items from the shop on my way out! I’ll definitely be back to try more services and simply enjoy the amenities and eats! Thank you!

Google
The food was decent but took a long time and did not come as ordered (we asked for Medium and got well-done) but the veggies and salad were better - there was a hair on my napkin which I just pulled off but I mention it because then there was a hair in the to-go container they brought us. They got us a new container but yeah the attention to detail was lacking. Overall it was okay, not sure I'd return.

Google
Heaven on earth. I’ve only been to NYC twice since they opened and I made time for the well both times! You can book a first time drop in class online for only $20, and with the class you gain access to the entire downstairs area which has private, gender-inclusive locker rooms with robes, towels, and sandals to explore the steam room, sauna, and mediation rooms. The entire experience is so relaxing and restorative, it’s an absolute must especially in winter. They also have all beauty counter products in the showers, other vegan skin care products available to try as well as dyson air wraps! If you want to feel treated come here immediately!

I bought my wife a gift certificate for Mother’s Day and paid cash. The clerk never entered it into the computer. When my wife went in to use it they said they had no record of it. They had no record of it despite mine and my wife’s contact details being in their computer from several previous purchases. When I asked them about it they essentially told me to go pound sand. Get your receipt from this place before you leave. It’s a nice place but so shady and awful customer service. Plenty of other great spas in the city. Skip this one for gift certificates. What a joke.

Yelp
Came here for a one hour spa, Serena was my masseuse and she was wonderful. We went over my needs and preference at the beginning, and she paid attention to all details. She's sweet and friendly, made the overall experience relaxing, exactly what I needed. The different rooms and chairs are great way to enjoy and relax before and after your appointment (steam read, dry sauna, ultra red light room, meditation room, cold plunge... you name it). I explored all but the cold plunge. Thanks for a nice relaxing afternoon!

Yelp
Love the massages and facials here. I just got a membership and probably get 2 treatments at least per week. Unfortunately they don't care about training the front desk and it's the opposite of relaxing when the staff (Christina in particular) are so weird and rude.. it's almost as if she prefers being belittling and rude than caring if the customer has a smooth process booking. The amount of condescending attitude is really astounding. Debating canceling my membership and just going else where. I've reported the matter but didn't even get an apology or any acknowledgment so maybe this review can get to someone who cares.

Yelp
Mixed feelings about this place. We went and I thought it was Among the worst services we got while the person I was with thought it was among the best we had. Weird that they stopped putting out bone broth so early. The amenities were good. Found a staff member sleeping in the locker room. I emailed them when they asked for feedback but never had a response back.

Yelp
if you are looking for a high end spa experience save your money! They market The Well as if it's a high end spa but I was shocked when I was led downstairs into what can only be described as a dingy basement. The relaxation area is a hard bench that is neither comfortable or relaxing. There is no soft music or scents... not even 1/2 as nice as my Equinox gym locker room. most disappointing of all was the massage. The woman who gave me my massage was a lovely lady but a terrible masseuse. It was not a Swedish massage, just kind of manhandling my muscles and not relaxing at all. 1/2 way through she announced she would do cupping on me (I didn't request it) but at this point since the massage wasn't relaxing, I figured what the hell why not give it a shot. She informed me that I would "be a little red". what I actually was was black and blue with large round bruises that lasted three days. Thank goodness I didn't have an event to go to. If somebody can recommend a masseuse at The Well that they know and love go for it. Otherwise don't take a chance. It's a waste of $400.

Yelp
I'm sincerely so glad I discovered The Well and more specifically their pilates classes!! I came by the café to get some work done before my pilates class and I must say the food, the ambiance and everything about The Well tells you they are truly providing a 360 wellness experience. I've been to two pilates classes so far, and it has really helped with my lower back pain. Gail is an amazing instructor and will take the time to ask you how you're doing, if you need any extra support etc. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
I was gifted a $200 gift card to The Well so I decided to get a 60 minute facial ($250). When I entered, the woman at the front desk area was super friendly and brought me downstairs for a little tour, which was nice. I got there about 40 min earlier than my facial time so that I could utilize their dry sauna and steam room, both which were clean and nice (even though the steam room did smell a little musty). While you wait for your service, there's complimentary flavored water, bone broth, nuts, and tea. The bone broth is a nice touch considering how expensive it can be sometimes. I had Olga for my facial and she was great - made suggestions and kept me in the loop with what she was doing. The locker room is clean and has dyson blow dryers, disposable combs, and some test products to try. The actual shampoo/conditioner/soap in the showers are generic nothing fancy products, which was unfortunate considering how much you pay here. There's a whole café upstairs that anyone can go to for lunch, it was very crowded at 1pm on Saturday while I was there. Overall a nice place, but expensive. I would go back for a special occasion like a couples massage and make the most out of it by utilizing the sauna and steam room.

Yelp
The food is okay but overpriced. Terrible service - rude and unprofessional. If I could leave 0 star I would

Yelp
NO STEAM ROOM/SAUNA INCLUDED WITH CLASSES AS OF JAN 2023 this place is all "vibes", no substance. I'm a New Yorker and I expect bang for my buck... this ain't it. If this is what LA is like, I don't fucking want it! I'd been hearing about the well for a while and finally booked a Pilates class. The class prices have been significantly raised since the fall, now up to $52 from what I think was only $20 or 30. That felt steep, but I figured it would be worth it with the other amenities offered. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I was informed that their policy had changed recently and booking a class no longer includes steam room/sauna. That's an extra $45. But you can shower as part of your $52, gee whiz! The highlight ended up being the Pilates class. It was hard and the instructor was very attentive and personable. I will be sore tomorrow. Awesome! But to me, not worth nearly that much $$. I did go talk to the front desk about using the amenities after class. I explained that their website verbiage was unclear and that they should put up a banner on their site explaining that policies have changed - because the all inclusive vibe was the entire reason I came there. They kindly extended the use of the steam room and sauna to me for free - "just this once". So props to them for comping me. Gotta say, I was also kinda creeped out by the workers. They're all dressed in white jumpsuits and hovering around. There's no signage or directions in the basement so you kind of wander aimlessly until they ask if you need help. Also... no bone broth! I get the sense now that it's not available after the kitchen closes. Lame. All in all, I won't be returning. I love the energy of NY Spa and Sauna and will continue to make the trek to Flushing to use several hot and cold pools, a steam room, 7 saunas, and an ice room for $35. Can't beat that.

Yelp
Front desk is not informed or helpful Amy left me on hold for 1o minutes , was not a positive experience,

Yelp
If you just have money laying around and not sure what to do with it, come here and spend your entire day here. I swear there is a little of everything health wise. I heard of this great spot via Tik Tok and all the regulars are sour about it. Cheer up this isn't the place to be aggy! I booked a Mindful Movement Yoga Class and I was worked out, Erica was great her voice is perfect for yoga. Upon entering my class I saw that they have a Recovery & IV Treatment room right next door which I was intrigued by. Online I saw a bunch of great things, the Energy Healing sounds great, Chinese medicine & acupuncture also sounds great and looking forward to bodywork & massage soon. You get an hour before or after your yoga session to enjoy the dry and steam saunas at no cost. Refreshments and snacks are in the waiting area and they even provide cold towels and aloe for those steamy in between saunas. I saw items for purchase, a restaurant, and an adorable library. Staff is polite and super helpful. Looking forward to coming again.

Yelp
I booked a facial at The Well and I was very pleased with my overall experience. To start - I loved the facilities. Getting to use their steam room and showers prior to my facial was so relaxing and I loved their complimentary drinks and supplies in the bathrooms. My facial was also great! I felt comfortable the entire time and left feeling refreshed. While I had a very positive experience, I do think the prices should be lower. $225 for a 60 minute facial is quite high and they do add a 20% tip automatically. Additionally, I noticed a few people having issues with their lockers and the white couch in the waiting area was showing it's age. Overall, I would return if I really wanted to treat myself but I'm not sure if this will be my go-to spot just yet.

Sonya V.

Yelp
The Well sells Six Gldn skin care products!!! So glad to be able to buy them there. The Well is a great match for these clean, eco- friendly products for skin.

Yelp
Gorg facilities and amazing massage. One of my best ever! My masseuse Randy did a great job.

Yelp
Ehh I have mixed feelings about this place.I had a gift card so I booked a massage for a Friday around lunch time. Upon entering, the restaurant is to the right and check in for the spa to the left. However, at lunch time the restaurant is super packed and loud which totally kills the whole "relaxed spa" vibe I wanted that day. Once you're escorted downstairs to the spa area the sound level goes down which is great but in certain areas you can still hear the hustle and bustle of upstairs (I guess I can't expect too much zen for a nyc spa but whatever). I arrived about 30 min before my massage appointment so I had free access to the saunas/steam room. I think there's about 3 options plus a cold plunge room. Great for a quick relax but wouldn't recommend if you're looking for a full day spa. They also have some water, teas, almonds, & fruits that you can help yourself too. The massage itself was okay, nothing too special. In the changing area there are Dyson hairdryers and various lotions, cleansers, etc. The facility itself is very clean and the staff I encountered were all very welcoming. While the Swedish massage was $200 they had a $25 peak charge (??) and 20% gratuity (both the 200 and extra 25 are charged 20%) so the total for the massage was $280. I don't really think this place is worth the price but I guess if you want to splurge there are worse options.

Yelp
I decided to spontaneously visit The Well in July on my birthday hoping to be proactive about my bday blues and pep myself up a bit. However The Well missed the mark for me. Upon booking my reiki session I enjoyed speaking to the high energy reservation agent but that's where the high energy ended. When I stepped inside the establishment I wasn't greeted at all just looked at which was kind of weird. I had to introduce myself to the woman behind the register and let her know I had a scheduled appointment, in which she replied "oh ok" come downstairs. This was my first visit I had no navigation of where things were, the process, products or anything. She literally just sat me on a bench didn't offer any water tea or at least show me where the restrooms were located. After a few moment my reiki therapist greeted me and led me to my session. He was the one to advise me where the restroom was located and actually show me the locker rooms so I could get undressed. I actually had to figure out the locker code system myself which would've been helpful if I would've been instructed prior. This was my first reiki session and I won't reflect my experience on the instructor he was very kind but his energy felt like he was unsure and still trying to figure it out. The environment felt like the Calabasas of alternative healing ...... It seemed like a lot of fluff and no substance. After finishing my session I was offered some cardamom water, showed the steam room and sauna and was lead to an alternative entrance into the women's locker.... It wasn't until 10 minutes of me thinking I was in the twilight zone and not understanding why the code to my locker didn't work did I realize my Reiki guy took me into the wrong locker room... He put me inside the men's locker room! Thank goodness no one was there I would've been mortified! One thing that stands out is the beauty of this place it's very clean and the aesthetic's with all the crystals, hanging lavender and eucalyptus leaves really soothes you. I throughly enjoyed the steam room shower and quality products available for use based off the karma system. After frolicking in the steam room and showering I decided to take myself to dinner so I proceeded to put on my make up. The entire time I was in the locker room, the locker attendant was RUNNING in & out, back and forth, flinging open doors... it was ANNOYING... I didn't know what was going on and why she was zooming in and out through the doors like that. I actually stopped her and ask what time they closed because I wasn't sure if her presence was suppose to be hints. She informed me that they close at 9pm it was just before 8pm so I told her no problem I'll be out the way in a few and hurried up and got dressed. When leaving the zooming locker attendant proceeds to knocks the crap out of me with the door! The doors push in instead of pull out and I got knocked pretty hard. Nonetheless I'm just like well this was a super weird experience and bday.... *Positive thoughts wooosahhhh* I come upstairs and go to purchase some products once again the woman that is behind the register is cold, uninterested and distant even as I ask her about what products to purchase. I grow tired of trying to change my experience and I pick up the oil that was my favorite while in my session and check out. The cashier says the price super fast and ask for my card. Confused I ask her to explain the price she tells me oh yeah we just automatically put a 22% tip for your service.... So 256.92.... She seemed offended that I had the nerves to ask her about MY bill lol My issue with this is she didn't even inquire if I liked my service and the establishment never made it known that a mandatory tip would be automatically allocated to any services. I think this practice is a passive aggressive way to shame someone into just going with it despite service. I was mainly disappointed that this was done without asking did I enjoy my time. I always pay the mandatory tip or more but I don't like feeling passively bullied. I advised that I would like to tip in cash and ended up waiting a extra 15 minutes for change. The manager or owner eventually just gave me the change directly from his wallet while also exuding the same energy. Something that was supposed to make me feel proactive about loving and honoring myself just ended up annoying me like hell. This place has a very LA feel to it, It gives major red string on left wrist vibes which does not coincide with NYC aura.

Yelp
I love The Well and I regularly invite my friends to join me there for lunch and treatments ! For example, yesterday a dear friend of mine, who is a raw food chef and owner of a wellness center in Istanbul, came to visit me and I told her she must come with me to experience The Well. We had a beautiful lunch and then foot rubs together from Karuna & Seema. She loved it all and I was again impressed by the generosity, dedication and kindness of the staff. In fact, my friend loved the food so much, that she asked for an ingredient list of some of the dishes we enjoyed, which included the salmon, rice, asparagus, hummus, tomato chutney and the spectacular vegan Tres Leches dessert. Our hostess/waitress was kind enough to run back to the kitchen several times to find out the recipes and deliver them to us. In addition, my friend had been experiencing some intestinal distress due to jet lag. Her therapist was able to put pressure on the proper energy meridians to set the energy in motion. Although it was quite painful at first, afterwards she felt some relief. Then we went to take a sauna and steam together and she was able to sweat out toxins and release the blockages she had been holding on to since her flight, She told me that she felt like a new woman. She was totally relaxed and happy again ! I am grateful for all the excellent services and delicious food The Well provides for us.

Yelp
Best facials I've gotten in the city, so relaxing and I leave glowing. Their team is so knowledgeable and gave me an at home routine of Biologique products that have transformed my skin. Have also gotten an amazing massage, this place is a gem. Highly recommend for a place to unwind from the chaos of NYC.

Yelp
absolutely blissful!! this spa is so clean and gorgeous and relaxing!! they have a sauna and steam room to die for and the locker rooms are gorgeous! I can't recommend this place enough. My facial was the best I have ever had! Request Shannon if you can! her hands are magic.

Yelp
Amazing! Worth the price for a holistic massage and wellness experience. I appreciated the time the therapist took to give advice on self care with acupressure points.

Yelp
This was my second time at The Well. My first experience, for my birthday with friends, was phenomenal. We all loved it. I went back recently and got a massage -- it was great. The gentleman was really good and it relaxed me for the rest of the day. However, when we went to the locker rooms (to the steam room and sauna) there were a few issues and obvious cutbacks they made. For one, the steam room was slightly musty smelling. Next, there used to be several nice products to use for the showers -- great for me and The Well because if I like something I will buy it. However, they replaced the nice in-shower products for generic no-brand body soap, shampoo, etc -- kind of killed the luxury vibe they had. They also don't provide loofahs to wash yourself with like they used to. You're stuck with just your hands and soap. Second, outside of the showers, there were products to try but they had less of them and the face moisturizer had gone bad and smelled funky - we had to re-wash our faces. Lastly, they made The Well member-based again so non-members can't wait in the library for their services --generally a nice area. Instead, you're stuffed in the middle of the two rooms and it's cramped. Lastly, they raised the prices of the classes by at least $20 -- that's a huge increase. Also, there was staff seemingly keeping an eye on things, but it seemed awkward and weird with them standing around watching everyone -- though they were very nice. Overall, as a person who works in marketing, they raised prices, and cut corners on the experience -- essentially taking the luxe out of it all. I get a more luxe experience at my yoga studio which also has a steam room and feels cleaner. Many of the products went bad, the lotion is sticky, to the point that I just re-showered when I went home. Before, I left so refreshed and smelling great, but this experience was the total opposite. For people who have the money to enjoy this place, this isn't going to cut it. Please figure out a way to save money without losing the magic this place once had.

Samuel W.

Yelp
I had an appointment for a massage, which they booked incorrectly and barely feigned to apologize for their mistake. Very pretentious attitude and vibe. For the same money, there are many better spas in NYC. Strongly advise you do not waste your money by going to the Well.
google avatar

Jayne L.

Yelp
I'm so happy that I found this beautiful place. I've had wonderful facials from Miriam. She is so knowledgeable and does an amazing job. I've had a massage from Krystal. It was deep tissue and it was incredible. You can spend hours here. They have a sauna and steam room. Beautiful showers to finish off your time. I cannot wait to return to try the many other services they offer. Also the restaurant has great juices and smoothies. You will not regret your decision to try The Well.

Yelp
This was a lovely experience. I gave myself an afternoon at a day spa to celebrate my 60th birthday. The reception staff were warm, welcoming and helpful. The massage therapist was kind and skilled and spent a little extra time with me because she felt I needed it. The entire spa was super clean and well stocked with infused waters, snacks, and herbal teas. The sauna was clean and quiet. The changing room was clean and had plenty of cleans towels and lovely toiletries. I will definitely be coming back!

Autumn A.

Yelp
Such a cute vibe! I had the Autumn Bowl and the OatMilk Matcha latte, they were both delicious. My friend had the freshly squeezed orange juice and had to buy a second one to go because it was so good. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a healthy alternative
google avatar

Miriam R.

Yelp
I am truly horrified to report that I just paid well over $400 for the most mediocre massage of my life. I also asked to focus on a specific area on my intake, on the booking and in person with the masseuse and the request was ignored. So - my entire reason for getting the massage in the first place wasn't addressed. Finally, I recognize that it's currently a Saturday night and everyone wants to get home, but the person cleaning the locker rooms decided to shut down the showers before the actual closing time, leaving only the Handicap shower to use (and a line to use it). I planned my massage time around having just enough time to shower after. Huge disappointment. Never again. It's also worth mentioning I have never in my life written a negative Yelp review - so this is REALLY something!

Elaine S.

Yelp
Once again I was truly touched to the core of my being while spending time at The Well ! I was having an early dinner, and so excited to order one of my favorite Fall dishes, the Nine Curry Vegetables with a side of fried caulirice ! Kimmel took my order immediately and while waiting for it, the ladies working together diligently at the next table offered to share their delicious dip and chips with me that was especially prepared by chef Lara for a private event that day ! Suddenly like magic, chef Lara appeared at my table and I was able to compliment her and she described in detail how she prepared this divine ambrosia. While eating my meal, a server quietly approached my table and presented me with a gift of this extraordinary dip, all packed and ready to go ! Sending gratitude to everyone at The Well for all that you are and all that you do for me and our world ! #elainespringer #beautyandgrace #thewell #ninecurryvegetables #caulirice #divine #ambrosia #Fallmenu #gifts #surprises #gratitude #love #wellness #wellbeing #foodismedicine #wellnesswednesday

Yelp
I was so excited for my massage today. Unfortunately I was disappointed. I was escorted to the spa area and asked to get a pair of slippers and robe. I was truly shocked to pick up slippers that were clearly used. I thought perhaps they were in the basket mistakenly so I fished out another pair - nope no mistake - the slippers are all used! (Side note - as I was getting dressed to leave I noticed the women next to me had slippers that were ripped on the foot bed area - wow!). The massage itself was completely uninspiring - there was no technique and I it felt like I was getting an oil rub instead of a massage. Like another reviewer I had given info before my massage but it didn't seem to be used - I contemplated saying something - but assessed the situation as a bit hopeless so just went with what it was. I really wanted to love this place and unfortuantely I won't be returning. I'm actually visiting the Mayflower in CT next weekend and they've always had an amazing spa - it was recently taken over by The Well and now I'm seriously worried that I'll be disappointed next week. Fingers crossed the Mayflower still has their amazing staff and nothing has changed. We shall see!

Yelp
I had an evening of relaxation & rejuvenation at The Well and it was incredible and so needed. I attended a guided meditation with Val which was perfect for setting the tone of my evening, followed by a Craniosacral treatment with Val which was life altering! I had never even heard the term before so I was a bit uncertain walking in but had reiki & healing before so was still open & excited for the experience. Val was so kind & thoughtful & did a lot to make me feel comfortable before we started & did a download on what she felt afterwards. It felt like reiki & therapy combined & I was wowed by the whole thing. The whole experience at The Well, from checking in with the lovely staff to drinking bone broth while I waited in the crystal room, was so thoughtful & intentional. Thankful that such an oasis exists in the middle of Manhattan & can't wait to come back!

Yelp
I wanted to check out The Well so I went for a 9am meditation and breakfast. From the moment I walked in I fell in love!!!! The space is beautiful and the staff is lovely. My meditation session was the perfect start for the day. The setting was comfortable and beautiful and the instructor did a wonderful job. Her voice was calming and soothing. The 30 minutes flew by. Breakfast was delicious. I had the egg sandwich that had the most beautiful bright orange eggs sourced from chickens that are fed marigolds as part of their diet. I can't wait to go back and experience more of what The Well has to offer.

Yelp
I was invited to for a once-in-a-lifetime experience at The Well and thought it was fabulous. From the moment I walked into the facility, I felt a sense of calmness come over me. I was warmly welcomed into this serene, white space. I was shown around and was area was more appealing than the next. The space was immaculate. You saw staff cleansing it regularly and the downstairs steam and sauna area was incredible. I truly enjoyed my tour and visit so much. There's no place like this anywhere in NYC. My friend took me for what's called a QiGong Bath, which is something I've never done before. I was very skeptic about it but I still agreed to do it. Well, by the end I was seeing more clearly and felt lighter and relaxed. I found it to be completely serene and euphoric. L... and, these days, to feel relaxed in NYC is the best and worth every penny and minute. From this class, I ended up in a meditative state and it was an amazingly incredible experience I would love to do again. After my class they gave me a phenomenal, light and undefined tea. I'm definitely going to go back and get some. After the QiGong, we had a light bite that was delicious. So now, not only was a great place for all-around wellness, but the wellness includes really healthy food. Initially The Well was supposed to be a membership only club but I was thrilled they opened it up to the public. I look forward to experiencing many more wonderful practices and experiences at this amazing and beautiful facility. They have so many different options on their menu. I don't know if this makes sense, but on a glum and rainy day, I felt really happy and bright, walking out. The Well is a must go!

Yelp
I love the well--the bar, shop, spa, products. The foot rub is heavenly and lymphatic drainage with Pillar is really outstanding. She's a pro. Highly recommended. That said, I recently had an experience that I wanted to share. I booked a tapping session. I was familiar with tapping prior to the session. Val, who leads the session is amazing. She's affirming, calming, clear, laid back and super knowledgeable. The issue was my expectations--I thought Val would be doing the tapping based on the online description. Instead, she modeled techniques for me try and use at home. It was more of a consultation and lesson than the relaxing experience I had expected. I had to watch, listen, and try. I was expecting to zone out. It was also much less hands-on than I expected. Very little tapping (with me tapping myself for probably 15 minutes max), much more talking about journaling, tapping, and anti-anxiety strategies. Also very expensive; with tip this was more than $200. On the other hand, the lesson was valuable and I already used what Val taught me. Afterward they emailed asking for feedback. I shared my experience and suggested that they edit the description so people realize it's a lesson. They did not acknowledge my experience or feedback. I am not sure I will go back.

Yelp
This was my first visit and I'm really disappointed in the Well. I booked some time in the infrared sauna after work, hoping to relax, unwind and detox a bit after a long day at the office. When I arrived, the person at the front desk/ reception, just showed me to the sauna room, with no explanation of how to use the room or how to use the other available amenities. She seemed completely spaced out. I proceeded to use the sauna, which had a broken overhead light and a broken seat that kept sliding around when I sat down. It ended up being a very stressful 30 minutes. When I checked out, I tried informing the front desk of my experience and they said - nothing. They were happy to take my money though.

Yelp
I was in NY on vacation for the weekend and signed up for a class. I booked and paid for it and was informed after paying that I was waitlisted. The class came and went and I was not taken off the waitlist. I reached out to the support email address listed on their website to get a refund for the class and never received even a cursory response email. Nonexistent customer service and I'm still out the cost of the class :/

Yelp
The Well has a cleansing energy the moment you step in. I recently went for brunch and not only is the vibe exactly what I needed, but the food was delicious. I tried the Well Bowl which was simple and full of flavor, but the real stars were the trout and cauliflower rice. Perfectly seasoned and fresh, I will definitely be going back again soon.

Yelp
I tried to book a yoga class here from a visiting instructor. Went on their site, booked the class, and then was charged. All good! Then I later find out that I was waitlisted... odd since the confirmation page never said anything about a waitlist. So I email them about it and they said there's no way for me to see my position on the waitlist.. they said they'll email me if I get off. How can anyone plan around that? Finally the class comes - I didn't get off the waitlist (bummer) and I call to get an obvious refund. The woman on the phone was nice but said she has to get approval for the refund. Like are you kidding? Please get a better booking system this was such a hot mess.

Yelp
I'm fairly happy, with the services. Some things were not as I'd prefer, but the quality of my treatments has been good.

Yelp
Very good tho not excellent massage from Michael, in a clean, comfortable setting. Possibly the only massage I've ever gotten where the masseur didn't check in even one time to ask if the pressure was ok or if there were any areas I'd like him to focus on or avoid. And when the massage was over--more than 10 minutes short of the 90 minute booking--he left w/o a thank you, goodbye or anything. When I went to check out and I was told that a 20 percent gratuity was included, I understood why there might not have been a friendlier, more accommodating vibe. By the way, I was not told until leaving that the tip was automatically added. I would have been glade to leave even more had the treatment warranted it.

Yelp
Food was pretty bland and tasteless, extremely expensive for the portion size as well. They were out of the juice I usually get and service was a bit slow. A great atmosphere though that is relaxing

Yelp
I loved this spa when I first started going. Beautiful space and pleasant staff. Great facials by Christina. However, they did a "price increase" that was announced after my facial. I have been to some of the top spas in the world. My last facial was over $600. I was shocked. I would rather go to the four seasons downtown then here. Nothing special about it. I will not be returning due to these ridiculous new prices. It's nice for an instagram post, which I do not do. This really is more of a pretentious Los Angeles wellness center. Plus, they have co-ed saunas which can be uncomfortable for people.

Yelp
Incredibly beautiful with attention to detail all around the spa area. My massage with Krystal was the best massage I've ever had (and really needed). She paid attention to the areas I needed most work and felt equally relaxing as it relieving. From the linens to the Dyson products to the Ayurvedic teas, I loved this luxurious experience !

Yelp
Extremely Unprofessional. They completely ruined our wedding anniversary celebration. I contacted them over a month prior to the date to inquire about reserving their couple's massage, after which I was told to call to finalize the booking. I did just that, selected the time for the massage (I was told they had pretty much any time available that day). We have 2 small children so we arranged everything for them to be watched after so that we can finally get some time as a couple. Fast forward a month later, three days before what is supposed to be our relaxing time at the spa, I receive a call from them stating that somehow there was a booking error and that they cannot see us that day. I cannot comprehend how there was a booking error and how they only realized that 3 days before us coming to this establishment. And finding a different, nice spa with availability for that day proved to be of no luck as none of them had openings for that day. So what was supposed to be a relaxing anniversary experience, ended up not taking place because of this supposed "booking" error. I was also told that a manager will reach out to me to rectify this but I did not hear from one, which further proves that they do not care about any customers, or potential customers.

Yelp
Just visited here for the first time, and I can't wait to go back. The whole environment here is so positive and relaxing. I went a half hour before my massage and that was enough time to use the sauna before. My massage with Pilar was amazing. She definitely is top of the line and was so sweet. I'd recommend her to everyone. I was planning to go to the cafe afterwards but there was an hour wait, so I recommend making a reservation especially if you go on a weekend.

Yelp
So glad they're back open, got a massage that was terrific and then stopped at the restaurant for brunch. The cauliflower rice and bone broth were both fantastic!

Yelp
I did The Well Cleanse last year and found it to be a great and effective reset. I fell in love with the "Clean Green Protein", and have ordered it several times since doing the cleanse (despite the $77 price tag). I went to order it online and it, along with the Cleanse are no longer listed. I called the NYC location to get some information and the person on the phone was so rude - vague and dismissive. Other than "yeah, we don't sell it in the store or online anymore". Fishing for some more information, I told her how good I thought it was and wondered why they no longer sold it. I was met with a long silence...like, I literally thought we got disconnected, and she ended the call with "yeahhhhh, sorry, we don't have it anymore". Weird and disappointing. Maybe their protein was on the extensive recall list for contamination and lack of sterility that recently happened? Or maybe their margin on a $77 shake was still not enough to warrant producing it? Or maybe I'm the only person who thought it was great? I guess I'll never know!

Yelp
I have been seeing Dr. Jessica Sowards for acupuncture at The WELL for the past 3 months. I have been struggling with digestive and hormonal problems for the past 5 years, seeing various doctors and trying numerous tricks and trends. Dr. Sowards took me through a very thorough health history consultation and helped come up with an individualized program. Her expertise and care are unmatched, and I really feel like she pays attention to my specific issues in treatment. Highly recommend! She is extremely knowledgeable and has +10 years studying Chinese medicine.

Yelp
I went into inquire about joining and had never been treated so disrespectfully. The man at the front desk acted like he could not be bothered to give me a tour, would not let me enter the gym or the downstairs facilities, as he said active members were using them. How am I supposed to decide if I want to join if he would not let me see anything? It was very bizarre and he made me feel that I was not wanted and excluded. Maybe I didn't look like how he wanted members to look. I am a current member at equinox and was looking to make a change. The facility looks nice but his attitude was enough to drive me away. Not a good business, stay away.

Yelp
As soon as you walk in you just feel calm. It's one of my favorite places to unwind and connect back with myself. Besides all the individual treatments (reiki, acupuncture and facials are my fav so far), I love that everything is integrated. The providers are mindful of your past treatments and always check in to see if my previous issues are still a problem so they can address those with each new treatment.
