Exceptional Stay at The Wellem – A True Hidden Gem in Düsseldorf! I had the pleasure of staying at The Wellem for four nights with my family during a layover in Düsseldorf. Coming from Dallas, this was my first visit to Germany – and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. As someone who travels frequently for work and has stayed in numerous hotels worldwide, I was curious to see how The Wellem would compare. The verdict? It not only met but exceeded my expectations! The combination of luxurious comfort, stylish design, and outstanding service truly sets this hotel apart. A special shoutout to Ms. Ebru Öksüz, who took excellent care of us. Her warm hospitality, professionalism, and valuable local insights made our stay even more enjoyable. It’s rare to experience such personalized and attentive service, and this is exactly what distinguishes a good hotel from an exceptional one. Düsseldorf itself was a pleasant surprise, but The Wellem played a significant role in making my first visit to Germany unforgettable. I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and am already looking forward to my next stay. Huge thanks to the entire team! Osman Sahin

Very nice property in a great location. If you are looking for an extended stay option in a good area this is the place. I really liked that the gym is open 24/7 as tend to go for early runs before starting my business day. I appreciated the Nespresso machine in the room and getting bottles (yes bottles, 2 of them) replenished daily. The one thing I find confusing and uncomfortable is to have a wall at the feet of the bed, this woke me up a few times when I moved and my feet hit said wall.

Had a wonderful stay here although the hotel had some issues with service however Shakir at the front desk was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and truly went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect for us. Shakir has a real personality! Warm, professional, and memorable. He made our experience exceptional from the moment we arrived. Thank you for the outstanding service!

We had a very disappointing experience at The Wellem on June 17 around 5 PM. A friend who was staying at the hotel brought us in by car, and we entered through the garage. While he went up to his room, we waited in the lobby and asked to use the restroom. The doorman stopped us and, upon learning we weren’t staying at the hotel, refused access in a very rude and dismissive manner. We explained that we hadn’t come from the street but entered with a guest through the garage, but he continued in a disrespectful tone and even accused us of being aggressive—though he was the one who was confrontational. This kind of treatment is unacceptable at any establishment, let alone a five-star hotel. Basic hospitality and respect were completely missing. A very unpleasant and embarrassing experience.

Location is amazing with short walks to metro and old town/restaurants.|However, the concierge staff didn't know how to get into our apartment tower, walking us back and forth to find a door that his card would open. Then he didn't leave us with door cards: had to go back to the desk to ask for those, which couldn't be done. Told they'd be dropped to us, which didn't happen. Asked again the next morning to get them.|Also, had a kitchen but next to no cooking gear. Had to ask for the basics of pots, pans, spoons, etc to be brought to us. Which didn't happen, had to go to the front desk myself to get them delivered so we could cook dinner.|Lastly, at check-out, asked for a final print-out so I could claim the expenses. Desk guy couldn't figure out how to print it, so I asked for it to be emailed, and he didn't know how to do that either. He had to take a task to get the boss to do it the next day.|The underwhelming service wasn't a once off. For the 5-star price I expected better.

This hotel is dishonest. I booked two rooms and they "upgraded" them into one apartment unit. Ten it turned out the apartment unit as bo functional Air conditioning, leaving the room at 27 Celsius/ 80 F degrees. And all this happened at midnight. While the front desk and bell captain are sympathetic to me, they weren't able to offer any help.

The operations of this hotel are an absolute mess and the attention is very bad. We were thinking of staying here for 2 weeks, but wanted to try 1 night first. Despite how beautiful the hotel is, I couldn’t wait to get out of here after 1 night. Where do I start with the issues? - No signage about where to park when you arrive to the area, so we ended up parking in a different garage (30€/day). They claim to have valet, but I only saw someone there once during our entire stay. - I asked how much parking costs per day and the guy seemed offended that I’d even ask, then said 50€/day. Once checked in, I scanned the hotel QR code which shows that it’s only 32€/day. What a shame that they try to scam their guests! - Absolutely no mention of World of Hyatt status (I’m a couple nights away from Globalist), and no other benefits given for having status. - Breakfast wasn’t included in our stay and when I asked how much it was, the receptionist seemed completely gobsmacked that I’d even ask the price and there was a few seconds of awkward silence. Completely unprofessional — obviously we can afford the breakfast, but we won’t accept extortionate prices especially without even knowing them beforehand. - We asked for detergent and when they brought it, he rung the bell and then literally 3 seconds later just opened up the door, clearly in a rush. Not only did he nearly walk in on my wife in her bathrobe, he also hit me with the door due to his impatience and lack of respect for guests’ privacy. - No pool, spa, or anything like that. - Bad, small gym - There’s no extra lock (deadbolt) on the doors. - Tried to order room service several times over a 30-minute period and they never picked up - No check in allowed before 3PM (which is fine), but when we came back after 3 they couldn’t find our bags at first (just a couple backpacks) — other five star hotels we’ve stayed in already would’ve had our backpacks waiting for us in the room. Also, another word of advice to some workers here: a lot more people understand Russian than you might expect; watch what you say, especially when talking about guests. Edit: they made a mistake (deliberate or not) and my night wasn’t credited to World of Hyatt. Never seen this happen before, so I think this hotel is just being scummy

Very helpful and polite reception. Great breakfast service. Nice and quiet rooms. Air conditioning that works well, at least for the room I had.

Yelp
Wow, what can you say about this amazing place. Had a last minute stop over in Dusseldorf for a meeting and wanted to find a place in the Andreas Quarter of Dusseldorf as I really like the restaurants and attractions. This Hyatt House was renovated out of an old court house and caters to the Andreas Quarters art scene. There are plenty of theater productions and art galleries a plenty, plus there are two amazing restaurants right inside. The piano bar is amazing with such a great lounge feeling. When you walk in the lobby is MASSIVE but so well decorated to make you feel at home. Little areas to sit and read the many books provided, gorgeous artwork to look at, stunning architecture...the list goes on. Oh, and the rooms are massive and priced perfectly, and their brand news, super cozy, and best of all quiet. Staff is top notch and accommodating to all the request you may have. Breakfast is fantastic, the Gym is big...nothing more to say, this place is really really good and I put it at the top of the list. If you do stay here, I recommend an early morning stroll down to the Rhein River along the quarter and take a look at all the plazas and squares in the early morning hours before everything starts to move, absolutely breathtaking with all the public art.
