Our original air bnb canceled on us the night before our flight to Kauai. The West Inn thankfully had space for us and we are so glad they did. We’ve had an amazing experience here. It’s very quiet and relaxing in a historical town. The staff has been absolutely amazing to us, giving us all the recommendations and such. The room was very clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable. Overall we had a great experience and would absolutely stay here again! Will also be recommending to all of our friends who frequently visit from Oahu like us.

The room was great! We had a perfect little kitchen, the bathroom was large, bed was so comfortable, along with the squishy pillows. You can do your laundry on-site. The 2nd-floor rooms all share the back balcony that overlooks the horse ranch, and the ocean just beyond. Aside from a great room, the hospitality we had is what made this place perfect. All the ladies I met there were so friendly, and helpful. I was given fresh mango, and pickled mango, and even offered some grapefruit-type melon to try. We enjoyed our stay here. So to anyone who reads my reviews, come check out The West Inn and enjoy the town of Waimea! 🌴🐓🫶🌈🤙❤️🤗🌴

Booked last minute and we’re super happy. Good location in Waimea near some shops and cafes. Staff were super helpful and responsive. Was even offered freshly picked mangoes from the tree behind the building which were delicious. Also had a spot to do laundry. Would stay here again for sure.

If you’re looking for a no frills clean place to stay while exploring the west side look no further. Shannon provided great customer service and the room is very functional and comfortable. The mattress and sheets were great — which counts for a lot when looking for a place to sleep. This is not fancy or a place I’d go if I plan to spend a lot of time in the room.

Small ‘motel’ in a great location, just down the road from Waimea Canyon Road. Initial impressions were that this is truly a historic building but as we settled in we fell in love with the rustic setting, ocean view with abundant mango trees and horse paddock in the foreground. Staff were extremely responsive and helpful to the special request and simple snags we encountered. Thank you West Inn!

Great location super friendly nice little getaway right next to beach. Room is clean and very modern I was late check in but it was very easy online check in. If you’re wanting a more local style stay in Kauai this is your place!

Yelp
We loved our stay at the West Inn. The room was squeaky clean, stocked with a variety of complimentary snacks, quality coffee, friendly check in with local recommendations for food and shopping. Highly recommended.

Yelp
We made a mistake... We booked just one night to be close to our early am excursion for the last day of our visit, and as soon as we walked into our room we knew we had made a mistake by not staying here for our entire stay on the island. Don't make the same mistake...book it for multiple nights and enjoy your time!

Yelp
We stayed in Waimea at the West Inn for 7 nights and 8 days. Our plane arrived very late, but the inn was able to accommodate our 2am check in. The room was spacious and clean. There is a shared balcony that has a sliver of an ocean view. We never saw anyone else on it, which is a shame because watching the chickens gather and squabble every morning around a big tree just outside was a really fun. The inn is in the heart of Waimea and a short walk from everything in the sleepy town. The room has a small kitchenette with mini-fridge, microwave, and dishes/utensils, making it easy to prepare and nibble on fresh fruit and keep our beer from Napali Brewing cold. The staff were always so kind and engaging. There is a coin-op washer and dryer and the owner makes getting coins super easy. 10/10 experience!

Yelp
I am shocked to say this is my favorite hotel in Kauai. In a weird turn of events we ended up staying at 3 different hotels/resorts on our stay. The first two nights were planned as we had a resort for the final 3. One night in the resort without AC was enough for me to find a hotel. We found this spot. It was an incredible price, it was on the other side of the island, and it was honestly perfect. When i was booking, I was sleepy and a bit out of it. I was concerned that it wasnt real honestly. I found the price and the yelp page with 15 reviews, but when you search the west inn kauai on google maps it redirects to West Kauai Lodging. From the google maps picture it looks like the same spot, but it was concerning. Either way it was the best price and had the best reviews for the price point. I was a little disappointed when we got there at first, because we were so far away from the popular restaurants and sites, but honestly it ended up being perfect. The hotel is in the middle of a neighborhood. So the bummer was that we had to drive 30+ minutes to get to the east side of the island where all the fun places we wanted to visit were. But this presented an awesome opportunity in the fact that we got to see what hawaii looks like from a local view. It wasnt super busy, it wasnt crowded, it was just laid back fun. We found some places that were closer to visit for food and had a decent cup of coffee close to the hotel. The best part was one night we drove about 10 minutes west to see the sunset. It was not crowded. It was full of locals and we were able to just relax on the beach and stare at the majesty that was a Kauai sunset. Plus at night time when you come back home you dont have to worry about 20+ minutes of extra traffic. You just cruise around and relax. I would highly recommend this place for anyone. The room is nice, had a large mattress, a ceiling fan, and ac. Plus HBO was available which expands entertainment possibilities. It was a perfect little stay with great little amenities. Definitely perfect for us. Definitely a cool place. And most importantly i was able to sleep through the night. Next trip here we are staying here the entire time.

Yelp
There's so many great things about this little Gem! Staff is amazing , location is amazing, weather is amazing, Shower pressure is Amazing! You won't be disappointed...you'll find yourself wanting to go back just to be there and smell the sweet floral air and see the beautiful welcoming faces!

Yelp
Clean, more spacious than I expected, free parking, large fridge, nice lanai, and just a few steps from the pier and dark sand beach. Great spot to stay for early morning beach runs and late night star gazing. Wonderful for West Side and Waimea Canyon adventures. Several sweet spots to eat within walking distance. The roosters crowing prevented us from keeping the windows open all night, but the air conditioner worked wonders for those last few hours before getting out for the day. My only wish is the hot water would have been hotter (but I usually feel that way everywhere:). Great wifi too. Friendly staff and easy check in. They were even able to accommodate my request for a late check out! I had a Zoom meeting from 11-1 I needed to be in on our last day and they were able to help me out. Say hi to Alfia the cat when you stay.

Yelp
Can not possibly have enough good words to say about The West Inn. Oskar (front desk) in particular. My wife and I found shelter in a storm at the West Inn and were treated to an experience that we'll never forget. Needless to say, Oskar is a man who is true to his word and is more than happy to provide insider tips that will make your stay a blast. As for the room - We stayed above the front office. Clean, comfortable, quiet. Everything you could ask for in a spot to lay your head while visiting paradise. Can't wait to return year after year. West Inn is a true gem. (P.S. This is - hopefully obviously - NOT A RESORT).

Yelp
Perfect spot to stay for the night if you're doing a Napali coast tour. We were staying on the other side of the island and had a 7am boat tour. Luckily we found the West Inn to stay for the night. Extremely friendly staff and Len comfy hotel room. They also offer coin laundry which was a huge help! Highly recommend the affordable stay to avoid the long drive early morning.

Yelp
i live in hotels, and this place was fantastic. a real basic place to rest your head, but the room was great, the amenities--fridge, microwave, cable with about a thousand channels, and some terrific people that work there as well as the owner, who spends a lot of time there. he will go up and ask you how your stay is going, is there anything you need, etc. He also collects old Volvo's and had a couple parked in the parking lot. a couple of weber kettles, and a picnic area with lights in case you want to grill was a great idea. i didnt get a chance to use it as i was there working, and kind of tired when i got back to the hotel. wish i had some time to do that as i am grilling when home and would have loved to do that. a place that if i have to return to the area will definitely stat at again.

Yelp
Perfect 'no frills' hotel in West Kauai We were looking to get an early start at Waimea Canyon and wanted to stay close by. The West Inn did the trick and was quite pleasant. The woman running the front desk was super friendly and helped us check in and get situated. She then gave us some suggestions around town for restaurants, beaches, etc. There is a good sized parking lot and the rooms all share back a back porch. Our room had two double beds, a small table, tv, small outside kitchen, and pretty big bathroom. All in all, we had a great stay and it was perfect for heading up to Waimea Canyon in the morning. I would recommend for those looking to stay in the area!

Yelp
Fabulous place to stay! My husband and I stayed here for two nights. The service at the hotel was friendly and helpful. The rooms are new and updated. The hotel grounds are well kept and there is laundry machines available on site. There are also great food trucks and restaurants within walking distance. Would stay here again! A++

Yelp
OK...super late review of The West Inn. First of all, this was hysterical trying to tell people around the island that we were staying at The West Inn on the west end. Everyone's response, "There's a Westin on the west side?" Hilarious. This place was on point. Very quiet and clean and everyone took such great care of us. My one and only complaint, I wish we stayed for longer than than two nights. We wanted to check out all areas of the island and stayed here our first nights. There isn't much of a nightlife scene, but who cares? I didn't. We were so close to Waimea Canyon that by the time we left the state park, hiking on so many amazing trails, we were beat. It's so reassuring to come to your home away from home knowing everything is super clean and you can rest easy on a clean bed. We will definitely come back and you should too.

Yelp
Oskar at the front desk is great. He was super helpful and friendly - gave tips on hikes, helped carry bags to our room, always asking how we were doing and if there was anything we needed. Great asset to the property. The hotel itself is pretty great, too. Understand, this isn't a fancy resort. But, if you need a clean, comfortable room, they've got it. Ours had an ocean view, but not all will. We had, what I believe was, the cheapest room, and it came with a fridge (w/ real freezer), microwave, sink, plates, bowls, utensils, coffee maker, coffee. I think if you get the suite you also get a stove. We didn't plan to spend three nights in Waimea, but we ended up really digging the quiet little town. And, having the relaxing hotel room w/ the sounds of the ocean in the background didn't hurt. I'm sure we'll be back.

Yelp
This was a great place to stay if you need a place in Waimea. Air conditioned (which is a must have) and clean local style looking rooms with all the conveniences such as a refrigerator, iron, sink, tv, free WiFi, etc. The best thing about his place was its location right in the heart of Waimea - all the shops are 1 or 2 blocks from the place, as well as the beach (mostly for fishing since it is brown sand) being a very short stroll away. The staff is friendly and they don't bother us at all. This was a wonderful find online, and very reasonably priced! If we ever need a place to stay in Waimea again, this is the first place we would choose.

Yelp
On the outside the West Inn looks like a motel 8 or something. Was extremely skeptical checking in as my baseline is Marriott but not many options in Waimea - and west inn was the only place which answered the phone!lol. I am thankful I checked in though bc this hotel is a real gem. Great customer service, real comfortable beds, great pillows, 60 inch (I think) smart TVs in each room, and a nice bathroom/shower. Further, a large fridge gives people the option of eating in the hotel once or twice a day for stays of longer duration. I paid 169$ not including taxes a night for my 3 night stay which I consider a very good value for Kauai standards. I had a similar accommodation/ price supposedly booked on Airbnb but (big surprise) it cancelled. Anyways, I would stay at this place again!

Yelp
Great place to stay while exploring the area. Clean, comfortable room with all the amenities you'd expect, plus a sort of 'kitchenette' - very useful since the restaurant options are a little limited in the tiny town of Waimea. Oskar at the front desk is great! Really nice guy and very helpful. We would definitely stay here again. We really had a good time.

Yelp
The West Inn, who needs to stay here? EVERYONE! Totally Impressed with this quaint and well maintained 'Inn'...loved it that there is no garish hotel lobby, conveniently located in old Waimea town, within walking distance of numerous eateries, grocery stores, and in the evening you can walk across the street to one of the only theaters on the island to watch a movie! Love it that it is not in the touristy-tacky resort area. The room reminds me of a studio apartment, not a hotel room....matter of fact it is roomier than any room you would find at other island hotels, roomy bathroom, and it even comes with a kitchenette- apartment size refrigerator-freezer, microwave oven, and utensils....and it even has a little launderette. I will Definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Great little place to stay in the heart of Waimea. The staff has a lot of Aloha, Oscar is extremely friendly and very helpful. There was a power outage in waimea town when we checked in (later in the evening) and oscar was very helpful and walked us to our room with candles and a flashlight. It was pricey ($200/night) but so is everything in that area it's absolutely adorable and very clean and the A/C unit was a big plus! I would definitely stay there again! Mahalo Oscar :)

Yelp
What a gem! Super nice, laid back. Newly remodeled, clean, friendly, right in Waimea. Couldn't have wanted anything more. Just made you feel like home, but on a gorgeous island! (It's not a resort, if that's what you're looking for.) Definitely would recommend this place! Feel really lucky to have stumbled upon this place.

Yelp
This hotel is beautiful! A great place to use as a base camp for hiking Waimea canyon.
