Elegant, spacious, lobby. Front desk ladies a bit unwelcoming. A cordial gentleman, perhaps an asst gen mgr, was professional, and welcoming, invited us to contact him if we needed anything. The on-site restaurant, Grill & Dine, does not have enough offerings, so we didn't go in. The hostess at the hall entry was very personable and sweet though, so I will eventually visit that eatery. What an example of positive demeanor positively impacting business!!! The makeup mirror in our bathroom, a nice touch, since hotel rooms tend to be poorly lit. Closets w/actual doors, also a plus. Neat, well-decorated halls. You need your room key for the elevators. I discovered this on the elevator while wondering why it wouldn't move. I had just watched 2 confused guests (Russian-language speakers) give up and exit. Clerks should inform guests about elevator functioning. I could've helped that frustrated couple had I known to use the key or had I entered the car with them to see posted at the scanner: "Guest key required to use elevators." My daughter and I could not enter the car to help with the couple still inside since sign outside the elevator read: "Only 2 guests at a time or 1 family," so...
Our 'double queens' room offered a partial view of the Denver skyline. There was courtesy coffee, of course, (Starbucks brand. I don't patronize Starbucks due to the company's politics and antiChristian bend). The little movable, metal-arm reading lights beside the headboards are a nice touch. Contemporary bathroom decor, but the small shower stall is not that modern. There is a tub and there r leaf-shaped soaps which smell delightful. All in all, based on my 1-night stay, I recommend this Westin. I do hope the check-in personnel become a bit more welcoming because all else in this hotel appeared to be praiseworthy and polished. Anyhoo Merry Christmas to all!!! And to all, a good review! Peace, love, joy!
